This is a really fun and vibrant restaurant! I came here for lunch the other day with some of my coworkers and it was a great experience. It was a beautiful day, so the restaurant was pretty crowded. We had a nice table inside with a great window view. All of the food we ordered was excellent and the service was good. I will be back soon for lunch!!

A friend and I came here for dinner before going to the Lyric Opera. I have to admit that I did not know this place was in the UBS building right across the street! Great atmosphere and service. My friend had the "Singing Grüner Veltliner" - appropriate - and I had Prosecco. The cuban was excellent and the unusual take on caesar salad - grilled greens with shrimp - was delicious. Great place to hang out, people watch and enjoy great food before a performance.

The place is lovely and very convenient if you're attending the opera across the street, which is what I was doing with my friends. We had a large reservation and I got there early. They were really sweet and offered me the chance to sit at the table when I arrived but opted to just sit at the high tops they have at the entrance. Once the rest of the party arrived, we went to the table. The service was lovely and kind. They brought the menu of mocktails that was by the entrance when asked. The docking of stars only comes from the food and price. The food for all of our choices was just okay. Nothing to rave about. This was a bit disappointing as the price, which I'm sure is increased because of the clientele and location of the place, is a bit higher than what the food is worth. Even so, would come back just for the convenience of the location. Plus the music they played while we were there was a bop and that was fun.

    Manhattan And The Traditional Hummus

Classy and cool is how to describe this place in the Loop with a healthy and light menu. It's not cheap but get here for happy hour and there will be some pretty good prices. One North, for those who can't figure it out, is at One North Wacker. Good place for downtown workers at lunch. Those waiting for the afternoon will get some great savings. After seeing the menu and the prices, we made a decision to go at happy hour. It's quite a deal for those willing to wait for it. This also avoids the big lunch crowds of downtown workers. A lot of those people don't need to worry about saving a few bucks. For those who are more thrifty, the happy hour is the best hour. Actually it's a couple hours for deals on both drinks and food. The specials vary per day of the week. It's $10 for cocktails. On Fridays it's a Manhattan. These were strong. As for the food it has a few appetizers. It's $10 for happy hour. We got the Traditional Hummus, with it being one of the few vegan friendly items. It was a decent amount. This comes with cucumbers, kalamata olives, lemon zest, pita chips, and tomatoes. It was a good amount of food for an appetizer. The regular menu features super expensive things such as seafood and more. Get here at happy hour. It's a lot less expensive for some good stuff. The bar is good for an intimate experience or you can sit on the patio and get some good views.

The burrata looked promising, but it was disappointing in flavor. I think it could've used some more vinaigrette or maybe a fig jam. On top of that, the whole place seemed to be full of loud businessmen. There's nothing wrong with that (it makes sense for the area), but I just wish the acoustics weren't so intense. I could hardly hear a word my friend was saying!

Went to One North for happy hour, their happy hour lasts till 7pm which is almost unheard of! So very happy about that. My friend and I ordered their special which was margs and Palomas for $10 which my friend said was decent (not strong but u can taste the alcohol). I stuck to Rose which was also $10. We ordered the hot mess sliders and buffalo sliders. The hot mess was good, the buffalo sliders was a little salty which is sometimes the case with buffalo flavored foods, would've liked more blue cheese and a little more sauce... we ordered the gouda cheese balls and chicken potstickers which was decent- the sauce definitely made it better. Decent spot, bar area is nice, wasn't too crowded and the service was good. Would definitely recommend for happy hour. *we split the bill and it came to around $65 p/p including tip.

Overall 3.5! Nothing I'm craving but solid experience! They offer a decent happy hour where the drinks are reduced priced but not the food. We started with the smoked Gouda bites. They are actually pretty small compared to pictures. Don't split between more than two people given the size. They were tasty! For dinner I had the chicken verde flatbread. The portion size was good. The flavor was ok but nothing special. For dessert I had the crème brûlée. It was decent! Service was good and the atmosphere was nice.

Lovely environment. The steak was great, but everything else was standard. I had a very very cherry cocktail that was super strong.

It's a reasonably-priced busy dive bar in the heart of Chicago. I asked the bartender if she had a beer + shot deal and she said "no, but you can order a beer and shot." And so we did! Noise level is fairly high, thanks to a lively crowd plus a jukebox. They don't normally serve food but I think are fine with customers bringing in your own food, and you can also place an order from a nearby restaurant (I don't recall which one). And yes, it's cash only so bring some money if you don't want to pay ATM fees! 4 out of 5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact. I like bars that allow customers to bring (or order) their own food - it allows for all diets! The one thing I'd like to see is more beer on tap - even just one good rotating local beer (e.g., Goose Island). Draft beer has smaller environmental footprints compared to bottled or canned.

After a quick ID check at the door, the bouncer let us know it's cash only (thankfully we came prepared). From the moment we walked in, dim lighting, loud music, and shoulder-to-shoulder crowds gave the vibe of a full-on frat party, but not in a bad way. It's chaotic, energetic, and unapologetically no-frills. There's even a self-serve cooler with drink prices clearly listed underneath. I grabbed a Sapporo Premium, brought it to the counter, and our friendly bartender broke our change and offered a chilled glass to pour it into. Simple and efficient. That said, it was loud, so loud that even whispering-distance conversations were a struggle. The space is small, seating is limited, and since we couldn't snag a spot, we ended up leaving shortly after finishing our drinks. This feels like a better weekday hang than a packed weekend night. Still, if you're looking for a classic, gritty, no-frills dive experience, Rossi's delivers exactly that.

He's deeply involved in the beverage scene, and with a partner who is starting a mezcal company, they're always on the hunt for standout cocktail programs. This time, we ended up at Gus' Sip & Dip, located at 51 W. Hubbard St., Chicago, IL 60654. While we were there, a friend mentioned that Gus' Sip & Dip has been recognized among the top food and drink destinations in the country, and after my visit, I can absolutely see why. The atmosphere is fantastic, think modern speakeasy with a touch of 1940s charm. The space features rich green tones, cozy booths, and an intimate layout that works especially well for small groups. Larger parties can take advantage of some of the bigger tables throughout the space. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. Just be aware that this place is popular, so depending on when you visit, there may be a wait. As for the food and drinks, everything we tried was excellent. I didn't manage to get photos of everything, but a few highlights included the burger, the Italian beef dip, and the chicken pot pie. Every dish was flavorful and well executed. The cocktails were equally impressive, every drink I sampled was thoughtfully crafted and delicious. I would absolutely come back. The only thing worth noting is that it's a bit on the pricey side, but if you're looking for great food, exceptional drinks, and a memorable atmosphere, it's money well spent. If you have the budget and good company, Gus' Sip & Dip is a true gem in downtown Chicago. 5 out of 5 stars.

For parking you definitely should use Spothero or ParkWhiz, as it's in a very busy/lively part of River North. We loved meeting the owner who was chatting with and checking on guests in the dining room. The menu was really creative and sounded amazing, totally up my alley, so was super excited to try Ila's out for the first time. Unfortunately, and it pains me to say this, but the food itself was a miss for me, and the prices felt steep for the portions. We ordered the empanada duo, grilled scallops, birria lamb pierogis, and sweet corn agnolotti, then the Japanese cheesecake and drip coffee. The positives were that everything tasted fresh, and the flavors of the dishes were good ~ especially the empanadas, scallops, and agnolotti. The main issue was the texture of some of the foods. Other than the empanada (which had a great texture and flavor), the agnolotti and pierogi dough were not right ~ thick, rubbery, and dry, which was exacerbated by not having enough consommé for the pierogis. And the coffee - it honestly tasted like Folgers (though I'll give them the benefit of the doubt) - which took me aback as it was a $7 drip coffee. I'm not discounting Ila's and I truly wish them success. But I think there's some work to be done in terms of execution.
