Popcorn Chicken (4/4) Freshly made and served piping hot, the popcorn chicken has a nearly perfect batter with a light, tender crust. However, the chicken itself is slightly dry. Traditionally, this dish is served with fried basil and optional chili powder for extra spice, but neither was included. I have been craving a specific boba tea for SO LONG now, one that has the nice flavor of tea, a non-dairy milk, and boba that is slightly sweet and bouncy without being mushy on the outside or hard on the inside- and this place delivered for me perfectly!! I got it at 75% sweet because the last new place I visited had lower sweet, but this one I could've done 50% I think. It's really too bad this spot is so far from me (I live in Bellevue)... or maybe it's a good thing because I'd get it too much. Maybe better for my health and wallet. My friend and I were looking for any new place to hang out, then we found One N Half Lab where they have a good selection of boba tea and Taiwanese street food. My friend was a big fan of boba tea, and I missed Taiwanese street food badly, so we just decided to try out this place. We showed up right after they opened their door. I am a low tech person, but I found their ordering kiosk was easy to use. We ordered two meals, Taiwanese sausage bento and Beef noodle soup, that came with drinks. One interesting we noticed is that each meal selection came with different drink options. When we ordered Taiwanese sausage bento, there's an option to order a drink at a cheaper price, but no old fashioned black tea, so we ordered milk tea. However, when we ordered beef noodle soup, there's no milk tea option but old fashioned black tea. We thought all the add-on drink options were the same, but they weren't. We then got milk tea and black tea from the add on options since it's much cheaper. We also ordered blood rice cake and the braised combo. There were a few tables in the store. When we were there, not too many people were there, so we just picked up a table. The food came very quickly. During the lunch time, around noon to 1 pm, the entire place was packed. After that, most people just came to pick up something and left. The food was very delicious and was authentically Taiwanese food. The blood rice cake was southern Taiwanese style. I wish they also had northern style that would wrapped with peanut powder. The braised combo was very tasty. I guess it was cooked in the sauce for a long time. The beef noodle soup was really good, and they could add picked mustards for free. My friend and I had a lot to chat, so we stayed in the store until they closed. Nobody ever tried to kick us out simply because we had stayed too long. We had a good time there, enjoying the food and the drinks. I am sure that we will come again soon. read more

After farmer's market, we decided to stop by for some soup noodles. This place hit the spot. Beef soup noodles. I like the spicy one personally. More flavor than the regular. Beef fingers are tender. The tripe and beef shanks also very clean and tender. The chicken and calamari combo was okay. I dunked them in my spicy broth to make it more flavor. This place is self serve. We came here on a Friday evening and the place was relatively full. We were able to place our order on a touchscreen. The popcorn chicken bento was pretty tasty though we wish there was more meat. The seafood malatang could have included more toppings on the inside and be a little less soupy but overall it was pretty tasty and the medium spicy level was plenty. The beef noodle soup's broth was nice and pretty standard but the pieces of beef were pretty small and underwhelming. It's not bad for a quick casual meal. read more

I got the braised pork belly rice combo and she got the beef noodle soup combo. Her soup is authentic with good flavor, and my braised pork belly tastes on par with what I've tasted in Taiwan. The portions are just right for the combos for females, but it might not be enough for male who has a bigger appetite. I also ordered a popcorn chicken to go and it tastes on par with other places as well, but slightly on the harder side. Their pricing is less competitive since monga cafe in bellevue offers a smaller braised pork belly rice with a bowl of soup and two side dishes for $15.99. The rent in Bellevue is higher, so I'm guessing the profit for one n half lab is higher. They were playing Jay chou's songs when we were dining, and there were only one other group of guests eating at that time. We usually stop by here for bubble tea so I already knew their drinks are good. My fav is the iron Buddha milk tea, which is harder to find everywhere else. I discovered this restaurant serves Rabbit Rabbit tea so decided to dine inside. My partner and I came here around lunch time and noticed this place looks fairly new, tucked hidden on the corner of a complex shared with many businesses like Dickey's BBQ. As we entered the restaurant, we had no idea what to order but looked at the kiosk menu for suggestions. They serve mainly snacks and small dishes in addition to lunch combo options. We decided to try their popcorn chicken to snack on. I ordered the sukiyaki beef udon with the signature fruit tea while my partner got the braised pork belly rice combo with Assam milk tea. Once we ordered, we seated ourselves a table. The restaurant was small but had adequate amount of table seatings. The food came out pretty quick. The popcorn chicken was tendered and seasoned well. One of our favorite popcorn chicken we had so far! The udon noodle was okay, portion was a tad small for the price. The pork belly rice was pretty good and it came with half of a soft boiled egg. Overall, it was a nice quick service restaurant but our main purpose was to try their bubble tea. Both the drinks that were included with our combos were really good. The tea flavors were really fragrant and not overly diluted. I will have to come back next time to try the other tea selections. read more

I'm not sure if one and half lab and rabbit rabbit tea are the same or separate? Anyways I got the strawberry brown sugar Boba drink and I really enjoyed it. It had just the right amount of sweetness, I could taste the strawberry, and the Boba was cooked and flavored well. I also got the Taiwanese Hakka style braised pork over rice which had decent presentation and some variety in the bowl. However I wasn't a fan of the taste and texture of the pork itself. Granted I dont know how an authentic hakka style flavor is supposed to taste like but I know this dish is usually served with pork belly and this was ground pork and it was soy salty. One N Half Lab is the same location as Rabbit Rabbit Tea which sells drinks. This review is for the food from one n half lab itself. The ordering system is a DIY kiosk or seat yourself at a table and order from your phone via a QR code. I ordered from the kiosk and sat down shortly after. I shared a popcorn chicken and got the pork loin rice. The food came about 15 minutes after. I noticed there were people still waiting for their food (the table had to ask about the status) and also noticed a delivery driver waiting who was visibly angry that the food wasn't ready on time. Popcorn chicken: the flavoring was a hint a basil and was just okay. There could've been more seasoning. The popcorn chicken was not fried long enough - the batter was soft and slightly slimy (at least the white meat chicken was fully cooked). Pork loin rice: the rice comes with plain white rice, some braised items/cabbage and potato salad (?). The fried pork loin was flavored well (way more than the popcorn chicken) and didn't have any fat in it which I like. I did notice the pieces were slightly irregular shaped and was like chicken tenders. The braised items (egg and tofu) were really good and was honestly my favorite of the meal - wish there was more. Also, typically in these bentos they put some minced pork over the rice but it was overall just plain and not too cohesive. Overall one n half lab as a whole could've been a lot better. The beef noodle soup was tomato-y or ketchup-y which wasn't our favorite, but it's a good quick meal. Others ordered their rice bowls and those looked good, too. I did them both at the 25% sugar level, so it was good for me; not too sweet. I got one with Brown Sugar Boba (they were out of regular boba, which is $0.80 compared to $1.20 for the brown sugar boba) and one with lychee jelly. Drinks and food all in one spot!! I had the creamy udon with bacon today and it was delicious. It had smokey flavors from the bacon and the udon held onto the sauce nicely. The veggies added a refreshing taste. I'll definitely come back to try all the night market snacks and rice dishes! Was happy to find a Taiwanese boba spot out here in Issaquah while we were visiting. A bit confusing as the name says Rabbit Rabbit Tea on their wall and posters but has a different name on Yelp. We were intrigued by their menu and Yelp pictures. Once we ordered, we waited 25 minutes for our drinks. It's the longest we've ever waited for boba. Our kitchen food came out before our drinks. They weren't even that busy. They definitely need to hire more staff or retrain the ones they have. I've been to dozens of boba spots that can easily meet the demand of busy customers with two staff members unlike this place. Ordered an almond milk tea with almond jelly which at first I thought tasted great but soon came to realize the drink was like 90% milk. The creaminess was overwhelming and you could barely taste the almond flavor and definitely not the tea. Also got the assam black tea which tasted average and a little too bitter. Nothing special. Now for the food.. We ordered the popcorn chicken which came out lightly fried and undercooked. No crunch. Could use more flavor (salt, spice, or basil). We were just glad it looked cooked on the inside and were worried about raw, undercooked chicken and food poisoning. Will update if we get it for sure. Also ordered the pork chop rice plate. Tasted average (three stars). The pork chop could've been crispier and saltier. We were happy to see that it came with small portions of other Taiwanese side dishes like a tea egg, marinated tofu, and potato salad. Wouldn't mind ordering this again. Lastly, I ordered the bacon creamy udon which I saw on a Yelp photo. This was the star of the experience and the only saving grace. The dish came out hot and creamy with a good size portion and lots of mushrooms and bacon. A tone of flavor! It also came with two broccoli which I wish there was more of to provide relief from the richness of the sauce and better balance. (Couldn't finish and had to take it home because it was so rich) Overall, I would only come back for the creamy bacon udon if I was in the area. Since the food was also served to us out of to-go containers, I came away with the impression that it was like eating airline food. Service was a very bare-bones, order at the counter, DIY affair.
