Wanted to get the honey garlic since the reviews of that were good. Looking forward to trying them, but I'm sure I'll enjoy them since I love their original and their furikake. They had four ounce original, furikake, hot furikake, honey garlic for $6/bag and 10 ounce furikake in the shop. (I don't remember the price for the 10 ounce.) Great service - you ring the doorbell and someone comes to open the door in a very short while. They serve you immediately and are so friendly and nice. Be sure to pick up your shrimp chips here, their hours are pretty good, too. As of 6/2/26, they are open weekdays, and for Tue thru Fri open at 8 or 9 and until 5 or 6. As long as you are in the area or live in the area you can probably get there after work if you can't get there during the day. Mon is half day until 1pm. read more

First stop in Honolulu. It's located in a strip mall and the door was locked. They had a few flavors and the pricing was pretty affordable compared to some taro chips. If you want shrimp chips, go buy them directly from the source. The Ono Giant Shrimp Chips factory is in Aiea. They are at the end of the strip mall, drive to the back, it's the last shop. They have parking spaces in front of the shop. When you walk up to the entrance, it smells like shrimp chips are frying in oil. It's a delicious smell! The bags come in 2 sizes, small (4 oz) and jumbo (10 oz). All the flavors are available here, but my favorite is the furikake. These shrimp chips are giant and it's flavorful. Before you open the bag, shake it so all the spices go back on the chips. One of the flavors that caught my attention during a previous visit was the honey BBQ, but I ended up gifting it away to a mainland friend. They accept cash and credit cards for payment. The last time I was in Oahu 4 years ago we bought Ono Shrimp Chips at Costco and we're hooked. Family would bring them for us when they visited. Forgot about them until our recent visit. Didn't see them in Costco. But saw them on the beach when someone was holding a bag. Googled them and found this Yelp listing. The factory??? But it was after their opening hours and on a Friday. Darn. Closed for the weekend. One post said to call them and they may open up for you. So I did. The owners answered. And yes, they had to be at the store on the weekend to get ready for a Costco pickup so I could go by. Yay!!! 8 different flavors. 2 sizes. Large bag is $10. Small bags are 4 for $20. If you're coming to the beach with me, there are a couple staples that are in the snack bag...poke, cut pineapple, cut mango and a couple bags of Ono chips. The store front/Factory is tucked away almost under the bridge. My sister in law and I were on the hunt on the way to North Shore...the navi said to look on the right...coming from the 201 it's the left side of Moanalua Rd. You need to turn left at the light (Kauhale) and go down the little hill. We though the store was closed because the blinds were shut but it's to keep the heat out. When we came they were frying up a batch and it smelled soooo good. We were able to sample all of the new flavors such as Maui Onion, Honey Garlic and hot furikake. When you walk in you will smell the fresh scent of FRESH shrimp chips. As I entered the kind lady stopped to help me and greet my son and I. She also shared that she was in the middle of packing her giant shrimp chips into giant shrimp chip bags to fulfill a Costco order. I purchased spicy furikake shrimp chips, candy and cuttlefish. According to lady at the shop, furikake is most popular. But there is a decent variety such as plain, furikake, spicy furikake, barbecue, spicy barbecue, ranch, and White cheddar. Lately, I've been on a spicy kick and I must say the spicy furikake hit the spot. The Japanese candy and cuttlefish were just as expected. These were two for $5 or $3 for one. Also, on the menu were croissants. Yes, you heard me correct. Croissants at the Ono Shrimp Chips shop!! Unfortunately I visited around 8:00pm so they weren't available but I will be back to try them. I love Ono Shrimp chips so so so so much. If you are a shrimp chip lover, you must must must try these. These are out of this world and so delicious. I usually get the Costco size at Costco, but Costco usually sells out. I tried a few times to come to the factory, but I was unsuccessful each time so make sure you call ahead. Even if you call ahead though and they tell you they will be open, still call again on that day just in case. I've gone there and they were closed so I called and they closed unexpectedly. The owners are super duper nice though and are genuinely apologetic. This place also sells other flavors that Costco doesn't sell. I have yet to be successful in coming here when they're actually open so one day, hopefully, I will be able to come when they are open so I can try their other flavors. read more

I first had these chips in Maui from Costco. They were so good, we ended up buying 5 more bags to bring back to the states. A few months later, we coincidentally had a wedding to go to in Oahu, so we absolutely planned on driving up to Aiea and trying out these chips in person. Because of their success in Costco shipments, their store has become more of a warehouse, but the owner was still nice enough to let us go in and try out her other flavors. We bought all the other flavors: spicy furikake, barbecue, hot furikake, spicy barbecue, and white cheddar (not listed on their website). I won't say the name of it but if ur local u know! When u bite into this one it - it's light, crunchy n freshly flavorful! It's a healthy, safe diabetic food as it has 0 sugars n 0 carbs. But my husband & I gotta have this snack @ our home at all times. It's a guilty free snack that u seriously cant ONLY have 1 but GOTTA GRAB MORE! Various flavors are here but Rys Ranch gotta go.. Although the Spicy Barbecue & Furikake is mega ono-licious. The shrimp chip is soo huge you could put dips on it! In order to finish 1 chip u need to bite it 2 or 3 times. It's not oily either, but licking the bag n your fingers... It's just that good. 1 hint: Get the big bag @ Costco it's twice the size. The only downside is Costco only has Furikake.
