It was Cinco de Mayo and absolutely no Mexican places were still offering food during this crazy pandemic. All I wanted was a margarita! Then I remembered hey OEJ follows me on Insta and they had $3 margaritas - sign me up! We called and got there ten minutes later. The owner (didn't catch his name) came outside friendly as ever with our drinks. They looked so good that we immediately ordered two more and in less than 5 minutes he was back outside with two more margaritas. The drinks were good, the service is friendly. They have had tons of specials during this pandemic and constantly update their social media. They're also open late which is a rarity during this crisis, as most other places are only staying open until 8PM most days. read more

"One Eye Jacks" wasn't a place that was on my radar of must visits. But my brother heard from a friend they were worth a visit. When preparing for my Super Bowl party, left me out in the cold too long, Jack was a stop to warm up and refuel. The place was just opening so nothing was ready. My brother asked if they were serving and the bartender said, sorry they had just opened and the grill wasn't ready. I thought to myself, the sign outside said lunch and dinner, so clearly someone showed up late. He gave us a menu. Clearly we felt we were holding up his process. We decided to go elsewhere and eat. I want to state for the record, the bartender was extremely cool, but when you want to prepare you don't want to hear people asking for stuff. A great bar. The owners and staff are good people. Bill, is one of the Hardest working bartenders you'll ever meet. My buddies and I go there regularly to watch sports. Multiple flat screens so you won't miss a game. If you like cold beers and hot wings on a football Sunday you won't be disappointed. If you're a NY Red Bulls fan then this is your spot as it's the only official Red Bulls bar on Long Island. You'll find me there for all away games. On Saturday, October 17, 2020, I went to a pop up show at One Eye Jacks. I had purchased sixteen tickets to the show. We had two tables at the venue. The waitress informed us that we had to purchase two drinks or a meal. The parties at my table complied and purchased $60 plus dollars of food and drinks. The manager came to our table in the middle of the show to reprimand me and my group. She informed us the "$20 dollars we paid goes to the performer and they have to make money too." She continued to advise us of the NYS rules for COVID. She was loud, abrasive, and rude. Everyone at the show was staring at our table. She came back and informed us that the message was not meant for our table but for the other table. I explained it was too late. We had been embarrassed and our evening was ruined. I would see the show again but not at One Eye Jacks. Thank you for your reply. But we were not trying to hurt your business. We were supporting your business. Perhaps posting a sign would have been helpful stating a two drink minimum an/or food. Two people in my party did not order food because the waitress said two I drinks or a meal. So they ordered two sodas. The four ladies at the end of both of my tables ordered drinks and meals. After your wife/ manager yelled at us she apologized stating it was the wrong table, No worries. Im not going to say anything that this place isnt, but if you are waiting for a table next door at Popei's, it's worth walking in here to grab a drink. The place is almost completely redone inside, and me, my sister, and her husband were rather surprised with it. We spoke to the owner, or one of the owners, not sure if it's just him or if he has partners, seemed like a nice guy. Told us about what they redid inside, how quickly they did it, (6 days, i'll give it to em for getting it done so quickly), etc etc. Look, would I go here for the night and get hammered, probably not.. Nice little Dive Bar in the middle of Long Island. The drink specials are pretty awesome including their $2 jello shots. Coming from the city seeing prices like that gets me excited. I ordered four jello shots a long Island iced tea and a rum and coke and paid less than $30. However the drinks are not the reason why I went this night. They have open mic nights Monday to Friday and Afton was hosting an event with some musical artists. My little nephew was one of the performers so it was cool for him to have a stage to show off his talents. There were approximately 25 to 30 people in the building so not a packed house but still a good amount of people. That being said I wouldn't want to come here if they were a lot more than 25 to 30 people because it was starting to look cramped. I must say this place is by far one of the greatest bars I have ever been to. The staff goes above and beyond to Make sure you have an amazing experience during these unprecedented times. I can see why they were voted best bar on Long Island. The cocktails were so delicious and they had a great beer selection. The fun joey specialty drink was so good and they had amazing quesadillas. I'm not going to give this place a one-star review because that would not be fair to the people who own and run this place, but I was not impressed by One Eye Jacks. It was small and cramped and filled with Dudebros. It felt to me like the college bar that caters mainly to underage drinkers (whether or not that's true I don't know). It was all thumping music (The DJ that night was creating painful mash-ups) and a mass of people all shoved together. Call me a party pooper, I don't care. Maybe my mistake was offering to be the designated driver, because everyone I came with (Read: smashed before heading there) was having a great time. Things like not having any room to yourself or ear-drum-shattering music don't phase most people (myself included) after a few drinks. Good people. Shit bar. I dunno if they can't afford a bigger place or something but it is way to small for what they want to be... It's always good people and the bartenders are nice but its always overcrowded. It's practically a club experience condensed in to a hallway. Its just really uncomfortable and cramped. I will say however that the jello machine they have is super dope and should totally bring this place to a four but the fact the place is a size of your college dorm room really ruins the entire experience. read more

Really not good food. The wings were dry. The loaded potato skins should have been called "mini" potato skins they were microscopic. They say they have great sliders......nah, Burger King does a better burger than these. Do yourself a favor a keep it moving to the next place. Probably the grossest dive I've been to around here. Plenty of better places local, with better prices. The food is junk, I generally don't expect much to begin with from dives, but man don't come to this place hungry. Which shows in the cleanliness. Maybe it's cause it's been summer, but something tells me there shouldn't be that many bugs and crud in the back. Not even my biggest issue, the older guy that run's the bar... Someone should tell the owner, he's a total low life, I couldn't believe how he spoke to customers here, myself included. The guy serves drinks in a stained t shirt. I'm not sure if he just doesn't wash his clothes, or he doesn't bathe, cause you can smell him a foot away. No amount of booze can cover that reek. Its a small local bar they make this out to be an upscale top notch bar. First off they have a 5$ cover to get in to listen to bands that NOBODY wants to hear. Who would pay 5$ to go to a local bar most big spots on Long Island dont have a cover even with a band or a dj. There is never a crowd in there maybe thats one of the reasons. Next up is their disgusting food probably microwaved packaged food. The soda off the fountain tastes terriblle. staff is very rude. I went to Drag Bingo on Saturday October 17,2020. The show was good and I enjoyed the two artist. However, the serve at the venue was truly horrible and I will never ever go back there. I was part of a party of 16 people and we took up two tables. When we were seated the Waitress came up and said we told that we had to order two drinks or one drink and food. I made a point of asking if the drinks had to be alcoholic or not. I explained that I don't drink and would only be ordering Soda. She said that was fine and I ordered Ginger ale. As the night progress, the cook came out and went to the other table in my party and started yelling at them that they had to ordered food. The money we paid to get in goes to the preformers and we had to buy food it was some law. She was ranting and raving and embrassed them in front of everyone who was at the show. It was truly unnecessary and she was in correct because they had ordered food. My table was the table that had not ordered food. We didn't ordered food based on the information that we were given when we sat down. After that very unprofessional display the waitress came back to our table and told use we had to order food which we did. the final insult of the night was when the bill came and we were over charged. She charged for two drinks when we only had one. It is truly disheartening that in this time of a pandemic and the ability to gather is limited to be treated this way. I will never ever go back to one eyed jacks and say to all who go in the future order lots of food so you won't be publicly humiliated and then check your bill carefully so you won't be over charged. read more

It's super clean and they always have awesome specials like 2 for 5 dollar PBR, delicious fishbowls that have lots of liquor, and these crazy huge drinks that smoke from dry ice and have candy lollipops!!! It's so cool! My favorite part of one eye jacks is lady's night. LADIES DRINK FREE 9-12 NO COVER. How can you go wrong?!? Beer, liquor, and wine free! All of my friends buy the huge beer towers that are sold at a great price. There's a dj Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights that mixes up the play lists targeting all different genres. Unbelievable time at One Eye Jacks. Great prices, great tunes and an even better atmosphere. Perfect spot to pop in for a quick drink while waiting for your table over at Popei's - if you do find yourself here for a drink, I highly suggest trying the Fun Joey. After your meal at Popei's, definitely go back in for the late crowd here - the house DJ (Chris) does a remarkable job on the turntables - if your lucky he might bust out his rendition of Piano Man! And if your jam from 1997 happens to come on (which I guarantee it will), don't be afraid to hop on the mic and belt some verses out!! As for sporting events, I have yet to be there for one but they have a plethora of TVs and great specials so I'm more than sure I'll be there soon - hopefully to watch some New York teams win!! read more
