To any and all small Bussiness that are interested in a loan through On Deck. I was recently contacted by a On Deck loan representative on a complete cold call basis. Not knowing a thing about On Deck the representative started asking me uncomfortable questions about my personal life,my business, and my family. Not knowing this individual, I felt very uncomfortable of such personal questions. Instead of hanging up and being rude I wanted to learn about the company and their quote on quote easy and quick loans. Their loans are complete fraud and misleading!!!!! the extremely high interest rate and the daily payments are insane! You are better of going to your bank, Applying for government loans, lending club or kabbage. On Deck will ask you to send in lots of personal information to your representative to see if you even get approved for an extremely high interest loan that will cost your business lots of money with no return on investment. If for whatever reason your loan does not get approved all of that personal information is in their system unsecured and On Deck will call u everyday until they go bankrupt and out of business. Which is not to far away their stock is down to 8 dollars as of Monday 8-11-15. I created a Yelp account just for this review and I plan on doing more of this on other social sites as well. If you agree with my sentiments in this review, please spread the word so others are informed ahead of time before offering up too much personal info to this company! As you would probably expect when applying for a loan, OnDeck requires private and personal information about you and your business such as your tax id, Social security number, Date of birth, and a minimum of your past 3 months of banking statements, and whatever other confidential materials they deem necessary to make a lending decision. I figured why not, since I am applying for a loan after all so I completely get why they need to do a background check on me. That said, I didn't know the next part.... Whether you are approved or declined from this company they keep ALL OF YOUR PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL records that you send to them on their servers for 7 years or longer!! After they decided I wasn't a fit for their loan I politely requested that they delete all of my personal and confidential records from their systems since I had no intention of returning to them in the future. Can you believe these bastards refused to comply with my request!! All I did was apply for a loan and now they have the right to keep my private banking statements and other confidential information on file!!!! They told me it is due to the "Patriot Act". Well then it should be mandatory and legally required in this age of cyber-crimes that the sales person who you have to talk with to be approved for a loan disclose up front that they will keep all my records in their servers for a minimum of 7 years. This way I can make an educated decision as to my willingness to hand over my information to them under those conditions. So now for the next 7 years if someone from inside or outside their company hacks into their servers all my confidential information including my identity, banking transactions and more is open to some cyber hacker to use for identity theft crimes. That is just insane!! They tell me it is for security purposes that they keep my records. Perhaps that is true but don't you think the consumer is entitled to know this before you start to take from them???? Now I feel stuck! I feel tricked and backdoored into providing some internet company my information without knowing their full intentions and I have to just hope for the next 7 years or longer nothing bad will happen to my identity. They tell me that they have the highest security measures. Have you ever heard of the multi-billion dollar giants like Targets, Home Depot, and SONY? So these massive companies cannot keep hackers out of their servers but OnDeck can??? I own a technology company for 18 years and I know all about these "high security measures". It is complete BS. Even governments have a hard time keeping private information secure but OnDeck has it all figured out! I am shocked that we are not protected under law to request a company remove our personal information especially when I am not a customer of theirs. And if this is for some Patriotic reason, wouldn't you think it would be equally important that the consumer is made aware of this before giving up their information. As I can see everyone seems to have to talk with a sales person from their company so they can get your details yet they are not trained to disclose this??????? Boy am I pissed. Prospects who offer up information for the purposes of being approved for a loan should have the right to request they delete their personal information off their servers without trouble. I have been a customer since 2013. I have been very happy with the service as long as everything goes as planned. I will say if you are not completely ready for events such as severe storms, or health issues DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I found the 217 daily payout too high after many many winter weather closings and some health issues. I understand I agreed after paying the loan I would not be eligible. I am a single mother that relays on my income to support my household. So I am very aware of my budget. However, when you go up for a reconsideration on your loan you are at the mercy of the underwriters will. I have been under the impression I followed the directions to the T of sending in my monthly bank statements by the specified date of the 12th of each month. My loan amount went from a doable 90 a day back to 217 with no notice because I did not provide my credit card processors statement..(I was not asked to) . I got that straightened out, Then on July 21st I had a phone call where I agreed to the amount. August 6th I went to check my bank statement and they reverted back to the amount of 217 starting on the beginning of August. I called in 2 times and spoke to customer service. Both customer service people "promised to look into it and have a manager call me" I have yet to get that call. I was told they would put my account on hold for 10 days as a courtesy and not take any funds from my account. I double checked to make sure the new lower amount would be for 30 days and I was told it was. I asked to speak to Noah, who is the person who responds to these complaints on social media. I have not heard from Noah. This company seems to think they smell blood in the water and will drag you down. Only do them as a plan B if you also have a plan C or a back up. read more

Not very transparent with ending loan date; for 6 months I was told my last payment would be Jan 26, 2018. As I have planned my expenses to that particular date (and any business owner knows of razor thin windows that any disruption can cause damage to reputation and business character) I was incredibly disheartened when in truth the loan repayment was to take another 6 days to completion when I needed and had planned on that money to pay Fed quarterly (that those last 6 payments would have given) and has now been forced to be redirected by lack of truthfulness from OnDeck. I will not use OnDeck again, I suggest any who do insist the amortization OnDeck uses is correct by making the sales people go through it date by date. I was mislead and very unsatisfied. read more

After receiving 6 unsolicited "per-approval" letters from OnDeck, I finally went online and completed the application. The company wanted access to my back account and asked me for my username and password. Being suspicious I decided to contact them on "chat" at their website to ask why. Once I was connected to someone they quickly and without warning denied my loan request stating they didn't do business with my type of business (all of this after receiving 6 per-approval letters from them). Even though I met all the loan requirements easily and didn't need the loan. I was shocked at the low level of professionalism in screening businesses. I guess the joke is on them thought considering my business does 10 times the minimum income requirement. I do not recommend this company unless you are okay with giving out information No-one should ever give out. read more

Beware!!! This company charges an origination fee. Then over 30% interest! Then when things get going well and you want an early payoff, they will only honor a discount for 48 hours!! It takes longer than that to have the money sent! In the mean time, they still collect daily and will owe you a refund! Good luck getting that quickly!! I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy!!! I don't know how I learned of On Deck, but the solicitation came to me and i followed through by phone. I was almost immediately approved. So, the application process was a breeze (for me at least), and I liked the repayment structure of having a set amount debited out of my business acct. each day (as opposed to companies that take a percentage of credit card sales each day). The problem came with renewing the loan. At the initial conversation with their employee I was told that after I had paid down 50% or so of the loan I would be eligible to increase the amount. So, I kinda made business expansion plans (and PURCHASES) based on their word. When I had paid back approx. 60% and my expansion was underway I called to confirm that money was available to me. The woman I spoke to said it was and asked if I wanted to increase the line. I told her to wait and I would call back when i absolutely needed it (like a week later). When I called back I was told that whatever I had been told previously in my conversations with employees they had made a mistake and that I would not be eligible for more cash until my loan was completely paid off...that it was a "special offer" not their typical loan with the increase after 50% pay down. I am thinking it's some kind of weird industry standard for these non conventional funders because I had a similar problem a couple years back with one of the companies that take a percentage of credit card sales each day. Pretty similar scenario; was expanding my company, got an initial loan, paid it back entirely (without a glitch of any sort) and then upon renewal they suddenly got very difficult to deal with (wanted me to switch my credit card processor etc.). In the end I told them to take a hike. It's frustrating because these companies I think are on the right track, they have a better grip on how to evaluate small business than traditional banks do, but then after the relationship is up and going it seems to fall apart, no matter how good it is (which is ironically the opposite of traditional banks where it is typically hard to get started but once a relationship is in place, it gets easier and easier to deal with them). Overall, I would say it's worth a shot here if you need cash, but keep your expectations in check. read more

This is a long story, but I will try to make it short. I applied online and received a call back within 10 minutes of applying. Everything was going great. I was approved and the rate was good. They requested several documents to fund the loan. I emailed my salesperson back letting him know I was unable to get one of the needed documents to move forward and asked if there were any other documents that could replace it. He said he would talk to his underwriting manager and get back to me. He got back a few minutes later and said he could do it with different documentation and a letter from my accountant. I provided all the documents he requested and he said the loan would be funded on Monday. On Monday, I emailed back and forth with my salesperson and he said he was waiting on the funding manager to fund the loan. After being told to hold on and that he was "working on it", no funding came on Monday. I called customer service late Monday and asked what was the status on my loan. He told me they were still waiting on the documents that they told me I did not have to provide. This was alarming! I asked the customer service rep to read the notes on my account and he said there was nothing he could see about me providing different documents to replace the document I didn't have. He told me to contact my salesperson in the morning. I email and called my salesperson Tuesday morning and ask him about it. He then told me the truth and said he was going into a meeting about it and would get back with me after the meeting. The meeting was only 30 minutes according to him. Two hours later, I got an email saying the loan could not be funded because of the missing document that I told him I didn't have and asked for help with. So after 4 days of waiting and jumping through all kinds of hoops, I had nothing but empty promises from an over eager salesperson trying to force something through. I did contact customer support to complain and they asked for the emails from my salesperson. I provided it to them and they said there was nothing they could do and said they were sorry. I turned down two other loan offers because I was told this was a done deal and all I was waiting for was funding (I have email documentation of this!!). So several frustrating hours and several overdraft fees later, I had to go back to the other lenders and apply for a new loan. The pre-approvals from last week were not good anymore, so I had to re-apply and this time they smelled blood in the water and raised the rates on the new loan offers. This has been one of the worst experiences in my life and I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else! I am a small business owner and I know that if one of my employees tells a customer we will do something for them, we are going to do it no matter what! That's just the right thing to do. If they were wrong, then you train them and tell them not to do it again. You don't go back on your word with your customer. Hope this review is helpful for customers and Ondeck. read more

We have used OnDeck several times over the past three years. After trying our local banks who only seem interested in getting a second mortgage on our house we tried this company. Yes the interest rate is high, and they don't offer any pre-payment discount but when you take into account the expenses saved by not needing to involve your accountant or lawyer the fees are pretty similar to the bank. It is a short term loan and is paid off quickly. I do wish they had a way to get a discount if paid before mature. To just put the interest on top of the principal and then amortize the balance is not a true interest calculation. The old rule of 78th which is a real good deal for finance companies. They do make decisions quickly, and i have no experience with other funding sources like paypall or quicken who now offer this same service. Probably will look at them the next time as there needs to be more competition for our dollar. The ideal solution for a small business, growing quickly, and with a good cash flow. If you use the funds to increase business then it works. Use them for easy quick funding of projects that your revenue stream will pay for. read more

On Deck has an interesting concept as far as small business lenders go. They extract a fixed amount from your business account every business day. When you get about halfway paid down and have a good payment history, you become eligible for a renewal with considerably more favorable terms. As you accumulate more renewals, the rates and costs continue to go down. You are also given a personal loan representative. My rep, Sarah Friden, was extremely efficient and professional, as well as being very personable. I highly recommend this lender to small businesses of all types. read more

ondeck helped us with over 260,000 thousand dollars we have had 3 loans with ondeck, but they do not tell the truth about reporting you to the credit business credit bureaus they also say when you have been paying back the loan on time you would be able to have a long term loan well this year we have paid them $481.14 a day times 211 = $101.520.54 plus we made $800.00 dollars in extra payments all in8 months when we asked them on renewal time could we have a monthy payment with more money they said we do not do that? we want to open a school for training next to our office to generate more money for our termite company i will not lie they did help us but they made over $85,000 dollars in intrest we now make over a million dollars a year i just wish we had a traditional loan they promised now we have a 2nd and a 3rd we are paying back $30,000 thousand dollars a month if we had a traditional loan for 3 to 5 years pay back we would be building lots of cash flow and we could take time for training new employees there is a lot of stress paying daily when we have escrows waiting to close well we have around 5 months left and we will be paid off but i will make extra payments every month so we can pay them off early $181,000 thousand dollars and they made $50,000 thousand dollars for this loan i hope the money they made off our company goes to help another small business and yes we are a minority owned mixed business .so i give ondeck 2/1/2 stars because they only got us half way to our goal i just want ondeck to know we will make it with our with out them i hope the would appreciate customers like our small business out here in san diego ca. read more

I complained on 22 Jan. 2014 about On Deck soliciting me for a business loan. They told me to send in an application, bank statements, merchant statements, the works, and then notified me after the fact that it is their policy not to do business with FFL companies. Some suit from the company replied that they understand my frustration, blah, blah. Now, exactly one month later, I have another solicitation from them. Once you get funded, the friendship and 'old buddy' lines go out the window. Be very, very careful as their daily drain on your bank account will sink you. Asked for a moratorium or reduction on daily 'suck' but was ignored and told, "any reduction in daily payment will put you in default even if you pay off the loan. $34500.00 payback for a $25000.00 loan. The company sent me direct mail with an application form. The form had a checkbox for annual revenues less than $100K. I completed the online application and sent in confidential bank statements. Then I received a phone call from a boilerroom call center saying I could not get a loan because our annual revenue is less than $100K. Their advertising pitch is misleading. The application form is an outright fraud as it does not state anywhere that there is a minimum revenue to qualify. What a waste of time this proved to be. And now they have confidential business records in their possession. read more

Why would anyone in their right mind deal with a company that charges an AVERAGE interest rate of 54% - with daily payments of $80 on $10,000? This is loan sharking based on payday lending practices. And they never tell you what the APR is - they state that they charge 9 - 25 cents on the dollar. Very deceiving - do the math. Talk to your accountant. read more

The person who called was very rude and informed me they don't provide loans for "my type" of business and then hung up before I even had time to say anything. I own a business services office. The problem with OnDeck is not their rates. I have a loan with them @ 19% over 9 months. The problem is you're charged the full interest amount ($3800.00 on $20,000.00) the minute you accept the loan. If you pay the loan off on day 2 you're still charged $3,800.00 in interest. I never really thought about it, because I let the first loan go to term. This is very similar to loan sharking!! I'm not even sure it's legal, but my lawyer and I plan to find out. My background is an 11 year Air Force vet, and a very successful 10 year small business owner. I've used OnDeck for two small bridge loans to help me through my Fortune 500 customer's 90 - 120 day payment terms. Never again!!! read more
