I've been to the Nutty Irishman a few times. I find the staff to be welcoming, the beers tasty, and the food very satisfying.

Very good experience on a Saturday night if you want to experience it lots of people and the ambiance is great and very busy .

All in all, a good time. Free drink offered for your birthday was a nice touch. The DJ and then live band did a great job providing the music, and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect. A bit of a younger crowd but definitely a good spot in Farmingdale. Drinks were strong so worth the price. read more

My husband and I went there last night, 2/4/21, for the Harry Potter pop up, and it was great. They enforced masks and having their customers be 6 feet apart. They also had barriers in between their customers. The waitstaff had gloves and masks on the whole time. read more

I've been coming to the nutty since 2013. A place to come once the night has started and you need a good dance place to shake your butt with your friends. I went for Santa Con 2019 and this place changed my whole view. I know most people in Long Island don't know much about international identification but as a bouncer and a business you should know valid id. I was asked to leave after presenting a valid US government issued work permit, fully scanable and Real Act ID certified. I have a normal drivers license but I had lost it and in the interim I was using my work permit as ID, as I've done many times over the years at many other bars. When presented with my work permit, instead of the bouncer saying they've never seen a work permit before, he looked confused and passed it to the bouncer next to him. This bouncer then proceeded to tell me this was not a valid form of ID. When I asked how come, I was told to present an alternative ID. If I had an alternative ID I would have brought it, I only brought cash to minimize my spending but offered a photograph of my now lost drivers license to prove it was me. The bouncer proceeds to tell me that won't do, my ID was not valid government ID and I needed something else to corroborate that I was who I said I was. I said, "sir, this is a valid government it has the department of homeland security contact on it". He said I needed something else with my name. I left the line and came back. I said I have a digital insurance card with my name and info. He said that was not good enough. I needed to enter this bar in order to get my wrist bands for Santa Con, I said sir this has homeland securities' info on it and IT'S SCANABLE. At this point I'm at a loss. He said no you can't come in. So I said I'd like a refund of my prepurchased tix. He told me he would send a manage out but I had to leave. It's raining and this is the only place with an awning to wait. I said I'll wait here for your manager. He said I was trespassing and then confiscated my ID! A legal government ID. I was now upset and almost crying. I need my refund as well as my ID to go to all the other bars in Farmingdale for the trail. I told him he couldn't do that and he said "then call the cops". Lucky for me my friend was with me to witness the whole ordeal and called on my behalf. After telling them I called the police they accused me of being uncooperative and trespassing. I was told, you have to leave you're on private property. Sir all you have to do is issue my refund and give me back my LEGAL ID and I'll leave. I was told I was rude and disrespectful because I was asking for more information on why my ID wasn't valid. I was told I was being uncooperative because I called the police--like they told me to. I was then told he wouldn't give back my ID and he and all the other bouncers will speak to the cops. I'm 27 years old with a legal form of identification, I said and I want either my wrist band or my money back. He said he had reason to believe I wasn't who I said I was. How convenient. Before it was because it wasn't valid government ID now it's because they NOW feel I'm not who my ID says I am. I said that's not what you said before. This is a valid government ID. To which he said it isn't. I was enraged, "why, because this was an ID you've never handled before??" I was told he's seen plenty of ID like mine before. So I asked so why is it not valid?? and I never got a response. Only after calling the cops and waiting outside for them was I able to get my ID back because they realized their error. Which could have been solved had they just SCANNED my ID in the first place! Honestly the worst way to start what should be a great day of fun because you don't know what constitutes a basic ID! I have only been to Nutty Irishman a few times and only to hear selected live bands. There stage area is in the most rear of the bar with plenty of room to dance or just stand and watch. There is a bar off to the right of the band besides the bar as you walk into the front of the pub. They also have great prices for beers after 10pm usually. My close friends band was playing for the first time at this pub and I wanted to be there to support him. They performed from 8pm to 10pm and the late night band came on from 10pm till 12 midnight. We stood in the back of the dance floor by the sound system booth. The sound system seemed adequate, but could have been better if my friends band had their own sound person. read more

The drinks, atmosphere, live music was nice about this place . The only dislike I had was the rude bar tender we encounter . A friend of mine went up to the bar and raised his hand to order drinks , as many people were doing that night . The lady looked annoyed , but we thought maybe she was having a bad shift . I like this place. Even though I have only been to the nutty Irishman a few times and they've all been with an event I really enjoyed this establishment. You walk in to a big bar with plenty of seating. A nice place... big and bright with the big windows. You go to the back room which is much larger with a bigger bar and big area for dancing with a stage for the band. The band has always been playing in this place and it's definitely rocking. They had a buffet area set up with people serving the food and there's still plenty of room for people to get up mingle and dance. Now let's get to the bar part of this review. Plenty on tap to choose from just about anything I've looked for I've always found. The food is always good. I've had some great barbecue chicken, sausage and pepper, and ziti. It was good tasty and hot. Clearly this is a fun place to throw party. What I like about the nutty Irishman is that there is enough light so you can see what you're doing and it's dark enough to be comfortable. Did I mention the bar outback with a nice big seating area. This is a really cool place that has it all. If you're in the village of Farmingdale come by I'm sure you'll be happy that you stopped in for a few minutes sat and enjoyed a cold one. read more

This Saturday afternoon I was bar hopping with my Irish friend Brein in Farmingdale Village. I saw the Nutty Irishman Pub on Main Street, with the American and Irish Flags waving atop. I thought of The 2 Brothers, standing side by side. As my friend Brien from Ireland had reminded me. He said, we stand side-by-side as brothers, America and Ireland. I agreed as we continued to toast the friendship. He spoke about how the Irish built New York City and joked about the well-known photo of all the mostly Irish construction workers sitting on the I-beam. Inside the Nutty at the bar, I could see right away that this was a place where Guinness was the champion of beers here. Great I'm digging a Guinness Black and Tan, let's make it with an "On Tap" Shock Top. Cool! I wanted to try the food here too, so I ordered the Giants hot, spicy buffalo wings and the bacon cheese fries. The Appetizers came out quickly, the Giant wings nice and big with plenty of sauce. They could have had more spice asI'm really used to hot stuff, but they were still very good. The Bacon cheese fries appetizer featured standard shoe strings with a cheese whiz topping and real bacon pieces. With cool ranch topping, this was a good pickin bar plate. I'll have to stop back here for the nightlife. Hope I'm not too old for this rocking Crowd, but hey I'm in the cool generation that invented Rock. Excellent service from the bartender. I Came in around 6 for a steak and a beer. I was served pretty quickly but the steak itself was unseasoned, bland and I asked for rare and instead I got medium. I didn't complain I just ate as I was in no mood to cause an uproar, tipped, and left. The Mac and cheese was a disaster as it was a microwave special. Wings were pretty tasty. This place is quite interesting, your basic everyday Irish pub in the front with a huge space for a band and music in the back. I didn't eat here, just had 1 drink and that was enough. I accidentally strolled in on country night which happens to have a cover but only if you are going to the back where the band and music is. The crowd was generally older, and there were not a lot of people there (though I might have been early). Could turn into a fun place to go out if it gets a bit busier later on. As far as the drinks went I decided to stick with beer, there were just a few fruit flies buzzing around. Ordered a pale ale which the taste was a bit off (sweetwater 420 I'd had it previously). Sunday football! What a great day it is. I'm no stranger to "The Nutty Irishman" But it's my first time at this location. We were the first to arrive and right away I was pleased. TV's everywhere and plenty of comfortable seating. They had sport playing already with sound. That's great! A lot of places play music up until the game. The waitress, Nikki, was truly incredible. She was on point and friendly. We asked for the TV to be played at our booth and she took care of it immediately. Once we ordered we sat and waited for the wings. I wasn't planning on them being so good, I mean i know them for being a club. But when those masterful wings came out, I was amazed. They instantly became a top five wing spot. Not to mention the fifty cent wing special. It made for a great deal. At half time it was time for a burger. I settled on something simple. But when it came out, it was anything but. The burger was juicy and the bacon was crunchy. They also used plenty of cheese (did I ever mention I love cheese), so you know I was happy. I truly couldn't believe how good all the food was. However the fact that they let a man in -who keeps taking advantage of patrons there, and let him keep taking advantage of people(while they know he is doing it) is disgusting. This review is solely based off the Elf pop up brunch. The reservation required payment in advance, which they added tax and gratuity onto the prices shown online and charged. I had to call and find out why my cc was higher than expected. Anyway. We walked into a room filled with Christmas themed decorations. The drinks were good, and the elf servers came around often to refill our mimosas. I ordered the special mimosa: naughty or spice and it was really good! The brunch itself was not good. We were the last table to be called (social distancing!) but the food was just ok. There was nothing special about it. Went to the Wasted Wizard pop up brunch for my birthday last week and it did not disappoint!! All of the staff members were so friendly and kept up with all COVID safety procedures from what we saw. Our waitress was awesome and also very accommodating, a member in our group is pregnant so the waitress made her some fun non-alcoholic drinks so she wouldnt feel left out! The food was served buffet style but I felt incredibly safe eating. The staff served you while wearing masks and gloves and they only called one table at a time so there was no overlapping of groups. Also all the tables were socially distanced and had plastic dividers separating the tables. The food was pretty good (nothing super crazy) but the drinks were awesome!! All the drinks were Harry Potter themed and tasted great! The best part of the event (besides getting to watch The Sorcerer's Stone on a big screen while I sat in what felt like the Great Hall) was that I got to do magic with Harry Potter himself!! I go to this bar a fair amount on both Friday and Saturday nights and can honestly say I've never had a bad night! There's usually a live band one night during the weekend and all of them have been great. When there isn't live music there is usually a DJ to keep up the energy. The drinks are good and fairly priced with specials and deals depending on the night. Came here for the food for the first time a couple of weeks ago and can say the burger was better than expected. I frequented this place in my 20's. Loved their ladies nights on Fridays and always had the best time. The Dj and bands were great to dance to. Recently came back in my 30's and still just as fun and I happily wasn't the oldest one there. I also had my sons first birthday party catered here and it was fantastic. This has been and continues to be the go-to for me and my friends if we are looking to go out for a night out of drinks and dancing. We've been coming here for the past 4 years and have plenty of memories to speak to and good times! The younger crowd (20/30 years old) seems to come in around 11pm. There is a visible age change over between 10pm and 11pm. The specials are good and the place is fun! I highly suggest going to the Nutty for any girls night or group night out! I do go here occasionally. I like the scene and the room to dance. After all the times I've been here, I had a bad experience last night. I gave the bouncer (tall, older man in age) my ID to check. While he was checking I turned to answer someone's question and he told me to shut up and look at him while he's checking my ID. I was taken back from the disrespectful tone and statement. In which I said excuse me? And he repeated himself. I understand you have to see someone's face but to be told to shut up and look after turning quickly to answer someone was unexpected and extremely disrespectful. He ended up calling me back over to get closer to my face and to not apologize but say I should respect bouncers. I've been coming here for years and its great for happy hour, parties, dancing, concerts, all of that! On the weekends, earlier in the night is more of an older crowd and toward 10ish grabs the younger crowd with bands playing every weekend. 2 bars- one regular bar in the front and one huge square bar in the back by the stage. They have good bar picky food and always have deals goin on. Wouldn't call it a sports bar but its a good spot to come with a group of friends to hang and grab some beers and wings! read more

Yeah Yeah- last Wednesday my best friend Bobby's best friend Chip and I found ourselves getting Nutty in The Nutty. After a long day of slap the pickle and hide the salami Chip and I were parched and famished (respectively). We had heard that Nutty was the place to be, so we took a LYFT and strolled in there around 8:00. First things first, the host Vince puts the D in Maitre D, if you know what I mean. Cool cat and very knowledgeable about the wine list. The security guy/ creep with the body cam is another story. He possibly has a skin suit in his basement. We were seated in a comfy booth with a beautiful view of underage kids puking. The food was average at best, the tenders were tender, like my heart, but the steak was boring and dry like Chip. Drinks were big and strong, like Vince. I recommend the Bud Light and Chip loved his Shirley Temple. Just to fit in I threw up on the floor on the way out so that was fun. Then I got a ticket in the parking lot because I forgot my Bud Light was in my pocket ( and I was happy to see you). All in all, not a bad night. Solid spot which has been around for a very long time but apparently I've never been to the one in Farmingdale until last night. We caught the nutty Irishman on country night, but it wasn't super packed - empty dance floor, a table of 10 friendlies near the bar and about 10 more guests standing around enjoying each other's company when my friends and I arrived Tuesday night. Apparently there were $3 solo cup specials on Modelo and I felt obliged to support a truly wonderful Mexican beer on country night.. rest of the crew ordered Jameson's and gin and tonics, all served in pint glasses. The bartenders were super sweet and super friendly - Sophia and Sarah were charming and actively engaged, genuinely interested in ensuring a good time for their guests. Sophia felt bad I was the only one who ordered a solo cup beverage and put it into a glass without me asking - she said "that way you won't feel left out" - what panache! Thanks Sophia!
