I found them stopped talking a couple times, which would have been fine if they didn't work slowly anyway. I have a 3000 sf house, exactly 1000 sf on each level. I told them not to worry about the basement and not to touch the stove (ours is hard to clean). I also said not to worry about vacuuming since I needed to clean the ceiling fan and would have to vacuum again anyway. They did vacuum though. When I heard the vacuum, I decided not to remind them since it would only take a few minutes. It took longer than it should have. They did the whole main level (1 half bathroom, kitchen, dining, 2 living areas) and an upstairs bathroom and the sink of a third bathroom. That's barely over a 1000 sf in 4 hours! They didn't do windows, baseboards, ceiling fans, oven, smudges on doors, vacuuming stairs, etc. They did a good job on what they got to. It wasn't a deep cleaning though. I have had a different cleaning service come before, and it has taken four hours to deep clean everything (except the basement) even when my house was very dirty. This time, my house was not that dirty (it wasn't that clean either). They were nice and professional, and they seem honest as well. They are not a $25/ hour cleaning service in my opinion though.

So I cancelled it and offered to pay him $125 for the little work he did. His plan was to do the 2 trips with that little trailer and charge me the $375. There was no way he was getting the rest of it on that second load. I could have taken twice what he took on that trailer in the bed of my pickup. He refused my offer of $125 and counter offered at $225. I refused his offer of $225. After I told him he didn't do $225 in work he said I cancelled in the middle of the job and would bill me the $375 and that if I refused to pay I will see him in court. Guess we are going to court. I chose him because he was a veteran and I though I would help a guy out but lesson learned.

I was initially quoted one price, but then the office manager kept calling me, saying the cost would be higher because the water "wasn't clean enough." Then I was told the three cleaners needed six hours--despite the house being in good shape--because it was "more than what was quoted." They upsold me a "deep cleaning," but I have pictures showing they missed basic things: two drawers were left dirty, and the tops of bedroom doors were still dusty. On top of that, no one told me carpets weren't included in the deep clean--even though I specifically mentioned there were two carpeted bedrooms. The office manager took my card over the phone, then emailed me the quote while I was already on my way to meet the cleaners. She ended up charging me **$280 more** than the original quote. I asked for a final bill and told her I'd be using a different card. She claimed they don't keep card info--yet three days later, she charged my original card without my authorization. Unbelievable. Completely dishonest. Even the carpet cleaner I had to hire afterward asked if I was sure anyone had cleaned the house. He couldn't believe three people spent six hours and still missed drawers, dirt under the baseboard heaters, and more. This was the worst cleaning job I've ever seen. Total rip-off.
