Such an amazing spot! We left the 360 experience (mind blowing views, btw!), and found LUXBAR was within walking distance. We were so happy we stumbled upon this awesome place! We were able to sit outside in the shade, and the weather was absolutely perfect. The service was so fast, and the food and drinks were out within 10 mins of ordering. The decor is cool, however it was SO loud inside. One of the loudest restaurants I've been in in a long time. Walking outside after dinner was a breath of fresh air, extremely noticeable right when you walk in how loud it was. I did not like my drink at all, it tasted like cough syrup lol! Did not even finish it. My friend loved the Moscow mule. They have a whole separate gluten free menu which is awesome! Food was good!! Steak frites was delicious. They split the Buffalo chicken salad into two bowls for us! I do wish I asked for them to chop the salad when I ordered. This is my one friends favorite bar! I've been here 3 times now, so it's time for me to review! Luxbar is a very convenient place to eat if you're in Gold Coast. It's in an area with a bunch of restaurants, but I always find myself coming here. It's your standard American menu with steak, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. I got the Lux burger with cheese and bacon. Honestly, the bacon was way overcooked, crunchy, and hard to eat, but I can't say it ruined the meal. I asked for a Sprite, but I'm 99% sure it was Sierra Mist/Starry or Sprite Zero or something. I know it wasn't Sprite, though. It wasn't good. I went on New Year's Eve, and it was decorated so nicely! Lux already has a beautiful restaurant, but the balloons they had all around downstairs and upstairs were really cute. We were given the option to sit downstairs where there was more action, or upstairs where it was a bit quieter, which I appreciated. Our server was very kind and nice. I really liked her vibe, and I wish I remembered her name to give her a shoutout here. Of course, I'd recommend coming here. Despite the small hiccups, I do still find Luxbar to be a pretty good restaurant. read more

It was just a Monday and it was surprisingly busy but similar to other places around Gold Coast, you can seat yourself as well. This was perfect ending to our birthday happy hour crawl. The drinks were so good, we got their buzz worthy which has a hint of sweetness which was from the honey and it was good. The drinks can be a little strong. We also got their truffle fries but I thought there were too many tiny pieces rather than bigger strands of truffle fries. The wagyu pig blanket just tasted like a regular hot dog wrapped in a pastry so nothing special here. But overall the experience was so nice. And they also do a little cute birthday ice cream sundae. I've been to Luxbar multiple times, its a good spot to get drinks / some bites. I went for lunch Sunday with some friends, the server took a while to make his rounds before he got back to us. Once our food was ready, the food runner set it out next to both doors. The food runner just left it there for almost 10 minutes until we called our waiter over to ask if it was our food that was sitting there. People were walking in and out, waiting for their tables, and exiting the building. All within inches of the food. Kinda gross, but honestly the food here is pretty solid but nothing amazing overall. What can I say about Luxbar that hasnt been already said?! Its definitely a gem in the area an of course a staple. Patio is always full and the inside is usually packed. The Lux Royale burger is very good and it always nice to wash it down with Luxbar Old Fashioned. Came by for brunch recently and had a really good meal. Karla was our server and was really good. I got the Country Corned Beef hash and it was very good! Three Eggs over medium, hash browns, caramelized onions and mustard makes for a good dish! I got an english muffin also as you can choose a toast with the dish. Washed it all down with the Corpse Reviver which is a fantastic gin cocktail that includes lillet blanc, lemon and absinthe. We came here for dinner on a Saturday evening around 6:15. We were seated in the back. Inside it was loud and I felt like everyone had to yell a little to hear each other. The menu has a variety of sandwiches, salads, and pizzas, We started with the Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket and Sweet chili Fried calamari to share with the table. The pigs in a blanket were good. I don't love calamari but i liked the peppers and the sauce that came with it was very good. I then ordered the Lux Club. Ordering was a little hard because our waitress could not hear very well and she didn't understand any questions that we asked. The club was okay, it was very large and filling but I thought it was a little bland. I asked for it to be warmed and then they forgot and it took about 15 minutes to come out after everyone else's food came out. The place is SO loud, so if you want a quieter area ask be be seated upstairs. Drinks were ok ( my glass of wine was delicious) but the cocktails not so much. Also the size of the ice cube takes about 90% of the size of the glass so the drink is basically nothing. Appetizer flavors were good ( but not outstanding) BUT the steak was PERFECT!!! We've been passing by Luxbar for years and decided to give it a try as we always see people dining here. The first floor has a lot of tables but there isn't much space between so it is a bit cramped. The bathroom is on the second floor with some additional tables. We ordered: - Handmade Guacamole - Buffalo Chicken Salad - Baby Back Ribs (half) We really enjoyed the guacamole, but the other two were just okay. They weren't bad, but had higher expectations. The waitress was very nice, I guess not enough chicken was ready for the salad when the ribs were ready, so they made quite a bit more and brought it out pretty quickly. My wife and I decided to take a day off and do a self care day. We had massages scheduled for late afternoon, so we decided to check out Luxbar for lunch which was right around the corner. Let me start by saying the staff provided wonderful service. The food on the other hand did not stand out in the slightest. We ordered wings, calamari, salad and brussel sprouts. It was all just okay, nothing was memorable. Take this information as you may. If you're a person that eats to live come check it out. If you live to eat though.... The manager tried another app, the tuna which we enjoyed. My wife ordered steak, rare and she could not eat it because it was medium well. Was in Chicago for a girls trip and we made reservations for LUXBAR on the Saturday mistakenly instead of Friday, but we called them and they were still able to accommodate us and moved it to Friday! The restaurant was very bustling with people, I would not recommend if you are looking for quiet bite/dinner, but if you're looking for a fun night out this is definitely the place! The cocktails were truly amazing and our server was extremely attentive- props to their staff especially with how busy they were. He saw us looking around the room (for a restroom) and immediately came over to see what was up! The hummus was so good, and so were the pretzels. This was a really nice date at LuxBar for restaurant week 2025. This was my second time coming to this establishment. The first time that I came I only had a cocktail and it was during the early evening. On this occasion, the restaurant was packed. Originally, we had a reservation for the following evening, but because we were already out and about, we decided to see if we could do a walk-in on a Thursday evening. We were in luck, the place was packed, but as soon as we walked in a table had just cleared. The hostess was able to cancel our reservation for the following night and promptly seated us. The atmosphere was really electrifying at this restaurant on a Thursday evening. We were served by Alicia who was really sweet and very informative. Alicia was really good at making sure our drinks stayed cold and plentiful. Alicia also was good at making recommendations for the build your own Manhattan menu. It was restaurant week so we did order off the prefix menu. For appetizers we got the guacamole which was really fresh and then also the sliders. The guacamole was really good, but the sliders were just OK. They actually looked pathetic but tasted decent. There were no toppings for the sliders so we just use the guacamole. For our second course, we both got the steak which come with french fries because they were out of the ribs which I was looking forward to. However, there's always next time. During our meal, we did enjoy cocktails to include a spicy strawberry. My Margarita and my husband had a neat Manhattan for spirits. We also indulged in some of their complementary bread and the butter was very fresh. We ended our evening with getting our desserts to go because our parking was almost up and I didn't want to re-up. When we got home, we did enjoy the skillet cookie and ice cream and it was a nice completion to our evening. All in all this was a really successful restaurant week dinner service very good value for the price point. I would return to eat here. read more

The first two times I visited in 2022, I had an excellent experience--the food and service were outstanding. The bagel and lox, grilled cheese with tomato soup, and hummus platter were all fantastic. However, my recent visit in 2025 was more mediocre. My Bloody Mary was subpar, and my salad was just okay. I had ordered a Cobb salad with salmon instead of chicken, but received both salmon and chicken, despite explaining to the server that I do not eat chicken. Au first the service was good but it declined throughout the meal. First we tried to order 2 poor boys. Server came back and said there was only one poor boy bun left. OK one of us changed their order. Food arrived and the one poor boy was on a burger bun. To their credit they comped it. However the service became very frazzled as the night went on. I've been to LUXBAR on several occasions for dinner and have always loved it so I was super excited to try it for brunch this past weekend! This area of the Gold Coast was extremely busy and we arrived on a Saturday around 10 AM which felt like peak brunch times. However, we were able to get a table for two outside and only wait about five minutes. They do a really great job at making sure to seat people in shaded areas on really hot days which I definitely appreciated. The service from the hostess to our waitress was absolutely top-notch and felt very attentive without hovering. This is one of the more affordable Gibsons restaurants in the immediate area but that does not mean it skimps on quality. I had a vegetable omelette with a side of turkey sausage and fruit, and my husband had steak and eggs. We both got a non-alcoholic beverage with ours and in total our bill came out to around $50 which is truly not bad for this area of the city. The food was so delicious and their hash browns are obviously freshly grated potatoes and were so flavorful. We would absolutely come back to brunch in a heartbeat! read more

Luxbar is a go to Gold Coast spot for lunch, happy hour or dinner, and in the summer it is delightful to do their sidewalk seating and people watch! My favorite item here is their buffalo chicken salad- a fan favorite! I recommend asking them to toss the dressing in the salad before they bring it out to you. They also have tasty sandwiches and burgers, and I like to share the fries with friends. The service is always pretty solid, and the ambiance is lively! I will say I think their prices are a bit overpriced, but nothing surprising given the neighborhood it's in and the restaurant competitors surrounding them. read more

I really enjoyed my dinner at luxbar - the Gibsons hospitality really shows through! It's a great option for a casual (and affordable) but good quality meal with an upscale service feel. I came on a Wednesday night and it was quite busy, but not overly packed and easy to have a conversation. Definitely recommend getting a reservation though. I had heard great things about the espresso martinis here and can confirm that they were DELICIOUS. Also started with the crab cake which was a large portion and served with slaw and a sauce. We both got the salmon which was crispy and flavorful and split sides of mashed potatoes and broccoli (ordered separately). The potatoes were fabulous; the broccoli wasn't anything special but nice to have a veggie. Ended with the cookie skillet which was excellent.
