Beer Gardens food you did it again. Once Famous Grill food truck delivered! In 56 years and being a world traveler (he, he) I never tried cat fish. I acknowledge my bias- so a few weeks ago I wanted fish but wasn't sure about catfish and I say go for it, the catfish is tasty, it has a nice light seasoned crust, great texture and really big portions. I also got the fried shrimp and these are not Dairy Queen shrimp, these are serious jumbo shrimp, delicious and crunchy. Lastly the onion rings with the aioli sauce and ranch, mmm. The young man at the register would not get off a long, what seemed personal, phone call or get up from his chair at the cash register to greet my wife and me. It's the lunch hour on a Monday so the Beer Garden is fairly dead. If you are looking for a juicy bbq sandwich, rich with beef flavor this does it. The bun is soft and allows you to focus on the meat without having to chew bread. Cheese melted on top almost made it too rich but stopped short. Accompanied by crunchy fries the nicely got loaded with meat, cheese, and flavor drippings. Great food & atmosphere! I went to the new location in Springfield and was pleasantly surprised with all the seating and multiple food options. Ultimately I chose to eat at Once Famous Grill and I'm glad I did! I ordered the shrimp basket and it was really good. I was super excited to see this menu walking through the Beergarden. My husband and I came with our 6 year old. We all decided to eat from the one food cart. There was something on the menu for each of us! Once it came to questions and ordering Shay helped us out. Answered all our questions politely (we have picky eaters) and made sure our order was exactly what we wanted. She even made a point to include our 6 year old in the experience. She gave the buzzer to our kid who was super excited to have the responsibility. The food came out hot and delicious. Shay warned us about our hot fried food for the kiddo. This review is for the Philly cheesesteak and fries basket. The fries are shoestring fries, not my preferred, but these were fresh and enjoyable. The Philly cheesesteak was not terrible, but not amazing. The bread was cool and dry to the touch, definitely a lot more bread than filling in the sandwich. The meat, cheese, veggie filling was decent. But it didn't really fill out the bread in my opinion. I'd like to come back and try their seafood baskets sometime, but probably wouldn't get the Philly cheesesteak again. read more

The fries were kind of limp and the fish was so super overdone I couldn't manipulate the shrimp into a shape where I could eat them. #hardasarock don't pay for the $17 cat and shrimp here. The cheesesteak and fries we ordered from this foodcart wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing either. The fries were good, I could compare them to fast food fries. The cheesesteak itself was lacking meat, cheese, peppers and onion. It honestly had more bread than meat and the flavor didn't make us want to order another one. For the price I expected more filling. It just seemed like it was made in a hurry without much thought. All of the other photos on here look like nice big portions with topping spilling over. If that's not what they provide every time the the photos are deceiving. I will give this place another try because maybe I went on an off day or just didn't like what I ordered. read more

Horrible. Food took an hour and it wasn't good. Way overpriced. Got a shrimp philly sandwich that was made on the smallest hoagie bun you could ever imagine. Also, the coleslaw tasted horrible as well. Absolutely no sauce mixed into it and it tasted very dry. Then they tried to compensate us by giving us a few ice cream sandwiches and offered to make me a new sandwich. However, the guy game back and said the manager actually doesn't allow that. I've ate here several times and have always been happy until my last order on Friday night, called in a to go order and showed up 10 min later to pick up, ordered 2 shrimp poboys and a shrimp kids meal same order every time ! Got home ready to dig in and damn near broke my teeth on the shrimp lol they were way over cooked so literally as I was eating i found how to contact the owners who ive met before down there and they have been very nice so I explained the problem and was responded to within 24hr and they apologized and refunded my order and also offered to replace the meals next time I come in ! Did not have a good experience here today. Tried to find a phone number for them online and there is no phone number on their website so I could not call ahead to order. When I got there, I ordered a shrimp po boy and a philly cheesesteak fries. I was not aware that I would be getting fries with the po boy. I wish there was an option for just the po boy sandwich when I'm already ordering philly steak fries. When I paid with my card, the card reader had no pen so I had to use my finger to sign, the screen had stuff on it from other peoples fingers and it was crusty, I didn't realize until after I was signing with my finger. They do NOT clean in between customers. There was no one in line when I ordered so they had time to clean but I could see that they didn't. He told me food would be ready in 15-20. I waited in my car for 15 exactly, (not waiting for him to bring me food, just waiting in car to sit since there's no seating available right now) then walked into the beer garden at the 15 minute mark and he was standing there w my food. I opened the food in the car and the fries were all soggy wet from the condensation of the containers, If he told me my food was gonna be ready before that, I would have been there but he told me 15-20 minutes so I was there in 15 and the food was still soggy. The cheese and meat stick together but nothing sticks to the fries, it all came off in one chunk.... the philly steak fries could use a sauce or something would help. The Po Boy was disappointing, it's tasted sad. I'm so bummed, I was looking forward to trying a po boy for the first time but dang.... just was a let down... I am not a picky eater, I try anything once at least and I'm such a foodie.... They need some better energy put into their grub cuz man there was no jazz in it at all. read more

There was a slight hiccup with our order, before closing the night before, therefore the owner Keith took matters all within his good graces and not only offered and provided a refund, but was very responsive, respectful, down to earth and kind hearted about the situation as a whole. Ordered $10 "wings". Received 5 w/ fries. Not sold as a "basket" nor is # of wings cited. Both pieces of info required given how they offer dish. I'd have ordered differently had I known. Also they charge for ketchup. $5 order of fries comes w/ 1 ketchup & it's NOT enough. Unconscionable to charge for more. At minimum, put this condiment out w/ other food truck sides - soy, hot sauce etc. Fries/wings/pizza sticks (for kiddo) decent but not crave-able. read more

I got the pho boy shrimp sandwich but it had more lettuce than anything! Next time for sure paying for extra shrimp. The sauce on the sandwiches was to die for!
