I had recently been prescribed a GLP-1 medication by a hormone clinic, was experiencing severe side effects, and needed guidance on whether my symptoms were serious enough to require urgent care. I booked an appointment with Dr. Reed at the Tempe location and was extremely disappointed with the care I received. She was running about 15 minutes late and immediately began rushing the visit. When I showed her the medication and explained the symptoms I was experiencing, she stated that she didn't know what was in it because she hadn't prescribed it. I explained that I understood that limitation and was simply trying to determine whether my symptoms warranted urgent care. Her response was essentially that people do get hospitalized from GLP-1 medications and I might need to go. Despite presenting with symptoms severe enough to potentially require hospitalization, I received very little meaningful medical guidance. Instead, I was referred to other providers and questioned about why I had stopped seeing my previous One Medical physician. It was frustrating to spend a rushed appointment discussing my history with One Medical rather than receiving help for the reason I was there. I also reported significant bladder irritation after struggling to eat and drink because of the medication's side effects. I explained that I had already been taking AZO for several days and that the packaging recommends consulting a doctor before taking it longer than 2-3 days. I was advised to continue taking it until my symptoms improved. A urine test was ordered and I was prescribed antibiotics for a possible UTI. A few days later, I was told through the patient portal that bacteria had been found and that I should continue taking the antibiotics. However, after my symptoms worsened and I reached out again, another physician informed me that I did not actually have a UTI. The bacteria identified were consistent with contamination of the sample rather than bacteria in the urine itself. I was instructed to stop both the antibiotics and AZO immediately. As a result, I spent roughly two weeks dealing with worsening bladder symptoms while taking medications that ultimately were not needed. Receiving completely contradictory guidance from providers within the same practice was both frustrating and concerning. To make matters worse, I later received a bill for nearly $400 for this visit. After completing a survey detailing my concerns, I was contacted by leadership, who apologized and indicated my concerns would be reviewed. After weeks of waiting and multiple follow-up attempts on my part, I ultimately received a generic response stating that charges are based on services rendered rather than outcomes and that no adjustment would be made. What stands out most about One Medical is not that mistakes happen--mistakes happen in every healthcare system. It's the complete lack of accountability afterward. Concerns are acknowledged, apologies are offered, and patients are told their feedback matters, but when it comes time to address the consequences, the response is simply that the bill is still due. Based on my experiences, One Medical appears far more interested in maximizing billing than providing meaningful patient care or taking responsibility when things go wrong. Between the rushed appointment, conflicting medical advice, unnecessary medications, and dismissive handling of my concerns afterward, I DO NOT recommend this practice.

The doctor was extremely overwhelmed when she saw I was overstimulated and overwhelmed and couldn't accommodate my basic asks like a physical exam and lowering the lights. When I explained I had not seen a specialist in a specific area due to assault at a private clinic, her response was "that happened in the clinic?" - not trauma informed at all. Ridiculous. I have no idea what her problem is, but I will never return to this location. 2. I still don't know if the correct blood tests as I've asked for multiple times to be ordered were done right and had a script from another doctor. The doctor couldn't figure it out and left it the phlebotomist who was actually a lovely human being and extremely kind. 3. Parking directions in the app are outdated and wrong, causing my parking to not be validated and for me to get hit on on the way by the attendant who attempted to validate. 4. I had to wait over an hour to get my blood work done, which is very unlike one medical and absolutely bad shit crazy. I've never experienced reading that long just to do a pretty routine blood draw. Overall, I'll be seeking care back at the other locations within Phoenix instead of this location ever again as clearly this location does not have the best - or even basic 5/10 - doctors located here. My normal PCP from one medical was out for several weeks, which is why I decided to try this other location instead of waiting for her because this was something that was time sensitive. The questioning of being assaulted at another clinic was extremely inappropriate and not even given away of "oh I'm sorry that happened" - literally just asking where. Almost as nice as asking what I was wearing! Don't waste your time here especially as they didn't have any referrals when they told me to see a couple different specialists. Go to Scottsdale or Gilbert where there's parking and competent professionals. Worst One Medical I've been to (and I've been to 7).

No one in the office even acknowledged it! When I got to the exam room, the doctor had asked me to pull down my pants with her watching. This was weird to me and gave me pause. Dr. McConnell was apparently annoyed at this because then she herself, grabbed the waistband of my pants and started tugging to pull them off, so hard that I almost fell off the exam table. I've never had a provider do this to me. To stay in the room and not provide a cover or gown was distressing enough but when the Dr tugged on my pants I shut down. She proceeded to tell me all about the procedure she was recommending, I asked her about how far out she was scheduling and she rolled her eyes and said, "talk to my staff." At check out I was told I would be able to schedule in the office for the procedure. I was living in extreme pain every single day and I had already waited a month for the consult. We scheduled the procedure for two weeks out, which was a really long time to wait in agony. She did not call in any medications. She did not give any directions. The day before surgery they called me and cancelled my procedure and told me I didn't meet the requirements to use their facility after all. I pleaded with the nurse about how I was living in excruciating pain and all she said was,"I don't make the rules." Dr. McConnell was cold, disrespectful, unprofessional and unwilling to provide any pain medication after surgery. Doctors and surgeons have a duty to provide pain relief after a procedure, to dismiss and belittle pain and suffering is not being a good care provider! The behavior of her staff I also found unacceptable and rude. It's easy to apologize for running behind on appointments. It's easy to have empathy when you hear a patient is in pain. I have been a veterinary nurse for 10+ years, I can't imagine being so heartless if a patient was suffering or in pain. We treat dogs better than I got treated here! I found a great surgeon that did my procedure, treated me with compassion like a human being, AND provided pain relief!!! All in 3 days after they cancelled on me last minute! What a concept!

Instead of being handled efficiently, the process felt unnecessarily rigid and added a lot of stress to an already difficult situation. The most concerning part was how my care was ultimately handled. I was dismissed as a patient via text message while waiting for a scheduled telehealth appointment, without clear guidance on continuity of care or next steps. I had previously removed a review in an effort to de-escalate, but the way this situation was handled confirmed my concerns. Now that I have stopped dairy (was doing nonfat Greek yoghurt daily), issues are 100% resolved. No stool issues, no more pain. Will never go back to Dr McConnell, she is FIRED!!!

When asked about the prescribed medication, I shared that it was causing cramping and not providing the intended benefit. Despite this, the recommendation was to continue the same course of treatment with minor adjustments. I expressed that I did not agree and was hoping to discuss alternative options. At approximately 1:32, I was told my appointment time was over and that I could discontinue the medication if I chose, review materials later, and return for another visit. When I shared that I did not feel the visit had been helpful, I was told that I was being "mean," which I found inappropriate and unprofessional. I left the appointment feeling dismissed, unsupported, and discouraged. Patients seeking care--especially for complex and often frustrating conditions like perimenopause--deserve to feel heard, respected, and partnered with in their treatment decisions.

The fact that the "doctors" and "nurses" at this clinic have the ability to compound and prescribe medication is truly terrifying. In the 2+ years that I went there, the "nurse" that I saw (Erica Barajas) was never able to diagnose or treat my symptoms, outside of simply reading my labs to me and prescribing medication. When I would express concerns about symptoms I was still experiencing, or new symptoms I was having, she would either have no answers for me, or she'd suggest adding another supplement or upping my medication. She recently prescribed me Tirzepatide, which is compounded at an outside facility, and recklessly prescribed and distributed by Balance. I took only 1 dose and it nearly put me in the hospital. I went to urgent care twice, as well as numerous doctors, and none of them could help me because they didn't compound the medication or truly know what was in it. I reached out to Balance numerous times expressing this urgent concern, and the front office staff completely blew me off and disregarded me, despite me conveying that this was a medical emergency. Absolutely could not have cared less and didn't even pretend to!! Their only response was that my "doctor" is in twice per week and that she'd respond when she could. It took a week for Erica to finally respond to me, despite my numerous calls and text messages, and when she finally did, it was a single text message right before closing time saying "what are your symptoms?". I literally lost five hours of my life, frightened my family, and the hospital recommended that I needed to see a cardiologist to figure out why my blood pressure skyrocketed the way it did. I first met with Dr. Desai, and he spent so much time with me, getting a better understanding of not only my health, but what could've possibly led to the high blood pressure. He suggested a battery of tests being done, all of them came back negative, showing I was in great health. The last test they did was an ultrasound of the renal artery to the kidney. That is where he noticed what looked like narrowing and so he had me schedule an appointment for an angiogram to get it checked out. Got out of the procedure last week which Dr ambrosia performed, no blockage just a curved artery so no stent was needed. The reason for my glowing recommendation is due to the level of care I received and the level of support, compassion, and understanding both of these doctors gave me.
