I really enjoyed my class at Fusion! I was visiting a friend in Sac and was looking for a nice place to unplug. I searched for a yoga class on MINDBODY and was only finding vinyasa or hot yoga (no shade, just not my vibe) and fusion was the only place offering a hatha/slow flow class. It was exactly what I needed! The teacher was very calm, she gave great instructions without talking too much. I have officially completed three classes here, all booked through Classpass. - Slow Flow Yoga w/ Lori - Mindful Mellow Mix Yoga w/ Lorna - Mindful Mellow Mix Yoga w/ Wendy I have almost no experience with yoga and I'm not in the best physical shape, I'm a little overweight and sort of flexible. I have some background with working out, like strength training and I've played sports, but that's about it. Overall, highly recommend! I felt amazing after each of these classes. I felt much more limber and generally more calm. For every class, and every move, there were options to make it a bit easier and to account for injuries (which they ask you about before class). Logistics: The studio is located right off Arden and has tons of parking in the lot and along the quiet street. The building and entrance are easy to find. There is paperwork for your first session (very short, one page), so get there a few minutes early to get it done. They have a restroom and necessary equipment available for each class. I brought my own mat and yoga blocks, but used their blanket and pillow (forgot the official name). They ask that you remove your shoes and put them in a cubby before class along with other stuff you brought in. Cubbies are right inside the entrance, they are great at explaining all this. Two of my classes were late morning (9am & 11am) and one evening (6pm). Morning classes had between 4-6 people, but they also are recording an online class for folks at home (only the instructor is on camera, not the class). The evening class had about 11, but it was still insanely comfortable in the room. Customer Service & Vibe: AMAZING. I don't love doing new things because I oftentimes feel like I'm missing something or I won't get explanations and will have to stumble through. None of that nonsense here. They explained the paperwork and a brief overview of what to expect when I asked. Each instructor has asked if I am new to yoga and if I had any injuries, AND they baked that into their instruction! They also each checked in with me after the class to see how I was feeling. Overall Vibe was fantastic. No one made me feel bad for not knowing some of the language, the instructors made sure to include standard terms when describing the moves and how to do them, they even said things like "if you have a bad shoulder, do this instead.." so everyone is taken care of. The other people in the class were also very welcoming and kind. Class Description & Difficulty: *keep in mind, I'm new to this, so these descriptions are my best attempts as a complete newbie. Mindful Mellow Mix w/ Wendy: this class consisted of easier deep stretching, little to no complicated flows (when they go from one move to another to another), with a heavy focus on breathing and relaxation. I fricken loved it! This was my first class at this studio and it was a perfect introduction to yoga. Mindful Mellow Mix w/ Lorna: this class had a bit more movement and standing positions, a few flows that were easy to follow with plenty of room to modify or make it easier. This was an excellent follow up to the previous class. I genuinely enjoyed the option to make things more challenging, but there was no pressure at all. Slow Flow Yoga w/ Lori: this class had more flows, more challenging positions (both sitting and standing), the moves were a bit more complex but she walks you through them SO well and there were plenty of times I watched her do a move before I copied, and no one made me feel like I was going to slow. She also goes through the easiest version of a move and explains options to make it more challenging. There were a few moves I completely modified because I wasn't able to do them and I still felt so strong and limber after the class! She really gives you space to do what you can. I don't think that I can live the rest of my life without the therapeutic yoga classes offered here. I am 68 yrs old with a lot of past physical trauma and this class helps my body tremendously. Also, I fiind that the calming effect tht I receive not only benefits my body but my nervous system and PTSD symptoms. We had a conversation on my first visit about all of my injuries and she was sure during class to anonymously call out modifications specific to my pain areas. The studio is really nice. Her Sunday classes are a pleasurable accomplishment ( even when my modifications are necessary ! ) . The 75" class will leave you with a refreshed , strengthened sense of mind and body ! My favorite part of the class sessions , are her thorough "warmups" which include gentle but effective stretching from head to toe . Laura is articulate with the positioning descriptions and encourages modifications as needed . Her classes are clever - with weekly themes -- keeping them fun each week . Join Fusion Yoga and your body will love you for it! Seriously! I purchased a 10 session pass off of Groupon (Great Bargain) to begin my experience with Fusion Yoga. Wonderful place, plenty of room to layout the mat and work with a knowledgeable instructor - Routines are easy to follow. The Somatic yoga is none of the traditional yoga moves. The moves are fluid, promoting blood flow to locations rarely used. This "theraputic" method is gentle and a god send to the body. During the whole course of the session, she has us perform moves and streatches and you can feel the warming of the blood flow to those parts seldom used. This eliminated pain I have been experiencing for many years. A must place for the older crowd too. read more

This is one of the best local yoga studios! It is beautiful, peaceful, tranquil, welcoming and inviting. There is a lovely outdoor space as well for when the weather cooperates! The practitioners are knowledgeable and very experienced, including areas of physical ailments and illnesses that need special kindness and gentleness. Here are some unique things offered here: - The pre-natal classes look extremely popular, although I haven't taken one, not being pregnant myself. - I understand that the studio offers top-notch a training program to become a yoga teacher. -The facility is really nice, clean, and calming. -Very nice teachers. One thing I noticed (at least about the beginner's classes) is that everyone tends to be in their own private bubble; it's not unfriendly, but it's not your "yoga social hour". You may like this, depending on your personality. Fusion Yoga's prenatal class with Rebekah Lake is phenomenal. She not only gives us a workout that's difficult and rewarding, but also the opportunity to connect with other mamas-to-be in a very real way. I love how the class is comprised of a "check-in" portion and a workout portion. I love how the poses are challenging, but feel great. I love the sense of accomplishment when I stick it out and don't let myself cheat. I love the camaraderie of the other pregnant women there. This weekend I looked around the room briefly and felt this amazing feeling of power and miracle wash over me. A room full of women, carrying new life. It's just amazing to have all that energy in such a condensed space. The meditations Rebekah gives us to consider at the end of class are intense (in a really, really good way). I love that place. It's so real and so warm and so comforting. You can be true to yourself, participate in this environment that may look ridiculous to the outside observer, but to us, in this moment, is so absolutely perfect. I am going to miss this class A LOT once our little one is born! read more

I practice HOT power vinyasa regularly and other more mellow types of yoga seem like a waste of time to me because I don't feel like I'm working or that I could just be stretching while I'm at home watching tv or listening to an audio book. HOWEVER, I forced myself to come to the karma class on Saturday afternoon because then it guaranteed that I would get an hour of some stretching in; a designated time. I even got my husband to go with me. Overall, it was a good class. Our instruction was nice, and gave alternative suggestions on stepping things up or back depending on what we needed. I didn't feel that amazing calm wash over me like I do at the end of a HOT yoga class, but I did feel like I maybe worked just a little. I was relaxed and maybe stretched out so it was. I would probably go this studio again. read more

My previous yoga experiences were limited to very infrequent sessions of basic positions on the Wii fit and a piloga (Pilates/yoga combo) class years ago that ended with me dropping out part way and pouting in the bathroom because I just couldn't keep up. I felt like I probably couldn't do yoga because of my size. So when I found out about this studio's plus size class for women, I was excited to find something that catered to me. Lisa, the instructor, makes the class very comfortable and the practice is modified to suit larger bodies. It's fantastic! It gave me the confidence to branch out and try other classes at the studio! I've been shamelessly shopping around the yoga studios in the area for a couple of years now trying to find a favorite to make my "home" and this is it! While I've had lovely experiences at other studios in the area, Lori and her team have created the most serene, welcoming environment and offer very diverse instruction. Every instructor I've had has been attentive beyond belief. I took my mom in for her first ever yoga class this past week and Leslie (who was substituting for the delightful Evelyn) did everything she could to make my mom continuously comfortable, all the while attending to everyone elses' needs. I had real worries about my mom's first yoga experience being her last, due to wariness on her part, but she REALLY liked it! I would agree with Stacy G. who says it's not a super social vibe, but personally, given that it is by no means unfriendly, I prefer the peaceful, introspective atmosphere. I feel like I've learned the most about meditation at Fusion as well as a mess o' new yoga positions! LOVE FUSION!!! read more

I came here for the first time last week and again last night - I wanted to take at least two classes before attempting to write a review. This place is a bit far from where I live but I came because I'd signed up for the Groupon deal of $25 for 5 classes. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by Carl, who turned out to be the Yogi for the class I'd come for. I told him I had a Groupon coupon, he responded with "Darn, I've been dreading the day one of those would walk in the door!" I came back with "Yeah, I figured you'd guys were hoping to sell a lot of them and never actually see any of them!" He was really sweet and was able to get another Yogi to show him how to enter in the Groupon Special. He gave me a tour of the place which is small but very nice - so far the two classes I've taken were both in the smaller room but everyone has been very nice. I really like how streamlined their website is and that you can sign up (or cancel) for classes online. If you're coming in with your Groupon printout - make sure to arrive a five or so minutes early to get registered and entered into the computer - after that you'll be able to log in and use the website for future visits. I believe they sold over 200 specials and sadly I was the first to go! Have no fear my fellow Grouponers - go for it! I will honestly say that I don't think yoga is for me - but I don't regret trying it - I'm just not sure that I'll be going back to use the remaining three classes of credit I have. I'll try to stay on track however since this a review of the place and not yogo :) They have two changing rooms yet only one bathroom, so you might find yourself waiting a few minutes if you need to use it. The rooms are very clean and minimalist, but I'm guessing that's how it's supposed to be. Quiet and tranquil indeed. If you are a fan of yoga I highly recommend going here - I started off with Carl's Easy Stretch class and last night attended Carrie's Focus and Flow class. They are very forgiving of yoga newbies and although you may yourself feel silly you can rest assured no one else will! read more

I can only speak for the prenatal classes. They're awesome! They have different instructors, and they are all wonderful and encouraging women. I leave class feeling better than when I arrived. I was nervous about doing prenatal yoga. This is my first pregnancy and I just wanted to be cautious. But all the mommies that attend class are all empowering. I came here for prenatal yoga for several months of my pregnancy. I had a lot of sciatic pain and this Yoga was almost the only thing that would help me get relief! After my son was born I started going to their mommy and baby yoga classes and those have been really fun for the two of us to do together and get me moving after having my son. Great instructors, great environment, and great atmosphere. I am surprised to see that many 1 star reviews are related to the "plus size women" topic that made the news in February 2016. Whose who complain about this are nothing but losers that can't see that many of us are a little overweight, this was a bright idea. Having a class specifically geared towards obese folks is the best way to allow them into the different programs. Well I am overweight and I truly loved these classes. I have enjoyed each second I spent with these caring instructors. Choosing this studio was the right decision; It's way better to spend money on classes taught by real instructors than wasting time taking free classes that are being offered at parks or streets by a bunch of teenagers that are trying to get experience in the field (does it sound like a paid internship?). So while I had never been to a Yoga studio before coming here I have no issue giving them 5 stars. I have had a few different instructors here, each one was friendly and knowledgeable. If you cant twist yourself into a particular pose the yogi can often provide you with a less strenuous option, or if the opposite is true and you want to get in touch with your inner contortionist they can help there to. The upside to the Plastiman routine is a significant reduction in the random aches and pains. The studios are super nice and very clean. There are a ton of mats, props and other doodads to assist with poses. If you aren't sure that Yoga is for you they offer a great intro price, $25 for 2 weeks of unlimited classes. Wear loose clothes, remember to take your shoes off and enjoy the workout. read more

This is a review of their mommy and baby yoga. Clean wood floors, covered electrical outlets, nice teacher and moms. Parking is free and easy. They have a deal $25 for 15 days (3 classes) going on. Small group setting. 10:30-11:30am Mondays in case you're looking for something to do with your baby! I've tried the baby & mommy yoga in Davis too, that one is good as well. I like that this class includes babies in some of the poses, there's some sing along, and the teacher has disinfected toys to keep babies entertained. read more

I just started going to the mommy and me yoga class, and I absolutely love it! It gives me the ability to relax and get my yoga done, but it also incorporates baby into it. The instructor does an awesome job of improvising and catering to the needs of the babies. An example, when babies start getting fussy we'll start singing songs or she'll turn the fans on to keep babies entertained. My little one loves coming to the class (I think mainly for the fan!). It's definitely something that will be a part of our weekly routine! read more

While a knowledgable teacher, I find Lori often to be harsh and moody. It seemed to be difficult for her to sustain a positive disposition with all clientele. I ended my practice after roughly four months of participating, thinking that I was the issue. But when I returned, the cold shoulder was still there. In order to make the studio work, "off the matt" and outside of class, Lori and her staff should consider a dedicated customer service attendant for the front desk. This way, the business of the making everyone feel welcome is tended to. Otherwise, the strain of running a business, teaching classes, and checking folks in at the front desk, harms the experience. read more

Poor leading, many subs and not strenuous enough. Tried a 2 week promotional deal. I don't think ANY of the instructors I had were the ones listed on the schedule. Most seemed confused about the next move or forgot symmetry. I even had one of the staff complain to me about not re-stacking my blanket with the fringe on the right side. Not a serious yoga place. this place is the best. I've been going 3-5 times a week since june - when it was my yoga lounge on fair oaks and watt. lori is an excellent businesswoman as well as the best yoga teacher. I've been to classes in peru, and also asha yoga in midtown, but this place is my home! imagine a yoga studio perfect for total beginners and the pros to practice together. definitely give it a try. if one teacher isnt your style, try another- you'll probably be able to find one that's the right balance of new-agey/not so much. lori is my favorite because she's so experienced, clear, and makes me sweat! read more

Fusion is the best yoga studio I've found in the Sacramento area. I've been practicing yoga on and off for seven years and this is the first studio I have actually considered staying with long term. Their class schedule fits my work schedule so it's easy to go. I'm also a member of a large gym that offers yoga but their classes and instructors don't even compare. I'm pregnant and I am taking Fusion's prenatal classes. The instructor Rebekah leads a discussion for the first few minutes of every class, so everyone gets to know each other and feels comfortable with each other. I also took the yoga flow class with Lori. She was great at giving instruction on modifying positions for pregnancy. I would recommend Fusion to anyone who is interested in yoga, new or experienced practitioners. read more

I love this studio!!! I signed up for the 2 weeks/$25 and from start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. The studio is beautiful-- dim, inviting and plush. Silvia was our instructor on two consecutive Saturdays, teaching Yoga Basics. Each class was its own dealio-- different routine, different muscles used.
