I give this Ono Hawaiian BBQ a good four stars. Food was good, great location, the people working provided excellent customer service, my plate was very well portioned and they offer food affordable prices.

What a disappointment. I frequently order from this location. Found hair in my food today. You guys lost a loyal customer.

I am a fan of this chain restaurant called Ono Hawaiian Bbq. It is not often that we find ourselves in this side of town. Happened a couple of weeks ago that we were, and Wifey chose Ono Hawaiian Bbq for us to dine. We parked in the back, and made our way into the restaurant. Fortunately, we beat the dinner rush. Waited about 15 minutes for our Mini Meals. She ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast (I believe). I ordered the Chicken Katsu. We shared the Spam Musubi. Everything was tasty. Prices were fair. Service was good. Restaurant was clean. No complaints from me. Ono Hawaiian Bbq is a terrific dining option in Northeast Bakersfield.

Got this combo at the *CALLOWAY location*, but this location said they can't make this for me?????????

Make sure you check your order here. The girl completely screwed up our orders and gave us different combo items. I went up to ask them to correct it, and she says they don't make that combo. SO WHY DID SHE TAKE MY ORDER AND REPEAT IT IF THEY DON'T MAKE IT?????????? Makes no sense at all. So even though she repeats back my order, she gives us a completely DIFFERENT order than what was printed on the order receipt. When I asked her to correct it, she says they cant. They also are SO SLOW and take forever here. So annoyed, hungry and frustrated that we canceled our order and got a refund. Complete waste of our time coming here! Avoid this location. They're super slow and clueless. The CALLOWAY location is way better!!!

    How busy it was

Very disappointing experience. I called when I was 15-20 mins away to put an order for pick up . Chris, the employee working by the front & the phones placed on my hold . The picture shows how the restaurant was when I walked in, not busy , not good for business

Katsu chicken( I added furikake at my house)

This was my first time trying ono. I love Hawaiian food so I'm not sure why I kept putting this place off until now. I got the chicken Katsu. The portions are really big. It came with 2 scoops of white rice, Mac salad, and the crispy chicken on a bed a soft cabbage. Over all satisfied the craving. When I got home I added furikake to my rice because that's the only way I eat white rice. The rice honestly really balances out how rich the Mac salad is. I liked the Mac salad but it was very rich with a dominant onion flavor. Almost too onion-y. None the less, still a good Mac salad. The chicken is really plain on its own but I dipped it in their Katsu sauce and that sauce is so bomb. So definitely try their sauces! They also had a teriyaki sauce too available. They have a little condiment bar with soy sauce, hot sauce, and hot mustard as well. I want to come back to try the spam masubi and other items. A great addition to east Bakersfield I would say! Love seeing east Bakersfield get some good food options.

I have been here quite a few times now and I'm really happy that Bakersfield finally has a Hawaiian BBQ spot. The cuisine here is similar to Filipino cuisine so it's obvious that I would be drawn to a Hawaiian BBQ spot. The food here is affordable and delicious. Every time I have visited this place, there's always a line; however, the line always moves pretty quickly. They have tons of hard working people here and food always cooks quickly because they have quite a bit of people cooking in the back. I even went during their grand opening and we waited less than 15min. You can definitely see the team work and I love that. Staff is always professional and helpful. I'm a big fan of their kalbi beef. I like all their other meats. They are seasoned well and all have good flavor, but my favorite has to be the kalbi beef. They give huge portions of food here, so depending how hungry I am, it usually lasts me about 2 to 3 days to eat.

    Spam Musubi (2 pcs)

We ordered 2 spam Musubis and 1 bbq beef Musubi and a drink. The spam musubis were okay. The spam was on the thinner side and was barely cooked and lacked a teriyaki glaze. The bbq beef musubi was better. The bbq beef had good flavor, was cooked well, didn't have any fat or bad pieces and was not chewy. We are excited to try another bbq beef dish. We tried the Fanta, Sprite and Barqs root beer and all tasted flat and like it was made with bad tap water. $6 for these spam Musubis is definitely overpriced. The teriyaki sauce is really good.

Here's a polished Yelp review that's over 100 words:…read more Maui Pho is one of my favorite places to grab a quick meal because the food is always fresh and full of flavor. One of my go-to orders is the lemon pepper chicken tenders. They're always crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of lemon pepper. Every time I visit, the quality is consistent, and the portions are generous. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always provides great customer service. The restaurant is clean, and the atmosphere is relaxed, making it a great place to enjoy lunch or dinner. If you're looking for delicious food, friendly service, and a place you can count on for a great meal, I highly recommend Maui Pho. I'll definitely keep coming back.

After several attempts, I was finally able to leave a voicemail. It honestly felt like they just sent whatever they had left instead of what I actually ordered. I ordered two family dinners, which each include chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken, and beef with broccoli. However, we only received one order of orange chicken instead of two. We also ordered an additional order of chow mein and an order of teriyaki chicken, of which was not included. For such a large order, I expected much better accuracy and customer service. It's especially frustrating that I couldn't get anyone to help resolve the issue before they closed.

Little hidden gems. Lighting is dark with bits color and neon popping through. The Bar Top curves around the bar- there are two booths that seat 5-6 and two short tables next to them- one seats 4- the other will comfortably seat two. There are a few bench style seating areas at the front with some short coffee tables. Think- skater tiki bar. The drinks were good- small menu if you're not sure what you want or are new to tiki. Both sides of the menu are the same menu. There are some nice mocktail options as well- you don't see that often. The service for me is mixed- it wasn't busy- steady but not busy- 1/4 full. I ordered two drinks to start for our table- (no cocktail servers here/not unusual for a small Tiki bar) I asked for a soda water- the bartender looked at me without a word- popped open a can of soda water and walked away. When he walked back by, I asked for a glass of ice- he said nothing and I got an eye-roll huff. I almost left. I don't think providing a glass with ice to pour your canned room temp soda water in, is too wacky an idea to be perturbed by the request. The female who took the order was friendly, smiled and was professional. We got a third cocktail- the Mai Tai. The grumpy bartender was friendlier this time. So, that helped. Maybe he felt overwhelmed and I threw off his groove by asking for water- then a glass... either way- being annoyed wasn't cool. The music.... Wasn't Tiki- it threw off the "Tiki Vibe" and made it feel typical small local bar that serves only Tiki drinks with some Tiki decor. It didn't take you to the land of Tiki- disappointed. Drinks were good.
