And this is a town where folks are loyal to bakeries that have been making them for families for decades. Customers also pick up some 'pops' or 'papo secos' a dry roll for sandwiches or with dinner, and maybe say a few words in Portuguese. But I also came for nata, the egg custard tarts beloved in Brazil, Macau, Jakarta, and Goa, known as pastel de nata. And they did not disappoint, having both the traditional natas with flaky pastry & brûlée tops and at least half a dozen other types including Nutella, caramel, chocolate, passion fruit and more. Heaven! Service was quick and helpful. The ambiance is cute corner bakery catering to parents who bring home breakfast treats for their kids and family. You could barely taste any p.butter flavor in those cookies - maybe they aren't using a high quality p.butter??. I think they all have a bit too much flour added to them - I just read on the p.butter that they use both bread flour and cake flour which would explain it and they all need a touch of salt. Sorry - but I think they should go back to the drawing board on these.
