I really want to like a local place, but my experience was so subpar. No one initially greeted us upon entering. Tables and floors were -dirty-. The house chips were a little too thick, tasted slightly stale and the flavoring was coated on and not in a good way. Mac and cheese was bland. Wings were odd flavors with no classics. Food was just okay. But the problem happened when the French dip on our platter was not made properly, and then a fly landed in it. The server brought us a new batch-still runny. After a sub par dinner I asked if we could have the app discounted between the dip itself not being prepared correctly and the fly having landed in it. Was told by the manager Taylor that "she could not control the flies" and would discount the platter the .50 the dip cost her to make. When I pointed out that I was charged $1 for the Thousand Island dressing that was served in a two Oz ramekin vs the 4 Oz dip she told me the chip dip didn't cost as much to make, asked me if I had ever gone out to dinner, and had an all around rotten and insulting attitude. This might not prevent you as a customer from going but I hope this reaches an owner, because when I asked for a name of one I was told there wasn't one. So costs here are going through the roof which would be fine if the quality and or quantity of food facilitate the increase. Today on our bill we were also charged an "operations fee" of 3%. We paid cash. When asked we were told it's to offset the cost of wages and healthcare. Apparently the $19 for a small brisket sandwich isn't enough. Or the $10 for a cherry mule. The up-charge for the coleslaw was awful. I'm not sure what happened to this place it use to be really good. The owner has lost touch. Menu is smaller and not as good. What a pleasure it is to try something new, especially during this pandemic! My family all ordered the smoked turkey sandwich, which was huge and absolutely delicious. The turkey was moist and flavorful, and I easily could have turned the sandwich and chips in to two meals. We also split some onion rings. I am kind of picky about onion rings, but these were great. Super crispy but not too greasy, and there was a lot of them! The dipping sauce was tasty and not too spicy at all. We got our order for carry out and everything was hot and fresh when we got it home. The remodeled restaurant was beautiful and open, I can't wait to sit down and enjoy a meal and a cold beer there. The staff was friendly and my food was ready at the time I specified when I ordered it. Our waitress was wonderful: kitchen on the other hand: I waited 15 min longer than my husband's order who ordered a burger for my Caesar wrap...when I did get it, it was wrong; THEN it took them another 20 min longer to get my wrap out and my husband was done with his meal: we had it my sandwich to go; their solution for my troubles.... My family and I love One Tap! We have been here about 3 times since moving from portage. Sometimes it's a wait, others you get in pretty quickly . Either way, the food and waitresses are absolutely great. Every time I come I always get the same thing, it's so good and filling and never fails to taste absolutely amazing. I get the combo platter, you get to choose 2 meats and 2 sides, I get the brisket and pulled pork with steak fries and garlic bread. My hubby got the same combo platter but with brisket and pulled chicken, his sides are chili and Mac and cheese. The brisket is always so tender and flavorful, the steak fries are HUMUNGOUS and full of seasoning, the chili is super good, not to spicy. And the garlic bread.... Things I dream of. You should ALWAYS order dessert, when we brought the kids we all 4 ordered the brownie sundae which comes with a giant chocolaty brownie, 2 scoops of ice cream, whipped cream, strawberries and CHOCOLATE COVERED BACON!!! It is literally mouth watering. What a HIT with my kids! This is such an amazing place close to home for me but it would be worth the drive if it were an hour away in my opinion. My wife and I are always looking for great restaurants. Last night (August 4, 2023) we went to One Nation Tap & Table and it was absolutely true to its reviews. This restaurant has a really unique menu with many great choices made even better by their use of tablets to display colored pictures and complete descriptions. The food was fantastic and the service was equally as impressive. Mia did a great job of being attentive at all the right times and was spot on with refills or requests. There are three dining areas offered...a dining room, bar area and a nice outdoor venue to suit any personal preferences. Ordered our burger medium. It was way over done but our waitress was a drive by waitress! Very poor service. The first time we stopped in we found out they charge an extra 3% charge if you use a credit AFTER we ate. Tonight we got what we got--take what we give you, not what you ordered. Very disappointed. Had to frantically wave to get the kitchen's attention to get someone to come to our table. Manager came out and offered to make us something else but it was too late. There were a lot of people in the kitchen but our 1 burger took a long time and the restaurant was not busy--everyone else was eating. They don't take reservations but don't start filling up good until 6 pm and later. They charge 3% for using credit cards from what previous reviews wrote. We ordered the Fat Rolls and fried Mac n Cheese which were both very good. Menu is on a tablet that you get to click on each item and see an actual picture of description. That helps making decisions. I got chicken tacos which were good. Side winder fries every one loved. Burgers were super good. Inside seemed really big. Kids loved the fruit punch koolaid. While visiting BC, I wanted to try something different (and open on Labor Day) so we gave this place a try. It was delicious! I had the meat combo (brisket and pulled pork) with roasted Brussels sprouts and mac & cheese. It was excellent: I especially loved the mix of BBQ sauces on the meat. The Brussels sprouts and mac & cheese made for excellent sides and there are many others I'd like to try soon. The service was friendly and prompt; the atmosphere fun and informal. My husband and I had a great meal here! This was my first visit and I love what the new owners have done with the place. It is open and fresh and modern. We came in on Thursday right after it opened, so we didn't have any trouble getting a seat. But every other table is kept vacant, due to Covid restrictions, so it did get busy before we left. Our server, Emilee, was very helpful and attentive. She had good knowledge of the menu.. her recommendation of the Fat Rolls was spot on! She was also able to discuss the draft beer menu and make solid recommendations there as well. Our drinks came out of the bar quickly and our food was paced well coming out of the kitchen. I ordered the Turkey Fork & Knife Waffle. There seems to be a lot going on in the dish, but all the flavors from the mac & cheese waffle to the BBQ drizzle worked together. The smoked turkey was moist and there was enough food on my plate for two people! I had a full lunch the next day. My husband ordered the Cheese Dog with fries and horseradish slaw on the side and polished off all of it. The food was delicious and unique. I would call it "elevated comfort food". It is a tale of 2 situations. We ordered 3 sandwiches $12-14 ala carte Build your own burger with cheese. Nice brioche bun, nice patty, fancy lettuces, I asked for mayo- "that's extra". Since I was paying for it, I was sure I would get a little cup, nope one swipe for a fee. It's mayo on a burger, really. Reuben- nice chunks of corned beef, not corned beef lunch meat, the usual thousand island, toasted bread and cabbage slaw Brisket sandwich. Nice chunk of brisket, fancy cheese and grilled onion on ciabatta. Nice flavors The sides are where it didn't work $2-3 extra Onion rings with spicy mayo. "I would like ranch". "That's extra." I said I don't need the spicy mayo. Ok but we still charge for ranch. That is petty. 1/2 baked potato. Not quite cooked so I cut chunks then gave up. Came with sweet butter compound. Not sure why it's sweet but after the ranch and mayo sauce fight I gave up Steak fries. Clearly house made, nice big wedges. Way overdone, like hard to bite into overdone. Lastly we had 2 peach purée drink of the week. One thing you would expect for a drink called purée is purée. Nope came out clear. They substituted peach schnapps for peach purée without permission but I am not petty and didn't complain or ask for purée rebate. Beware they charge 3% to use a credit card. No one pays 3% to process a card, so that is just taking a little profit. Overall I am not fighting/ paying a restaurant for a swipe of mayo so it's probably a one time visit. read more

This is my second review of One Nation, my previous review was several years ago. One Nation continues to disappoint, I wont go back. My wife rec'd a gift card so I agreed to go with her. I ordered the combo platter, brisket and pulled pork were the meats I selected. The portions were good, I like the two sauces used. My problem with the meal was the food was room temperature, my baked potato was not warm. It would not melt the butter provided. We did get to One Nation around 5pm, which is very early for us. Possibly the potatoes werent ready yet (It was thoroughly cooked), but I dont understand serving a room temerature meal. I also had the brussel sprouts, room temp. as well. My next issue continues to make me just laugh. Our bill was $45 and some change. The gift card was for $25, I added $21 in cash, total $46. I also gave the waitress a $20 and asked for a ten, two fives. She returned with $17 in cash. She said sir, I had to take some money from the $20 to pay the bill, I asked why....she said they told her she had to charge the credit card fee for the gift card. I just shook my head, looked at my wife, we just laughed, it was a ONE NATION gift card! The waitress did a good job, she checked on us several times during our meal, I gave her $15. I know its very hard to get good help these days, we tip at 30%. Actually, I dont leave tips on the table, I hand the cash to the wait staff and wish them a Happy Birthday, tell them there is no need to get the govt. involved......they appreciate that. read more

Not recommended for vegetarian or vegan diets. I like the ambiance but menu choices are limited.

Almost everything is smoked flavored including the salad dressing. I'm not a fan of smoke flavoring, especially the fake stuff. So there was really nothing for me to eat here. Drinks were good. read more
