In 2024, Dr. Dao was conducting a routine check up on my vision when he correctly diagnosed that I was experiencing a rare inflammation condition in my temporal arteries, and sent me straight to the emergency room at UCSD Hospital in La Jolla. I'm new to town and needed to get my annual eye check up. Dr. Dao was recommended to me, and I am so glad he was! I have had glasses/contacts for 20 years, and visited an eye doctor for almost every one of those years, and can say without a doubt this was far and away my best experience! From start to finish I was treated respectfully and professionally, and felt like my best interests were truly being cared for. We began with taking pictures of my eyes to check for any issues, including retina health and macular degenerative. I was also able to actually see the images of my eyes, and view how it is analyzed both visually and statistically, something I have never even seen before. They can even track your images over time if you're a regular! We then finished with reviewing my lens prescriptions, a glaucoma test without any puff of air(who knew this was possible!?), and a final up close look inside my eyes by the doctor's trained eye. From start to finish, a fantastic experience and I will definitely be coming back! Parking is a little tough but there are 4 dedicated spots for Mosaic so I didn't have a problem. We did one eye, waited 1.5 months & did the second eye. I'm now testing at 20:25 two weeks after the second surgery. I got the multi-focal lens in both eyes and while it was expensive there have been no other charges other than the hospital charges for the surgery. Dr Eck was never in a hurry, he answered all my questions & gave me all kinds of information that helped my peace of mind.
