They had to get up and ask someone themselves for the table to be cleaned. There were maybe 2 or 3 waiters and maybe 2 or 3 food runners, and it still seemed like they were all overwhelmed. I don't think it should have been as complicated. Not sure who even was our waiter because they kept switching. Chef Chopra introduced himself and explained the complimentary montadito, and presented the current specials. We loved that he took time to ask what brought us in, and when we said that we were building a new home in Bartlett only minutes away, he shared that although he has been all over the world he always misses good old Bartlett, IL. This is the kind of connection and service you won't find at franchise restaurants! We enjoyed cocktails, myself a dirty tini with bleu cheese stuffed olives, and my husband the traditional old fashioned and the P'tit old fashioned - both of which he enjoyed. We ordered the hummus for an appetizer - my husband never orders humus. Not a drop was left. It was so flavorful, and since I am intolerant to gluten we loved that it was served with cucumber "chips". We will definitely order this again! Our entrees were both specials - mine the steak and shrimp tower and my husband's the Birria. We could t decide whose was better. The shrimp and steak were so flavorful and beautifully cooked, and the beef and consommé of my husband's was out of this world. My takeaways from Le P'tit: We will be there - regularly, before we move into our home, and after! Have a cocktail, they are fabulous. Talk to Chef Chopra any chance you get. The locals were still very aggressive towards us as if we were the ones being disrespectful. Before things got out of hand I had to approach those who were making the setting uncomfortable to know that we were just here having a good time. Things were okay. I live in the area and I would expect this kinda of behavior from the city but not from a suburban bar. C'mon on now, We were in search of a local bar that we could have a good time at. I was not expecting this type of behavior. To top it off I tipped in cash and left a tip on my cc cause the bartenders were good. Honestly, I did not see anyone else in that bar tipping the bartenders. The bar staff is great, just be careful with the locals.

The drinks are relatively cheap and the staff was friendly to us the whole time - what more could you ask for from a dive bar?! While I can't say that it is like this all the time (I honestly wonder what Friday & Saturday nights are like...) I can say that we enjoyed ourselves. We were given the wrong salad, but our waiter let us keep the wrong salad and gave us the correct one. There was also missing pizza toppings, but he still charged us for the missing toppings. We had to ask him to take off the charge. The take-out is easy and quick. They also offer their slushees (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to-go which is cool. Their pizza is Detroit style and is decent. If you don't like burnt crust edges and less sauce than cheese, you probably won't like this style of pizza. I do wish the crust was a bit thicker. I tried some of the bourbon peach tea slushee and it was refreshing! If I go there to dine-in again, I'll get one. They have 50% off pizzas on Monday so I'd like to come back for that deal.
