We wanted to check this place out as we had friends who live in Hawaii recommend it and also seen it on social media. Vendors are only here on Thursdays from 4pm - 8pm. There is a parking lot available and it's free. We arrived at about 6:30 and it was crowded, but there wasn't too long of a wait for most food booths. I was expecting food to be overpriced, but the prices seemed fair. There were a lot of food vendors that we wanted to try but couldn't get to them all. There is also a large grass area where you can bring your chairs to sit and eat. If you don't bring a chair, they provide mats you can borrow to sit on the ground at no charge. This is a great place to sample food from popular local food trucks and restaurants in one place. Definitely coming back.

Every Thursday at 4 pm, Ono grindz and makeke host a farmers market where several food vendors gather and sell their delicious food items. Each week, there's different and some of the usual food vendors that sell. Visit waikai.com to see the scheduled events for this and upcoming months. Each tent or truck has a welcoming and friendly staff member greeting and smiling as you walk by. Intrigued by the sights, sounds, and smells at the farmers' market, you'll be amazed by the lineup of awesome vendors. Parking Private lot Payment Card or cash Restroom Available on site

Produce vendors. They had dry land kalo (taro) that I just had to try out.

Today is the opening of Ono Grindz & Makeke new farmers market at Wai Kai in Ewa Beach. I am so excited that there's a farmers market that I can walk to from my house (unless I'm buying a lot of stuff that I cannot carry in a backpack and need my car)! The market is located in an area that looks like they built especially for food trucks/events just outside of the Wai Kai water park. There are a bunch of food vendors, produce vendors, people selling jewelry, clothes, and other gift items, and my new favorite florist, Pollen Flowers Hawaii. If you see a giveaway promo on Instagram for Ono Grindz, by all means, enter it. I did & won! When I went to pick up my "market bucks" from the folks who run the market, they were getting dinner, so of course I asked where they got their food: IYKYK 808 Grindz. They showed me what they ordered & I was sold! (Review coming soon). There's a huge parking lot, and tons of grassy area around, so bring a blanket and have a picnic! There is even live music. I even saw a portable restroom structure (not porta potties) nearby. I can't wait to start making this my weekly walking destination to pick up dinner and produce! I went early today, but I'm pretty sure it'll be a great place to relax and enjoy the sunset in the waterfront area. I love that this place is tucked away right in my backyard!

    May 23, 2024 incident.

Loved the variety of food and desserts. Loved the entertainment and relaxing on the lawn (mats provided). The last time we went was May 23,2024, when we witnessed a German shepherd maul a tiny pup. Even after that, they advertised a dog-friendly environment. Until that changes, we won't be back.

All kinds of fruit and vegetables were available for sale along with fresh poi, filipino pastries, and a variety of fresh herbs. Half of the large parking lot at Kapolei Community Park is closed to allow the vendors to set up. They are all on the basketball court side of the park. Prices were really cheap and the vendors were really friendly. I definitely would go again. I am super happy with a bag of five tomatoes that I picked up for only $2! If you want Thai basil, it is only 50 cents a bunch, and pastries start at only 50 cents among lots of other items. Parking is street parking. There were lots of parking available. One thing though is that this farmer's market is a really early one ending at around 730 or 8 am. Cash only and open only on Sundays. Here's a YouTube video that I made of this place: http://youtu.be/prBcnXp5VI8

Among the selections: sweet onions, broccoli, cucumbers, peppers, basil (already made pesto tonight!), oranges, apples, potatoes (all kinds, including purple sweet), beans, lemons, key limes, and apple bananas. I will DEFINITELY be back. One downside is that you have to arrive early (between 7 and 7:30 a.m.). After that, they're getting ready to tear it down, so you almost feel as if you're being rude while they're cleaning up. Be sure to bring smaller bills and even coins. Also, pack some cloth grocery bags or bring a big purse.

There's a different taste from produce that took weeks to ship here to the islands than a banana that most likely been picked that day or few days ago. Another reason I enjoy going to farmers market is that most vendors allow you to taste the products before you buy. This particular farmers market is run by Mahiku, which is associated with several other Farmers Markets all across the island. They also are in charge of the International Market Place farmers market, the Momilani Rec Center, Ben Parker Elementary and Honolulu Community College. I quickly scoped the area for cookies, brownies, ice cream, cheesecake, mochi, Filipino desserts, and candies. I was out of luck with a suguar supplier in sight that offered what I was inkling for. There were vendors selling an assortment of different local items. From vegetables, fruits, jewelry, pipikaula beef jerky, that lobster tail deal 10 for $20, thai food, Filipino food, Hawaiian food, portirican food, and so forth. There was an area to sit but it wasn't covered, so we decided to eat breakfast at Shiro's. I picked up a few snacks from a few vendors. My husband inhaled a lumpia with kalua pig and sweet potato. I purchased a baked manapua, Spanish roll (it was okay), malasada, and Thai iced tea. Decent sized Farmers Market to check out. It's only there 2nd week, so I'm sure they'll be more vendors to come.

My sons really like the Spanish roll but I still think the Spanish rolls from Nandings is the best of the best. NORTH SHORE BAKE GOODS: My family tried an assortment of cookies. They are Costco size about $2 each. My older son gave his approving 2 thumbs up for the cookies here. We also purchase fresh produce from this farmers market but I'm unsure of the names of the vendors. This Market needs a covered area to sit. Giving 5 stars for Katy, who works at the Pearlridge Farmers Market location in Saturdays. She is a ray of sunshine, with her great smile and loves to share samples of their product. Be careful, though because when you taste the delicious products you'll have to get something! Their passion fruit habanero is amazing with cream cheese and crackers or as a glaze for meats. If you combine it with cream cheese it softens the heat. They do have one with ghost peppers or Caroline Reaper peppers but beware - I bought it for my friend who loves heat and she said it's really hot! They have amazing butters - try any of their chocolate butters and you'll think you are in heaven! Note-these are seasonal so there may be different ones available when you visit. Award winning Coconut black chocolate is absolutely amazing, rich, and decadent and the best way to eat this is to get a big spoonful then just sit there and savor the flavor. The Kona coffee dark chocolate is also amazing. Hard to decide which is better! Got a jar if passion fruit Hawaiian pepper (chili pepper) smoked pineapple Kentucky whiskey to use as a glaze for meat. Can't wait to use it. These also make great gifts to send to or give to suiting folks from the mainland to give them a taste of Hawaii. I like the POG jam for islanders who have relocated to the mainland because it's like a taste of home. Kona coffee butter and mango are also divine. I have the mango for me...! I also got a jar of the mango honey and it's marvelous, too! These are high quality and a bit pricey, but after going to the craft fair at the Blaisdell, the prices are not too much more if not comparable. ...AND they are available weekly! If you go and sample a flavor you like, be sure to ask if it's seasonal (such as mango) or not. If it's seasonal - get it. It may not be available again until the next season. Me

Very easy to find, off the freeway heading north on Kunia Rd and it will be on the next stoplight past Walmart, making a left on Anonui Street. You can't miss it because there's a huge sign and banners on the corner it is located on. There is plenty of parking attended by a couple of friendly parking attendants directing your way. There is a covered area with several picnic tables near the entrance as well as 2 porta potties. The market itself is not very big and housed in one small but long building. There are a few vendors on the porch area selling flavored water, baked goods, honey, and other goodies. Upon entering the building, the majority of produce will be to your right. To the far left is the checkout area. They accept bankcard and cash. Most of the items are packaged with signs and prices by each type of produce. The display of produce is neatly laid out and well-stocked. They even provide rolling shopping baskets for your convenience. Today they were having a 4th of July special on their sweet corn - buy 4 bags, get 1 free. The table was packed full when I arrived & in less than a half hour, it was empty. I was fortunate to grab a bag. Prices were reasonable and comparable to other farmer's markets. They were also selling Waialua cage-free jumbo eggs, 1 dzn for $6 and also Kauai shrimp in 2 sizes. Cashiers were very friendly and personable. Even though there was a line, both cashiers worked fast and efficiently. Overall, it was a great experience and I plan on repeat visits to check out seasonable items. Good location, affordable prices, fresh produce, friendly staff - go check it out and support local!
