Great food but difficult location! I tried Da Seafood Cartel for the first time after hearing a lot of good things about it, but didn't realize where it was located. Parking was pretty limited and the restaurant size was really small. It was super popular ok a tuesday afternoon, which was a good sign, but really hard to find a table. We each ordered one thing off the menu, assuming it would be a full meals worth, but the portions were really small so you're probably meant to order multiple things. I got the taco cabo, and even though it was just 1 taco, it was piled high with steak and shrimp and the tortilla was actually a cheese crusted cheese quesadilla. Probably one of the best tacos I've had! If you check this place out, make sure to order multiple things and be willing to wait for a table.

Service was absolutely terrible!! The guy at the cashier had some major attitude and the lady we asked for a fork said we didn't need one. We definitely needed one. At the cashier I asked two questions - (1) what type of fish was it today and (2) how many tacos were in a plate. He replied mahi and two tacos I said ok can we order two plates. He said you have to be really specific with your words in a nasty tone (WTF). What exactly do you want to order? So I repeated my order of two taco plates (not sure where he had problem with me not being specific and he had a hard time understanding our simple order) and decided not to tip or stay. Then when we received our plates asked for forks and the lady said we didn't need any. So glad I already decided not to return. So many places to eat, including fish tacos without the SH!TTY ATTITUDE. Ambience is the same as last review - dirty and flies. But this time the service and food was not worth ever returning. This is a late post for our visit on July 9, 2026.

Had a taco craving and was in the area of one of the best taco spots on island! Known for their tacos, quesadillas, ceviche, and other items, I recently had their mixed taco (fried fish and fried shrimp) and it was delicious. Comes with 2 flour tortillas and is massive in size! I online ordered and was 10.95$. So good, and the seafood tastes fresh. Next I gotta try the steak and shrimp taco and their other items. It's also in an old gas station, car shop spot so it's got character. Try it out!

Front: Da OG Tostada is basically mandatory. Just get it! Hell, get 2! Back: Quesadilla De Marlin with a bottle of their house hot sauce

Da Seafood Cartel has been on my radar for a long time. Getting a to try Da OG Tostada at the Kakaako Farmers Market was what turned the trip to their Aiea spot into a NEED instead of a want. Located at the old Wally Ho's Garage & Grill (Never got to try them, I regret it to this day), there's plenty of outdoor seating under the roof of the old gas station. Go inside, order up, and take a seat with your number. Da OG Tostada is basically mandatory, so that's your first item. A crispy tostada with a layer of creamy blue crab dip as the base. Fresh seafood, veggies, and a bright citrus tang bring it all home. Just get it! Hell, get 2! We also got the fish tacos, which comes with 2. Perfect to split. And the Quesadilla De Marlin. Which also comes with 2. Kiawe smoked marlin anything is automatic

The hype is real! I've been seeing this place on my fyp on social media and I knew I had to try it! First off, don't be alarmed when you pull up to a mechanic shop on the side of the road. Although in a weird spot, I promise the food is worth it! I personally have never had this type of Mexican food before. I'm used to chimichangas, enchiladas, street tacos so I was really out of my comfort zone here. But, I'm so glad it gave it a try because it was delicious! My friends & I came here for lunch and it was pretty busy. The line to order was out the door! I already knew I wanted Da OG Tostada with the infamous blue crab dip and shrimp ceviche. It was soooo refreshing & citrusy! The ceviche and well with the crab dip. The tostada was super crunchy despite all the juices from the dip and ceviche. My friends ordered the Kiawe Smoked Marlin tacos and the Ahi Tostada. They said they were delicious as well. The marlin was smoked and deep fried. The ahi was super fresh and the portions were generous! Lastly, we got chips and salsa and chips and guacamole. The salsa was on the saucier side (not chunky) and had a little bit of a kick to it. The guacamole was so good! You could taste the onions they added in it. The chips though. Omg. They were super crispy and perfect for dipping. Overall, although this was my first time, my friends said everything they've tried has been phenomenal! I'll have to come back to try more!

Tostada de atun and OG tostada

My foodie friend Faith recommended this place to us and we're glad we tried it. We ordered the OG tostada and tostada de atun. Of the two, we surprisingly ended up liking the latter more, as it had more of an Asian flair to it, whereas the OG tostada just tasted like traditional ceviche. Each tostada came with a generous amount of fish, which made the pricing more worth it. Although the tostadas were good, we didn't care for the steak quesadilla, nor the Mexican rice. The rice tasted oddly charred and smoky, which was not at all what we were expecting. It was honestly hard to finish. We tried mentioning it to the staff, but they seemed dismissive. Also, the parking is a hot mess here! There's literally only three small lanes that can fit two to three cars per lane for tandem parking.

This place is BYOB so we stopped at 7/11 for my partner and he got his beer. I seen they had their own michelada mix at DSC so I think I'm gonna have to get a beer for myself and try that next time! We got the Coctel de camaron and the blue crab tobiko spread and they both come with chips. We've been here a few times before but this was my first time trying this combo. SO FIREEE. I'm drooling thinking about it now. They have some outdoor seating and some indoor too, no AC I think but them fans are strong! haha. We got some aguachile to go and omg it's just sooo refreshing. You can't go wrong with anything you order here though, truly. Can't wait to come back. Staff is super nice as well!

After seeing Da Seafood Cartel all over my social media feed, my family took the plunge -- and honestly? It was a mixed bag worthy of a full report. We went big with the Family Pack (Blue Crab Tobiko Spread, Shrimp Ceviche, and tostadas) and threw in some extra tacos for good measure. The steak tacos were the undisputed MVP of the night -- perfectly grilled and genuinely delicious. The fish tacos were solid, respectable citizens of the taco world and the serving was big enough to make two tacos from one serving. Now, the Blue Crab Tobiko Spread tasted really fishy, so fishy that I had to tap out. Maybe it was an off night, but I couldn't power through it. The Shrimp Ceviche was a crowd-pleaser for the rest of the family, though it wasn't my personal vibe. Here's where things get spicy -- and not in the fun way. We got hit with a $21 convenience fee for ordering online that appeared AFTER we'd already tipped. No heads-up, no warning label, nothing. For a family just trying to enjoy some seafood, that's a gut punch. Had we known, we would have ordered differently.

Finally tried this place after everyone I know recommended it to me. Located in Aiea at what seems like a gas station pit stop, is actually the best Mexican food spot on island. I highly recommend ordering the blue crab dip, shrimp ceviche (with tostada shells) and any of their tacos from the steak and shrimp taco Cabo to their fried fish tacos. The seafood is fresh and every bite, from the salsa to the tortilla, is bursting with flavor. Seating and a few parking stalls are available outside. Ordering is pretty quick and convenient. You can order in-person or order takeout online, but I would suggest going in person to check if they have any specials including churros with coconut ice cream.

Delicious Mexican seafood place! Located in an old gas station, who would have thought such amazing food would be possible? You order in the restaurant, and then you can sit at the tables and chairs outside. If you're dining there, then they will give you a number and bring the food out to you. The food came out pretty quickly, except for my tostada de atun. But it was totally worth the wait! The fish is fresh, and the flavors of the lime with the rest of the ingredients blend so well together. The chips are made fresh, and the salsa was delicious! The steak quesadilla was very good, and my twin boys devoured it. I got a taste of my husband's crispy fish taco, and again, you can tell the fish is fresh and fried to perfection. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our quick-service meal and will be back again! Happy Eating!

Da Seafood Cartel was a great stop during my Island visit. I ordered the blue crab dip, which comes with tortilla chips, and it was a solid choice. I saw on TikTok that a lot of people pair it with the shrimp ceviche, but I skipped that because it would have been way too much food for me. Everyone seemed to be ordering the tacos, and they looked so good. I'll definitely be trying them on my next visit. The ambience is casual and welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor tables available for dining. The restaurant appears to be converted from an old gas station which gives it a unique, laid-back vibe. Parking was decent as well, making it an easy spot to stop by for Mexican seafood.

Flavors hit hard. Smokiness in the tuna was seriously delicious. Salsa was spot on, service great.

This place gets slammed! Came here with a girlfriend on a Monday night and it was packed. Service is really quick though and there is a decent amount of seating. We got da OG tostada, shrimp taco and steak taco. Everything was fresh and tasty. Couldn't really taste the blue crab tobiko spread on the tostada but next time I go, I'll get the takeout pack to try it on its own. The ceviche was amazing. Prices are what you would expect for seafood and Hawaii. The reggaeton made the atmosphere fun. Parking is tight at the restaurant but we found extra parking at the Dixie Grill, up the ramp.

It was so good and always had a line waiting to get in for dinner. Quite the opposite here. We got there at 6:45pm and there was only one table besides us eating dinner. I didn't notice anyone ordering take out for pick up. Tanisha was our waitress and she took really good care of us. Yeah it also helps that we ended up being the only ones there eating. I really hope that this was just a really slow night because their food or what i ordered was really good. First Tanisha brought out chips and salsa. I like their salsa but i need a little heat to it so i added the hot sauce. I got the 3 choice combination plate. 2 shredded beef enchiladas and a steak relleno. Not too many places offer shredded beef. It's usually ground beef and i don't care much for that. The shredded beef is really tender. It's so soft and with the corn tortilla and enchilada sauce just blends so well. I like it as it's very delicious. The steak relleno is really good too. The only complaint I have is about the Spanish rice and refried beans. They were layered thin so it's really not that much. Being the cheapest items to make i would think they would give you more so you would be really full. I just wish had more of it cause it's really good and compliments the enchiladas and relleno. It's not about the rice and beans tasting good cause it does. I just wish had more of it. Then comes dessert. I love fried ice cream and they make it really good here. Perfect way to end my dining experience. I'm really happy coming here. The food i ordered was delicious and Tanisha is a great waitress. I highly recommend eating here for Mexican food. I'm sorry I didn't take pictures of the menu which i should have. The menu not only features what's available but also what's in it. A description of the entree choices. A few of them with pictures of the entree. Really good menu. Just sorry i didn't take pictures. My bad.

Chips and salsa right off the back. Mmmmm. 1) Cheese Burrito plate. Very good. 2) Taquitos plate. Crunchy, not over cooked. 3) Tamale / taco combo plate. I loved that the taco didn't crack in half when I bite into it like some other taco places. 4) Ground beef chimichanga. All plates comes with Spanish rice and refried beans. Pros: Nice portions that would fill you up. Food came hot and fresh. Con: Maybe it might have been me but, I would have like more chip and salsa. There was only one server, so service was slow or maybe it was the kitchen. Not sure. I hate these 3% charge card when paying for your food. Would I go back? Maybe. It's close to where I live and it's not as crowded as other places that are more known. Parking is easy when I went. I like that my crunchy tocos don't break apart when you eat it.

We walked in and had to ask if they were open as we weren't immediately greeted. We got to choose our seats and tried to find the coolest spot because it was hot inside! According to the server--their ac was broken. It reminded us of traveling to Mexico and eating at the restaurants there . The decor is very similar and authentic to restaurants in Mexico. They even had lots of the candies found there surrounding their register area. The server was super friendly and attentive once we were seated, I just wish she would've written down our order instead of trying to take it all by memory as she got some things wrong with our order. Now onto the food. Mexican food in Hawaii is nothing to write home about. This was no exception. Our family of 4 ordered: the California Burrito, the super burrito (I actually ordered the chimichanga but it came out as a burrito), Birria tacos, Birria quesadilla, a bean and cheese burrito (the hubby's favorite thing to order at a Mexican restaurant) and because it was taco Tuesday--the carne asada street tacos (which I think the server forgot because we had to remind her) and the flan for dessert. The burritos were of good size and nicely filled. I enjoyed the super burrito but it needed the red sauce that was put on the table. The shrimp inside was very flavorful. My daughter loved her California burrito (it has French fries in it--lol). The birria was delicious--the consommé was pretty bland though. The bean and cheese burrito was cold in the middle and not as generously sized as the other burritos. The best thing that we had was the flan. I love flan and the texture of theirs was amazing. The sauce was a mixed review with the family. I liked it and the fact that there was a lot of it. There was a slight fridge taste but it was still delicious. My husband tried to make a suggestion about moving the large truck that was in front of the restaurant blocking the breeze from coming (remember the broken AC...and this is a hot August afternoon) but upon telling our server he felt dismissed. He was told that the AC was broken and supposedly to be fixed soon, but she didn't acknowledge his suggestion to move the vehicle to let some air in--it's disappointing that when a customer that takes the time to provide genuine feedback to be left feeling dismissed instead of appreciation for the feedback. I feel bad for whomever may have dined after us as it was mighty warm in there...
