This location is always super organized and well stocked, plus the employees are friendly and helpful. I love shopping here!

I normally have a good experience here, but I'm not too sure what the issue was today. I have my infant on my chest in a baby carrier and my toddler in a shopping cart, it was a Trader Joe's shopping cart because those are the only carts outside in the parking lot and with me having an infant and toddler for me to get a cart outside versus having to wait until we get into the store is way easier.. I go into the store and the worker tells me I cannot have that cart inside. I have to use a once upon a child shopping cart. I really almost wanted to leave and just say forget it, but I already drove 40 minutes to come here so I figured whatever. I literally set the Trader Joe's shopping cart right outside the doors and then grabbed a once upon a child shopping cart, it is definitely an inconvenience having to do that with me having a baby in a baby carrier on my chest but OK I guess they have the rules. I didn't really think the shopping cart mattered where it was from. I know if they make an exception with me they'll have to make the exceptions for other people, but I feel like they could have said I just need to make sure I leave with that cart that I can't leave the cart inside that store . Or possibly it's a Trader Joe's thing where Trader Joe's doesn't want their shopping cart inside once upon a child I don't know but again rules are rules so whatever . But what really annoyed me is when standing at checkout, there is no one else in the checkout line, there are three workers putting hangers back. Nobody said anything to me. I'm literally standing there holding the clothes I'm wanting to purchase in my hand, waiting for one of the workers to tell me which register I can set my stuff down at. I'm not sure if I will visit this location again. my experience I had there this time shopping was very annoying. They are having their 90% off summer clothes so it was nice to take advantage of good deals. There were a couple pieces of clothes on hangers that did have stains on them. This kids' resale shop is on another level. Racks of tiny outfits, costumes, track suits, and dance gear are all perfectly sorted so you do not waste time digging. When I was pregnant and unsure of what I needed, this store made shopping easy and even fun. The deals are unbelievable. I have walked out with unopened diaper boxes, high-end playmats, and seasonal finds for a fraction of the price. Sometimes the staff is not especially warm, but honestly, the savings make that easy to overlook. If you are a parent or soon-to-be parent who feels overwhelmed, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You will not regret it. read more

Lady complained about supposedly my bag smelling like gasoline when I had just washed that clothes with baby detergent a week ago funny how she mentioned that my clothes smelled weird when the whole store smells like pee and sweat as soon as you walk in , then sat there and said that she didn't give us an attitude when she made a nasty face towards us when she told us to smell the whole bag even my seven year-old daughter noticed the nasty attitude that she gave us and as we walked away, then plays victim when we mention we didn't like the attitude Maybe better customer service and a better care of of the store would be more appreciated Also buyers be advised that they don't wash the clothes as they get to the floor so washing them before putting them on your kids is a MUST I don't think that's sanitary for them To put it on the floor as soon as they received items! They're fairly organized and have a bunch of great picks but something's can be a bit overpriced but it's better then buying anywhere else tbh. The thing that made me mad or not wanna go there is when I finally did my first round of selling clothes they barely excepted anything saying it was to loved or stained, when everything looked smelt and felt brand new then took over 20 items and only gave me $12. Cool, but that means they gave thereselves free stuff outta my stuff, nothing was worth less that a dollar because they were all outfits or sets, and then denying my stuff because you don't want it is one thing but don't say it's basically crap when its name brand and yall are selling stained gerber shirts. This store was recently remodeled so it's about twice the size of what it used to be! Great selection of secondhand clothing and toys, and fairly well organized. The staff here is not particularly friendly. I've been here multiple times, and the employees up front are often loudly complaining and shouting to each other in front of customers. I dropped off two items--a bassinet and a child's fun chair--at Once Upon a Child in Glendale. The staff told me the process would take about an hour, so I went next door to Trader Joe's while I waited. When I checked back at 6:00 PM, my name was 5th in the queue and read wait time 1 hour and 5 minutes. With a major dust storm approaching, I didn't have time to wait, so I told the staff I would return the next day. Later that evening, I received a call saying they were unable to purchase my items and that I could pick them up. I returned less than 24 hours later, only to find that my items were no longer at the store. The staff told me their policy is same-day processing, but they never mentioned this policy to me when I dropped off my items, nor did they provide a courtesy call before my items were disposed of. This was extremely frustrating, as I trusted the store to keep my items safe and to communicate clearly. I hope they improve their drop-off procedures and customer communication to prevent situations like this. The bassinet was hardly used and I paid $60 for it on Amazon.. I'm currently awaiting a resolution. read more

In the last 5 years this store location has definitely declined. First off half of the clothes on the floor is "not gently used". A lot of it is stained and faded. I looked through several different sections throughly and found several pieces that should not have been on the sales floor. Second, they don't buy very much. Maybe because they are overstocked with the horrible selection of clothing they currently have ? I'm not sure but several times I've tried to sale baby items and they have been declined when I know it's in better condition than what they have on the floor. Lastly, a lot of items are over priced. Why pay 4.50$ for a faded t shirt or bottoms when you can buy one brand new for 5-6$, or faded pjs for 7$ or a name brand jacket that was not gently used for 10$ or more. They only thing that is a bang for your buck is the baby Onsies. read more

Came to this Once Upon A Child today and I have to say it was hard to come up with a rating! There were lots of good things and a few negative things I noticed while shopping here. I'll start with the negatives. First, I did not do any selling but I noticed they were extremely overwhelmed with sellers and sorting today. Over 2 hour wait to get your results from them on what they would take and it just seemed to be taking up every sales persons time. I didn't get helped or acknowledged until I walked up and asked, which even then had a delay. Waiting to get items at check out because they're busy sorting and don't notice someone is ready is kind of a lot. It would make a lot more sense to do it by appointment only during peak hours or have selling hours outside of the regular peak operations for sales. I also noticed they seemed to have a lot of the same stuff repeated that was just sitting, so I'm wondering if these things are related. Hard to determine quality and need for the inventory if you're just trying to speed through the items people are bringing in because there's such a huge demand to sell. Second, there were a lot of ridiculously overpriced items. $20 shoes for toddlers was the big one that shocked me. Items in more heavily used condition for shirts or pants that were $5.50-7.50 was leaving me wondering why I wouldn't just go buy something new on clearance for cheaper that I can get more use out of. On the positives, I've shopped at a lot of thrift and second hand stores in this area in the past few days and this store had a great variety in types of items for clothing and sizes/gender. The onesie deal was great $10 for $10 with plenty cute styles! They also had tons of shoes which was lacking at other stores i have visited. I didn't find anything myself because I was not loving the prices, but if you go on certain deal days and join their rewards there are usually discounts on top. Plus if you're selling, you'd have some store credit to burn. Overall, not a bad option I think you just need to be a little choosier at this location to avoid a bad deal as a customer. As a seller, go prepared not to get an answer for 2-3 hours and bring your patience. read more

I shop here all the time & its usually the same loud gossiping happening at the register. By loud i mean, you can hear them all the way in the back where girls clothes are at. Today, i went in with my son who was sleeping looking for a high chair. The phone kept ringing. Whoever answered hung up the phone and was like gossiping about the person on the phone saying why do people call asking if this is once upon a child like yea it is .. but when they answer the phone they just say hello? Instead of hi, this is once upon a child how can i help you? They lack professionalism big time. Also i was in a aisle that was blocked off by a bouncer and I waited a good amount of time for the staff member that was in the process of displaying the item to move it but when it exceeded 20 minutes i moved it outof my way and just as i moved it she was walking towards me and i smiled and said oh sorry and she had the nastiest look on her face as if i did something wrong. She had no response to my oh im sorry. Ive worked in customer service fo yeaaarss this was just terrible service. I made a review on google 3 months ago regarding an issue I had where they gave my items to somebody else that I was selling and I had to plan a meet up with the person who lived nowhere near me to go get my stuff that they gave to the wrong person. They commented on my review saying they hope I can trust them again. Well, today I asked my mom to take stuff to them for me and they made it so we can't even sell to them and said they are not allowed to buy from us anymore. FOR A MISTAKE THEY MADE! Here I go trying to trust them again; just to find out how am I supposed to do that when they block you from selling to them..... I will be taking my business somewhere else from now on because there's no room to build trust if they don't give you a chance for them to fix their mistakes. Buyer Beware! They ripped me off during their bogo shoe sale. If you buy any bogo here do separate transactions on all your bogo otherwise they will overcharge you and ALL SALES ARE FINAL! This is what happened. If you buy the following $10 - charge you $9 - charge you $3 - free $3 - free Total $19 It should be that the $9 pair and $3 pair are free which makes the total $13. While this might not seem a lot but if you buy several pairs of shoes it can really add up! read more

I visited this store on 9/11/2025 and per usual the staff is amazing. I was assisted by Stacey she kept a smile on her face & maintained eye contact while having a conversation with me. There also was another lady there not sure of her name but it may be the boss the lady lol I can tell she keeps the store managed well. I really wanted to like this place, I've given them many tries. I was hoping I may have caught the women working there on a bad day but they have shown poor customer service every time I'm there. Do not try to sell at this store, save your time and make the drive to the scottsdale location. I brought in several bags of clothes and even though they said they went through it I could tell they never touched two of the bags I brought in. They would have found brand new with tags Janie & Jack, gap, brand new vans, etc. While you can find some nice clothes in their store, you're going to have to dig through a lot of junk. I'll stick with the Scottsdale location or Kid 2 Kid down the road from them. read more

Good deals when it comes to purchasing but they don't pay good for selling items. For example, they offered to buy a pair of boys golf shorts from me for 90 cents that were brand new with tags. They were Greyson shorts that cost $78 new and go for $30 on eBay. How does that make any since? They don't look up brands at all they just treat them like any pair of shorts. I dont recommend bringing them stuff that is brand name and new. You will get more money on others selling platforms like offerup or eBay. read more

Wouldn't recommend this place. I bought a baby swing, the employee there said they test everything before they buy it and sell it and all returns within 7 days. I trusted her. BAD MISTAKE. Got home and tested it. IT DOESNT WORK. Went back to return it within the week. They said they wouldn't accept the return because it's a electronic and the return policy is 2 days. Maybe you should Train your employees to know the return policy. I hope you all get trained and realize you're working with moms- some with major complications from giving birth. I used to love Once Upon a Child, but this location is terrible! The clothes that they do sell are not in good condition, and when trying to donate brand new freshly washed in style clothes, they are rejected. I'm still perplexed about why they would reject brand new clothes. The people who work there look miserable and gossip behind the counter. Whoever is in charge of replying to reviews is extremely rude. Overall, this place is an absolute disgrace. Please take your business anywhere else. read more
