UPDATE: 10/10/2014 Dear One World Cafe, It's been a long time since my first post. During that time I stopped visiting Moscow and actually moved here. You were sold to one of your long-time employees and she has made vast improvements. We've both changed. I think for the better. Your staff has turned over and everyone employed now is friendly and caring. I always feel welcome when I walk in the door. Your menu has increased and is DELICIOUS. The turkey-pesto sandwich? Yes. Please! You rotate your delectable soups, have awesome little vegetable and hummus cups to snack on, and your beer and wine selection is great. You are now the ONLY place I will study in town. I love the new arrangement of the upstairs and the rotating art on the walls. I love the big bright windows and the board where you can buy a coffee for someone else. You are the best cafe in town. You served good coffee and although your baristas were a little pretentious, I gave you another chance. My third trip to your store was when I realized my previous judgments had been wrong. The open layout of your store makes it so, no matter where you are, you can hear the loud guy talking in the front. The bagel I was served was stale. Your employees forgot to write on the chalkboard that the room I was studying in was reserved. Then when a group showed up and rudely demand that I leave the room, your employees didn't even so much as wince at their mistake. And because there were no seats left in the whole of the cafe, I was basically booted from the place. I really wish you were a better cafe. One that was more on top of things like stale bagels and room reservations. Unfortunately you are not and I will not be returning. OWC is where we go for coffee in Moscow. We really like the atmosphere and being locals, they know what we want before we even order it. They make an excellent mocha and it's never burnt or nasty. Of course the more experienced baristas make it better. Not just tasty, but beautiful presentation too. You have to remember, these are mostly college students. They aren't "crazy hipsters", they are just kids trying to pay the bills. Andrew the manager always have something fun happening on the weekends. Live Music, spoken word, poetry reading, Espresso throw downs, fire dancing outside. Most of those that frequent this place are there to study and utilize the free wi-fi between classes. They have a great group meeting room in the back that is used by many community groups. They offer a few snack options. I highly recommend the chicken salad/crackers plate although it's not always available. That can be annoying. The music is variable too. It's always at the mercy of whomever is working. They have a couple types of organic microbrews. Not a huge variety, but they have IPA. They have a few types of wine as well. And now a rotating selection of specialty wines. FUN!!! They have a nice kids area with books and crayons. I'm a little disappointed by the lack of games. They have one mix matched chess set but the checkers pieces walked away. In the back there is a section of books that are for sale. They don't mind if you take one to your table and just read it for a while. One World Cafe is definitely a calm and cozy place to get away, get work done, or chill with a friend. I really enjoy the second story because I feel like I'm just further away from reality and if you like to people watch, then you can do so. I ordered myself a Mocha and they did not disappoint. The mocha was full of chocolatey taste and was fitting after having breakfast at the Breakfast Club which is literally a few yards away. The classic small-town indie coffee shop. You may be on a small-town Idaho main street, but once you step food into One World you're transported to Brooklyn. People with hipster beard, flannel, and toasters for wallets fill this spot as we listen to live music on our locally-sourced cruelty-free tables filled with beans harvested somwhere. Recently re-discovered this place. Now whenever I'm in Moscow, I'm sure to stop in and order a Cubano-style Latte with either coconut flavoring or lavender. Always delicious and at any coffee spot, consistency is key. I love this cafe. First of all, the espresso is good. Damn good. No burnt flavor here. Second, the atmosphere is really nice. I hear a lot of people bad mouthing this place as being overrun with hipsters, but I'm from a place overrun with hipsters, and I've spent a lot of time in LA. One World may have a few sucking down a latte at any given time, but it is certainly a mixed crowd. No need to bring a camera to post a pic of them on diehipsterdie. The music here is great! Lots of indie stuff. The internet is fast, and I have never had slow or impolite service. In fact, most of the time the baristas engage me in polite conversation. My favorite coffee place in Moscow. The place is pretty big - upstairs seating, comfortable chairs to plop down in, tables and chairs. The artwork is pretty neat too. I love the coffee and the service. The coffee is local (out of Troy, ID!) There's a lunch menu too, but it is pretty limited. it's tasty though. They have beer and wine too! I spent most of my time in Moscow at this lovely little coffee shop. With two levels, this place is a great spot if you're looking for somewhere that you're guaranteed to have a table to get some work done. They have food and coffee drinks as well as lots of different food items. Some of the staff is friendly than others, but maybe I caught some of the girls on the wrong day. I dont really write reviews but I felt like I needed too. I got an iced matcha with honey, got my drink and it was milk. Could not taste the matcha or honey. I brought it back and asked for more matcha and as I walked away I could tell they were annoyed...this is your job...meanwhile I got my drink back and it tasted the exact same. One World Cafe has been here since I first moved to Moscow for school in 2005. It was such a great resource for me​ since it was a safe, comfortable place with reliable wifi where I could come to study when I had gaps between evening classes (back then, the U of I campus didn't have nice areas to hang out, and the campus wifi was super spotty). It's been years since I graduated, but this place still holds a special place in my heart. Their coffee and hot chocolate are super tasty! read more

Probably one of the more popular places in Moscow to get coffee so its usually busy. But the wait isn't very long and there is usually plenty of seating. The service is wonderful, good place to do homework, catch a band in the evening, or get your coffee and hit the Farmer's Market on a Saturday morning. read more

I've been going here for four years. Good place for homework and the mochas are decent. They always seem to ignore my request for whipped cream though even though I'm pretty sure I get charges for it. Some of the baristas are kind of uppity (hello you're making coffee in Moscow Idaho get over yourself). Nice place to do homework. I like how they go for fair trade, I like their cheery board out front, and I like sitting at the bar and playing with their magnetic poetry. I'm afraid the coffee itself is old and over-roasted. Once redeemed with copious cow stuff, it tastes like burnt marshmallows. Not a bad deal if you like to burn your marshmallows. I've sampled all the coffee shops in Moscow, and this one ranks as the best: It's ascetically pleasing with colorful artwork, a decent amount of seating, and a coherent casual decor; it has live music and brings in the community; it uses great locally roasted coffee; and it has beer/wine. There is also room in the back that you can reserve for meetings/groups. Overall the best, most welcoming, coffee house on the Palouse. Oddly enough best bagels in town if all you are after is basic cream cheese and carbs. The bagels are provided by panhandle bakery but it's a simple bagel toasted with the right ratio of cream cheese. Best coffee shop in town! This place is an excellent place to study, read a book, watch some live music, or hang out with your friends. There are plenty of places to sit comfortably and the atmosphere is open and light, while still being cozy. The food is really good for a coffee shop and they serve beer and wine!!! Not very good service. Bitter espresso drinks when they leave the shot sitting too long. Kind of a rude, and indifferent staff. Not an inviting or relaxing atmosphere. Pretty good. I've been a barista for years and they could work on some of their drinks the ratio of their flavors in their drinks. Chai was much too strong in one drink I had then the next day I could barely taste it. But overall pretty good. read more

The atmosphere and service were both good at one world. The coffee, however, was not. I ordered an americano and what I got... was not. It was weak, burned and ultimately devoid of any good flavors.
