We went in for some plants for our fishtank and got schooled on the rocks/faux plants we were using, even down to the fish food in the best way possible!!! While I don't blame Aquaholics for this, I blame the young man who sold it to us for not educating us about the possibilities because there is no way we would have taken a chance with our boy's life. But like I said, it was a 1 off incident and James, the owner of Aquaholics reached out personally to offer his condolences and help. He treated me like a grieving friend and I appreciate that from him. He has a wonderful shop and is a kind man.

What my metaphor hopes to convey is that this is the most enriching fish store I have ever experienced. Every species was kept in an appropriately sized and clean tank. Something I didn't see that I reliably see at big chains: dead fish! An additional simple metric of how I rate a pet store is based on how they keep betta fish, if at all. The one betta I could locate was kept alone, in a planted tank that I would say is at least 5 gallons. Shark Reef has plenty of supplies, food options, and medication. I went to get some Seachem Kanaplex and might have just found my new favorite fish store.

Buyer beware, Purchased 3 Ko Angle fish and 1 black angle on April 27 for $127 with tax. Came…read moreright home and let the fish bag sit in aquarium for 30 minutes. As I released the fish I noticed 1 of the Ko Angle fish was not looking good. It died in 5 hrs. Called the store and explained the fish died. They refused to give me a refund or store credit. I have had tropical fish for 65 years and know how to take care of fish. They won't even call me back. This was my first and last visit to this store. They cost $30 a piece. Stay away from this store. Very bad customer service.
