I am writing to file a complaint against Sunrise Transportation, the company that transported my 91…read moreyear old father who was in renal failure, congestive heart failure, and suffering from severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder to and from dialysis in his dying days. On Wednesday, January 7th, 2015, Sunshine Transportation picked my father up and brought him to dialysis. When they returned him home, as the two transporters were wheeling his gurney on the concrete pathway to our front porch, they carelessly didn't watch what they were doing and wheeled the gurney onto the grass, catching the back, right wheel then spilling my father on the porch. My family heard the screaming and came out to see my dad sideways on the turned over gurney, screaming in pain. One of the transporters, the heavier, older one, then, against all medical protocol, having no idea if there were broken bones on a man who weighs about 90 pounds, lifted him up in his arms and attempted to carry my father into his room, and as he did slammed his head into the door jam in front of my brother. As the younger one asked my dad for forgiveness and asked to shake his hand, the older heavier one reminded him that they had to leave because they "had other patients". In our home there were four family members to witness and care for my father, and me to pursue this complaint. I wonder, what happens to all the elderly that suffer this kind of treatment and have no one to speak up for them? My father had been in extreme pain, and had difficulty breathing, had very low blood pressure, and a doctor from MyHomeDoctor, Dr. Michele Malow, saw him on January 8th, 2015, and she ordered an X-ray, which was taken the same night. January 9th, 2015, we learned the results. He suffered a cracked rib from the accident. It goes without saying that two people whose job it is to handle a gurney should be able to handle a gurney without spilling a patient, but for one of them to move a fragile man who could have had broken bones? And then, as doing so, refusing help from anyone and slamming his head into the door jam? As a former judge and lawyer, I can tell you that continuing to employ this incredibly incompetent, poorly trained company would no doubt subject everyone to major liability in any lawsuits. He passed away January 12th, and thanks to them, spent his last five days on this earth in pain.

I cannot speak highly enough about Granny Nannies. When my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's…read moreand needed in-home assistance, I did my homework. Granny Nannies was the first company that offered everything we were looking for--and they exceeded all expectations. From the start, the administrative team--including my case manager and the owners, Melvin and Meghan--were consistently responsive, supportive, and genuinely invested in my mother's care. My mother shares her home with her 93-year-old partner, who also has dementia, and Granny Nannies understood the complexity of caring for both of them. Our primary caregiver, Marie A., was truly exceptional. With over 20 years of experience, she brought not only professionalism but deep compassion and warmth to her work every single day. Marie cared for all of their needs--providing physical and emotional support, managing doctor appointments, coordinating care, and keeping the household running smoothly. Her presence brought peace of mind to our whole family. She supported them through a wide range of challenges, including a broken hip, anxiety, depression, and the daily realities of dementia. Marie consistently went above and beyond in every way, and we are endlessly grateful for her dedication. We were also fortunate to have Anna G. assist Marie at times. Anna is sweet, warm, and caring--her gentle presence brought additional comfort and kindness to the home. She and Marie worked together beautifully to provide consistent, high-quality care. We feel incredibly lucky to have had such a remarkable team by our side during such a difficult and emotional time. I wholeheartedly recommend Granny Nannies to anyone seeking compassionate, professional, and truly outstanding care for their loved ones.

I would like to do a review of caretakers from Granniesnannies. I recently had the pleasure of…read moremeeting Annabel Fernandez who spent two weeks with me because of an injury. Annabel is a very caring professional. She exudes happiness and helped to cheer me up which, I think, helped me to heal. Always helping me with my needs even in the middle of the night and with a smile on her face. I also had a wonderful experience with Thaura Abdalia for several months. Thaura, also very professional and helpful and she is a gentle soul. Always willing to do whatever I asked to be helpful to me. Easy to talk to and my little dog picked up her good vibes and like to hang out by her, she'd get excited to see her when she arrived. I only saw Elizabeth Cruz for three days but I liked her immediately. Also very professional, and couldn't do enough to make sure my every need was taken care of. I would recommend any of these ladies, they would not disappoint. Granniesnannies apparently hires only the best. The company itself needs a little revamping of organizational skills and better technology to track things. This is the reason I gave only 4 stars. The caretakers would get 5 stars.
