    Chicken & Beef Mix
    Esther S.

We stopped in for lunch, and even during the lunch rush, the staff was friendly and the service was fast. The place was clean as were the tables. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the veggies were surprisingly good. I ordered the chicken and beef combo. The chicken was really good...tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The beef, however, was a bit too chewy for my taste, so I probably wouldn't order that again. I also took a chicken katsu meal to go for my kiddo, and they absolutely loved it! Overall, it was a great experience with quick service and tasty food. I'd definitely come back and just stick with the chicken next time.

I tried this place for the first time and very happy I did. The food was delicious, excellent quality and the portions are huge. I ordered the chicken and beef combo. You can customize the sides, I chose no mac salad, one scoop rice and extra veggies. You can also get sauces on the side. The service was great, and very clean inside. We placed out order online and it was ready upon arrival. I highly recommend giving this place a try.

I'm so happy that we have a location in Esco now! Previously the closest location was in Lake Elsinore, so we didn't get to eat it very often. I always get orders to go, so ordering on the app makes it easier. It also cuts down your wait time if you're not eating there anyway. My Mom's favorite is the fried fish and shrimp, so I usually get the Seafood Mix Plate. It's fried fish, fried shrimp, and bbq chicken. It's enough food for us to share, and maybe have a little left. We also swap out one of the rice for another macaroni salad. Be aware that their mac salad isn't vegetarian because it contains tuna. It also comes with steamed vegetables, usually broccoli and cabbage. I like that they have self-service katsu and teriyaki sauces that you can fill containers to use with your meal. All in all, a pretty easy pickup food experience.

This place is great. The food is fresh, the portions are huge, everything tasted delicious. We ordered the chicken katsu and and chicken and beef combo. It was very flavorful and tender, the chicken katsu was crispy. Their Mac salad was awesome, I requested a second scoop of it. The inside was very clean, the service was quick and friendly. I am looking forward to coming back and trying their other items on the menu.

Tried Ono Hawaiian BBQ and had a great experience overall. The drive-thru is super convenient, and there's plenty of parking and seating if you want to dine in. I used the drive-thru, great location right off the freew. I really liked how customizable the meals are, there are tons of sides and options to mix and match, which makes it easy to find something for everyone. All of the food was flavorful and made fresh. We ended up trying a lot of items to share. The Hawaiian BBQ Mix Plate was a great sampler with big portions, and the Chicken Katsu was crispy and best when paired with sauce. The Kalua Pork was smoky, and you can't go wrong with Spam Musubi, it's a must. The Loco Moco was rich and hearty, and the Teriyaki Chicken was cooked just right with great flavor. We also loved the BBQ Short Ribs and Garlic Shrimp, both full of flavor. The Macaroni Salad was creamy and perfect with all of the proteins. Definitely a great spot when you're craving Hawaiian-style comfort food! We are going to return soon and try some different items.

I had seen this place during a trip to Arizona a few months ago, but I never got the chance to try it, so I was excited when one opened close to home. I stopped in for a quick bite and ordered something I usually get at other Hawaiian restaurants: the Spam musubi. Overall, it was okay, but not the best I've had. Thankfully, they have a self-serve sauce station with two different options because the Spam musubi itself didn't come with any sauce and was on the drier side. I also noticed that the Spam seemed a bit undercooked, which affected the overall flavor and texture. That said, the location itself is very spacious with plenty of seating, making it a comfortable place to dine in. The decor was really cool, the restaurant was very clean and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I'm glad I finally got to try it.

So glad we stopped here after spotting it while driving! This location opened recently, and it's a great fast food meets Hawaiian hospitality vibe. The interior is very clean and spacious. Even for a busy Saturday evening, the lines moved quickly. They have two registers and two self-order kiosks, which is super convenient. Since they cook to order, we were told the fish takes a bit longer, but our food was ready for dine-in within 15 mins not bad at all! They serve everything in to-go containers even if you eat there, which is a smart move since the value is incredible and the portions are massive. One plate can easily feed two people, but I opted for the $8 Fish Aloha Plate Special that's runs until April. I got the grilled fish and it did not disappoint! So delicious and tender over a bed of rice and spring mix. For the price and the amount of food you get, it is totally worth it. I also ordered a mini beef plate to go. While the beef was tasty, I wasn't a huge fan of the macaroni salad or the steamed veggies which was mostly cabbage. As for dessert, I got the guava pie and it tasted like a giant pop tart! I'll definitely stick to the Aloha Plate next time.

Mini Meal Chicken Katsu with a scoop of rice, a scoop of macaroni salad and steamed veggies

My husband and I tried this place yesterday for dinner. Place is very spacious. They did a great job converting the old Carl's Jr to this place. My husband ordered a mini meal with Hawaiian BBQ Chicken. He didn't want the rice, macaroni salad and steamed veggies and opted to pay extra for the Spring salad mix. I ordered a mini meal with Chicken Katsu with the rice, macaroni salad and steamed veggies. His chicken was on the chewy side. Salad was fine, just need more dressing. As for mine, I do like that I can get the Katsu sauce for myself. I finished my mini meal. The katsu breading was on the bland side but I do like that it adhered to the chicken way better than the other places I've been that serves chicken katsu. The other reason for the 3 stars was because one of their order kiosks was not working properly. Instead of them closing the kiosks, they left it open so anytime others used it, it was doing the same problem especially if they were aware of the problem since the other day. Will go back and check the rest of the food. Maybe I'll bring my daughter next time.

This place is really good. Theres plenty of parking and they have staff that can take your order or you can use a kisok. Staff is really kind. I was carrying my sauces and didnt put it in my to go bag, im not sure why i didnt, but he got out of the counter and offered me a sauce bag. Slivertre or Sly, I cant remember his name, but he was kind and i appreciated it. He was patient with me when I was ordering since It was my first time there and i didnt know what to order. I got the hawaiian beef plate and chicken katsu. You can order your plate with all rice or all mac salad or all veggies. I believe it does come with one each. Cant wait to go back !

The establishment was clean and efficiently serving their customers. I just felt the food was much too salty and the options weren't as authentic or diverse as I would have liked. I think I would have rather gone to L and L to be honest. The pricing though was a good aspect. It's more of a fast food joint than authentic hawaiian food.

First time trying this place out, and i have to say it is delicious!!! I was so happy that they have a drive thru and the employee was so friendly when I had a couple of questions about the menu:) I ordered the BBQ mix plate which has the short rib, bbq beef and bbq chicken with veggies, mac salad and rice and the portions are huge too! definitely worth its price!!!

My family was so excited this business was coming to Escondido. Food was so good. Service top tier, especially when I went opening day. The ambiance was crazy but great! Cannot wait to make it a monthly trip for family dinners.

    BBQ beef & Katsu

I went to buy dinner last night for my husband to celebrate Father's day at his work. I ordered 2 separate items of a Pick2. The portions of Katsu was okay , but the Beef was over cooked- dark color almost burnt, meat has lots of fats too. We were So disappointed, this is our last time buying from here. L&L gives good portions of food & beef was never burnt or gutty!!!

I would give this location 5 stars alone for their unagi. I had a piece on the side and it was just like butter. Worth the extra $1.50. I personally made a garlic shoyu marinade and it was perfect on my salmon. They had a great variety of options for toppings too! My husband enjoyed his mixture too, and specifically we both enjoyed his spicy salmon. The only downside was the white rice was a little over cooked but it didn't really matter with everything on top of it. We did end our meal with splitting their macaron with green tea ice cream. You could tell the macaron wasn't fresh, which shouldn't be expected from a frozen macaron anyway, however, the green tea ice cream was pretty good. Hit the spot for a sweet treat! Would definitely come back when we are around town.

It was Sunday night and we were driving back to Escondido from Anaheim. GPS says they close at 9:30 PM. We roll in at exactly 9:05 PM. Place still had customers inside, open tables, and two hostesses literally started walking us to a table. The male host said, "Last call is in 10 minutes." Cool. I jokingly ask, "For alcohol?" because I wanted TWO damn sushi rolls, not a 12-course feast. He says with a smile, "No. Last call for food and everything else." Okay... easy day. We already knew exactly what we wanted. Simple order. In and out. No biggy. Then came the look. You know the look. The "damn it, I want to go home, why did customers show up during business hours?" look from management and the sushi chefs. Next thing you know, manager says we cannot be served. Wait... what happened to "last call in 10 minutes?" Suddenly now it is, "You missed last call at 9:00 PM." It was 9:06 PM. So your establishment closes at 9:30 PM... but actually closes at 9:00 PM... but also has a last call in 10 minutes... but also refuses service? Got it. Crystal clear. Listen, if y'all want to leave at 9:00, then change the damn hours to 9:00. Do not advertise 9:30 and have people driving 70 miles just to get hit with attitude and false hope. So we walked out and went somewhere else. Being turned away wasn't the problem. The problem was being treated like customers showing up during YOUR posted business hours was somehow our fault. Change your damn hours to 9:00 pm then. Do better!
