Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #95 I loved the Rabbit Rabbit Tea in LQA from my very first visit. It firmly sits at my #2 favorite boba shop out of the 91 places I've visited in and around Seattle. I found out that they had another location in Issaquah and I made it a point to visit after hiking in the area over the weekend. This particular location shares a storefront with a Taiwanese restaurant, One N Half Lab, which I will definitely have to try in the future. This means there's plenty of seating, making it a great place to relax while sipping on drinks. Ordering is simple on the kiosk right in front, and unlike many other boba shops in the area, employees are available for questions. Iron Buddha Thick Milk Tea, 50% Sugar, 30% Ice w/ Boba ($6.90) - We were told that the "thick milk tea" is much richer than the normal milk tea due to the addition of cheese foam in the drink. That's pretty accurate. This drink is extremely luscious and rich, but the problem with cheese foam is that it completely takes over the entire drink, making it taste like the stinky and salty cheese. That's why it's usually used as a topping rather than being mixed in from the start. The delicate Iron Buddha flavors are unfortunately completely obliterated here. Thirty percent ice isn't quite enough to completely cool down the drink, although it's almost there. Unlike the Rabbit Rabbit in Seattle, this location doesn't offer honey boba and instead only has either regular boba or brown sugar. For this drink we went with the regular, which is definitely on the softer end of things, with a soft velvety exterior but an interior that's nice to chew on. It's definitely from a long soak in a sugar solution, making the pearls quite sweet. It's not too soft to be unlikable. Milk Tea Rating: 3/5 Boba Rating: 3.5/5 Japanese Buckwheat Milk Tea, 25% Sugar, 30% Ice w/ Brown Sugar Boba ($6.45) - I usually love drinking true teas only (as opposed to tisanes), but i make an exception for buckwheat. The buckwheat tea that Rabbit Rabbit serves is exceptional. It's smooth, rich, nutty and toasty in flavor with the right thickness from the addition of creamer that doesn't overwhelm the flavor. I typically find that Rabbit Rabbit's brown sugar boba is sweeter than honey or regular boba, so I get the drink less sweet, in this case 25% sugar. It adds up to about the same sweetness level as 50% with the other boba types. The brown sugar boba is very soft, much more so than the normal boba with an exterior being almost too soft, approaching mushy, but somehow also has a bit of a grainy feel on the tongue. It doesn't feel great on the tongue but is fine to chew through. Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 Boba Rating: 3/5 Unfortunately I don't think this Rabbit Rabbit is nearly as good as the one in Queen Anne. Perfect snacky place to get boba and satisfy a bit of hunger. The portion sizes are a bit small for what you pay for, but it is tasty and cooked well. The boba is delicious and chewy. Have tried their buckwheat tea, their strawberry buckwheat tea, and original milk tea on three seperate occasions, and it's delicious every time! The signature fruit tea is very generous with the fruit slices and you can buy it as a combo with food! The spicy noodles was cooked throughout and the beef was soft and moist. The braised pork over rice was a comforting flavor. cashier and server was the same person, and all the food + drink came out timey and hot! Went during an after school crowd so there were some people sitting in and standing in line at the self-order screens, but aside from the regular pop music playing from speakers overhead, the noise level is normal. I'm definitely coming back here to try other things on their menu when I'm craving a snack! read more

Rabbit rabbit tea is inside One and Half. Best I could tell is the food is one and a half and rabbit rabbit tea are the drinks. The store itself looked clean and simply decorated, but quite pleasant inside. You order on a kiosk and it looks like you can order your food and drink together however I'm not positive because I only ordered a drink. I ordered a milk tea. It was OK. A little heavy on the milk and very little tea flavor. It wasn't too sweet, whichI did appreciate. I think the next time I visit I would try food and I would try a different drink I put my order in, my drink was made very quickly. read more

Rabbit Rabbit is one of the newer bubble tea chain additions to Issaquah. It is located in Gilman Plaza and shares a space with One N Half Lab. For those wondering, the rabbit refers to the Alice and Wonderland White Rabbit as signified by the Alice in Wonderland quote on the side of the cups. I'm not sure what was located here before Rabbit Rabbit moved in, but the restaurant has a narrow but deep interior. They have two touchscreen kiosks you use to order both food and drinks and so there's not really any customer service or interaction other than the bobarista calling out your order to pick up at the counter. The boba menu includes a variety of milk teas (including oolong, black, green, and matcha), fruit teas, and several types of brown sugar boba milk teas. Drinks are about $6.50 and up and toppings are about $0.80 extra depending on the topping. My friend ordered a taro milk tea and I ordered JAPANESE BUCKWHEAT MILK TEA (50% sugar, no ice) since it sounded different and was what other Yelp reviewers had suggested trying in their reviews. It was also caffeine-free which was a perfect for a late Sunday afternoon. The JAPANESE BUCKWHEAT MILK TEA was interesting and wasn't quite what I was expecting. It honestly tasted like I was drinking a Ritz cracker- it was slightly salty, slightly sweet, and definitely had strong tastes of wheat. 50% was just the right sweetness for me as someone who usually prefers 30-50% sweetness at other boba places. Personally, I don't think I'd get this drink again and would probably stick to a basic black or green milk tea next time. The atmosphere is pretty chill overall. The taro milk tea was fresh, the fresh taro on the other hand was fine, but chunky yet mushy and difficult to drink. Too much added for one serving. So would definitely go back! But wouldn't get the taro next time. No sipping lid for salt cream which made it a bit hard to drink. Service was sweet but a tad slow. The rabbit face straw additions are adorable, but a bit tight so couldn't keep it on to drink, but photo worthy lol! This is the newest option for boba tea in Issaquah, situated inside a café called One Half Lab. The shop is not super visible since it's in the corner of a strip mall, so it's easy to miss unless you have the intention of seeking it out. At 1:00PM, there were just a couple customers ahead of us picking up tea. Only a single employee was behind the counter, catering to orders and managing the eatery. She was very kind and did a great job crafting our drinks. I was curious about the flavor of the Japanese Buckwheat tea, so she asked if I wanted a small sample. Yes please! She also gladly allowed for a boba substitute in one of our drinks that automatically came with lychee jelly (we weren't able to request this change via the self-ordering screen). I appreciated how the menu clearly depicts which drinks could be made hot, iced, or caffeine-free. Also, look for the little rabbit icon which indicates their recommended items. I got the JAPANESE BUCKWHEAT MILK TEA with boba ($5.25 + $0.80), 25% sugar and 30% ice. It had a very unique and unexpected flavor! When I tried the sample of just the pure tea, it had strong toasty notes. With the added milk, it reminded me of a lightly toasted, slightly sweet coconut cookie. I was pleasantly surprised! The boba was barely sweetened, so my choice of 25% sugar was just right. I really enjoyed this drink and it's also caffeine-free, which is a bonus in my book! My companions enjoyed the Taro Milk Tea and Lychee Green Tea as well. The prices of the drinks themselves appear pretty average for the area, but customizations can add up. For instance, toppings are between $0.80 and $1.50 each. It's also an extra $0.80 if you want your milk tea made with fresh milk, soy milk or oat milk, rather than the standard non-dairy creamer. Tucked out of the way in a not-the-easiest-to-find spot it was worth the hunt as I quickly slurped down my taro milk tea (with requisite boba, of course). I was surprised that they also serve some amazingly delish-looking food there, too! The smells coming from the kitchen were tantalizing, and I definitely perused the menu in hopes of fulfilling future lunch dreams. But back to my bubble tea...it was YUM. Greeted not by human but order only through only one screen at the front counter. Because folks are trying to navigate through the menu, a backed up line is constant. I definitely plan on getting the radish fries again because they were savory and delicious. Service is relatively fast. I loved the tiramisu milk tea! A very pleasant lady answered my question and invited me to ask if I had more. I ordered and paid at a kiosk, and my drink was ready 2 minutes later. I order from Rabbit Rabbit off the food delivery apps once every week or two. I see a lot of reviews complaining about the wait time, but that's not an issue if you order ahead or have it delivered. Plus, they almost always have promos like b1g1 or 20% off on the delivery apps. They are one of the few in the area that uses real brewed tea - I can tell because it's caffeinated and if I drink it at night, then RIP my early sleep. I've had almost every item on the menu so let me go through it. Assam milk tea - I think this is their black tea. Solid Buckwheat tea - if it's your first time trying it, it'll be an interesting taste to it. It's hard to describe but only get it if you want a non-caffeinated milk tea Jade green tea - I'm not a huge fan of green milk teas but it's fine Iron Buddha Oolong - Once again, not a huge fan of oolong milk tea but I've had it and it's fine Almond milk tea - Yea if you're into almond milk. Taro milk tea - I get this with the fresh taro and it's one of my go-to's Kyoto Matcha Latte - I think it's smaller than the rest but it's also one of my favories Thai milk tea - I'm not a huge fan of thai milk teas but I've had it and it's fine. I tried the Rabbit Signature Fresh Fruit Ice Tea and the Pineapple Golden Oolong Ice Tea, and I thought they were both pretty good. I did them both at the 25% sugar level, so it was good for me; not too sweet. I got one with Brown Sugar Boba (they were out of regular boba, which is $0.80 compared to $1.20 for the brown sugar boba) and one with lychee jelly. This is a bubble tea chain from Taiwan and my first visit was at a location in Hawaii, I loved it! I loved the variety of drinks that they offered and the whimsical ambience so I was excited that they were opening one in Issaquah. I wasn't disappointed! My family and I went and tried a variety of snacks (such as the popcorn chicken and the lightly friend daikon sticks). Everything I tried of the food was perfectly cooked (lightly crispy and not greasy), I was really pleased with it. The milk tea was good, tastes like it has actual tea not powder and the boba was soft and chewy. I do have to note, it was pricey (thus the one star deduction) but I would recommend and I would visit again. I love the milk tea here, especially with the brown sugar boba. The few food items I've tried were also good but not as exceptional as the tea. I highly recommend against ordering takeout on the trytabletop website though. It automatically adds a 15% tip even if you select otherwise. It also does not support PayPal or Apple Pay and will sometimes save your credit card details without asking. Very sketchy. When I found out they were opening a second location here in Issaquah, I was ecstatic! 1) Japanese Buckwheat Milk Tea - I don't drink milk tea too often now but when I do feel like it, this is my go-to. It is caffeine free and has an interesting "nutty" yet sweet taste. I can't describe it very well but definitely try it! I highly recommend adding Brown Sugar Boba to it (vs. regular boba). You won't regret it! 2) Passion Fruit Jade Green Tea - I normally drink fruit teas now and I LOVE Rabbit Rabbit's passion fruit. Anything passion fruit flavored is my jam but their passion fruit tea is spot on. So glad another bubble tea place has opened up here in Issaquah! The $$ for their drinks + toppings are a little on the pricier side and the wait time has been pretty long despite sometimes going with no other customers inside. To note: you can order ahead! I highly recommend doing this so you don't have to wait inside. They also have a small food menu too (scan the QR code inside the store/look online). Cute little place in the corner of a fairly quiet mall plaza. Had the lemon winter melon tea and it was lovely. Forgotten to add bubble to my tea during my self order but the person preparing the tea happily added bubble for me. I very much appreciated the flexibility or I wouldn't hv the opportunity to try their perfectly prepared boba. Always enjoyed a bubble tea place that also have snacks! They shared the space with One N Half Lab (lookup for menu) who serves snacks from Taiwan. Already looking forward to be back as the fried fish bites were delish!!! Has your typical Taiwanese pop corn chicken flavor but super tender because it is fish. It is super crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. No sauce required as it is already well seasoned. I feel like I am paying regular price for kid's size drinks. There are several items on the menu that are served in a tiny cup but not mention it on the menu. The price is not cheaper than regular size drinks and the quality of the drinks do not justify the size and price.
