He was polite, well mannered, knowledgeable and didn't pressure me into anything which often happen to me in a desperate situations like this. Not to mention it was reasonably priced. Well, it's 2019 now. I phoned this same tow company today, June 1st, for the same service as before…read more(see my glowing 2016 review). My car is the same vehicle, parked in the same space and in the same residential parking garage from where they helped me successfully three years ago. Now however, GNG flatly refuses me service. The guy who answered the phone said that he "damaged his truck last time," which he absolutely did not. Also, he said that "you're on the top floor aren't you?" trying vainly to remember the job, which I am not. I'm on a lower level, one story down from street level. I would think that in three years, GNG only would have gotten three years better and more efficient than they already were. Instead, however, it appears that in that short span of time, they've gotten worse at what it is they claim they do with such expertise. Negative and condescending on the phone, the guy sounds like he hates what he does for a living--or perhaps he was just having a bad day. I phoned them with the same result over a month ago, thus why I felt it was probably time to alert consumers. I suppose there's just that much towing in Chicago, that one can cavalierly decline business and revenue on any given Saturday.

I've had multiple situations with towing, jumpstarts, busted tires, etc. because apparently my car is a POS (bless her engine). But, none of my experiences are stand out--except for this one, thanks to Manny. Manny communicated consistently about his ETA/ timeline for completing other calls before me. So, I wasn't sitting around waiting outside, and he wasn't sitting around waiting for me either. Once he was able to give an accurate ETA, he showed up exactly when he said he would--literally to the minute. He was also extremely knowledgeable about best practices when having to get your car towed. He warned me about all the towing scams that take place around Chicago and how to avoid them. I had no idea there were so many ways for tow companies to milk money. If you take a look at the reviews for other tow companies, it becomes increasingly apparent how common these scams are. The fact that he was so transparent about red flags for other towing companies makes it clear that GNG does none of that. Everything was streamlined with GNG--you pay with a card and your information is all in the system, so you know they don't do any of the shady money-pocketing scams. The price was great too. After my phone company paid their share, I paid $28 out of pocket, which shows that the initial price must have been very reasonable, because in the past my OOPs have been 2X-3X that. If I have any future car issues (which I definitely will... I mentioned my car is a POS, right?), I'm coming back to GNG. And though I'm sure everyone here is awesome, I'll ask for Manny.

Service was great…read more The guys who work there are super nice and understanding. Their lot is super secure with barbed wire all over the place, 3 locks on the gate, and no look plates around the whole area so nobody can look in. I forgot something in my car after I thought I cleared it out. The tow truck driver who dropped it off came back from where ever he was to let me back in the car. Great place and good people. Highly recommend.

I wish i could give more than 5 stars…read more I was unfortunately, in a terrible crash in the middle of the night. The co-owner from the company was at the site within seconds. He made sure myself ,my fiancé and my children were okay. Then I had so many questions but no idea where to start. He reassured me i was not at fault, the person who hit me was at fault. He then walked me through the process of what is going to happen while I was waiting on the ambulance to take myself and my kids to the ER. The following day, I called to get more information and he gave me so much information about Insurance that I had no idea about and I very much appreciated it. I will be keeping this company in mind for any future issues that I may run into. (I hope I don't have to, though)

Driver claim he had to do some different hook due to tie rod. I told him no. His dispatcher call me trying to negotiate a price since I refused to pay 250. I told him his driver could leave. After the driver sit there for 10 min he come tell me he could do it for the quoted price. After he hooked up my truck, I informed him I 16 yrs of towing experience, and ask him what did he do different with the tow. Of course no response Company trying to rip people off

I really appreciate the work completed since I've never had to move the tool chest before so I was nervous about damage during the move. My car has sat idle in my building's parking garage, collecting dust since before the pandemic began--meaning since 2018. In those six years, I've been vainly searching for one towing company in the city that appeared even remotely like they wanted my business. The experience has ranged from abrasive phone dispatchers who obviously hated their jobs, to not having drivers or trucks available, being too busy or not having certain tools on their trucks (i.e. air compressors), to not answering the phone at all or wanting to charge your credit card in advance of showing up. Chicago towing is the exception, and they are exceptional. This was the absolute best, most professional and most pleasing experience with a tow company ever--especially if you get a chance to work with Robert (do yourself a favor and ask for him by name). After General Motors was unable to repair whatever was wrong with my General Motors engine a few years back -- and charged me over $500 for it -- I phoned Chicago Towing this week to see if I could just get my car started to get some servicing before this winter sets in. They called me to confirm, texted me to confirm, then the driver Robert texted me to confirm again and provided his precise ETA. He showed up on time, knew exactly what he was talking about and had my vehicle running in less than five minutes. He also gave me about another ten minutes of good, knowledgeable, no-nonsense advice and counsel about my car, the payment process was seamless and he even made sure I was parked straight before leaving. These guys actually deserve to have Chicago be a part of their name. World-class service in a world-class city; extremely rare in the towing business. You can rest assured I'm never calling anyone else.
