I brought my 2007 Nissan Frontier for a check engine light and inspection. It has 150,000 miles and as usual, scan, get the code, fix it. Not necessarily. Codes just get you near the issue? Tony at One Stop had the Patience and experience of working on older vehicles to solve the issue. Working on older vehicles can be TIME consuming and Costly. Having owned many vehicles since the 70's, I have some knowledge in maintenance and owning older vehicles. On a friend's referral, I went to One Stop. Do Not regret it. $$ well spent to solve my problem and GET that inspection the CORRECT way. If you are looking for a CHEAP fix, band-aid type experience, the back yard is the way to go. It's 2023, parts, labor, etc. are all up big time. Cost of living and breathing. Every legit garage charges computer generated cost sheets, and part prices are set at distributor. My girlfriend took her 1999 Ford POS to a random mechanic in Rhode Island to get it inspected and it happened to be One Stop. This guy took advantage of her expertly. 'It's gonna need about $1200 in work to pass inspection...' Long story short, he 'found' new things wrong with the car after every time she took it in and $2500 in (to a $1800 KBB value car) I put a stop to his shenanigans. Here are a few of the highlights of this scammer, in no order. He wrote out 'Labor Cost' but not in units (hours), just a random (high) number with a dollar sign next to it. Replaced a rear brake bulb and a plate bulb... $40 and $30 labor respectively... How many dollars does it take to screw in two lightbulbs? It turns out the punchline is '70'. Replaced two struts, buying the quick fix type ($200) that take 30 minutes a piece to put in, rather than the normal type ($60) that take an hour or so... charged her $320 in labor... but what is labor per hour? Who knows... $320 an hour I'm guessing. Of course, he didn't offer her an option, just bought them and installed them then held her car hostage until she came up with $750 when she was expecting $350 bill... 'Replaced' two tie rods... one of the replacements was a used stock 1999 Ford POS tie rod otherwise known as 'the old tie-rod'... Anyway... he's a shady mechanic, but he is truly expert at bilking single moms out of money he knows they literally don't have, so if you're into that sort of stuff you should check him out. read more

If you make low income then this isnt the place for you... This guy charges alot. Makes up crazy hours it will take to do a job. Was going to charge me $800- $950 to do a heater core job that another shop said they would do for $400. If you dont know anything about your car or how much each part is worth to fix. he will take advantage of that and empty your pockets. I am writing this post to all those struggling just to barely get by and are looking for a trustworthy reliable mechanic this is not the guy to go to. Call all around different shops and get estimates from them on avaerage price it will be for the job you need done... read more

This just in; Give me a brake! I just put new brakes in my wifes car, because Tony at "Don't Stop" told us, that when her car was in there last fall, the rear brakes were worn down 90%, leaving only 10% remaining when her car went in last week, and that they were virtually gone now, and needed immediate replacement, well, he did achieve his goal, he put my wife into a panic, and she was nervous about driving her car until the brakes were replaced. So, I got home from work at 1 am Saturday morning, and after 6 1/2 hours of sleep, knowing my wife really needed her car, and always conscious of her safety and peace of mind, and wanting to get it done before the weather came, I pulled the wheels, having new brakes by my side, pulled the old brake out, which had remarkably regenerated and within just a few days, and now were roughly 50+%, and since the front brakes do most of the stopping in a vehicle, I was very thankful to the car gods, but not so grateful for the fear and scare tactics used by One Stop, to try to pressure people in to having work done, that would have been very costly, but in no way imperative or necessary. Praying on the naive, or innocent, should be considered a crime, or at the very least, bad business, but one thing is for certain, if you give him your business, he will most definitely give you the business. I really like to support the local economy, but in todays economy, I can hardly afford to pay through the nose for things I don't need, or take it up the tail pipe, because I trusted someone who sends pictures, and does an extensive multi-point inspection, to appear to be thorough, while actually looking for as many things to repair, replace or or pass off as to critical to ignore. I have moved on, and have no axe to grind, but I would sooner let a woodsman repair my car, then Tony The purpose of being able to write reviews on businesses, is to help others find a great and reliable place to go, it's also to protect people from being taken, lied to, terrified to benefit a business by what ever it takes. Went in at 8:30 when they were supposed to open the owner Tony did not show up until 8:45am. I needed a serpentine belt replaced and I did not have the tools to take off the motor mount so i decided to have Tony do it. I had provided the belt. We both agreed it would be about a 1 hour job. He said he could not get to it until later in the day but it would not be a problem mind you I brought the car in at 8:45am and it was only an hour job according to the Chevy book and multiple other sources. 5:45 pm rolls around and I still don't have my car back so I sent him a message as he said he prefers text but no response till 7pm when he tells me it is not done and it will be in the morning. Okay so I wait till 12pm the next day to msg him still nothing finally get a message about 2pm telling me its done. I go to pick it up and get the bill $267.00 in labor for the one hour job and a $24.95 charge for jumping my battery. We had discussed it being $100-$150 the most and that was including an oil change. So when all was said and done it cost me $309.00 for an oil change and belt repair and I provided the belt. Unless you are broke down in front of this shop I would find somewhere else. When I told him the bill was very high and double of what we talked about he said he has more overhead and better tools then most. Most ridiculous response I have ever heard. He knew I was in a bind and took full advantage of me. read more

Tony is the most accommodating guy! We needed a moving truck on the busiest weekend. There was not one in all of RI available. He searched and called us the second he saw something pop up on his end and stayed open hours past closing to make sure we got the truck. Great place! This review is based upon the Uhaul service. My boyfriend put in a reservation online for uhaul at this location early last week to pick the truck up at the end of that week. I had a few questions and went the next day. The man that I spoke to didn't have the reservation info and blamed it on the uhaul website. I call my boyfriend right there and handed over my phone to the man. He put the information into the computer and told us that he was going to pick up the truck on Thursday afternoon so we can pick it up Friday morning at 9am. My questions were answered and I left. Friday morning comes and my boyfriend walks down (10 minute walk) and speaks to the same man to pick up the truck. Not only was the truck not there, but the man tried to deny that there was a reservation in the first place! Mind you, I was there IN PERSON with my boyfriend on the cell phone for earlier that week! My boyfriend is angry of course and after bringing up the confirmation for the reservation from uhaul on his phone and mentioned that his girlfriend had literally been there when he put it into the computer and that he spoke with him on my cell phone, the man suddenly remembers. Of course, this doesn't help us as he doesn't have the truck and it is all the way in Providence. He was totally unprofessional and not only cost us a 2 hour delay in our move, but an extra hour of payment for the movers for doing nothing since there was no truck to load. My boyfriend had to drive my car all the way to Providence, pick up the truck where it was located (he said that he didn't have any problems with these guys. We don't blame them for this mess as they didn't know and they also called uhaul to put in a complaint regarding One Stop on our behalf), leave my car there, drive all the way back so we can finish the move, drive all the way back to Providence so I can get my truck, and then we were able to leave. It took 2 hours for the 2 trips back and forth from West Warwick to Providence. Ridiculous. read more
