They told me they would do nothing, that I had ordered Fried Rice. I also specified spiciness which wouldn't be normal for fried rice. Obviously a manager change. Creature of habit. Whenever I want really good Thai food. I always chewed Simon Thai. Went here for lunch the other day, immediately got a table, and our server was at our table, offering us water, appetizers, etc. This was one of the slower afternoons, in my opinion there wasn't a lot of people in the restaurant, but still a good vibe in the place with people enjoying their lunch. I went with the usual, which is the cashew nut chicken and pod Thai. As previously, it was amazing. My wife chose the Tom Kah soup. I cannot say enough nice things about this place! Finding a good Thai food restaurant on the east side of the lake is a bit tricky. Stumbled upon this spot right after thrifting across the street and have come back everytime. The service is great, they are so kind and quick. The restaurant offers a lot of seating and their little under the sea design is kind of cute. Their prices are also pretty affordable! My boyfriend and I came here for dinner this past week since we were in the Issaquah area. Similan Thai Cuisine has been in Issaquah for a long time. I think the last time I had been to Similan was nearly ten years ago. The restaurant is trendy casual. The interior is pretty tight, but they can fit probably fit just under 50 people. The menu has all your classic Thai entree items including curry, noodles, rice dishes, soup, and stir- fried dishes. I ordered the PAD KHEE MAO ($15.95) with chicken and my boyfriend ordered the PAD SEE EW ($15.95) with chicken. We both got 5-stars because we like our food spicy, and it's rare that a restaurant gives us an actual 5-star dish. Service was quick and we got our food within 15 minutes of ordering. Portions were generous in comparison to some other Thai restaurants in the area. Our waiter also came by to check-in on us and refill our waters. The PAD KHEE MAO was very good and probably around a 4 star in spiciness. I liked that it had just a tinge of sweetness and was loaded with vegetables including broccoli, onion, tomato, and green and red pepper. The noodles were also nice and wide and evenly coated with sauce. At the table, they have some chili sauce and diced jalapeños in oil which went well with the noodles. The PAD SEE EW was also decent, although for some reason, it tasted spicier than my dish even though both were 5-star dishes. It tasted slightly sweeter than my noodles, as pad see ew should be. Prices are slightly higher than other Thai restaurants in the area. The noodle dishes with chicken, pork, or vegetables at Khao San are $13.95 and the noodle dishes at Noodle Boat are $14.95. We stopped by this restaurant as the hubby requested Thai and we were coming back from being out of town. It was on our food bucket list and didn't disappoint! My 8 year old wanted the yellow curry, but he was not a fan nor did he like the tofu. BUT us adults LOVED it. Yellow curry tends to be bland but it was decently flavorful. Thai curry tends to be more liquidy, so we weren't surprised by its runniness that others commented on. I'm still frustrated when places charge for rice to go with curry and unfortunately was the case here. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the tofu flavor and pad Thai. $35 fed our family of 4 with leftovers. I went for dinner with my family recently and had a very good experience. The interior is very nicely decorated with fun hanging lights and an ocean wall mural. The staff were very efficient and attentive. The food came out fast and hot, and was packen with flavor. I have had takeout from this place more than 20 times in my life. At least 15% of the time they have given me the wrong order . Granted they credited it after the fact but it shouldn't be this many times anyways. Tonight's meal was gross. The chicken sauté peanut sauce was so oily- It had to be thrown out - no one would eat it. I ordered the eggplant dish with extra vegetables and it was just SOAKED in oil and disgusting. the red curry plus veg was good. The Tom yum was good. I was horrified to tell my guests how great this place was. Not to mention close to $100. It's embarrassing. I was a loyal customer and no longer am. I am disappointed. I have been coming to this place for years. I think it is the best Thai restaurant in Issaquah (my opinion). The service is always good and the servers are friendly. The first time I was here, I was in a group of 4. The restaurant wasn't busy. Someone had to flag down the waitress to get her to take my order after waiting for some time. We were seated in a dining room where no one else was. When the entrees were brought out, they brought everyone's but mine. Before I could say anything, my colleague did. They asked what I ordered, so I let them know. They came back a few minutes later with an entree that was for someone else. When my entree finally arrived correct, everyone at the table was done eating. I've had the number 2 lunch special, which is chicken satay, rice and curry. This was a good size and tasted all right. Also had the sweet and sour shrimp entree, which was a meager portion with one scoop of white rice. Ordered a mango peach juice which came in a cool glass. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the area and because it's conveniently located near my work, I come here fairly frequently. I tend to order the same thing (Pad See Ew) but have tried a few other dishes and the food is always made fresh and quickly. I do find that, depending on who's cooking, the level of spice can vary quite a bit--I consistently order "2 stars" for spiciness and sometimes have no spice level and other times the food is so spicy my nose is dripping, so....be warned. I've never complained cuz I do enjoy spice occasionally but I'm sure if you did, they would re-make the dish for you. There can at times be a little wait to be seated, but with the food coming out quickly, you don't usually have to wait too long! I also order take out periodically so I don't have to worry about getting a table and my order is almost always ready before I even get there, so that's a great option as well. read more

Yum my mouth is watering just thinking about how good this place is. You have to get the crispy garlic chicken with a side of white rice. If you have leftovers, throw them in the air fryer to warm up and they don't get all mushy. The pad thai noodles are thin and not greasy. My sister came to visit from CA and she even mentioned this was the best pad thai she's ever had. The potion was huge too so that's a plus. Also the yellow curry is really tasty and filling.
