First of all, shout out to our very attentive server Dylan, you're the best! The ambiance is so cozy! From outside the place looks like a regular square small restaurant but you go inside, you feel like you are in different dimensions. Kudos to the concept designer! Classy inside! Now let's talk about food. We went there for a brunch. Started with refreshing iced tea. The tea has a refreshing burst of somewhat guava like flavor. Not strong guava flavor just a hint... really refreshing. Good choice of drinks. Truffle fries is so good... lots of cheese! I ordered the breakfast sandwich it has bacon, egg avocado aoili, and urugula. First bite? whoa! different ... not your usual bacon egg sandwich. Note im not a sandwich person but this one is light. Came here with a party of 8 and booked one of the "Friday & Saturday" Tent Experiences for a fun group night out. The restaurant itself has a casual outdoorsy vibe with lots of smaller tables, but they also had two tent setups for larger groups which made our dinner feel a little more private and special. We were seated promptly and Madison took great care of us throughout the evening. We started with a bunch of shared appetizers and flatbreads for the table. Favorites of the night were definitely the Elote-Style Cauliflower (so flavorful and delicious!!) and the Wildflower Cornbread Muffins which were honestly fantastic. The Forager's Truffle Flatbread was also really good -- nice truffle flavor without being overpowering. The Award-Winning Truffle Fries were decent, and the Lodge Pretzel Board was okay too; the mustard butter was great but the alpine cheese dip didn't really wow us. We also tried the Artichoke and BBQ Chicken Flatbreads which were both solid choices for sharing with a group. One thing we noted though was that besides the flatbreads, the "Basecamp Mains" section was completely non-vegetarian, which was why we ended up doing only shared appetizers instead of trying out the entrees as half our group was vegetarian and did not have any options to choose from. We ended up skipping dessert since none of the options really stood out to us and headed elsewhere for sweets afterward. Stumbled upon this place while looking for some happy hours in North Park. This place is located on the corner of 30th and very assuming from the outside, however when you walk in it's like you've been transported to a little campground. The inside is so cute with tent coverings over tables that make it feel like you're eating a cozy meal out in the woods. The decor is beautiful with greenery around the restaurant and the food even comes in cast iron pans or on wooden slabs. My husband and I came on a weekday for the happy hour. They sat us right away and allowed us to choose where we wanted to sit. The waiter and waitress were great. They were super helpful, prompt, and went back and forth between the bar and our table. We ordered off the happy hour menu and got a flatbread, pretzel platter, and truffle fries. It was surprisingly very filling. The flatbread was more pizza like in my opinion with a doughier crust but with a lot of flavor and not too heavy. The fries were delicious with truffle and garlic flavors. The waiter gave us a side of their Caesar dressing as well as we asked for ranch and this was closest thing they had to it. It also came with another aioli like sauce that I really liked too. The pretzel was huge and came with two sauces- a cheese sauce and a honey mustard butter like dip. The butter was whipped and surprisingly nice with a hint of sweetness that balanced the mustard taste. The pretzel itself was a bit dry so the sauces were very necessary. My husband also ordered a beer from the happy hour menu but got charged the regular price. We didn't realize until after we already had our card swiped but it wasn't a big difference so we just paid it since everything was already pretty cheap. But will be checking the charges before we pay next time just in case! Overall, great experience at One Door North with delicious food. I came to One Door North with a few local friends - were all drawn in by the cute theme and robust menu. The restaurant is really worth all the hype, I think they've made it even more decorated in the past few years. We made a reservation but it probably wasn't necessary on a Tuesday night, it was pretty slow. We got two caesar's (one with chicken, one without) and a truffle flatbread. The caesar was good - very fresh lettuce and flavorful croutons but quite salty. I might do light dressing next time. We stayed for a few hours and chatted and used the trivia cards at the table for a make-your-own trivia night. I'd recommend this spot to anyone! One Door North mimics the outdoors by giving its space a very "camp" vibe. The wallpaper is of a forest, making you feel like you are dining in the outdoors...but inside! They have 3 tented spaces, literal tents, that further enforce that camping vibe! It's a really awesome concept, albeit a bit dark, especially for the furthest corner tent. The chandelier in ours was just not bright enough, unlike the tents next to us for whatever reason. We had a party of 10, so I guess that also contributes to the wait time. We ordered the Mac n Cheese, truffle fries, and Elote style cauliflower as our starters! Everything tasted okay, but it wasn't like crazy write home good. The truffle fries were a bit lacking IMO, and I thought the Elote cauliflower would be more of a slam dunk. Didn't dislike anything, but didn't love it either. They open at 4 pm on weekdays and 1100am on weekends. Our server was Gino, the bartender, who was very nice and some great cocktails. I had the old fashion, which was very good with the higher end bourbon. The food we ordered was amazing! Starters were Elote-Style Cauliflower gf and Mini Cornbread Muffins. Our party of 7 was seated in the far corner under a cozy white tent and cozy lighting. Our server suggested we could sub out one of the apps/dessert for a drink, then share starters or the sweets, so we all got a nice cocktail. My friends enjoyed their tequila drinks and I thought my F+G gin was delightful with the egg white. Not weak either. I tried the salmon and it was good with the grapes and sauce. Personally, the short rib rigatoni lacked a bit in meat quantity, there were only shreds of very mushed beef. The rigatoni itself was very nicely done. The goat cheese cheesecake was the fav dessert for all. No strong cheese flavor, not too dense, but still substantially rich. Great with strawberries and cream. The cast iron cookie was cold and dry, even if the taste was good. The starters of Brussels and elote style cauliflower were delicious, especially the cauliflower in my opinion. Fries are crunchy, they have aioli. Overall there are some nicely done taste profiles, but I feel the value could be better if I was considering this place as a solo diner- I was left a little hungry after $50. I booked a private event for a company celebration and I couldn't be happier with One Door North! We were looking for a venue to host our celebration for 20 people on a Wednesday night. I sent inquiries two weeks before the event which I was nervous about since it was a little rushed on my part. The event coordination staff Tammy and Tiffany were very quick to respond to my inquiries and were highly flexible and accommodating in matching our budget and our needs. We requested audio and video capabilities somewhat last minute as well and Tammy didn't hesitate to provide the necessary equipment and pull everything together for us. The food and service were exceptional. The restaurant itself is super cute when you walk in which helped to liven the mood for our event. Our company name was printed on our event menu which I thought was a very nice personal touch. Our server Sharine was warm and friendly and checked in on our group with a perfect balance between giving us space and making sure our needs were taken care of. She also made sure that guests knew alcoholic beverages would be on individual tabs without making anyone feel pressured. It was clear that she was experienced in attending to large groups. She kept everything running smoothly for us the whole night. 10/10, Sharine was amazing!! Our dinner included family style caesar salad and cornbread muffins, entree choice between their seasonal pasta, half roasted chicken, and coastline salmon, and family style cookie served with ice cream for dessert. It took a while for the entrees to come out, which in my experience is universal for groups of this size. Despite the large group, the food remained high quality, and I was very impressed. The caesar salad was delicious and the croutons were extra crunchy. The cornbread muffins were a favorite amongst our team with a crispy top and paired perfectly with honey butter. I had the half chicken for dinner which came with risotto and broccolini, and it was absolutely amazing. The chicken was mostly deboned (I think only the thigh bone was left?) and served with the skin, leaving it super tender and flavorful. I was pleased with the deboning which made it very easy to eat. The risotto was also top notch, perfect texture and perfectly seasoned. The cookies were served in the pan, perfect to share, and had a delicious crunchy edge. I've attended a lot of business dinners for a party around this size and I was truly blown away by our experience here. They made our celebration a memorable experience. If you have a group, sit at the tented tables, otherwise, standard dining instead of high tables. We sat at the high tables and the bartender took care of us, however, we had a long wait time for food and drinks. We were able to play Uno to pass the time as there is a slot connected to the table with cards. For food, I had the 1/2 chicken, which had grits and broccolini for sides. The portion size in this dish was pretty sizable, enough that I couldn't finish! The au jus sauce coated throughout the dish was delicious. My boyfriend had the short rib rigatoni and he enjoyed it. For drinks, you must get the She's A Star! I was looking for that foamy, citrusy taste in a cocktail that I was expecting from the F and T drink but it fell short, and She's A Star delivered. TLDR - rudest front of house we have encountered in years. Booked an anniversary dinner and were super excited! We ran a little behind, but ran as quickly as we could assumed we were still within the customary 15 min grace period. We checked in with the front of house specifically mentioning our anniversary reservation and were told to wait for our table -- then 15 min later, nary a menu or updated estimate given, and still waiting for a table to clear up, we checked again and were told our original table was given away to a walk-in. When I asked why we weren't told that crucial information when we checked in, the front of house staff snarkily said "you checked in at 6:17" ie. 2 min past the grace period. The tone was genuinely offensive and we walked out immediately. Look, I respect needing to be timely, and if we had been told our table was gone I would have honored that BUT it was honestly disrespectful for the ODN staff to be as rude as they were and not be honest about the new wait time upfront. GM, please train your staff. We walked down the street and had a lovely meal elsewhere. Literally the least you can do if you won't host a customer is to let them eat elsewhere sooner, than later. read more

But then we sat for over 20 minutes before anyone stopped by our table at all. No water, no drinks, no questions, nothing. Finally I caught a server's attention & she asked if we had been helped yet. We informed her that we hadn't and she just said "oh no" and she'd be right back. I assumed it was to go grab our server, but she returned herself to wait on us. No apology or anything. She asked us if we wanted to start with drinks (we did) and I asked if we could go ahead and put our order in for the appetizers to get things moving. She told us no, we could not. That we'd have to wait and order everything together (all 3 courses) at the same time. Really? So we just hurried up and quickly picked our dessert just so we could get an appetizer order in. Then we watched the 2 tables next to us order course by course. We assumed that at least that meant the food would come out very quickly, as the entire order was already in. Nope. We sat for some time waiting for our entrée after we were done with our appetizer, and our dessert took so long to come out that we finally flagged our server down just asked for her to prep it to go before she brought it out. We were given with a comment card to fill out and, unbelievably, all the selections were already filled in. Every box marked "Excellent" and a "Yes" on would we recommend this place. The server remarked that we could win $50 if we "filled out" the rest of it. That's about as close to buying reviews as I think you can get, imo. Her parting words to us were, "Hopefully you guys come back another night and you can get waited on right away." No, thank you.
