Horrible experience with One Nevada. I tried multiple times to add my husband as a joint account holder using the online process but was unsuccessfu. We went into a local branch and told them the issue and was told that it doesn't work online. The employee added my husband to the account and ordered him a chip enabled debit card. Three weeks later his card hasn't been issued to him! Also, my debit card has been declined multiple times despite having sufficient funds in my account and my bills setup for autopay are not going through. This has been the worst experience we've ever had with a bank! read more

They cannot provide any solutions as to where your money is going and not going. They send a text asking if it was I making a transaction, I answered NO, so they allowed the transaction and blocked my debit card to where I needed a new card all together!! For something that's "Member Owned", they certainly don't do what the member needs!! Absolute Snowflakes and no backbone when they cannot give you the answers to where your money is or isn't. The initial reason for coming to One Nevada was to refinance an auto loan I have. I had a good deal, but I knew it could be better. From the first interaction with Erica, I knew I made the correct decision to stop in and see what One Nevada had to offer. Erica was outstanding throughout the process; she is very polite and helpful. Erica kept me updated on everything, even emailing me at work. When we closed the deal, I couldn't be happier with not only the deal but with Erica's customer service as well. "If you put a star on our board, you can get a prize," a girl said as we walked by her booth at the Foodie Friday event at Idlewild Park. "They're nice prizes," another girl said. And the girls were Lisa and Erica from the Nevada One Credit Union. And one of the prizes was a pen and I needed something to write with. So I put a star on the their board and Vesta did too. I took the pen and Vesta got some chocolate covered espresso beans. I also took one of their brochures, because I also needed something to write on as I wanted to make notes about the people we met at the event. We talked to the girls for about ten minutes about the advantages of credit unions verses big banks. They were knowledgeable and very nice and they let us photograph them. So my opinion is that any credit union or bank that has the foresight to send people like Lisa and Erica out to represent them, must have great customer service and also the place is worth checking into, so we're gonna do that. Five stars from me and Vesta for this institution, cuz Lisa and Erica were so nice. read more

I was approved for a auto loan though this terrible bank. I summited three different cars I wanted to buy and they denied everyone of them. And told me there was no criteria on what vehicle I could buy. They would make up some BS excuses why they wouldn't finance the type of Subaru I wanted. I will never on through them again. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a credit union. After almost 6 months without a glitch on our end ( except a negative review we posted)we could still only use $100 of our money without having to ask permission. After my last negative review I was told that I would have to come into a branch to get permission to use my money. It seems like they make up the rules as they go. Took a little while for us to be able to cancel our direct deposits, but now we have cut ties and closed our account. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. There are a lot of good banks/ credit unions in Reno are, just not this one. We are now with Heritage bank of Nevada and very happy. read more

This credit union is the epitomy of meh. When they first expanded into Northern Nevada, they had several branches (down to two now) and we opened an account at the Mae Anne branch (now closed). When that shut, and they pulled the ATM, we were forced to lumber over to this Plumb Lane branch to do our banking. I'm not sure what it is about that branch, but there is a depressing air of depressiong inside. Not good. The worst part about this credit union as a whole is that they aren't part of the credit union co-op, which lets you conduct ATM transactions at other partner credit unions. We switched to Greater Nevada, which belongs to that group, and never looked back. read more

We have been members of One Nevada for many years, long before they changed their name to "One Nevada," (which I hate the name), and I find the name changed hasn't helped their customer service at all. We've had our VISA card compromised three times through them, and it has been a nightmare each time. They claim they can do nothing to speed up mailing a new card, and the last time it took almost a month to get a new card, causing our online bill paying to become an absolute nightmare. This time, a "supervisor" in customer service absolutely "promised" to call as soon as a new card was issued, you guessed it, no call. I've read about the bad attitudes in the Plumb Lane office, and I must agree that I've had some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced from a teller there in the past, although they seem to have made some strides there the last time I had to go in the building. Ultimately, we keep our account there because we've had it there for so long, and because we've never had any better luck anywhere else. Otherwise, we'd take our money somewhere else in a second. One Nevada really doesn't care a hoot about us, our opinion, or our business. I want to amend this review as of 9-10-13. Wanita Black, the branch manager, called me in under two hours of my posting this review, and offered to help me with my credit card problems. She found the card had been mailed, verified who I was, and called me back to offer to activate the cards for us as soon as we receive them. Wanita cares about her customers, and is truly a customer-oriented manager. She has saved us as customers, and I highly recommend her as a manager and as a person! read more

After posting my original review, I received a phone call from the branch manager, Wanita Black (note that I wrote my review on Friday and received a call on Monday morning). Ms. Black was very understanding of my frustrations and resolved my issues by making sure we were credited our $100 and explaining options I didn't know I had with regard to making payments on our loan. She also told me that they are working on adding a new branch in South Reno--which is slated to have a drive up teller. Overall, I am happy with the local service and resolution to our issues, but still caution consumers that this credit union's Las Vegas-based call center needs some lessons in customer service. read more

Financial service 101: If your institution will not loan 100% value on a vehicle, let the customer know up front. That way they don't ding their credit running an application only to get an answer that is far enough below what they need to actually purchase that they can't go through with the deal. That wastes everyone's time. One Nevada not only made me look foolish to a seller, they cost me the opportunity to buy a motorcycle that was a great deal. Had I gotten good info up front I could have gone to my regular bank and gotten a loan for the full amount. Very frustrating. read more

I just received a call from Wanita Black, District Manager for One Nevada here in Reno. Wanita was extremely pleasant, had attentive listening skills, and seemed extremely concerned about this incident. She gave me some insight into staffing changes and assured me that the energy and experience in the Plumb Lane branch has changed. While I haven't gone in to personally witness this yet, Wanita seemed genuine. Wanita also called twice because she couldn't get a hold of me the first time. This kind of customer service persistence is highly valued in my eyes, and I really appreciated what she had to say. While I still cannot give this credit union anything more than three stars due to my numerous negative experiences, I do not feel it is fair to give a one star review any longer. Wanita was assuring enough to have me change my review, and I do appreciate the highly-skilled level of customer service she demonstrated to me through the phone call. I've managed people before, and I understand how difficult it can be to terminate an employee due to performance issues. Luckily, Wanita appears to be taking the correct approach and is enhancing her personnel at the Plumb Lane branch. I can't say whether I will go with One Nevada in the future, but I can no longer say the answer is an emphatic "NO!". Only time will tell and, hopefully, One Nevada will take steps to build my trust again. read more

One Nevada has become a joke. First off they were great when I first got an account with them. Now? Not only did they remove tellers to pull odd amounts out in person but they are constantly going down for maintenance. Today I can't even deposit cash into an atm. One Nevada is not convenient anymore at all! The only convenient thing about them is they are close by and can hand a card to you instantly. Oh but if your card is about to expire be prepared for them to lose it in the mail and you have to go get another card that expires in a year. RIGHT HAND DOESN'T KNOW WHAT THE LEFT HAND IS DOING! I went into the bank to open an account for my teen daughter that just started her first job. I looked up One Nevada Credit Union ... it say's on their website ... "What do I need to open an account for my children? Do they need to be at the Credit Union when I open the account? We require the minor child's identification (if over the age of 10) and Social Security card. The child does not have to be present. I had my daughters ID, and Social Security Card with her signature on both. The employee's of One Nevada Credit Union told me, my son (because they were not paying attention that I said my daughter), had to be there to open the account. I told them to look on their website, I even looked it up myself and showed them. They were rude and said no. Then they said have a nice day ... I remember saying that doing customer service a jobs, when what I really meant was F.U. They lost my business!!! read more

I am very pleased with One Nevada Credit Union today. My account was overdrafted for less than 24 hours but my $80 in overdraft fees were refunded! I called and spoke with customer service only expecting them to reverse some of the charges but they went and took care of all of it for me. It was a rare mistake on my part but a mistake nonetheless. Luckily, One Nevada Credit Union appreciates my business. read more

Your commercial on TV is extremely offensive and should be removed immediately. Every-time I see and hear this commercial it makes me cringe, as a single mother raising a son, I would never become a customer or suggest your company. Advertising leaves a lasting imprint on everyone. Not only are you advertising a mother using profanity as a form of communication with her son but she is allowing her son to also use profanity. I find this commercial to be offensive and frustrates me as a mother. Having to explain to my son your advertisement is not an acceptable way of communication between a son and mother is one more unnecessary explanation I have to share with my son. If you are the CEO please remove this commercial as it invades my families home, it is an offensive and unnecessary way to advertise your bank. As a community we do not need to add to the ignorance of using foul language to advertise. If you want a population who is uneducated and unfortunately struggle financially and can not afford to save money nor allow you to profit from your banking services, I guess your targeting the right audience. A bank to me is supposed to be a safe place, hard working families can save their money to provide for their family. If you are trying to attract a population who is trust worthy, hard working, individuals and families who want to prosper by using your services, you need to portray this. Honorable not dishonorable. Also, I would like to add the men and women fighting for our country and other countries for respect and honor of others. I'm afraid I'm going to have to cancel my VISA card, and empty my checking account/debit card and close it, also. I have had a month of issues with getting 1NVCU to replace my credit card that THEY closed (because of a Home Depot issue that they feared may have compromised my VISA). It was closed and a new card issued in late August. I never received that card. I called in October to ask about a replacement card, and a gentleman in the call center explained that he'd cancel the card I had and I could expect a reissued card in 7-10 days. I waited until early this week to find out why I still haven't received my new VISA, only to discover that card member Services had not sent a new card, nor was there a record in their notes on my account of my having ever called. This was on Veteran's Day, so I waited until Wednesday to phone the Las Vegas credit union call center about the issue again. I was volleyed back and forth four times between the credit union and the VISA card member services, with each saying the other had to issue me a new card. I finally gave up on trying to solve the issue over the phone and went into the branch on Plumb Lane. I waited 12 minutes in the lobby with not one other customer coming in after me, and not one employee even made eye contact with me to acknowledge me. A single customer already seated with one banker when I arrived had a question about a CD, and two bankers were helping her, struggling with the computer. The single teller came out to the lobby to change the date on the counter, and then returned, not asking if there was anything she might help me with. It's like I was invisible. Finally, one of the bankers came out and asked what she could do. I explained right away that I'd had a frustrating afternoon attempting to replace my VISA card, and she smiled and took me to her desk to resolve the issue. I thought, "THIS is why I like to talk to actual people, instead of banking over the phone." Then she, too, struggled with the issue, and her computer, and called over the manager, Ms. Wanita Black. Ms. Black came, peering at the computer screen over the banker's shoulder, and when I started to add explanation, she actually gave me a "talk to the hand" gesture, cutting me off mid-sentence with an abrupt "Excuse me!" I lasted about 30 seconds in silence before then taking my debit card off the banker's desk and leaving--fuming. I'd like to thank the banker for calling me right back to return my driver's license so that I wouldn't leave without it. Ms. Black was just plain rude. I've waited Thursday and Friday for a call from one of them, but that would require ACTUAL customer service. They know the story about how long I've been trying to get a replacement VISA card, something that seems like a simple task that is probably taken care of multiple times every day. I've received no call. I miss Teresa, who used to be a teller, and then a banker there. I don't know where she went, but with her gone I have no desire to do anything but go in and close all accounts. read more

I've been a member of this credit union for over 20 years (back when it started out as Nevada Federal Credit Union). They paid me a small dividend on my checking/savings accounts and they were very customer service oriented. Now, I am being charged for every transaction possible and $60 a month just to have a checking account there!! I also pay $2.00 for every ATM transaction plus the ATM fee! Now they will say we have this account where you can get no fees (but the terms are UNATTainable for most customers) and we have free ATM transactions at SELECT machines (which are not very convenient and the machines are constantly down), but it is now costing me MORE to have my account here. You would think being a member in good standing for more than 20 years might be worth something to a bank but NOT this credit union. STAY AWAY! read more

This is the most hokey backwoods place I have dealt with in modern times! They will not let me change my mailing address unless I go to a branch. As if I have nothing better to do than drive around to accommodate their requests. I did it once, it was never changed and now they want me to do it again! My sons and I came in late this afternoon to open accounts for them. Casimira Deras was the rep who helped us. She was fantastic! Very friendly and personable and efficient! She engaged conversation with my 16 year old twin sons, which is a huge feat in and of itself! My husband and I have used One Nevada for all our banking needs for 20+ years and they've always been easy to work with. Banking with them is completely hassle free. Cassie was great! I received a letter in the mail for a lower interest rate and 90 days no payments if I refinanced my vehicle with One Nevada. I went online and read reviews and I was a little nervous to proceed but I figured why not, the interest rate is so good! I called the phone number on my letter and I was directed to the department I needed. Pam answered the phone and it was about 9:00am. She was very pleasant on the phone and I told her I received this letter/offer and I wanted to proceed. She let me know all the documents I would need and asked if I could be down at her branch by 10-10:30. I said sure. I collected all my documents and headed down to the local branch. When I got to One Nevada I walked into the doors and I was greeted right away and she said how can I help you? I said Im looking for Pam she welcomed me and said she was Pam and directed me to her cubicle. So I sat down and handed over the documents that she had asked for. She got everything together and asked how my afternoon looked. Surprised I said "Im free all day". She said "Can you come back by 3:30pm today to sign everything?". I told her yes. I headed back down @ 3:30 and she had EVERYTHING ready for me to sign. She helped me set up mobile banking and explained how to make my car payment online. I was out of there by 4pm. Long story short I called at 9am, met with Pam at 10:00am and signed my approved refinance paperwork by 3:30pm. This was the easiest loan process I have ever dealt with!! I am so happy with my decision to look past the bad reviews and see for myself. While I was working with Pam I noticed the other bankers and their dealings with customers.
