A friend of mine arranged a group event for the ladies to get together to attend Trap Bingo Brunch here. I had yet to have an opportunity to go here so I was really looking forward to it. The flyer indicates that doors open at 10:30 for an eleven o'clock start time. The vestibule quickly filled with other attendees and we began to wonder what the delay was. A gentleman introduced himself as Eugene to the crowd and advised that doors actually open at 11 to allow time for the catered food to be brought in and set up. This allows for a smooth experience once guests enter. He indicated that brunch was an additional $20, payable at the time of check-in. After a short time, he came back and we were allowed into the lobby area. There were a few tables set up in the area while we waited for staff to check-in. When checking in and adding the brunch option, I was told $39.31 for my total. Having already paid $5 for the bingo entry, I was confused as to how the $20 price seemed to double. There wasn't a sufficient reasoning offered and given we would be there until 3PM, I opted to pay it. In reviewing my receipt, the charge was $31.20 plus tax AND 20% gratuity added. After checking in we were still held to the lobby area as preference for seating was given to those who had reserved tables to enter first. Once we were able to enter the space and get seated. We learned that there were lines you had to get into to order drinks, so there were no servers. It was after 12 o'clock before we were able to line up for brunch. The narrow hallway we were in was serving multiple purposes. There was a line in the opposite direction leading to a bartender, staff was traveling down the middle of the same hallway to replenish food and those who had their plates also had to travel down the center to get back to their seats. Plates were piled high and food looked delicious. By the time I reached the front of the line, there were only two people serving the food. There were a few options people from my party received that were no longer available. Not surprising given the number of plates I'd seen that had huge portions of items on them. The trap music played during all of this kept the mood light despite the disappointment of how things were going. Bingo only accounted for the last hour or so of the event and was R&B songs not trap. Each person was only provided one board. Some of our party decided to leave so a couple of us ended up with two boards which was the amount we anticipated receiving for the $5 charge. It was never shared what the prize was for winning bingo. Overall the experience was lackluster for me. The food from what I could tell was decent. I had gravy and rice as they had had run out of the turkey meat and shrimp they had for shrimp and grits but they were out of grits. There was acknowledgment on their end that the event experience wasn't up to par. Complimentary tickets to the comedy show later that evening were offered to some patrons. I opted to get one in hopes of a better experience. The check-in experience was much better. Staff never reached our table for us to make any food or beverage purchases. Comedian's performance was phenomenal. After the show, we went over to Day Day's for the after party. We were hungry since we hadn't eaten since earlier. Only bar menu items were available. After waving down a staff member we were told that we needed to go to the bar to order. Fortunately, one of the servers came by a few minutes later and asked if we wanted to order anything. We all got orders of salmon sliders. The portion was ample and the sliders and fries were flavorful. I've heard so many great things about this place so to have experienced all this in one day was extremely disappointing. read more

This is a pretty good establishment. It's not a hood bar, what you would expect to be a hood bar. It has a lot of space and a lot of area in it that you can sit at and drink at. Even has places so that you can do events. From what it looks like. There's an upstairs as well so just keep that in mind. The drinks here are really done special, they're okay, but you'll get a good environment when you go. If it's a nice day, you can go ahead and hang out there and they can open the garage door so you can get a good breeze. They have a DJ a lot of times so you can actually get your hustle on if you are trying to get on the dance floor. Last time I went ahead free entry so you don't have to worry about trying to pay to get in so you can just walk in, kick it and walk out. And come back if you want to! Therapist was okay. Nothing great, but it wasn't terrible. One of the bartenders made me wait a little long than I would have liked to when she really wasn't doing anything but it is what it is. I totally get it. But once I got the drink and got that together, it was okay. Overall, I mean, I don't have any complaints. I thought that it was a good time. The music was good. This is just an event review - we just ordered drinks from the bar kiosk and headed in to the auditorium for a comedy show - the 2 headliners were actually very funny and had us all laughing, and the host was pretty good. They did shove in a weird fashion show type of thing in between, but it was good for a couple of jokes for the next comedian. They did a really nice job of working the crowd. This venue is perfect for comedy. Small but not too small - tables and an area for more regular theater style seating. You can see and hear very well from everywhere. The bar side of the venue looked like fun, but we didn't go over there this time. The bartenders were very friendly and the alcohol was measured out in front of us from the bottle. The food looked good, but they stopped serving a half hour before the show started - that seemed premature to me. Like, people would have kept going back to get food I think, or it would be great if they had food runners that would bring it to your table once you ordered, or better yet, some type of online ordering system. The tables are numbered, so I thought that was the plan, but apparently people had to wait in line and bring it in themselves. Also, one of the guys in my group waited for like 30 minutes in line, only to be told once he got to the front that they were no longer serving. I feel like they could have let people know as they got in line. Not great logistics there. Overall, a really good time though with lots of parking right next door in the Z lot; we'd for sure return. I came here for the St. Patty's day party! The venue was a lot bigger than I expected it to be. Though I was told tables were moved around so I'm not sure what the setup is on a regular day. The crowd was a mixture I would say. Everyone was having a great time I didn't get any food so I'm not sure how that is! I did order drinks! Unfortunately they don't have Remy VSOP, only 1738. The beer options weren't the best if you're a beer drinker. The customer service was meh. The bartenders were attentive and doing the best they could with what they had. The manager Kecia was not as nice, accommodating and down right rude. I would like to return but if the manger is nasty, I can only imagine what it may be like on a regular night. We had so much fun! This spot is NICE. It would be a great venue to host a party, have a ladies night, go out with friends, or get a drink after work. Last night was date night. My husband and I had dinner at Day Days. The food was delicious. I don't eat meat so I had the fried green tomatoes and yams. The tomatoes were golden and crispy. They were perfectly seasoned and came with a cheese sauce. YUM. The yams were buttery and sweet. I wanted to lick the bowl. My husband does eat meat and he got the lamb chops, which came with two sides. He chose the asparagus and the rice and gravy. He said they had a lot of meat, were a little sweet, and sooo good. He cleaned his plate. I sampled his asparagus, which I will be getting next time. The staff was friendly and welcoming. They felt like family. This is no exaggeration. We, myself n 2 of my granddaughters came here for a well deserved brunch! We got here at 11am for a scheduled start time per our reservation/tickets and One Mike wasn't even open let alone ready to serve us BUT....if it wasn't for our server Brooke, we'd probably still be standing outside in the cold but she was able to get us and another group of people in and seated til they could get things settled for us! We got seated pretty quickly and served with food options quickly! The food was excellent n plentiful! We ordered the Grilled Salmon w/potatoes, n scrambled eggs , Grilled Salmon w/ Fried Cabbage w/ Andouille Sausage n also the Fried Catfish w/turkey sausage n Grits! The food was excellent except my granddaughter didn't like the Turkey Sausage (said it had a funny taste) but the place had a vibe all its own!! The live DJ was great, he had the place lit with a lil ole school and new school!! We also enjoyed the flight of margaritas (it should have been Mimosas but wasn't) but it was good non the less! I dragged my family out to a comedy show because the host is funny. That held true, but overall was a sad comedy of errors at the venue. The bar section- I would never ever order a drink from this establishment if I'm not at the bar watching it being made. A better cocktail is around the corner at Standby. Same pricing, better vibe and amazing service. Back to One Mike. I ordered a KTFO drink of the specify menu which included Midori and Botanist Gin to name a few. I look over and the bartender is using well liquor equivalent for the Midori. I said something and she tries to explain it's all melon liquor. I understand that, but it's like getting well when you ordered well anything name brand for example. I didn't get it as they didn't have all the liquor listed. So that was a wasted drink made. They must hire anybody to bartend which is another fail on the bar manager because anyone knows that well and brand are different. The bill was not itemized and when asked for it she gave a customized bill which just had the amount. That's sketchy in my opinion and bad business. They also have an automatic 20% service fee on all checks. That is likely why service was subpar at the bar area. DJ played nice music. Comedy: attended a 8pm Thursday show. It did not start on time and was over 30 minutes late. The room was beautifully laid out. Air conditioning was going and they had a nice sound system. Limited food menu was offered. Catfish and fries were $16 and pretty much the size of an appetizer and not a meal. We had 5 catfish bites and fries. I couldn't understand how tartar sauce not come with fish. We waited 10+ mins after food was brought over to get tartar sauce. Staff went to clear tables for a while before bringing it back. Food was cold by then. Parking: street if you can find a spot. Close to Z Lot parking garage, which was $10 when I attended. Pricing is subject to change based on events. Would I go back? Probably 99% not. Maybe in a year to see if it is better. It's a nice looking place with a bar section, restaurant area and comedy venue but service matters the most for me. If I'm paying 20% service fees then at least give me what I pay for and not require me to not trust the order. I had high hopes, but was let down. Disappointing start to entry in Detroit. When I asked could they fix or bring me a side of grits, waitress was going to charge full price for side of grits. I passed. Pot roast wasn't great. Maybe because my order was wrong. Father's Day 2025 Visit to One Mike - A Mixed Experience We visited One Mike for the first time on Father's Day 2025, and while there were some positives, a few noticeable issues detracted from the overall experience. On the upside, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming, thanks in large part to the other patrons, who contributed to an energetic and enjoyable environment. The venue has real potential as a go-to spot for live entertainment and community connection. That said, there were several areas that need attention. In addition to not having a menu, the tablecloths were visibly stained, which gave a poor first impression. Additionally, the dust buildup on the exposed HVAC piping was quite noticeable and distracting -- a small detail that made a big difference in how clean and maintained the space felt. Service was another area of concern. Our food arrived about 15 minutes before any drinks -- including water -- which created a bit of an awkward dining experience. The lighting also seemed off, staying overly bright until near the end of the show, which affected the ambiance. Finally, a few bugs flying around the lights raised some hygiene concerns. With some improvements in cleanliness, service timing, and ambiance control, One Mike could truly shine. We'd love to see it live up to its full potential and hope future visits reflect a more polished experience. read more

I went here the first time before the Lions game on Sunday. Got a catfish sandwich which I surprised when it came out: on pita, with cheese, cheese, tomato, and lettuce. My biggest gripe is catfish on pita with diced onions! Who does that?! However, the catfish filet was seasoned good and fried just right. Also, thought it was very urban to serve food in takeout containers even though we were dining in. Went to One Mike to see Nephew Tommy on 11/1. When we got there they told us we had to enter through the club. We go through the club just to walk back around to the front door. They made us go back outside and wanted us to stand in a line that had recently formed while we walked through the club. Staff was rude and threatened that no one would get in unless we all got in this long line. Some people protested and were somehow let back in without standing in the line. We were able to sneak in with them, avoiding the line. Once inside we were seated and a waitress came to take our order. I ordered catfish and fries and never got it. Other people at the table ordered after me and got their meal. Once I got the waitress attention I told her I didn't want the food and to refund my money. Yes they made me pay before I even got my food, which I never got. A manager came and asked me if I still wanted the food because they were making it now. It had been over an hour. I told him no and to refund my money. Nephew Tommy was funny and I enjoyed the show, but the venue and staff sucks. Won't be going back no matter who's coming to do a show. read more

Let me start off by saying that this place is a joke. We went for Sunday brunch and when we sat down we were greeted right away. The waitress informed us to go to the other side of the building to start our buffet. When we went to the other side we wanted to leave, but we were already here. The buffet setup was terrible. The food was cold and we were served from someone who had on a dirty shirt. The dishes were wet and we had to wait for them to bring out napkins to wipe them down. I told my friend I hope the food is good and the dish guy looked at us and laughed like "you'll see how nasty it is". We were heatitant but we tried the food anyway. Nothing great. When we seen a lady come back with wings we decided to go back because that wasn't being served. When we returned they had wings. I must say the wings were good. I ordered a lemon drop which looked like it was being served in a kiddy glass. It wasn't good. I wanted to like this place but for me and almost $100 we left hungry and disappointed. Nephew Tommy and his Ppl were AWSOME. I was there for the 1st time on Sun, Nov 3rd, 2024. The experience was terrible. We literally witness the bartender open a top of the bottle of liquor with her teeth, and then there was an 18% gratuity whether your service was good or not. Now let's get to the show room, the fries were extremely cold, my friend order pop, and the staff brought her a half of cup, we had to asked for a full cup, not to mention he had an 8 oz cup on his tray when he brought our food, and we told him the pop was ours but he took it away, then brought the half of cup. There were only two staff members to 64 ppl in our area. Oh and the table next to us needed napkins, and the staff took napkins from our table and passed them to the table next to us, oh and on there side the gratuity 20%. I went to a trap bingo event last weekend. First; the room was almost completely full, there were only 2 waitresses and the wait was much too long to place a order and pay for the brunch and drinks. The waitress that we had was very nice and patient. Eventually she did get some help. Maybe an hour hour and a 1/2 later, when we get to the brunch table plates were very nasty. Everyone was turning down plates that were dirty. They had food on them and they were some large pieces of food this would make one wonder what do the dishes look like bet you are cooking in? This was a big turn off for me.I don't know that I would ever eat there again! read more

If you are accustomed to timely service or ticketed concerts starting within the vicinity of the time advertised, this may not be the venue for you. We arrived at 7 for a 7:30 ticketed show on 03/02/24. Upon entry, we had the content of our purses examined, walked through a metal detector, had our bodies patted down and tickets scanned. There was general seating and we ended up centered on the top level which was a good spot. A waitress showed up and took our drink order right away and then disappeared for an hour. I am not exaggerating. We watched as people who arrived after us received their food and drinks. When she finally reappeared, she ignored our table but I heard her say to the table next to ours that "there was a problem with them receiving her orders in the back but they were coming". We waited another ten minutes and finally asked a different waiter who was passing by to ask a manager to come to our table and she did. She rolled her eyes when we described our waitress, apologized and asked a different waiter to bring our order to us. By then it was about 8:15 and the concert still had not started. We waited another 10-15 minutes and they brought out one comedian, a stroke survivor, with medication induced erectile dysfunction who, as far as I'm concerned, blamed the quality of his set on his medical condition. Then another one took the stage and shared her experiences with men and edibles. She was okay but I didn't feel either were necessary. Finally after another ten minute break the artist was introduced. He and the band was exactly what I expected and the only saving grace of the evening. Sadly, we had to leave due to lateness of the evening and miss the remainder of his set. As we were leaving, I asked one of the staff if it was customary for them not to start at the advertised time and she explained that they normally don't start until the crowd shows up. That was all I needed to hear. On the way out of the building, the manager stopped us and asked why we were leaving. I informed her that I was expecting the concert to start at 7:30, I don't live here, it was late and I had to get up early. While we were waiting for the concert to start, I checked my ticket and the website to make sure I hadn't misunderstood the time and nowhere was it posted that the doors opened at 7:30 or that there was going to be an opening act, so I assumed the posted time was the start time of the concert. Now I know. They made sure to brag about this being one of a kind in Detroit and I hope it is. The venue looks great, the staff we encountered were friendly and the artist was wonderful. However, I don't see myself returning and a week later, I still regret that six other people I told about the concert actually purchased tickets. I also regret that I am hoping my other favorite artists avoid this place. read more

The meal that was served for the show was fried turkey chop with beef, mashed potatoes and vegetable, it was a very tasty meal, the only thing was the servers seemed scattered and half of our table were served their meal and by the time we were finished and the show started then the other half of the table was served. the doors were supposed to open at 7, they didn't open until 7:40, dinner was supposed to be from 7:30 to 8 and then the show, but dinner didn't get served until 8:30 and for others they didn't get their meal until about 9 pm, when the show started. the acts were great and the tribute to Luther was awesome, they have to just to better with their time management skills. the tables and seating area was perfect and the showroom was very nice. read more

A parking garage is conveniently located directly behind the venue. The evening vibe is on point and the price is very reasonable. I've been there three times. It's my go to spot for entertainment. I visited One Mike in Detroit, which is Mike Epps bar/restaurant two weeks ago. It was just ok for me but Karaoke was fun. The Dj was very interactive with the crowd and was singing too. We arrived probably about 4 p or 5p on a Sunday and the restaraunt was out of much of all the food. The restaraunt wasn't crowded so i didn't understand why the food inventory was so low. There so more work that need to be done as far as customer service and inventory. read more

The food was amazing. Our waitress Nita was as amazing as well. The cook (Ron) was very rude and unprofessional. He was yelling at staff loudly while standing over and preparing guest food. He have an extremely long beard with nothing covering it. Our order of grits had cheese in it (wasn't supposed to) and when sent back, he was very loud and rude saying there was no cheese in them. Not long after, another guest came and sent theirs back for the same reason (had cheese in the grits).
