I just got a laser cataract surgery (Trifocals lenses),on my both eyes. I'm amazed by the results. Right after the first day from surgery, my vision was already great. The lasik surgeries (needed a touch up on both eyes) resulted in near perfect vision. Definitely not 20/20, but fine. Dr. Pillar was professional and attentive when I saw her. However, beware the office checkups with the other doctor! Guaranteed wait of 30-50 min for the single optometrist to check your eyes. EVERY SiNGLE TIME. If you like being kept waiting for half an hour or more, if you like not getting a call back, if you like waiting a week for your prescription this is the place for you. Dr. Sanford Feldman was exceptional and gave over the top personal care. I was so happy I stayed for 30 years and even did radio ads for him. But he retired and that's when the problems began. The good reviews on this business were when Dr. Feldman was in charge. The office has gone drastically downhill since his departure. I was scheduled for a PRK surgery it turned out I didn't need. Instead, Dr. Pillar suggested eye drops for my dry eye. She asked what pharmacy I wanted the prescription sent to. I told her CVS in Point Loma. Two days later I received a text from an out of state digital pharmacy saying to contact them for my prescription. I called the office and spoke with Angela who really isn't in the office but in a call center. I again told her where I wanted the prescription sent to. A day later still no prescription but another text from the digital pharmacy. I again called Angela and told her again where I wanted it sent. She called back and said it had been called in to CVS. When I went to pick it up, I was told the digital pharmacy had billed my insurance and I could not get my prescription until they voided it and called CVS. I called the office again and asked to speak to the office manager Blanca and to leave a message for Dr. Pillar.I was told I couldn't leave a message for Dr. Pillar, but I could email her. I tried but was not given the proper way to spell the email so still have no way of letting her know what is going on with her staff. This place was recommended for Lasik- I was seeing another eye doctor, but then they couldn't do the surgery for a year, so I found One to One. I went for the screenings with Dr Pillar and her scheduler was very friendly and worked with my busy work travel schedule- from the first visit I got the surgery within 3 months. The staff of the office acts really nice but what they're not telling you is that they're conning you into getting a bunch of unnecessary exams and pictures. They will tell you it's all covered by insurance and then when you go to leave you'll be smacked with a nearly $300 bill out of pocket in office and then you'll receive another almost $200 bill in the mail. This is all with insurance. All I wanted was a simple eye exam so that I could order a new contact prescription and I walked out of there with way more than that unnecessarily because I figured OK if you say it's covered by insurance why not, boy was I wrong. 10/10 DONT recommend. read more

I brought my Dad in for an appointment. This is a hardship as he doesn't walk well and has to use a mobility chair so getting in and out of the car is a trial and I have to lift a 48lb scooter in and out of the trunk. We were early when we checked in. The waiting room was full. Then it began to empty and I noticed people that came after us were starting to be called. After 20 min I double checked that his appointment was for 2:05 and we were checked in. At 2:29 my Dad complained about being kept waiting for so long and I told the receptionist it had been over 20 min and we were early. I told him to give it another 6 min until 2:35, that would be a full half hour. I was looking right at the receptionist. At 2:35 I told him, time's up, it's been 30 minutes, let's go and he turned his wheelchair around and headed out the door. I told the receptionist we would be sending for his medical records. They seemed shocked anyone would leave. Not sure how long they expect people to wait but in college it was 20 min for a full professor. I gave Dr Pillar and extra 10. If there was an emergency or some other justifiable reason to keep us waiting that long, no one ever communicated that to us. It was unprofessional and disrespectful. This is not the only office in the city that treats cataracts. When we got home I told my Mother that when she goes to her eye doctor we will have my Dad's records transferred there too and they can both see the same doctor. I would not recommend this business to anyone. In fact, I would warn against it. read more

The best decision of 2016 was to listen to my cousin--because she led me to Dr. Sanford Feldman, the best LASIK doctor and eye health advocate that I have had the pleasure of working with for the very first surgery of my life! My vision changed 15 years ago in middle school. I've been wearing glasses for 10+ years and contacts for 5+ years. LASIK was something I had always heard about but didn't give much consideration until recently: I was about to run out of contacts and my eyes were already feeling irritated from wearing them too much and I just pondered if I really wanted to order another year's worth of lenses and multiple bottles of cleaning solution again. "Timing is everything"-- an adage that stands the test of time. My birthday was also around the corner and I was about to turn 26. A long time ago I remembered hearing that around 25 years old that the eyes should be done growing or stabilizing. Since I was already going on 26, I decided that perhaps my eyes could be better suited for LASIK this year and it would be a birthday gift to myself. When I met Dr. Feldman, he was direct, informative, and thorough in his approach to my interest in LASIK. I thought this was the 'classic' consultation for LASIK and walked out feeling like I knew a lot about LASIK and it was up to me to consider cost as the only impedance to going through with the surgery. He had informed me that I was the ideal candidate considering my gender, age group, and eye measurements. He also informed me of the risks unique to my eyes as well as advise me to give my eyes a rest for 2 weeks from contacts in order for further pre-op measurements to re-confirm his medical assessment that I was the ideal candidate for LASIK. I walked out of his office insisting on a second consultation with another doctor to make sure I was really an ideal candidate on LASIK and that the care that I would be receiving would be top notch. He modestly said to me, "My best sales strategy is to have you go to another office." Surely, his humble opinion was nothing short of accurate. I went to another LASIK center that a friend recommended in San Diego where she had her procedure. I felt like I was being pushed in an assembly line: 1)I spoke to a doctor who said little-to-none about my eyes or the procedure and sent me out of the patient room quickly saying I could have my surgery the very next day if I wanted to, 2)I was sent to a back-office financial adviser who also acted as the LASIK marketer/expert/scheduler who was too much of a salesman, 3)Finally, I was told I would not meet my surgeon until the day of surgery . Although this may not be atypical in other surgery situations, I REALLY didn't want to end up with dealing with the initial Doctor who initially rushed me out of the patient room for any future post-op care because he was already so hasty and careless about my consultation: I couldn't fathom putting my eye care with someone who gave me no reason to trust him with my concerns. I called back Dr. Feldman's office knowing two things: I was an ideal candidate for LASIK and that I had chosen a doctor who I knew would be the best doctor for me because he would be there from the beginning, middle, and end. He had already told me during the first consultation that I would be 'stuck' with him if I had chosen him as a my doctor and I could not be more grateful for his dedication to me and the health of my eyes. The best thing about Dr. Feldman is that he is a man of his word: the morning after surgery (surgery was quick and painless btw)-only 12 hours later, I woke up with excessive tearing in my right eye. I work by 7am and had to call at 6am to his after-hours call center to help me. The center connected me with the doctor and he told me to meet him at his office before work to help me with my eyes. What dedication! I was elated to have my doctor agree to see me as quickly as he did as if it was a medical emergency by one of his own family members. I met him, he helped me, and sent me on my way to work and I made it in to work by 7! It was a minor issue that he was able to resolve in minutes! He sent me off with his cell phone number to let me know that he would be there for me if I needed him since weekends the office is closed. I have been highly recommending him to all of my coworkers at work and I cannot be more satisfied with the service I've received. My vision is only 3 days in but already it is amazing and I am only waiting for more time to pass before it is 20/20! Please consider this office and Dr. Sanford Feldman for your LASIK needs. You do not need to look far to have someone who cares about you and your vision once you meet him. I have great respect for someone who puts in as much compassion and humanity into his practice as he does his medical expertise! Great with children. It was a couple years back and I mean to post sooner, but my son had this aggravate style that also looked like a deep cyst, and Dr Feldman had to make a very small incision to open it. He kept my anxious son so calm and cool. His words, "Mom, can you trust me to try something with him," though I was hesitant at first he made the experience very comfortable comfortable sure enough my son was very still and cooperative. I recently transferred to see Dr Sanford Feldman and I am so grateful I did. I'd asked for a referral from my primary Dr Brian First who I truly respect and work well with. I work In the medical field and had been seeing Dr Taunton at Dr John Bokosky's office. I liked Dr Taunton and saw him for a decade. But due to a particular problem with my eyes I saw Dr Bokosky himself. I had not seen him since my initial appointment a decade ago. OMG what a horrible and shocking experience. I have seen him several times in the last few months to try to resolve what is not an uncommon problem, but is a complicated issue in particular with my eyes. And what an amazing professional, person and a good match for my treatment. I am very knowledgeable of my medical issues and working in the field I'm aware of what makes a good clinician. What I observed initially was that his staff is proficient, respectful and works well coordinating things with the Dr. He treats his staff respectfully and his team spirit and coordination of care with staff is immediately obvious. And most importantly, he asks if that works for the patient. He is patient to listen and answer all questions. I'm not really sure what made me grow serious about exploring LASIK, but I think it was the fact that I knew dozens of people who have had it, and not one of them had any regrets and said it was the best investment they ever made. I wore daily contacts 80% of the time, but I was getting really sick of them. So many of mine would tear just by taking them out of the container, and it felt like such a waste of money/packaging. Mine would also often rip while in my eye, so I always had to keep extras on me. PAIN IN THE REAR. As a very active person, I hate wearing regular glasses. My prescription was about -4.25 in both eyes and I am 35 years old, an "ideal" age for LASIK. First, I went to a top-rated high-volume clinic in Mission Valley. They were perfectly nice and I had a pleasant experience. When it came to the pricing part, it was extremely gimmicky (one-time $800 discount, $200 extra for 3 years of "enhancements") and had options that no one really could explain well. It seemed like a pretty decent place and had tons of great reviews, so I went ahead and scheduled the pre-op and operation appointments. The doctor who did my evaluation was very nice, but it was weird to me that I couldn't speak to the doctor who would be performing the surgery until the day-of. They also mentioned I had thin corneas and could do "either" PRK or LASIK. After talking a bit about being interested in getting LASIK on social media, I received a flood of responses from friends who had it and the doctor they recommended. I was pretty confident in my choice of the first place given the social proof it appeared to have online, but decided to shop around a bit. ESPECIALLY after playing Dr. Google with the take-home materials and finding out more and more about the different types of LASIK and the risks. (Risks were conveniently not talked about at the first clinic.) One specific friend of mine's review stood out, and it was for Dr. Sanford Feldman. I was warned to make sure I was looking at the right Dr. Feldman as there is another Dr (Sandy) Feldman who runs a high-volume LASIK practice. Noted, and found the right Dr. Feldman. Newly armed with my Dr. Google knowledge, I blurted out what I knew already and probably threw Dr. Feldman off a bit of his usual informative session. I was blown away by how knowledgable Dr. Feldman was, and how he took the little nuggets I learned and expanded upon them in great detail. He spent 2 hours with me and I left fascinated, educated and very well understood. Dr. Feldman was also INCREDIBLY forthcoming about the risks. As a project/program manager by trade who is obsessed with understanding and tracking risks, I was impressed that the risks were 100% transparent. I felt better about knowing the risks bluntly than not knowing much of anything until I was left to Google. After my consultation, I was confident that Dr. Feldman was the right choice after meeting him, talking more to my friend who was his patient, and reading his reviews online. He also had no-gimmick pricing: one all-inclusive price that still beat out the factory LASIK place, but was still well within market range (not cheap by any means). Fast-forward to pre-op: I had measurements done at the San Diego Eye Bank and brought them with me to Dr. Feldman's office. He spent over 20 minutes with me confirming the best prescription for me after dilation when we noticed one of the readings at the eye bank for my left eye was quite higher than previously measured in the office. We spent almost 2 hours at this appointment going over all of the results from the eye bank scans, and Dr. Feldman made sure I knew what all of them meant, and why it meant I was (still) a good candidate. Surgery was Monday and was a breeze. It was by no means a comfortable experience (it seems to be human nature to not want anyone messing with your eye), but it was really quite easy to get through without any true pain. I was able to clutch a stuffed bunny-shaped marshmallow Peep, which was dynamite (anyone who knows me can confirm). I was thrilled when 4 hours later, my vision was already almost perfect. The day after I was at 20/20 vision. I am currently obsessed with going outside and looking at the details I never saw before (INDIVIDUAL LEAVES ON TREES!), even with contacts or glasses. I am so excited for the future as it takes a matter of weeks to settle into the final results, and I still feel like 24 hours after surgery, my sight was more than acceptable to live with forever. Especially after understanding the risks and getting my expectations set realistically, I feel incredibly lucky and grateful that my vision turned out as great as it did, as fast as it did. Dr. Sanford Feldman did my mono-vision LASIK for both eyes 48 hrs ago. I woke up both this morning and yesterday able to see the alarm clock (GASP) and then look out the window to see the leaves on the trees across the street. I was able to drive myself to my post op appointment yesterday and I am currently 8hrs into an obnoxious work day staring at massive spreadsheets with zero vision issues. I am amazed at the balance he was able to provide in order to manage my need to work in front of a computer screen all day and then be able to spend evenings and weekends outdoors chasing kids and soccer balls BOTH without contacts or glasses after 20 years of wearing contacts. All of the other reviews that note the time, education, patience and care that this office offers to every single patient are 100% true. Dr. Feldman took great care that I understood what was happening, that I was making well-informed decisions, and that he ultimately was providing the solution we both found to be most appropriate. God has only given me one set of eyes, they weren't perfect, but even so to have anyone surgically alter them is a scary thought! Dr. Feldman checked and rechecked to make sure exactly what was needed to have me seeing 20/20. Dr. Feldman has been my ophthalmologist for about ten years. During that time, I have had a number of eye issues, both large and small, and have always felt that I was in good hands. At one point, my vision kept changing and I needed a new prescription every few months. After Dr. Felman's Lasik surgery, the world was clearer and my prescription remained constant. As the years went by, I needed cataract surgery as well. Prior to both surgeries, Dr. Feldman explained all of the options and performed many pre-operative tests. He provided choices and patiently detailed the pros and cons of each option. His office staff guided me through procedures related to the surgery and showed the same amount of care and concern as the physician. When reporting for annual eye examinations, the staff, most of whom have been with Dr. Feldman for at least the ten years I have been seeing him, always greets me with a smile. The pre-check-up procedures, such as the initial vision screening, have been performed by the same person and I feel somehow reassured to see him each time - despite the fact that he will dilate my eyes and do some other things that are necessary but not my favorite (glaucoma testing is at the top of that list). Dr. Feldman himself is knowledgeable, well-read, current and thorough. He responds thoughtfully to questions and gives each patient his full time and attention. We are individuals to him. These same positive traits can result in longer waiting room times, but the confidence I feel in my treatment is well worth the wait. read more

I don't even know where to begin! Dr. Feldman has changed my life! Backstory: I went to his office over 2 months ago to see if I was a candidate for Lasik. His office was nice, clean, and the staff were extremely inviting. I did the initial tests and assessments and got to speak with Dr. Feldman about why I was a candidate for Lasik and what to expect. My vision was 20/400 and I had severe astigmatism. He went in detail for 45 minutes what to expect during the surgery and the results we were shooting for. Not only was it great to take the time to explain it in detail to myself but he also did to my wife, who was overly nervous about me getting the procedure. He put my wife's mind at ease and we elected to do the surgery. Surgery was quick, easy, and I felt no pain during the procedure. He also allowed my wife and mother in law to be in another room to watch the procedure. Immediately after we checked my vision, I was already 20/20!!!! Unbelievable!!! Dr. Feldman and his staff were incredible through my whole process of Lasik eye surgery. Some key points and results. 1) There was something iffy in my initial visit and I had to take one extra test to verify I was a good candidate for surgery. Things were all set-up at the surgery center for me and I showed up and was in and out in no time. 2) Had a small issue with paper work that was mailed to me and the price not deducting the $100 I paid for the additional test I had to take. New paper work was e-mailed to me the same day with the deduction. 3) I was running a few minutes late to one of my appointments and the staff called me to verify I was still coming in and I told them I was just around the corner and no issue. 4) I had some irritation prior to my 1 week post opp appointment so I called up and the staff got me right in for a visit that afternoon. The Dr. noticed the issue was an ingrown eye lash so plucked it and I was good to go. 5) My last appointment yesterday I was in the area early so I popped in to see if I could be seen earlier and no problem at all they got me right in and out. 6) Dr. Feldman's process, touch, and prescription made they whole day and days after Lasik completely comfortable and manageable. 7) Most importantly my eye sight is terrific and will be for many many years to come. read more

I was referred to Dr. Feldman by my optometrist to remove a cataract in my right eye. Dr. Feldman's office is very well organized, and everyone on the staff is very friendly, so I felt very comfortable. Doctor Feldman really spends time with each patient and explains all the options, and how the procedure will go. Doctor Feldman performed my cataract surgery at the Eye Care of San Diego clinic in Hillcrest, and the pre-op and surgical team at that clinic was also excellent, everything went very smoothly. I had no discomfort during the surgery, thanks to the anesthesia that Dr. Feldman recommended. Recovery time after the surgery was about 2 days, the surgery was performed on Thursday and on Saturday I was able to drive, and the vision in my right eye is now very clear. Dr. Feldman is fantastic. He is the kind of doctor I wish was a general practitioner so I could see him for everyting, not just eye issues. He explained everything clearly, he answered all my questions and made sure I understood every step of the process. I never felt rushed when meeting with him. If I had the opportunity to give ten stars instead of five, I most certainly would! I have been a patient of Dr. Samadani's for many years, and she has continued to provide stellar and superior service to me. Recently, I had an eye "event" and called the office. Dr. Samadani was out of the office that day, but Dr. Feldman was on call. Within an hour and a half of my call, he met me at the office and proceeded to oversee a number of tests, and then, diagnosed my problem. He was extremely thorough and explained the situation and my options. Not only did he answer all of my questions, but he showed an incredible sense of concern and caring. He was absolutely amazing. Not to mention all the other staff members. Megan, the Technician Supervisor, worked diligently and tirelessly to ensure I secured an appointment with the referral doctor as soon as possible. And, the front office ladies are just as kind and personable (plus, they play great music!). I was an 81yr old cataract patient with great trepidation regarding someone messing with my eyes. I had also been wearing glasses since I was in my 20s for near sightedness which was about 20/200 in both eyes. Dr. Feldman Gave me an extensive examination and gave me my options in great detail,emphasizing that with any procedure there is risk and the results may not be perfect.As with any medical procedure one has to follow instructions given. I was most impressed by his total dedication to details and thorough explanations. The outcome was spectacular. With the Restorer lens I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes. I am so grateful to One to One LASIK! I had an eye ulcer about a year and a half ago, right around Christmas time, the ER doctor on call recommended I go see Dr. Maulik S. Zaveri. He treated my ulcer and it healed with no scarring! I had been thinking about getting corrective eye surgery for a while now, the ulcer just pushed it to the top of my todo list. With a nearsighted vision of -7, astigmatisms in both eyes, and very thin corneas, I knew it would be a risky surgery. Having Dr. Zaveri as my surgeon there was no hesitation. I knew he would be able to get the job done. I just had my year post surgery check up and I have better than 20/20 and my eyes look great! One to One LASIK is a very friendly environment. I feel compelled to submit a review regarding Dr. Sanford Feldman, out of sheer gratitude. I have been a patient at One to One LASIK for over a decade and I have been overwhelmingly impressed with the entire staff. Because of my cataracts, I was plagued by painful glare, and I was not able to safely drive at night or on sunny days. My poor night vision caused problems that put me at risk for a fall. Last week, Dr. Feldman removed one of my two cataracts. Admittedly, I was terrified by the process, that is, until Dr. Feldman explained, in meticulous detail, the surgical procedure and options available to me. When I left his office, I was an educated patient. He had patiently answered all of my questions in detail and, feeling confident after my consultation appointment, I committed to having the surgery. In my wildest dreams, I would never have been able to foresee the life-changing outcome. The surgery itself was easy and utterly painless. When my bandage came off the next day, I was overwhelmed and overjoyed with the unexpected outcome. I could never have imagined that I could read with ease, see the clock, sight-read music or drive without my bifocals. My night vision had improved and problems with glare was minimized. My balance and stability seemed to improve overnight. (The only downside is that I can now see my dirty windows!) I will be singing Dr. Feldman's praises for a very long time. Best vision of my adult life - no more glasses - since I had cataract surgery by Dr. Feldman. After removing my cataracts Dr. Feldman put multi-focal lens implants in both eyes. Now I can read and drive and work on the computer without glasses. I used to have separate glasses for each. I can even do close up hobby work without glasses. In low light, like reading the menu in a dim restaurant, I turn on my cellphone flashlight. Other than that, I can see to do everything. I still wear off the shelf sunglasses in bright sunlight.
