Had a back injury in the early 90's, designated permanent and stationary, and have been anything but, refusing to become stagnant by staying active, but every now and then the back locks up and can slow me down for days. Recently was in an extended funk, and started researching to find a local resource. Fortunately in Marin there are a lot of providers with positive reviews and feedback. As I filtered through, Tamalpais Community Acupuncture stood out to me. Booking online was simple and easy, and the following Monday had first appointment. Easy to find in Mill Valley, office has a holistic vibe and energy is good. I booked w Chalita, who is so kind and made the entire brief introduction process simple. Treatment and cupping were super effective and after two visits I was back at it getting after life!!! For many, myself included, the thought of being poked with a bunch of needles is not a pleasant one, and that is what it is. What I will also say, is while in simple terms I understand the healing benefits of acupuncture, Chalita is really great at explaining and providing insight in a way that further supported why I was there, and why I will keep going for regular health benefits. What a lucky find! Jyoti is great in what she does - she truly cares about her patients, is personable, very knowledgeable, and her acupuncture is both gentle and very effective. Her office is an oasis of calm, breathing serenity and peace - a great place for a busy mom like me to come rebalance (and even take a great nap while the needles are doing their work!) . She helped me both with stress issues and with pain in my hands. I was also pleased to find that she uses common sense in respect to client privacy (in contrast to some more aggressive providers in our area.) The only downside for some might be that she does not take credit cards - only check or cash. But that is a very minor thing. Overall, highly recommended!

The staff is awful, as in they all roll their eyes at her when she has her back to them, and when they are in the room with her, she's training them as they go. She hires people that are totally unskilled as vet techs, and she probably pays them poorly. They all look miserable. Her office is also dark and like a weird version of "Get Out", vet edition. Our pup had a UTI, and Genevieve had us worried that something was seriously wrong with our pup, and she pushed $800 of tests on us. Then, she didn't bother to tell us that she was taking off on vacation for over a week, so we sat in misery waiting for her to get back and tell us the results, because no one else in her office could do that. Basically, we helped fund her stupid vaca, because there was nothing wrong with our dog. She then told me that our pup has a thyroid issue (despite her thyroid level being normal on the tests!!) and prescribed meds for her- she totally misdiagnosed her and was going to put her on meds for no reason. I did not get the meds, as I knew she was totally erroneous in her diagnosis. Finally, when I emailed her about my concerns and shared that we felt frustrated by her lack of care....about her freaking us out needlessly...running a bunch of unneeded tests, and subjecting our poor dog to unnecessary pokes and jabs, and about her not letting us know that we wouldn't have the test results as she was taking off on vaca (leaving us hanging for over a week)....she merely responded " do what you gotta do". As in, she could not care less if we left her practice. I'm not mincing my words here...she is total trash, and completely negligent and unethical. I think you really have to be a terrible person to run your business like this, and to treat pets and people this way.
