We came here for the grinch pop up. It's a cozy lounge so tickets are limited per night. Grinch performs a few songs and then allows for picture taking afterward. The show was short but a lot of fun! The Grinch played the character perfectly and interacted with the crowd. Drinks and bites are optional. I got the sugar cookie shots they were okay. I also got the Grinch has a heart because I'm a tequila girl but I wasn't a fan of this one. The sliders however were great. read more

I miss Main Street so much. And this is one of the reasons why. The Alibi wasn't a thing when I lived here, but I'm glad I'm able to still head to this area and partake in these experiences. Alibi is currently running a Harry Potter pop up, and if you know anything about me, you will know I am a HUGE fan. The Alibi was decorated beautifully and there were two really cute Photo Ops by "Platform 9 3/4" and the Wand Shop. Come here for the drinks! The Hufflepuff was bourbon forward and reminded me of an Old Fashioned which further confirmed that is truly my house. It also came with an edible golden snitch. The server pointed it out before I gave them what I thought to be decor. I popped the chocolate golden snitch in my mouth after being directed to take the wrapping off first. We then did butterbeer shots and I can't even begin to tell you how delish they were...dangerously delicious. Food was had and it wasn't anything to write about but I'll try. Queso dip is made in house, which I respect. Loaded potato wontons were a great idea and were probably the best things on the table. You can't go wrong with pretzel nuggets. Chocolate cake is never a bad idea. I ended my visit with a chocolate frog drink. Very similar to an espresso martini. You know how hot they are right now. It came with a an actual chocolate frog which was nice. Finally one of the staff members came over to help us play Bertie Botts and we all picked a jellybean. I got lemon. Some of us got soap and warwax. So fun! It was so good, we are going to try to snag another rez for trivia. Reservations are for 90 minute seatings. You pay $15 for a ticket but you get a souvenir cup with your ticket. Not mad about this because the cup is actually decent and will be used. Their next pop up will be "Slime Time". A Complete Disappointment -- Save Your Money! We went to the Nightmare Before Christmas pop-up restaurant and it was a total letdown. They were missing half the cast -- including Sally, who my son was most excited to see. When we asked about her, the waiter casually said, "Oh, she never showed up." Seriously? No apology, no effort to make it right. The food was way overpriced and tasted like something you'd get at a bowling alley -- definitely not worth what they're charging. There was only one performer, Jack, and he sang just two songs before disappearing. This was supposed to be a magical night for my son, but it turned into a huge disappointment. I had an amazing time at Alibi for Hogwarts Hall. We are big Harry Potter fans so when I saw this popup I just had to come & check it out. The decor was really nice the wallpaper looked real, the tables were super cute with all houses on it. They had a wand shop photo opp & a 9 3/4 photo opp. The ceilings were beautiful as well. . Our waitress (forgot her name, sorry) was really nice & attentive. And at the end someone else took our photos & she was so nice & patient with me as I wanted to take numerous photos. We had the butterbeer float which of course was sweet but was really good & then I had another drink I forgot the name but it was one of the mocktails that was like a potion making drink. It was good. As for the food, we ordered wontons (chicken pot pie filled). Didn't really know what to expect but it wasn't what I expected. It was oƙ but wouldn't order again. The 3 cheese dip was not good (to us) it tasted like it was powdered velveeta that was mixed into melted cheese (the taste was ƙ but the texture was not). We did however, like the pulled pork & the spinach pizza, I think they rotate their apps so we'll try something else next time. Oh yes, there will be a next time. I like that they have themed events. Came here last night for the sugar rush pop up. The drinks were good but the food not so much. The only thing I enjoyed were the chips and salsa and the warm pretzel. The Mac and cheese was awful. Overall from what I could see it seems like it was all frozen foods just thrown into an oven. There is no way anything's made fresh considering everything came out within 5 minutes of ordering. I've been to a bunch of pop ups and definitely had better experiences. I wish I could get a refund for the food. I don't think I'll be returning here in the near future. I went to the Mr Grinch pop up at the Alibi speakeasy on Friday night and it was pretty good. I was a little worried because the menu isn't posted online but what we ordered was very enjoyable. I had the Martha may mimosa which is apple cider instead of orange juice- amazing. I ordered a second one but sent it back because it had too much cinnamon but it was still very good. We had the mozzarella and tomato and the bruschetta. For dessert I got cheesecake which was okay but the red velvet?! So much better. Our waitress was very busy but really friendly and adorable. She was running around like crazy being attentive and patient with everyone. The decorations were really festive and gorgeous the restaurant did a wonderful job. Word to the wise and unrelated to this establishment, be careful in this area. There are a lot of bars and it gets a little wild. My car was one of twenty vehicles vandalized last night. The police were already present when I came outside but my car was still damaged so just be mindful. I definitely would return to this lounge but I will take an Uber. read more

So here's the thing, I haven't been inside yet. They do seem to have wonderful themes at this Alibi Speakeasy and lounge in on Main Street in Farmingdale. The previous one was Harry Potter theme. I tried to contact them according but not no helpful response. The currenttheme is Ghost Buster. (see pix) It seems a great idea for folks who enjoy these themes and could even dress the part. Visit Date: July 15, 2021 This is my second time coming to Alibi. I go to bars for the karaoke scene and I love their Thursday night KJ Annie. The spot I like to frequent most even though it's a much younger scene is Paddy Power with Jay but I like to stop by and see Annie too. Whenever I've come in it hasn't been too crowded. I love that this bar serves coffee drinks. I don't drink alcohol anymore, hopefully never again I'm in AA but I am still hopelessly addicted to my coffee and I appreciate a place where I can get coffee. I had the cinnamon honey latte and two cups of espresso and water. The latte was amazing and the espresso was nice and strong. I usually don't jump off walls after espresso but this one made me good and jumpy and happy. The bar seating here is on the smaller side mostly when you come in you're encouraged to sit at tables and they'll bring drinks and food over to you. I think I'll be visiting alibi at least one Thursday night a month when I hit up karaoke. read more

Popped in here last night with my girlfriend for a few drinks and was blown away! The drinks are dangerously good. The service was top notch, consistent check ins with us to make sure we were good, super clean, they all were wearing masks, washing their hands after interacting with customers, and immediately cleaned/disinfected tables after they were done being used. I always love a good speakeasy, and this one does have a rather unique entrance, so unique that it makes it (smartly) obvious passing by that there must be something good behind the front wall. In particular, the front wall is adorned with about 50 door knobs (the trick is to discover which one will open your gateway to the speakeasy). The entrance in itself is an attraction, and while we were sitting inside we saw a few people open the door just to see if they could find it. Once you do wander inside, you're greeted by a dimly lit, comfortable environment, complete with plush armchairs, coffee tables, curtains, Edison lights, and of course the bar. When we arrived, the place was rather empty (it's still relatively new), so a host told us to sit wherever we'd like and someone would be over shortly. The menu here is relatively short compared to another famous speakeasy chain in the area, but it still had a lot to offer, especially in terms of specialty cocktails. There's also a separate menu for wine and beer. One member of my party ordered the strawberry gin smash, another the fireside cocoa, and I ordered a glass of cabernet for $7 (not a bad deal). We all agreed the drinks were great! Next up were a couple of appetizers: bruschetta and bbq Mac and cheese bites. I particularly liked the bbq Mac and cheese, which packed a fair amount of savory bacon and cheese in each bite. None of us at the table were really a fan of the bruschetta, which essentially was crostini bread with tomato paste, basil, and (I think) fennel. I would have preferred a more traditional bruschetta or for the menu to indicate this was something very different (perhaps call it a tomato taste spread, for instance). Service here was very good, too. The staff was friendly and excited to start welcoming guests in the Farmingdale area. We didn't get to spend a ton of time here because we got a text 20 minutes after we sat down that our table at another restaurant in the area was ready (we were told it would be a longer wait), but I think we'll venture back if we're ever in the area. Attended the Grinch pop-up at Alibi. It was a lot of fun, thought the Grinch was very funny and entertaining. The drinks were really good and enjoyed some won-tons and the best pretzel ever! The Groupon consisted of wine (white or red) a charcuterie board, and lava cake dessert. We picked on the bacon / guac quesadillas, bacon Mac and cheese wontons and the pretzel. The food was why it lost a star. It wasn't great and very bland. I wouldn't come here based on the "grinch experience" they have. The tickets are $30 a person and doesn't include a drink or food. The holiday menu is ridiculously hiked up compared to their standard menu (which I can understand, but this was robbery). Appetizers are starting at 18 dollars and the entrees looked like they came from McDonald's and they did not taste good. Everything was served on paper plates and made the whole experience look very cheap and poorly done. The drinks were extremely over priced, everything about this was disgustingly overpriced, and to pull that in this economy, shame on these people. I would never try this restaurant based on what I experienced last night. If you're going to have an "experience" with these prices. I would at least want to be served on real dishes and have real food. I will be telling relatives/ friends/ co workers not to come here. The grinch also came out for maybe 20 mins tops. My goddaughter and I came in on Saturday night and it wasn't crowded which made me happy but not Dead either. The cocktail menu was well thought out and has a little something for everyone ,although I would like to see a tequila drink on the menu. I was happy that they had herradura although not reposado. The servers name was faith and she did a great job very friendly and although she was new to alibi it didn't seem like it. What a nice surprise. On a random date night we walk past a wall of door knobs. I had no idea why my husband was so excited to touch knobs. One star might be too much. This place is disgusting. My friend and I came here yesterday. We saw that it was under new ownership and we wanted to try it out. We both ordered cocktails, and they took nearly 20 minutes to come out. His drink was so horrible, so bitter, that he sent it back, and ordered a Moscow Mule instead. It was a bad sign when the bartender started looking up on his phone how to make a Moscow Mule. Two gentleman next to us ordered the "fresh donuts". But guess what, they were anything but fresh. They were stale, and frozen. The Nutella donut literally comes with a plastic pack of Nutella for you to spread on yourself. Don't believe me? Look at the picture. The gentleman who ordered it picked up the donut and clinked it against his plate. It was rock solid. They waited almost a half hour for a frozen donut. Our waitress was amazing. She was super sweet and sympathetic. The manager, however, made up some excuse about how the "fresh" donuts need to be frozen. When it came time to pay the bill, our two cocktails came out to over $30 because of a "service charge". Seriously? This place is disgusting. This is the drink that came out bitter. I don't know about you, but a margarita should never be considered "bitter". Or are you going to criticize my word choice here as well? If your bartender was not using his phone, maybe his Ipod? Ipad? Kindle Fire? It's hard to mistake the glow of a screen against a person's face in such a dimly lit establishment such as yours. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 is due to the entrance. That's where the cool experience stops though. Once you enter, it has a horrible ambiance. Very plain and poorly decorated. If you wanna call this place a "speakeasy " like I said it's only because of the entrance. Other than that it's very bright inside with cheap cafeteria style table tops / chairs. The pictures on the wall of bourbon and cigars tried to set the setting of a speakeasy but failed. I ordered a smoked old fashion and it had to be the worst one I've ever had. They had a wooden cover where they smoked the chips but once they pulled the top off all you got was the smell. The actual cocktail had no flavor of smoke. On that note it had no flavor of all. By flavor I mean I feel like they didn't even put an oz of bourbon in the drink. The terrible karaoke filled the air and I just could not sit there anymore and had to go someplace else. We tried out Alibi on a Friday evening, loved the live music vibe. My first drink, the Pineapple Berry Whisky Smash, was eh. It didn't have much flavor and I didn't taste pineapple or berry at all. My other drinks were much better--the Lucky Luciano and the classic Old Fashioned. The food was mediocre, and while I understand the specialty of a speakeasy is obviously intended to be the drinks, i would recommend getting rid of a lot of the things on the menu and just focusing on a few good food items like the wontons. The decor is nice and modern, almost like a hotel bar. But I think warmer lighting would definitely help give a speakeasy vibe, assuming that this is what the owners want. The service was okay. One of the servers was very helpful and insightful, very personable. I think more consistent service would be better. read more

Wow. I am going to be completely honest, I hope someone reads this review and decides to have their event/ special occasion at the Alibi Speakeasy in Farmingdale. What a place. It was a hard road looking for places to have my fiancés 30th birthday party, untill I got in touch with Pete from the Alibi. From the moment he anwsered my email he anwsered every single question I had while helping me construct the perfect night. We ended up doing a 4 hour package with an open bar, passed horderves (they also offer multiple food options) and a DJ. We arrived an hour early to decorate which was very helpful. Pete had extra tables laid out for us already for cake and presents and we were allowed to make adjustments to our liking. The party started and the bartender had the perfect drinks flowing the whole time. The one name that came up soo many times, even the day after, is Tori! Tori was an absolute game changer. If you finished your drink Tori was right there to get you another one, even remembering what you ordered. She also did not let one empty cup sit around, it was amazing and so appreciated. I was also very happy that I ended up doing the DJ option. I provided Pete with a couple of artists my fiancé enjoys, because he is not a top 20 guy, and Pete put together an incredible set. Overall I can not say enough about this establishment and it's staff. Pete will work with you to have the party that you want and a smooth night with no worries. If I could give them more than 5 stars I truly would. We were looking for a nice place we could have a small get together for a birthday, but something fun and different, and especially in times like now, that alone can be a very difficult task. However, we could not have asked for a better night all thanks to Alibi. They made booking a reservation so easy and always responded to our emails incredibly fast. They were extremely accommodating, happily agreeing to all of our requests, including decorating, bringing a cake, and even having them set up quiplash on their tv for our group of friends. The owners and staff went out of their way ALL night to give us the absolute best experience possible. They were friendly, personable, and just an absolute pleasure. They treated our birthday girl like an absolute queen, and helped make her night so amazing. I truly could go on and on, and I don't think the owners and staff know how appreciative we are for how great of an experience they gave us. It was a perfect mix of a fun and upbeat environment, but still chill, and not crazy or rowdy. I came here to experience the grinch pop up, what a disappointment. As soon as we sat down to order the waitress told us they were out of the 3 most popular food order (from the 6 options). Which left us with not much to choose from. This was pretty much appetizers that you get from The frozen aisle at Costco. No discount was provided for the inconvenience. On top of the $126 bill we got for four drinks and frozen food app, we paid $26 per person in advance for "the experience " that doesn't go towards the bill. Overall huge disappointment. read more

This is a nice space! We liked the vibes (dim lights and low key vintage seating. Wish the music had added to the vibes but it was largely poppy Halloween stuff. Smooth jazz would've really elevated the experience.) Anyway, my boyfriend and I were drawn in by their door, which is a bunch of wood panels and doorknobs to make it harder to figure out how to open the actual door. We ordered a mocktail (me), a martini (boyfriend) and a jumbo pretzel. The mocktail was pretty much a bunch of mixers, heavy on pineapple (which I happen to love) and cute presentation with a fresh strawberry on the rim and fresh cranberries in the glass. The pretzel is almost certainly straight out of a plastic wrapper but we had to buy food as per NYS law during the pandemic so it was fine. Our server was really chill and pleasant. This place has the best whiskeys and mixed cocktails I've had in a while. They had me sold with the front and the doorknobs very cool! Food is also very delicious and not expensive. This place also has both party and relaxing vibes as well. I deff recommend it read more
