Update: I'm in my third year living at Camden and have still had a great experience living here. The leasing office is beyond helpful and my unit and the grounds are great! My only issue I've had have been other tenants harassing me for leaving positive reviews and speaking highly of the campus. Now, does the community have issues, of course. That is, as I stated in the last review, not exclusive to Camden alone. The staff here fight continuously to make this a great community and I'm thankful for that. Oh where to start... Hopefully you read this review before signing the lease. I wish I had. 1. Moved in and found dead roaches painted over in the cupboards. Later I found out that there were live ones and it took 3 exterminator visits to resolve. 2. Your mailbox is not secure. I had several items stolen (one being a license plate for my brand new vehicle). 3. Half of the entrances and exits to the parking structure do not work. Then they fix them a few weeks later only for then to break again shortly after. 5. Get ready to be woken up by your neighbors burning food and it setting off the fire alarm at 1 in the morning. 6. Maintenance either seems understaffed or negligent. Or both. Simple maintenance requests get "completed" without the issue being resolved. I'll stop there I guess. For Transparency, I live at a neighboring building. I have had to repeatedly call to report an alarm (prolonged beep every 5-10 seconds, no joke) going off all day and night. On occasion they have turned it off after I call, but only to have it going off again the next day. It's left on all day and night until I call again. They had the same issue this time last year and it went on for a few months. Well...Just recently I walked over to the property to see if I could speak to someone in the office. And, I just happened to run into the entire crew outside after what I assume was a property walkthrough of some sort. The gentleman who appeared to be in charge saw me walking their way asked me if I could take a picture of them. I said "I'd love too", because I right after I was going to ask him a question/favor and I did. I asked if about the alarm, pointed to exactly where it was and explained that I live in a neighboring building and that it was very bothersome. The man said not a problem I'll have someone take a look. I did not just say ok, because that is the same simple response I expected, so I tried to explain that I had been the one calling them to report this to add enfaces that it's not a one time issue. I did not push further as they were being polite. Less then 24 hours later that same alarm is going off again and has been for hours, as again, they didn't fix the issue, they bandaid it and then continued to ignore it. It's an alarm and they are aware of it. After having the whole crew having heard my complaint only to have none of them address it beyond 1 day is disheartening to say the least. I tried to do this the neighborly way and speak with them directly, be it over the phone or in person, but it appears as you might expect that gets you no where. My car was broken into and window shattered, my packages have been stolen numerous times, items stolen from my property, including my bike. We've been dealing with mold and roaches, something I've never lived with before. We moved in and found most of our appliances were not working properly. Camden management is a joke and as useless as it gets. They do not care about residents. There's mold growing in the hallway, and trash all over the parking garage. The parking garage gates are constantly broken. Based on comments from our community portal there has been 18-20 car break-ins or windows smashed, 4 people mentioned property stolen, 3 cars vandalized, and 2 cars stolen in the last three months across the parking garages. Our mailboxes have been compromised, mail stolen from inside our locked mailboxes. I truly wish we never moved in here. I saw the negative reviews and I thought it wouldn't happen to me. I lived at Camden from mid-January through November 1, 2024, and my experience was extremely upsetting and costly due to an ongoing cockroach infestation that I believe was present before I ever moved in. Within a couple of months of moving in, my daughter visited (around March) and spotted a cockroach. I immediately treated the unit myself and didn't see activity again for a while, so I hoped the issue had been resolved. Unfortunately, the infestation returned later, and it became clear this was not something caused by my living habits -- I had only been there a short time, kept a clean home, and repeatedly tried to manage the problem. The situation escalated to the point where I had to discard most of my belongings out of fear of bringing roaches with me. Despite my efforts, the problem followed me even after moving out. Six months after leaving Camden and staying with a friend, a cockroach appeared there as well. After relocating again to another apartment months later, the issue resurfaced -- showing how severe the infestation had been. This experience caused significant financial loss and emotional stress. I lost furniture, personal property, and peace of mind trying to escape a problem that should have been properly addressed at the property level. Additionally, during my residency my car was stolen at the Camden Long Beach community, adding to an already difficult living situation. I only lived there nine months, yet the impact has lasted years. No resident should have to throw away their belongings or worry about carrying an infestation from one home to another. ROACHES AND DISHONEST STAFF. (See photos below) I'm not the type to leave Yelp reviews, but this experience was beyond ridiculous. I applied for an apartment at Camden Harbor View after being shown a virtual tour because the unit I was applying for was not ready yet. Based on the location and what was shown in the tour, I applied immediately. That turned out to be a huge mistake. Everything was done online, but once I actually showed up to pick up the keys and stepped inside the apartment, I knew right away something was wrong. There were literal roaches in the sink, and there were homeless people sleeping on the property within about 20 feet of my building. I immediately went down to the leasing office. I didn't cause a scene or make a big deal I simply explained the situation and politely asked if I could cancel my application and get my deposit back. One of the employees verbally told me it would take 7-14 days to receive my $5,000 deposit back. After I left the office, I received a text message saying it would take up to 21 days, which is already a long time considering I needed those funds for another apartment. Once the 21 days passed, I received an itemized statement (no check) from Camden and them saying it could take another 4-6 weeks to receive my deposit check. This makes absolutely no sense considering I have it in writing via text message that my payment should be received within 21 days. When I sent screenshots of the text message to the office, they tried to claim that the message only referred to receiving an "itemized statement" within 21 days, which is clearly not what the text says. At this point the explanations from the staff keep changing, and it's hard not to feel like I'm being given the runaround simply because I decided not to move forward with the apartment. If you're considering applying here, I do not recommend it whatsoever. Save yourself the headache and bs. read more

PLEASE LISTEN!!! Whatever you do, don't move here and make the mistake that many before have made. 1. If you own an expensive car, do not move here. It will be stolen or broken into and security will be sleep. 2. Amazon packages will get stolen often, ring cameras will not save your package. 3. Camden put $200 on my credit even though I disputed it and we cleaned up extensively. Called the office and requested it to be taken off even though we had to move out of 8th floor of 6th building due to EXTENSIVE MOLD because of FAULTY CONSTUCTION AND BAD PIPE UNIONS THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING. We had heaters running up OUR already high electricity bill, couldn't use our bathroom for months, had mold spores on some of clothing in the corners of the closet so we had to wash or dry clean all of them, had to throw out one of our room jacket cabinets due to not being able to bleach the back of it from a sickly yellow, and various other changes of life because of this nonsense. All Camden recommended was using your Renters insurance to find a hotel while they cleaned up. What a help that was when it happened in the bedroom one time, then the bathroom pipes exploded having a river running into the closet and then the other bedroom's closet had mold on three different occasions. The next door neighbors already had their leaking problems for months and we had to walk over plastic every time we came home. That is on top of our car being broken twice, homeless people yelling at all times of the night, and some homeless dude smearing ACTUAL FECES CROSSES ON THE FRONT DOORS OF THE APARTMENT. Granted these are not Camden's fault, but thank God I don't have to deal with that garbage at the place I live now ... and it is cheaper and in a better place. On top of all of that, elevators were inoperable at indiscriminate times (at one time BOTH were down in the building and people had to walk up a 9 story building's stairs), my Amazon packages had been stolen so many times I stopped having them delivered there, the internet was trash and was down more than the elevators but there is a MANDATORY tech fee of $100 a month, regardless if it up or not, and the parking garage had times there were people who did not even pay the $100 / month parking taking up the spaces for days without getting towed. I let the whole mold litigation go since my 3 year old daughter has all of the lesions on her chest cleared up since moving away early until they decided to stick this on my credit even though they never mailed disposition on my dispute. I could've paid the $200 straight out, but it's the principle behind the whole matter. I've paid $3500+ for an apartment for years dealing with all this garbage and they have the nerve to try to sneak something erroneous on my credit without even sending me correspondence when I try to go through the proper channels. RUN FAR AWAY. Our experience at this hellhole over the past 17 months has been a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. The staff here are cold, and could care less about the residents! Here is our story: On May 1, our car was broken into for the first time in our lives. Despite paying $100 a month for parking, there are no working cameras or proper security measures. And it happened again within the same month! We did everything right - parked under a light, no valuables left inside, car locked - yet it still happened. That's just the tip of the iceberg. When you move in you are giving access to the resident portal and that's when we realized what was going on. What they show you on the tour is a complete lie. The unit was not at all cleaned when we moved in: acrylic nails on the carpet by two windows, skirting board damaged, blinds missing, patio door which did not lock. If you want to lose sleep over fear for your safety this is the perfect place for you! TVs in the common areas constantly do not work. They can't even spend a little money on properly heating or cleaning the pools. It's all about profit here. Maintenance may come by to work on something in your apartment so they can close the ticket, but don't expect the issue will actually be fixed. Our dryer still doesn't work properly, toilet paper rolls fall off the slanted toilet paper holders and doors have to be slammed closed as the doors still haven't been properly fixed. MOST OF ALL - WE ARE NOT SAFE HERE. And Camden couldn't care less. We complained constantly about kids breaking into the pools. These aren't just kids trying to have a good time. They harass, threaten and assault us. They are criminals in the making and the police don't want to deal with them either. We've witnessed them attacking our neighbors after our own encounter with them, and the stories just get worse. Now people are breaking into apartments, the bike storage, etc. Someone smashed the window to the store downstairs yesterday. Cars are stolen and broken into daily. Residents constantly talk about carrying their own guns now as everyone knows nothing will be done aside from their own actions. The office has template responses to everything - "oh we tried" "oh it's just a part of living downtown" "oh we improved this or that but unfortunately we have no control". WORST "management" I've ever experienced. I lived a mile from here for 5 years before this. Not in a luxury building, but had peace of mind feeling secure and protected there. I regret leaving. These are not normal issues we experience here, though Camden wants you to think they are. There were arson fires here so they finally "hired 24/7 security". What a joke. The guy looks for a place he can chill and do nothing or is across the street playing basketball while he's supposed to be protecting us. There is no real security here. We need armed security at each pool entrance and at least two security guards patrolling the garage who are ready to actually do something if they see an issue! I can't believe what we got out of our first "luxury apartment". I'm so sad that instead of enjoying what could be nice amenities, I now answer my door and walk my community with mace and a knife because I can only try to protect myself at this point. We were flooded during the heavy rains and had construction for months. Constant garage break ins, leaking/rusty pipes that spew debris into your sink, leaky/rusty pipes in the garage that damage cars, unavailable amenities, unsafe grounds with break ins happening within apartments, dog waste everywhere...and the office never picks up their phone. I was ready to move into the Camdens today and the conditions were unacceptable and unlivable when I walked into this building. The office was closed. I have documentation of a broken door, roaches, dirty carpet in the hallway.  Furniture and trash in the hallway. Graffiti that is maybe gang affiliated. I was going to move in with my elderly mother and we were frightened when two men got into a heated argument that looked as if was going to end up in violence outside of what was going to be our apartment unit.  I will speak with management on Monday. My furniture is currently in a rented U-Haul.  This situation is costly. This experience is causing me anxiety; the standards should be higher for the amount of money it cost to rent here.  Safety should be the number one concern.  I cannot put myself at risk by moving into this building. After living here for 6 months, I know I will not be renewing my lease. Despite having access to a covered garage, our car was stolen given Camden corporate's inability to address issues in a timely matter. They only have leasing specialists and sales managers on staff at the Harbor View apartments-- this means that there is no property manager despite thousands of units. The door to the garage is broken, allowing our car to be stolen. As we work from home, we don't have theft coverage and now have a gutted car we still have to make payments on that we need to fix out of pocket. There are many luxury apartments in the area with similar amenities, and although the sales staff here tries their best, they are not equipped to deal with the very real issues of downtown living. This is the last place anyone wants to live... I never in my life had to live somewhere and always have to watch my back on everything!! Packages are stolen multiple times from me and other people in the community, car break in are daily all the time for all of us ! I have been harassed and attacked by someone clearly not living here and yet Camden have not done anything but told me to call the police... they don't care about anything here but the money they are taking from us. Literally run from this place. They took advantage so hard of a situation. I was last-minute trying to find an apartment after being unsuccessful for almost a month. I thought I found my dream home however I didn't. I put down a $500 refundable deposit is what it said on the ledger I didn't even do a tour with a person. I did a virtual and during this tour, the hallways smell like utter garbage and dog pee. The unit was fine. It was still a little dirty and looked like it needed to clean. However, everything else was OK. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel the lease only a few days after putting my deposit down. I never signed a lease or anything. Then I kept calling and getting the operator and nobody at the front would answer. When someone finally called me back, they were upset that I was canceling due to certain situation in my personal life. They refuse to refund me my $500 deposit and so cold and rude about the whole thing. I am so glad I didn't move in there because the staff is rude and horrible and the entire place smelled horribly.I am currently seeking legal advice because of this. Stay away there are better apartments than this. read more

I don't like writing reviews but I hate the feeling of being worked over even more. When we moved in, we did not make a big deal when the front door lock was broken, the screens had rips in them, the dishwashing machine was broken and the hot water heater was also broken. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and they replaced and fixed everything, which was stressful on move-in day waiting until 10pm for it to be resolved. They gave us a small credit which was nice and we thought moving forward there would be fewer obstacles. However, it seems there is just something fundamentally wrong with the management of this property and the lack of true caring for its tenants. Here are some examples for you to review before moving in. I am also selfishly writing this so maybe they start giving some proper attention. You might ask why 2 stars and not 1, well the location is fantastic, walkability is great and the buildings look very nice. 1. We have seen cars with windows smashed in (lack of any cameras to help them file a claim essentially they are on their own). No accountability a theme you might recognize throughout the rest of this review. 2. Packages are constantly stolen, no accountability, not sure why they do not just require all package delivery be sent to the front office and keep them all locked in a room. Rather than letting Amazon/Fedex/UPS/USPS drop stuff on the floor in the mail rooms that are not well protected, direct them to the office. 3. Water takes forever to heat up and runs out quickly. 4. Community wifi goes down constantly making a WFH life stressful (Camden says to just call spectrum and takes no responsibility, and then you have to play middle man sometimes talking to spectrum and pass information to Camden to have them request a bigger repair). *Required to have this and pay for it. 5. No warnings for expected loud noises. There were construction repairs on the main hallway attached to our walls (no heads up, ruined a few of my important work calls, and no apology for their surprised loudness. This went on for two weeks. Again could have just sent an email or flyer warning us but nothing) 6. Lack of care when it comes to complaints. There is an alarm that goes off whenever someone in the building does not have batteries in their smoke detector, this is a loud annoying alarm that reverberates through my apartment due to proximity. They do not resolve this, it goes on all day until we get out of our unit go to the specific hallway and press a button. We were told not to press the button and call, which results in no action on their part. I am writing this with over 2.5 hours of it still ringing in my ears. 7. Minimal effort repairs - Dishwashing machine we let them know the soap door was broken and needed a new spring. They removed the spring and jammed the door back in. "Fixed" but actually it will not release any soap so we have to time when we can put soap in and wait until the first rinse cycle has completed, partially open the door, and put in the proper dishwashing soap. read more

The apartments are nice, however management is abysmal. Packages are constantly stolen. I moved in a year and a half ago, and many residents (including myself) have been complaining constantly about this. Absolutely nothing has been done, but plenty of empty promises have been made! We've even offered solutions, yet none of us are listened to. The building numbers are not clearly visible, so many delivery drivers get lost. If an emergent issue were to arise, emergency vehicles (ambulance, police) are likely to encounter this same issue. Has Camden done anything about it? HA, absolutely not. It also reeks of urine outside wherever you go, which seems fitting at this point. This is definitely a "first world problem", but certain equipment at the gym has been out of commission for 8 months now, and Camden makes excuses after excuses that assure us nothing will get fixed. Their primary excuse? "We called the company to come fix it and they've been very busy." For eight months? Laughable. You get what you pay for here. The apartments are cheaper than most in this area, and there is a reason for that. read more

First, if you've recently signed and aren't happy, take advantage of the 30 day satisfaction guarantee. We did. We lasted 13 days, and now we couldn't be happier. Now, for the review...let's start with dog piss. I mean, literally everywhere. You walk outside onto street level and you're immediately greeted with a fresh wof of dog urine. You think you'd be safe in the garage, but you'd be mistaken. Everyday you walk off the elevators and there puddles of piss nearby waiting to greet you with its stench. Second, safety...there is none. Cars are literally getting broken into and stolen every night and you have a group of teenagers wreaking havoc. There is absolutely no security in the garage, and the Camden owner will probably say something like, "Unfortunately we cannot prevent some situations that do occur in a metropolitan area." Here's the thing, each parking spot costs $100 and there are 9 buildings with 9 floors. (81 total floors). Let's say there are 15 apartments on each floor and each person has one car. Thats $121,500 each month, which is $1,458,000 a year on parking fees. Where does that money go? Telling me you can't put some cameras in the damn garage when you're making 1.5 million a year on parking? Third, the state of our apartment. I'm sure the person who previously resided in your our apartment was charged a cleaning fee. Well, they should be refunded. There were nail clippings and hairballs along the sides of the wall, our patio door did not lock, and the screen door on the patio was torn and held together by tape. Not sure what kind of "luxury apartments" these are, but usually luxury apartments are clean when you move in. All in all, terrible experience and would not recommend this place to my sworn enemy. read more

Omg. This place is circus hell. Work van parked next to me got windows busted and all work items were stolen. Neighbor still complain about rats in her ceiling for a month now, but no help. Crazy lady ran by me and almost knocked my kid over to chase a security guard that towed her car. She was parked 15min only in 20min zone at her building. Graffiti in the stairwells by the Pike and on the elevator doors. Amazon boxes ripped open and things thrown in the bushes. Dirty water coming out of kitchen drains for days. read more

Found this really nice shop inside Camden harbor work/ live Loft in LongBeach called Nina B trap hair Salon. Classy and it's really a vibe here the lady Nina was doing my hair tonight and she ran out because she heard the thumps and noises coming from rats in her walls and/or ceiling ... I COULD not believe it .. Loud as hell sounds like Bigfoot in the walls . Crazy ... she said she told management about it . And yet and still nothing really has been done. So sad she mentioned she moving soon . Management or leasing should do something about it but I had to post .. see video read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE. My car was stolen from here not even a week after moving in, constant break ins, theft, packages stolen, currently dealing with ANTS AND ROACHES. This isn't the first time this has happened here. Homeless are constantly on property, stay FAR away. The garages have NO CAMERAS! So there's nothing to be done about that. Might I add, while the officer was taking the report for my stolen vehicle, he had to stop my report in the middle of taking it due to an active burglary on a first floor unit. read more
