What began as an injury to my left shoulder almost 4 years ago became a painful, weakening…read morecondition. I had been to physical therapy more than once, had an MRI and then a steroid shot in another city. When I moved to Houston and the pain was worsening and the mobility was decreasing, keeping me up at night and throbbing in the day, I made an appointment with Dr. Brian Banh. He spent time assessing and then treating the shoulder at each of our sessions with plenty of time and attention. He listened to me as I reviewed each week's improvements and added to the treatments each time creating more healing, movement, and strength. Now I'm off to another city and he has given me exercises to condition my upper body so I can continue the process of improvement. Amy, at the front desk, and Dr. Banh are professional and friendly. They run an efficient office but most importantly, they delivered results. My old injury is now not limiting my mobility thanks to HYPE Sports Medicine and I am so thankful.

Dr. Ho LITERALLY gave me my life back! I had fallen against a brick wall and hit my elbow. I was…read morein pain daily from my neck, back, shoulder, down my arm all the way to my wrist. Finally, after a year and a half of dealing with the pain and it and only getting worse, I decided I had to do something. Dr. Ho would tell you I have a high tolerance for pain, but this was unbearable and I would wake up every night in tears it was so bad. I went to Texas Orthopedic Hospital to a shoulder specialist who wanted to shoot me up with cortisone, I'd had X-rays, an MRI, and went to a very well-known neurosurgeon to try and find out what the problem was. I didn't want to temporarily fix it, I wanted to know what was wrong. He said he didn't know why I didn't just get the cortisone shots and walked out of the room. If I wouldn't get sued, I would tell you his name. I couldn't believe it. I'd driven almost two hours to go see him because he came so highly recommended. Needless to say, I didn't go back and was furious! A friend recommended I go to a chiropractor. Her chiropractor in Wyoming recommended two in Houston whom I researched, but saw Dr. Casey Ho had, at that time, 20 five star reviews and was also an acupuncturist. HE'S who I wanted to see. He got me in the next day. Three needles later, ART, and an adjustment, and I walked out pain free...PAIN FREE!!! I'm grateful DAILY that I found him. I've been going to him for eight years now because I tend to be somewhat clumsy, and have taken some pretty bad falls, mainly because of my dogs, but they were completely my fault. Unfortunately, both shoulders have torn tendons. Each time after my appointment, I've walked out with no pain and have full range of motion in both arms . Thank you so much, Dr. Ho. You're my hero.

Made an appointment for 4:00pm on a Saturday and when we were almost there we realized we had to…read moreturn back around to get my girlfriend's ID. We called to verify whether or not it was needed to see the doctor so we turned back and rescheduled for 4:45pm after they said the doctor was leaving at 4:45pm. After speeding through traffic we called from.l the parking lot to see if they would still take the appointment. We went in, filled out the paperwork and paid the woman at the front desk. They let us all the way into the examination room. The doctor came into the room and asked us to come back on Monday. He stated he was leaving in two minutes. I made a scene leaving the establishment letting them know I was displeased they even decided to take my money with the chance that we wouldn't be seeing the Doctor. 5 minutes passed before my girlfriend received a call asking us to come back. I was amused at what would come from this so I decided to go along with it and give them a chance a redemption. So we are back in the same room, no apology from the doctor. I'm sure he felt very awkward and embarrassed as how he could not maintain eye contact. My girlfriend told them she thinks she has strep throat so they administer the strep throat test. After taking the swab sample they tell us afterward that the test would be an additional $30. Here I am; annoyed and practicing my best poker face. Not being upfront about all costs included until it is too late I consider the same as lying. Being that this is a family care practice it would be conducive to make sure your patient knows any and all costs involved prior to seeing them and administering any pertinent tests. After receiving diagnosis and relevant prescriptions for care, I proceeded to the front desk to speak with the employee. I asked her politely why I wasn't informed about any fees regarding a testing procedure until it was already administered. She had told me she didn't know what it cost until the doctor told her how much to charge. I asked if they knew there would be a charge before the test was administered. She paused and looked at the other employee and I answered for them. "So you did know. I can tell from the look on your face." They insisted that there was no choice for me but to pay the fee and apologized that they didn't inform me. They acknowledged the fault was their own and they failed at their responsibility before finally escalating to their office manager who then waived the fee. All in all we got what we came for however the experience was most displeasing. They were indifferent with me until I was forced to show my discontent with their establishment and escalate the grievance further until it reached their manager.

The physical therapy seemed fairly standard (electrical stimulation, rehab exercises, myofascial release) but I have not gone for many visits yet. The massage though was one of the best. I have gone back for massage since and I can say that Jennifer is the best therapist I have tried in town. She was able to mix deep pressure with good and thorough techniques. They do play music during the massage but it is a very clinical setting. I recommend it to those who are looking for something beyond relaxation therapy.

I was told before surgery you didn't see ANY arthritis so surgery would be a good thing- After surgery on my second visit when I nearby jumped off the table from the pain of you moving my knee you replied well you had arthritis so that's probably from the pain. When i went to physical therapy after the physical therapist could not reach this Dr and messages left at front desk were not return. During my surgery you should have not done a thing if my knee was too complicated for you. I could have gone to someone with more knowledge on complex meniscus tears. Your first choice to have the surgery was Methodist (really) You have to see people as human beings - people in severe pain who reach out for help with solutions not to make things worse.

Ultimately, I found an AMAZING acupuncturist - Dr. Sharon Weng at The Oriental Art of Healing - Instant relief after just one session, 4 sessions later, no carpal tunnel -- At a fraction of the cost, with legit healing and positive results - I found a real healer - I will never go back to West Houston Orthopedic.
