So I had my first homeowners accident and created a dent in my wall. I originally hired someone else through a relative's referral to fix this for me but it went horrible and got worse and now my wall not only still has a visible dent but now an extra giant glaringly white square patch along with a couple of white round patches from texture spray. Needless to say I was furious and upset and very anxious to get this fixed, while also on the verge of just giving up. Not only do I need to fix the dent but now I also need to touch up the paint... I found Vince on Yelp and he was very responsive, knowledgeable, and positive. Vince was quick to give me a quote and to schedule a day asap. No frills. Quick and to the point. He assured me that he can touch this up no problem, so I hired Vince to fix my wall. I can tell Vince is ready to get things done and this is exactly what I'm looking for. We originally scheduled for Friday morning, but Vince calls me on Wednesday asking for a reschedule to Thursday morning instead. No problem, the sooner to get rid of the eyesore the better for me! I appreciated Vince calling ahead and rescheduling. Thursday morning comes and Vince calls me when he's on the way and gets to work immediately. To be honest, I was mentally preparing myself for the worst due to the fiasco from the previous guys work... but! Vince said one thing that really made me have faith again and he said "I would not take a job that I wasn't confident in." This really reassured me on Vince's workmanship and professionalism. We get the paint and Vince gives me tips on keeping the code of the paint in case I ever need some more touch up in the future. When the job was finished, Vince made sure I approved of it and also went above and beyond to help me touch up extra spots in my house. I really appreciated Vince's attention to detail and commitment to his expertise. He double checked, triple checked to make sure everything matched. His eye for perfection is more precise than mine and this here is the best quality a homeowner can ask for! Vince also took care of cleaning up and putting my things back. He would always ask before doing something, such as throwing away trash, washing up, whether or not to take off shoes, etcetc. These are all small things but it really shows his respect for my house. This is rare!!! Vince really cares about his business and is extremely honest. These are the two qualities that I look for! On top of this, Vince is also very friendly and pleasant to talk with. He takes his time to make sure that it's done right and will do what he needs to do to ensure quality work! He even went to Home Depot in the middle of the job to buy a new stud finder because his wasn't acting consistent! Will be calling him again when I need other things done around the house. This is a slightly overdue review, but I wanted to give it a little time to make sure the work was holding up. I contacted Vincent about installing two side gates at my parents' house. He had great communication via phone initially, and my impressions were further validated upon meeting him in person when he came by to provide the quote. Miraculously, he was able to start almost immediately He went to Home Depot and purchased the materials on my behalf. And he got to work right away. He took the time to explain the setup and why he was custom building the gates the way he was. When I checked in with my parents a few weeks later and found a couple of things of concern, Vincent was very responsive and returned to my parents' house to make adjustments. The gates look great, and seem very sturdy. Best part is that if something doesn't seem right in the future, I know Vincent will come back! Don't waste your time or money on these two con artists! I hired Vince to redo an apartment that was recently vacant. Vince started off great, said it would be 1 1/2 weeks, turned out to be a month and a half. I admit, I asked Vince to do a little more, HE added to the price, but at the end, their work is no where near "eye for detail" and their work is sloppy! They have horrible work ethics, bankers hours 11:00 to maybe 4, and they don't do weekends. The very last text to Vince, I once again reiterated the need for all receipts and an itemized invoice (which I still haven't received) for all work and supplies that I paid for as work progressed. The funny part is that I used 2 capitalized words to emphasize that need, and Vince became irate and all work stopped! Just short of throwing himself on the floor and crying like a big baby (imagine a grown man Vince'a size doing that, haahaa) because I didn't leave the final check for him, EVEN tho the work wasn't finished. At this point, all I wanted was for Vince and Jason (his partner) to just finish what was agreed upon and go. Vince was done, didn't even have the courtesy to say anything but just deserted the work. His partner Jason tried to make up for Vince's little paroxysm and promised to finish up saying, "he is a man of his word," NOT so much!! NOWHERE near men! One and Done are just thieves and they definitely don't have an eye for detail. Do yourselves a favor and keep looking for other handy men, Vince and Jason can't hold up to their end of an agreement. read more
