As a big fan of goat milk moisturizers and soap we decided to check out this place. We were pleasantly surprised to see many families out and enjoying the farm as well. They have a little gift shop which sells their merch and delicious goat cheese and goat gelato. The cheeses are sold individually or in a four-flavor flight; along with crackers it made a delicious snack. We tried the four-flavor flight with crackers and boy were they good. Their big hit are their goat gelatos. They have quite a few flavors which were all very good. We got the chocolate and coffee flavors. It was very creamy with a slight twang. Very good!! After eating we bought some goat food and visited the goats. They also offer a tour which takes people behind the scenes to other areas of the farm. The drive out is not too bad. It's just past Kemo'o farms. Lots of signage leading to the farm. Big open lot to park. A great family friendly place to take the keikis and eat goatlato. read more

I had a chance to visit this spot on my last day on this visit, and was not disappointed. Sweet Land is a great spot especially for those with little ones or people looking to see what it takes to go from goat to a quality local product. There's free parking located on the property with a short walk to the Farm Shop, which should be a good starting point for any visit. I took advantage of the tour offered on Fridays (I believe Saturdays as well). Locals and military also get a small discount. With that being said, it appears to be geared more toward those with children. During my time here, there was actually a school field trip going through at roughly the same time. Expect the tour to take approximately an hour to consist of feeding and handmilking goats while also getting to see the different facilities. As some others state, there is a typical farm smell, but it's not overpowering. Heidi served as my guide and was happy to answer any questions I had regarding the process and small farm operations. Can't say enough good things about her. I ended the tour with a stop at the Farm Shop and purchased a goat cheese flight with crackers with plantation tea for lunch along with a couple things to take home to include caramel and soap. The flight consisting of a couple varieties was actually so rich and fulfilling that I actually stretched the meal to dinner too! My personal favorite was the olive flavor. The caramel, now that I'm home, is a welcome addition to my morning coffee. I'd love to visit again in the future to see what other future concoctions they come up with! read more

I went on a tour of this goat farm. Wow I did not know goats were picky eaters. They eat a lot of grass. I know people have them as pets. I volunteered to milk one and the part of the goat we had to grab was very warm and one squeeze was all I did. Not sure how it compares to a cow. Everyone was excited and took lots of pictures while feeding the goats. The owner was a member of the Peterson egg farm but went into farming goats and producing products and other yummy goods since she went to culinary school too. Such a fun experience especially if you have little ones! We decided to check out Sweet Land Farms during our drive to the North Shore and we loved how welcoming the staff was, how cute and quaint the grounds are, and how enjoyable it was to feed the goats. Entrance to the farm is free and you only have to pay for a bag of feed if you'd like to feed the goats. They have 4 areas where you can visit - mama goats, baby goats, teenage goats and adult goats. Goat feeding is recommended to be done in the areas where the teen and adult goats are located. We spent about 20 minutes feeding the goats and then headed into the store where we were able to order some goat ice cream. The ice cream had an icy texture and was refreshing for the warm day. As a note, parking is on the grassy area so it can get a bit muddy. read more

There's a covered pavilion and ample parking. How Sweet Land Farm got its name.. The land was originally pineapple fields and that's how Sweet Land Farm got its name. Sweet Land Farm produces four types of goat cheese: Chèvre, Gouda, Tomme & Feta. Which supplies local restaurants, stores and hotels with its goat cheeses & caramel. Visited for the first time as part of a company meeting/tour. It's on Kaukonahua Road - "The Winding Road." This is the only off-roading that I wull do...potholes aplenty on the winding, dirt road leading to Sweet Land Farm - a goat farm. Situated on acres of what was once pineapple farmland. Sweet Land Farm is absolutely worth visiting, especially if you have young kids. The setting is beautiful. Some of our favorite family photos from this entire trip came from this farm. Watching our kids feed the goats was one of those simple moments they'll probably remember for a long time. It's also about as clean as you could reasonably expect for a working goat farm. Yes, it smells like goats, that comes with the territory. If you're expecting a sterile petting zoo, this isn't it. It's a real farm and I actually appreciated that. Where the experience lost me was the hospitality. Maybe we arrived too close to closing, but the staff felt completely disengaged. Nobody was particularly welcoming, nobody seemed excited to talk about the farm or its products and asking simple questions felt like an inconvenience. You drive all the way out here because you're interested in what they're building. A little warmth would go a long way. The other issue was the flies. Again, I understand this is a farm. Flies are part of the environment. But when they're landing around food while ice cream is being scooped, it starts to cross from "that's farm life" into something that feels unpleasant. It was hard not to notice and it definitely took away from the experience. The goat milk ice cream was good, not quite my preference over traditional dairy ice cream, but still worth trying if you're visiting. Feeding the goats was fun, the grounds are beautiful and it's a fantastic stop for families with toddlers. I just wish the customer experience matched the scenery. This place has everything it needs to be unforgettable. A little more hospitality and a little more attention around the food service area would make a huge difference. I'd still recommend visiting but come for the farm, the photos and the goats. Just keep your expectations for the service a little lower. read more

Totally Awesome!! This place deserves 6 stars plus or even 10 stars if you could rate that high! First off the employees there are super nice, very helpful and extremely friendly and hospitable! Talk about Ohana! They make you feel wanted and at home when shopping and touring the grounds! Super nice people. The goats are wonderful! I got a bag of hay and gave it to a family that had three little ones. They proceeded to feed the baby goats. Other families saw them feeding and started coming up. The family that I gave the bag of hay to started sharing with all the other families. The smiles on the little children's faces as they fed the kids was and is priceless! This is what America and Ohana is all about! People coming together to share laughs and well wishes! The ambiance is super warm and welcoming! I wish we lived closer, my wife and I could come once a week to sit down have some cool drinks and fresh goat cheese to snack on and wait for some young family to walk by so we could give them a bag of hay. what a cute find in waialua! Ive had this bookmarked for awhile but it was either closed on the day i'm up north or i forget about it when im actually heading down there. they are located in the same lot as waialua eggs. you have to drive past them and up a random road with no signage. it splits into two lanes, but don't go into the lane with a guard shack because that is not where you go! just keep left on the dusty road and you'll eventually make it there when you see a few low buildings in the distance. The farm is the cutest - if you're visiting you could pay a visit to their gift shop that sells snacks, ice cream, and some merchandise. you can also purchase goat feed here for $6 which is a pretty big bag and sharable. there is some tables nearby if you choose to purchase something to eat. The baby goats are in the front part next to the store, and the adult goats are in the back area. and yes - they allow dogs! i asked prior to coming! they just want them to not get too too close to the goats. In the end your car will be pretty dirty from driving up here. we even drove slow and ended up with a brown car. read more

We've been to Sweet Land Farm a number of times, and it's always great experience. I guess it is privately owned. It is very calm, friendly, and a great way to spend time with a toddler. Plan about 1-1.5 hours for the visit if you want to enjoy it slowly and let kids explore and run around. Entrance is free and you can buy a big bag of hay for $6 to feed the goats. There are all kinds of goats: baby goats (our favorites), larger goats, daddy goats (with beard). The baby goats are especially fun and safe for little ones (no biting or rough behavior). If you're visiting with a very young toddler (like under 1), you might not need to buy hay as there's usually some scattered around the fences that they can pick up and offer. But I still like to buy the hay as a way to support the farm and what they're doing. There's a hand-washing station with soap. The only downside is that there are no steps for little ones to reach the water by themselves. They also have a small shop on-site where they sell the hay, as well as goat milk products like cheese and ice cream. The ice cream is a great way to wrap up the visit. I love that they let me try a flavor before committing. Also they offer a cheese and cracker board. It might appear small, but it's actually a solid and delicious snack. Inside the store, there's a cute little cheese-making observation window with steps so kids can climb up and watch the process. It kept my son entertained while i was ordering. Yay! They have picnic tables under the roof but no high chairs, which I always see as a downside in kid-friendly places. I get that it's a farm, but it would still be nice. We have been out here to Sweet Land Farm a few times between last year and this year, and we always have so much fun. We even hosted a birthday party here, and all of our guests had such a great time. Everyone here is so nice. It is free to enter, but you can purchase goat feed to feed the goats for $6. We have yet to do their tours but would love to one day. They have a cute farm store that sells ice cream made from goat milk and goat cheese. My toddler loves their ice cream. Lots of fun for the family and people of all ages. We decided to go on Thursday because entrance is free. We also packed our own water and lunch to eat for the day so our kids could spend as much as they wanted with the goats. We saw teenagers there taking pictures and feeding goats. While our small children could have spent the entire day with the smaller goats, we encouraged them to walk around and get the full experience. They sell goat feed inside the store by the bag for $6. I was told that they usually have a stand outside for the goat feed on the weekends. People also dropped a lot of the feed on the ground near the goats so our kids just used that to feed the goats rather than buying anything. Despite bringing our own food though, especially since it was a hot day, we stopped in the store for gelato. Variety of flavors but salted caramel and kahuku corn was our favorite. We also tried the lilikoi haupia chia and I got an affogato, of course! They were only allowing 10 people at a time in the store so the line was pretty long. Please pay attention to the signs! Booked a private group tour for 20 and it was a fantastic experience! We learned about the farm and how it started, met lots of goats (so many pregnant ladies), some of the boys, and lots of babies. We got to feed the goats and try our hand at milking. Our tour guides were excellent and knew so much about all aspects of the farm, which makes sense, since everyone has to pitch in when it's a relatively small farm. After the tour, we had the opportunity to taste three of their cheeses. They also opened the farm store for us, so we could buy cheese, goat-milk soaps and lotions, keiki stuff like t-shirts, books, and toys, even kitchen products like charcuterie boards and towels. They also had lemonade made with their leftover whey, as well as gelato. It was all delicious. I honestly don't love goat cheese - I don't like the barnyard funk it often has. But they take care here to keep the boys and their pheromones away from the dairy operations and that is reflected in the cheese flavor. I enjoyed the feta, chevre, and gouda I tasted, so much so, I bought all three (plus the goat-milk caramel) to take home. What a revelation. The dirt road back to the farm (turn at the Waialua egg stand) is a little rutted and bouncy, so take it slow. Plenty of room to park.
