I thought it would be nice to bring a tray to my MIL's house when we went to visit for her bday. Unfortunately, they were closed on the day we were visiting, but I always kept them in the back of my mind. She tagged me on one of their IG posts (@puertoplataseafood/@puertoplataontheg) and I found out that they have a truck that visits manh, by way of Inwood/Washington Heights. My first time trying the or delectables was when my son and I feasted upon one of their HUGE seafood trays. We opted for the Oceanus, which includes 2 pieces of salmon, 1.5 lb king crab legs, 2 snow crab clusters, 2 lobster tails, 2 lbs of shrimp, mixed veg, potatoes and corn. That platter is enough to feed 5 people and my son and ate it in two meals (we are definitely bout it). The food truck visits Dyckman Wednesdays thru Sunday, until 1p or until they sell out. The times may vary due to inclement weather, so it's good to follow them in IG so you know their schedule. For instance, last Friday when I picked up my mini seafood feast, it was getting close to 1p and I was concerned I would miss the truck. I DM'd them on their IG and they got back to me immediately, letting me know that they would actually be arriving to Dyckman by 1230p. I'm assuming it's due to the fact that we had some downpours the night before and morning of. Food Rundown: Mussels ($8) - seasoned sooo well. They cram as many as they can fit in a decent sized aluminum tray. Definitely worth it. Mini Olympus ($49) - king crab, shrimp, potatoes and corn. The price has gone up and I likely would have picked a different item had I known (I was looking at one of their older menus). Mini Atlantis ($29) - salmon, lobster tail, shrimp and mixed veg La Doña del Sazon's Famous Hot Sauce - just get this! The Famous Butter Sauce - again....JUST GET THIS! They take care with everything, from the flavours to the packaging. They wrap up everything tight to prevent spilling. The food on the truck is prepared ahead of time and already packed up for pick up. I believe they only offer the minis platters on the truck but if you want to purchase a larger tray you can message them and request those for pickup. The seafood they offer is better than any crab that's been boiled in a plastic bag. The veggies are not soft and soggy, and everything tastes super fresh. Next trip to LI, I'll definitely be stopping by their new location "on the mile" in Freeport, on our way to my MIL's house. She would de a platter, for sure.

This place is cash only and you should be tipping. The food is always ready in 5-10 minutes and piping hot. Make sure you try their iced tea! I wish I knew the recipe, I crave it all the time. Now that it's a hot summer day, I stop in twice a week to get a large one.
