Everything from soft serve, sherbet, and even dairy free options. Extremely generous with the scoops, I always opt for the small cone as anything bigger would just be a waste. Sugar cones, waffle cones, choco tacos, warm waffles, you name it, they have it. Milkshakes, sundaes, and even root beer floats. Seemed like the line starts getting really long after 6pm, but since they have 4 windows, it seems to move quickly. Good amount of seating outside- tables on the side of the building, and a few picnic tables on the other side. Parking can be challenging with all the coming and going, and it's a small lot. I love Dairymaid. The staff is always so pleasant and accommodating. Sometimes, mostly during peak times (weekends and evenings) the lines can be long, but they move things along pretty quickly. Their ice cream is delicious. I usually go for the strawberry cheesecake icecream in a waffle cone.... Never disappoints . I even branched out recently and tried their "steamed hot dog".... Dairy Maid is a little ice cream stand in the south end of NB. Came here with my friend Amy, who knows where all the ice cream places are in NB, Dartmouth, Acushnet, etc. Ice cream was just ok. The server had a bit of an attitude. I asked for maple walnut with hot apple topping (sounds pretty good, right?) and she gave me pineapple topping. When I said that it wasn't what I ordered, she said they were out of hot apple. Why didn't you tell me that when I ordered? And why would you put pineapple on maple walnut? yuck. In good news I got different ice cream, but my choice of cherry vanilla had maraschino cherries in it. Not the best. So what's the 3rd star for? Amy's car wouldn't start and a different employee gave her a jump. Now that's good service! read more

I've been going to Dairy Maid for the past 13 or so summers and, after dealing with the godawful stuff in Martha's Vineyard (same ice cream from Medford, MA, from Vineyard Haven [lowest price] to Edgartown), I have to write that this place beats all ice cream on the Southcoast, hands down. Right by the water dike, Dairy Made is an non-special Ice Cream stand that serves moderately cheap and average tasting sundaes and Milkshakes. The milkshakes are pretty thick and tasty, but the cones just tasted a little boring, unoriginal and just plain blah. Above everything else, it's an ice cream stand. You shouldn't really make any stupid assumptions over such a basic place. The only bad thing about Dairy Made was that the server was just a little snooty. But if your working in South New Bedford, I can't really blame you. read more
