This is a well stocked Once Upon A Child newly opened in Oviedo! They have tons of used children's toys, clothes, equipment, you name it. The merchandise is well organized and reasonably priced. I've also sold merchandise here before and they give you cash for the items on site. There are some items they don't accept, so it's best to check their website or Facebook page to check that before you go. All in all a great store. I didn't bring my toddler today but they had these cutie little carts for her so next time I'll be sure to bring her! I went back here today and the recent negative reviews are simply unfounded IMO. The clothes are well priced and so when selling clothes it should be taken into consideration the business needs to make a profit too. In the end I made more for less effort than a garage sale. Plus, my items have a chance at a second life and I was able to find some cute things for my kids at a decent price an minimize retail waste. Also the employees were really nice. read more

I researched store policy online ("Once Upon A Child buys and sells gently used kids' clothes, shoes, toys, and baby gear. Bring in your gently used kids' items and get cash on the spot, or shop around for their favorite brands at affordable prices." ), before taking the items into the store. I double-checked by visiting the store where the sign on the window stated they buy clothing for $$. I was informed that for the Oviedo store, the only form of compensation is store credit My point. Take the sign off the window and change the wording on your website. Please don't judge the clothing by my one star it's the only way I could write a review. read more

I find this store to be pretty overpriced for used items. In the 6-9 month pajama section, I found most items to be $3.50 to $4.50 per pajama, which is surprising considering a 3 pack at target (new) is $15 (so $5 a pajama) not really worth my time to dig and search for quality items if they are priced $1-.$50 less than new. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE OR SELL!!! Please understand how horrible this store is by reading this review! First off I only made an email account that way I could write my 1 star review for this establishment, that's how appalled I am. I wish I didn't even have to give it 1 star, they deserve 0. I arrived with a box full of toys, a lot of Melissa and Doug toys ($$$) and lots of other really awesome toys as well. The owner said it'd be a while until they got to me, no problem. I received a text message that they were ready for me. I arrived and to my surprise they accepted a lot of my toys I brought in! They pretty much took everything besides 2 toys. This was a huge box mind you. The worker brought out my empty box that was once full and showed me all that they would take, pretty much all my toys. I thought awesome! I will receive a decent amount of money back... WRONG. I totally understand they are a second hand shop and they have to make their money but let me prove you wrong with that statement below, read on! The lady took all my toys about 30 and offered me $7.00 yes you read that correctly. I hesitated when she told me.. I felt I was getting ripped off but she was moving and talking so fast I felt pushed to sell it all for $7.00 she handed me the receipt to sign. I looked at it then looked back at the box. I felt rushed then went with my gut to keep 1 toy out of 30 that I really didn't feel comfortable selling for that little I then said "could I take one toy out for keepsakes actually" she then told me "no" I said "I can't just take one toy and you have the rest..?" she said "no" then the manager came over to check on us with the barcode stickers in her hands about to put them on the toys I was donating. She told me "you cannot have that toy back" I said "why can't I have my one toy back? And you keep the rest" she said "I already put it all in my inventory" I said "can you fix it? So I can keep just 1 of my toys please" She said "no you cannot have your toy back.. you can BUY it back but you cannot have it back" (Mind you the box is on the counter, I am still debating on giving them my toys because they are still MINE and I haven't yet made a decision) I replied "I have to buy MY toy back from you??" She said "yes you have to buy it back from me I will not give it back to you, you signed away your rights to these toys" I told her "I have not signed this receipt agreeing to the price so no I did not sign my rights away, please give me back not just that one toy but ALL of them" she then looked at the receipt of me not signing it and finally gave me back my stuff after holding it hostage and threatening me that I had to buy back MY toys!! What a crazy experience I have never ever witness that before. Also, backing up my conversation from earlier stating that yes they are indeed a second hand shop and need to make their money back, when the manager came up to me with the sticker bar codes in her hands about I put them on my toys she was selling one toy for $10! Out of all 30 toys so yes I definitely think and know they could pay us a little more than $7.00! Do better one upon a child, do better! I am so upset with this experience. I felt not welcomed, rushed, misunderstood, ripped off, annoyed, and very upset. Do NOT go here, please warn others! Manager handled this entire situation beyond horrible. You can't hold someone else's personal belongings hostage, tell them they can only buy back their own personal items not decline the stores offer and then proceed to rip them off. I took all my toys back and will now be donating them for FREE. It was never about the money, it was about how poorly this establishment handled this situation. And please manager do not reply to this review.. I have read all your comments back to 1 star ratings and it is very clear you never take accountability for your actions when you do wrong to your costumers.. I never know how to rate a location that's not quite hitting the mark but not BAD. Certain sizes definitely had low inventory which is an issue I don't usually see at the alafaya location (the colonial e. Location is often in the same predicament). I felt like their pricing was off. Certain dresses marked near $10 and then some for $3.50. I'm pretty spot on with my brands and it was just not consistent. It's just like everyone said, they make it very difficult to sell anything to them. Their website says they're open every day and take your sell items daily but they're rarely doing that. Their buy counter is frequently closed. You can only bring one bin per day. They may take a couple of things and give you like $10 total. It's like Plato's for kids. I sold them a large toy object that cost $120, and they gave me $40 for it. That is the most I've ever gotten at once, but I regret it. I could've gotten more on FB Marketplace. I've brought them brand new items with tags on them and when I asked why they didn't take some of the items I brought in the bin, they replied they like new items with tags on them or items that are in good condition. I literally provided that. i've seen themselves some really raggedy, worn out clothing before, so that's hard to believe. The other thing is we've dropped off stuff in the morning and then they call around 7pm saying they've looked through it and we need to pick it up before 8pm or we're not getting it back. Seriously?! At 7pm we're doing the bedtime routine for the kids, we can't leave. And on the nights when my husband isn't home yet, I definitely can't leave. Maybe they know this and take advantage of that? I don't know, but it's not nice. I'd like to say that I won't be shopping there anymore but the prices are really low on some of the things so I'd be lying if I say I won't go back. But I don't know that I will be selling anything to them anymore. It's not worth my time, energy, stress, gas, or mileage. read more

What a fantastic surprise, came across this store really close to my work and while my experiences with once upon a child stores are always different this one has been the best! The store has so much light, it's impeccably clean and organized. I did do a double take when I walked in because of how perfectly organized it was. By far my favorite once upon a child store I have visited to date. The clerk took my bag to inspect the clothes I took to sell while I perused, first you have to check in on the touch screen and enter your license number if you are selling they then ask if you want to be notified once they are done with the process via text or email. Since I was waiting I opted for the text. They took less than 20 minutes to process my sale and I perused and scored some great items that I got to buy with the same amount they gave me for my buy! All in all, toddler shopping will never be the same for me, I have so much clothes for my son and hardly ever does he get to wear it more than once so this is perfect and a much green way to shop and take care of Mother Earth! I love consignment shopping for kids and if you are ever in the neighborhood you should check them out. Your wallet will be happy you did! read more

I have been coming to this Once Upon a Child for years. I have never been overly impressed with it... If you've ever been in there, you know the smell. But, when I turn in my kids' stuff, I typically get enough to go get Starbucks or something. They don't really give you much for your stuff, but my philosophy has always been - something is better than nothing right?! Well, every time I bring stuff in, I wash it and/or clean it immaculately. Sometimes they would take the stuff and sometimes they wouldn't but what's weird is I always noticed the stuff that they do have and if you look at it closely it's quite gross. Well today I brought in a toy, and I decided for the first time ever that I would not wipe it down like I usually do before I bring it in. The girl was absolutely rude to me. She was so snarky she was like you can go ahead and take this toy because I'm not gonna accept it - it's too dirty. I was like well when I bring it in immaculate sometimes you guys don't even take it, and I see some of your stuff and it's not always clean and she's like well I don't know but you need to go home and take this with you and clean it with soap and water because I'm not cleaning it. She was literally talking so rudely to me and her face and body language was so demeaning - and in front of everyone, including my preschooler. I was so embarrassed. I will never step foot in that building again. Besides, the stuff there is actually gross, and you could literally get better and NEW stuff at Walmart, Target, TJ Maxx, Amazon pretty much anywhere for the same price or better since they way overprice their disgusting items. read more

very small store. only allow you to bring one basket . took over $2000 worth of name brand clothes, many very new and they offered $25. I would sooner donate to Goodwill. the whole place is such a scam. No customer service skills. No hello welcome to our store. No thank you have a great day. Have a chip on their shoulder. For a store that relies on others' used items to sustain their business, they make it extremely difficult to sell anything to them. They only accept one bin per day, so when I do a size purge or toy purge I have to come back multiple times on multiple days. Half the time I show up and they've decided they are no longer buying for that day. There is no announcement on their Facebook page, but they tell me I should have checked their Instagram stories. I don't follow them on Instagram. I'm old. Sorry. When they do actually buy stuff, they give pennies on the dollar. I sold an entire bin full of toys to them for $40, but when I came in to collect my cash, they already had a few of my items on the shelves, before I even accepted their offer - one with a $15 tag, one with a $12 tag... Obviously they have to make some profit, but for the hassle they give, I'd be better off just listing my items on Marketplace. But I leave there with fewer things and a few more dollars than I had when I got there, so I guess that's a win. read more
