Busy! Lots of customers when I went around 3pm. Parking is on the right side of the building (looking AT the place). I got the viral convo, the ceviche with tostadas and blue crab dip. It was good! But not on an empty stomach or alone. The acidity of the ceviche made it hard to finish 2 tostadas (for me). Really good to share!! We ordered all the dips (salsa, guacamole, crab), og tostada, mixed taco, tostada de Camaron, and a horchata. Everything was super flavorful. Their salsa and guacamole taste like they add something savory to it, almost like a shoyu or something. It's interesting. Their horchata is super sweet with lots of cinnamon. But it does offset the saltiness from the food. The tostadas and tacos were good. At first we thought 1 taco or 1 tostada were not enough per person. But because of the salt, they were quite filling. I saw someone order a whole fish and make their own tacos. Next time we'll try that. However maybe we'll take home because eating along the main, super busy road is very dusty. read more

Oh my goodness. This was the surprise of my trip. My best friend saw a few social media posts about this place and we knew we had to stop by. The establishment appeared busy and doesn't have much parking, so we took our items to go. The crab and masago dip and the shrimp ceviche were top tier. I could not get enough of it. Great food but difficult location! I tried Da Seafood Cartel for the first time after hearing a lot of good things about it, but didn't realize where it was located. Parking was pretty limited and the restaurant size was really small. It was super popular ok a tuesday afternoon, which was a good sign, but really hard to find a table. We each ordered one thing off the menu, assuming it would be a full meals worth, but the portions were really small so you're probably meant to order multiple things. I got the taco cabo, and even though it was just 1 taco, it was piled high with steak and shrimp and the tortilla was actually a cheese crusted cheese quesadilla. Service was absolutely terrible!! The guy at the cashier had some major attitude and the lady we asked for a fork said we didn't need one. We definitely needed one. At the cashier I asked two questions - (1) what type of fish was it today and (2) how many tacos were in a plate. He replied mahi and two tacos I said ok can we order two plates. He said you have to be really specific with your words in a nasty tone (WTF). What exactly do you want to order? So I repeated my order of two taco plates (not sure where he had problem with me not being specific and he had a hard time understanding our simple order) and decided not to tip or stay. Then when we received our plates asked for forks and the lady said we didn't need any. So glad I already decided not to return. My foodie friend Faith recommended this place to us and we're glad we tried it. We ordered the OG tostada and tostada de atun. Of the two, we surprisingly ended up liking the latter more, as it had more of an Asian flair to it, whereas the OG tostada just tasted like traditional ceviche. My wife was telling me about this place and we couldn't wait to try their ceviche tostada with blue crab spread! We got to the place and it looked like a gas station. It's unique and feels like something out of San Diego or something. It was a cool vibe. I felt like I was back in Cali with the Mexican music in the background. There are tables outside but they get taken quick so try and grab one when you can. I ordered their chicharron de pescado, marlin quesadilla, and a tub of ceviche with blue crab spread and a pack of tostadas. This all came to about $100. The chicharron pescado was pretty decent. The mahi mahi fish bites were tender but tasted a bit like regular fish sticks from elementary. I also wasn't a big fan of their marlin quesadilla either. The marlin meat was way too smoked and blackened for my taste. It's bold and peppery and didn't pair well with the cheese or tortilla. I wish it wasn't so strong tasting. The meat was pretty dry too. My wife and I, did enjoy the ceviche tostadas though. This was tasty and fresh. The blue crab spread makes this and without it, the whole thing would just be too plain tasting. The parking situation is not ideal with only about 6 tandem stalls dedicated to the restaurant. My friends had to find parking in a lot nearby. The seating is outdoors but covered. I got the fish tacos and chips and guac. The fish tacos were super good! I loved how big the pieces of fish were. Now this is the best Mexican (and seafood) spot I've had on O'ahu. I thought I left a review for this spot but turns out I haven't. I've come here several times already and have brought several out of town guests to eat. We first heard about this from some friends who brought Blue Marlin Dip and their Ceviche to a gathering. It was absolutely delicious. Then we discovered their Fish Tacos which were phenomenal. My family, which is from Ensenada, MX, also boasted about how delicious their fish tacos were. Whenever I have a chance, I'll grab their fish tacos, dip, and ceviche - couple with a "Mexican Coke". The service is good. Nothing to boast about. I would prefer if they came to take our order instead of ordering at the front since when I bring larger parties, it becomes a challenge to get everyone's order right. However, the staff is always friendly. The ambiance is quite a challenge since it's right off Kam Hwy. We have young children and it's hard to relax since we are always double-checking they are safe. Not to mention there are no high-chairs. Parking is also tandem which can be inconvenient. Also, the bathroom could use some upkeep. It smelled like urine. However, still a solid 10/10. read more

Have been meaning to check out this spot for a minute but just hadn't been able to until today. I stopped by here at 11am on Saturday after a hike. It was "crowded" in that there is a very limited dining area and out door seating area. We managed to snag a table by asking another couple if they were using both of their tables which were put together. Fortunately they weren't. If you're outside, it's also super loud because of the traffic. Probably goes without saying but if you're on a first date or whatever perhaps not the most ideal spot. So we stood in line. Make sure to grab a menu while you're there if you don't have it pulled up on your phone. I ordered fish taco (singular)...i guess they don't do three for whatever like many other places do. That's fine. My date ordered the Tostada de Atun (tuna). And then I ordered a 16oz ceviche to go. I guess I assumed the ceviche would be fish, but i think it's shrimp. Everything was tasty, especially the ceviche. If it was regular fish ceviche, it would have been 20/10. I'm not a huge fan of shrimp and it was still a solid 9/10. The fish taco was fine, if a bit under seasoned. And I think my date enjoyed her tostada. Would totally recommend this place to anyone. read more

04/30/26 First time coming here after reading from fellow yelpers about how good their food is and in agreement that it is hard to find decent Mexican food on this island. I placed a pickup order online and the pickup time was about 15 minutes. This place is easy to find because it's right on Kamehameha Hwy just past Dixie Grill in Aiea. The problem when you get there is the limited parking spaces, it's crazy. You cannot park in the large parking lot where Dixie Grill is and other businesses, or you'll get towed. There are signs everywhere of which businesses these spaces are for. The only designated parking for Da Seafood Cartel is right in front of the restaurant - 2 spaces, parking tandem style or 3 spaces to the right of the door entrance, also tandem style parking. So in actuality, 6 spaces there. When I got there I parked in the spaces next to the door but had to pull in. I was hoping that my order would be ready and it would be a quick in and out before anyone parked behind me. Entered the restaurant and was greeted by a very friendly & personable gal behind the counter. She informed me my order will just be another minute. Before I knew it, she had it all packed up. When I got to my car, another car had already pulled up behind me, oh great! I was hoping that person was not dining there and just doing takeout so I wouldn't have to wait forever. Just under 5 minutes, a young mother with her baby walked toward this car, yes! I was free and able to leave shortly. I ordered several things to try- Steak quesadilla $14.95 - awesome! Good portion of beef melted into the cheese, grilled flour tortilla. The meat was so tender, taste was spot-on, my favorite item there, 5 star quesadilla. Mixed tacos $10.95. You just get one for this price, but it is worth it. It had fish and shrimp, both battered deep fried top with cole slaw, pico de gallo, & chipotle. The chipotle added just a little kick and blended well with the slaw and seafood. This taco was so packed that you couldn't even close it like a taco but somehow I managed. Make sure you have lots of napkins because it is one hot mess. It was so ono, another 5 star item. Da OG tostada $11.95 - I usually don't eat tostadas but this one I wanted to try. I like the fact they packed the ingredients separately for takeout orders so it doesn't get all soggy, appreciate that. After putting it all together and tasted it, it was another awesome tasting item. The blue crab spread on the bottom of the tortilla. This item comes with 2 tortillas and they give such a small container to spread on both. I wish the container was a little bigger. The fish ceviche was delicious and just packed wtih chunks of fish which blended well with the blue crab spread. Yum and this is item is a 5 star. Side guacamole with chips $7.95 Yummy, in-house tortilla chips are the best. They give a small bag but it is stuffed with chips. It had a nice thickness to it and went well with the guacamole. The guacamole had a brownish layer on top when I opened the lid that did not look appetizing but after a good stir, it blended into the rest of the guacamole. It was pretty good . This place sits right by the street next to a tire shop so hopefully you don't miss it. Parking is a bit limited and it does get noisy. The place has some chairs inside and outside but not as much as the crowd it gets. The food is definitely good but I don't know if it's as amazing as others say. The staff is super friendly tho and helpful. I did enjoy the tostada OG. It's definitely pricey but it is seafood so can't expect less. Def try this spot out. read more

Looks like it could have previously been a gas station. WAIT TIME: came at the right time, was helped out immediately. Line grew as soon as I ordered. Food came out staggered, but fast. Maybe 10 mins for everything. PARKING: few spaces to the side of restaurant n' a free lot to the right when facing OVERALL COMMENTS: the last time I had them was at the Kaka'ako Farmers Market in 2024 so we were due for a visit. The steak quesadilla is really good, has a nice char to the meat, filling is packed with steak n' cheese, easy enough to share, salsa that comes on the side is spicy; a lil' goes a long way. The mixed taco is yuMmmy n' loaded with 2 good size pieces of fried fish n' 2 large fried shrimp. The textures are crispy from the beer batter n' crunchy from the slaw. The chipotle aioli tops it off perfectly by adding in the creaminess. Da OG tostada is seafood freshness on a tortilla chip. The ceviche is very well made, has all the flavors coming through n' underneath that is the blue crab tobiko spread that adds another level of excellence. This place is absolutely LEGIT. No frills, no gimmicks - just ridiculously good Mexican seafood that punches you in the face with flavor from the first bite. The kind of spot where you know the food is going to be good before you even sit down. The ceviche was insanely fresh and loaded with flavor. The homemade chips had the perfect crunch, and the BSOD ("Black Sauce of Death") absolutely lives up to the name in the best possible way. Spicy, smoky, addictive... I'm still thinking about it. Da OG Tostada was probably my favorite bite of the meal. Blue crab spread + ceviche + avocado = game over. Every layer worked perfectly together and somehow disappeared way too fast. And the steak tacos? Straight fire. Tender arrachera, fresh pico, crunchy cabbage, and packed with flavor without trying too hard. Simple and perfect. This is the kind of place you tell your friends about immediately... while secretly hoping it doesn't get TOO popular. read more
