After taking some time to reflect on my experience at this restaurant, I have to give it one star, mainly because of the poor service and the attitude I experienced. The ambiance was nice; the space is decorated with paintings of monks and elephants, and smooth café jazz played in the background, which I really enjoyed. However, the service was disappointing. When I ordered my tea, the waitress didn't check on me or offer any honey or sugar; I had to get it myself. She also didn't offer me water, but when a white woman came in and ordered just tea, the waitress took the time to explain the options, checked on her, and gave her water without her even asking. When I explained that the drunken noodles didn't taste good, she asked if I had ever had them before. I told her it's one of my favorite dishes. She took the food away but just brought me the check with no resolution. I even asked her to take off $2 since I didn't eat it, but instead, she asked if I wanted to take it home. If I didn't like it in the restaurant, why would I like it at home? Honestly, I feel like the difference in service was because I was Black and dining alone. The ambiance was nice, but this experience left a bad impression, and I won't be returning.

I came here for lunch and it was ok. I am not sure how many Thai restaurants are in Washington Heights so I was happy my friend recommended this place. So we came here on a Friday for lunch. First it was cold in the restaurant which they did have warm fans on to make it warmer. Then we ordered the lunch special and that was ok. We also ordered wings which were ok. I ordered the pork dumplings with a beer and pad see ewe with shrimp and medium spicy. So the pad see ewe had too much soy sauce it tasted a bit bitter but the pork dumplings were fine. Overall the meal was ok nothing wrong but I also don't think anything stood out. The person who helped us was nice. The space was nice; but being that it was cold it was a bit uncomfortable. I am not sure I would come back.

Lychee Iced Tea. Good. Not too sweet

A friend found this odd restaurant. You'd usually expect a restaurant named Unique Fusion in the middle of nowhere to not be that good but the ratings were super high so we decided to make the schlep there. They have some fun options (Thai empanada anyone) and the service was friendly. It's a casual spot and overall the food was excellent though the appetizers were better than the entrees. I had a lychee iced tea which wasn't overly sweetened and it was pretty tasty. We first got the Mango Salad with sliced mango, red onions, tomato, Thai chili, roasted cashew, cilantro, garlic, fresh lime juice, and fish sauce. Excellent version with a good amount of heat especially towards the bottom. I'd like it maybe slightly hotter with more spots but then again it's not an Isan spot so it's this style and it's definitely a good version. We also got as an appetizer two of the dishes from the empanada section. My preference of the two was the Flank Steak Empanda consisting of grilled marinated flank steak with onions, garlic, and basil and with a Thai-style pickled salad and aioli. The mead inside was tender and very well flavored and as noted by others there was a unique spice. I presume there was star anise judging by the slight licorice flavor but there was definitely curry powder and some other stuff in there. Very tasty. The Half Moon Turnover consisted of curried chicken, onion, potato, and oyster sauce wrapped in an oversized paratha and just like the other one it was served with a Thai-style pickled salad. This was essentially a giant version of a curry puff with a thicker crust and a lot more filling of course as it was so big. Also very tasty though less unique. We got a bunch of dishes from the entree sections. Most of the main dishes are served with jasmine rice with some exceptions and I would say that they all had some faults. The Slow Cooked Pork Shoulder with onions, garlic, and pineapple was likely my favorite. The pork was super tender with a rich flavor and the pineapple added some good tartness. There was also a bit of sweetness in the dish with my only potential complaint being that I found it a bit wet/ I wouldn't have minded the au jus being thicker but that's really only minor. My other favorite was the Salmon Green Curry consisting of a reasonably sized piece of grilled salmon served in green curry with bell pepper (which we substituted for string beans,) eggplant, and basil. Usually I have a bit of trepidation with Thai curries served with bell peppers as this isn't traditional and usually a sign of an American Thai spot but the curry here was very solid. Well flavored with some spice and not too sweet. The Pad See Ew with chicken Thai rice noodles, egg, and Chinese (or regular) broccoli in a sweet soy sauce was pretty good. Solid noodle texture and pretty tender chicken. This was the third best of the mains and it was fine. OK was the Thai Beef Stew with celery, carrots, onions, mushroom and Thai basil. Just like the pork shoulder, the beef was very tender what's a good texture but there was way too much of some spice in it almost overpoweringly so. I'm pretty positive it was cloves but I'm not sure. Otherwise tasty especially if they were to reduce the amount of whatever that spice was (or I don't know let's say that as a Thai Clove Beef Stew.) The Crispy Chicken Over Rice consisting of breaded chicken tenders with sweet chili sauce served with sliced cucumber and ginger rice most likely the weakest of the dishes. The chicken was a little bit bland and the breading was too heavy. The sweet chili sauce helped but not too much. For desserts we got the Mango With Sticky Rice and Lemon Tart. The former was the standard with good quality mango and not super sweet rice. The lemon tart had a good sourness though I would say the crust was a bit thick. Still both were tasty and I would get both again and they were both reasonably priced. Overall the food was good. If this was in a different neighborhood, I would probably give them a mid 3 saying that there were a bit too many faults especially with the entrees but the appetizers are very good but because it's this neighborhood and because of the more unique offerings which all happened to work, a low 4 is accurate for me. Would go back.

    Lychee Thai Iced Tea

We went into this restaurant while looking around for Thai food. We came across this place in our search and decided to try it. Immediately we were greeted by our waitress who was very friendly and helpful with explaining the menu. We ordered the Thai iced tea and the Lychee Thai iced tea. Both were masterfully made and tasted amazing. The Thai iced tea was a little different than what we've had at other places, but we both agreed it was the best one we've tried yet. It had lots of flavor and wasn't too sweet. The Lychee Thai iced tea was very refreshing and slightly sweet but perfectly balanced. For appetizers we got the Mango Salad, Pork Dumplings, and Steak Empanada. The Mango Salad was absolutely delicious. A little spicy, but the mix of flavors and textures really made it stand out. The Pork Dumplings were super flavorful and cooked to perfection. Lastly, the Steak Empanada is what really threw us off; it was phenomenal. I can't explain the flavor used in it, but it was something neither of us ever had before. It's almost like a licorice flavor that's present, mixed with everything else. Normally I'm put off by anything of the sort, but it worked so well. It was also equally cooked to perfection; crispy and flakey where it counts. You only get one, but the size of it is more than enough for an appetizer. For entrees we got the Tiger Cry (medium rare) and the Spicy Eggplant Basil with Tofu (we added chicken). These dishes were incredible. The Tiger Cry was cooked perfectly to medium rare, and was full of so much flavor. The portion was also very generous especially considering the cost. The rice and vegetables were a bit plain, but I prefer that so that I can blend them with the steak. The Spicy Eggplant Basil with Tofu and Chicken was also packed of flavor, although not as spicy as we expected. Still delicious overall, and it was also a generous portion. We barely finished all of our food. Service was also exceptional. Our waitress Khob Khun Kha was perfect. She answered all of our questions clearly, concisely, and was just pleasant to interact with overall. She was also quick and accommodating. Overall, this place is an absolute must for anyone looking to try asian inspired dishes in the neighborhood. Cost wise it was way cheaper than we expected but the food and service surpassed our expectations by a longshot. We're planning to return very soon!

[takeout review] I had the munchies on a Friday night but didn't feel like eating at the restaurant alone so I ordered take out. I got the chicken skewers with coconut rice and the spicy mango salad (medium spicy). They were pretty busy with dinner service and delivery people coming in for pick ups but I didn't have to wait long to get my order to go. Everything was so delicious, the spicy mangy salad caught me by surprise because first few bites were pretty mild and then it hit me hehe. Photos are of me plating from the takeout containers and everything is packed so well and it travels great. I also thought that the portions were pretty large. I had less than half the mango salad (will have the rest with lunch tomorrow) and I didn't eat the full portion of rice but I was still so full when I finished. My first review was a little negative about the atmosphere I think because when I went I was the only person there. Tonight with other people around it's a really great vibe and would be a great place to take someone for dinner.

    Spicy Mango Salad

One of the few good restaurants in the area. L usually orders the same thing, spicy Thai fried rice and their spicy mango salad. I suggested the cashew chicken the other day. Generous portion. Very tasty.. if you order this with coconut rice, you will need a nap afterwards. It is so incredibly rich..delicious, just really heavy. The spicy mango salad is pretty light, the mango strips are ripe and sweet. Just a hint of spice. Lil cherry tomatoes, red onions and pistachios add a nice flavor and texture. We ate it with some white rice as a side dish and it was delicious. Still a bit pricey at $11 since it's just mango basically but it's enough for 2 as a side. Delivers pretty quick too which is a plus..

Best Asian restaurant in Inwood. In fact one of the best in the city. Unique Fusion Restaurant is just that. Authentic more than most other places that claim to be. There's a good amount of variety. A few weeks ago I came with my boo. I picked something and she copied me. We both got the Stir Fried Tofu. It's $13 for the entree. The price seems kind of high but it's a big portion. It comes with a lot of vegetables with the tofu, and it's seasoned without just being spicy hot. There's bean sprouts, mushrooms, and peppers. I like the relaxed atmosphere. It had a bar area with a limited drink selection. The food alone is worth coming for though.

The crispy octopus easily rivals anything I've had in Manhattan, super tender with just the right crisp. The cassava hash browns were so good I was almost annoyed by how simple they were. Paired with a rich, meaty sauce and a fresh fennel crunch, the whole dish was incredibly balanced. The wings were the most straightforward item on the menu (in the best way), lightly spiced, slightly sweet, and great for picky eaters. Someone needs to give the bartenders a raise. I ordered three drinks just to test consistency--every single one was balanced, spirit-forward, and not overly sweet. The presentation was different on each one and felt intentional without being gimmicky. I've seen some of the lower Yelp ratings and they mostly call out price, but this is very much a you get what you pay for situation. The quality of the food, the portion sizes (especially for this level of execution), and the overall intentionality behind the menu justify it in my opinion. Service was excellent. They squeezed me in last minute, and my waiter, Dionicio, handled my coconut allergy (not easy at a Dominican spot) with real care and ease. The space itself is worth mentioning - moody, mushroom/mossy interiors. Super cute, very well thought out, and definitely a place I'll be coming back to.

My friend continued waiting and trying to secure a table, but there was no communication from staff. To make matters worse, another group arrived after us and was seated before us. They mentioned they had been there before, and it felt like they were given priority while we were overlooked, despite waiting longer. Service at the bar was equally frustrating. The bartender was inattentive and focused only on certain sections. It took about 10 to 15 minutes just to get a simple glass of wine. We had to repeat our orders multiple times, which should have been a red flag. The appetizer, Korean wings, arrived quickly and was probably the only positive part of the evening. After that, everything went downhill. Our entrees took an extremely long time to arrive. It felt like nearly two hours. When the food finally came out, one of my friends did not receive her meal at all because the bartender forgot to put in her order. This was especially frustrating since we had repeated the order several times. When her dish, the pad Thai, finally arrived about 30 minutes later, it was mediocre at best and slightly cold. The steaks ordered by two of us were dry and under-seasoned. The vegetables were overcooked and bland. Overall, the food quality did not justify the long wait or the price. The bathrooms were another major issue. There was toilet paper on the floor and even period blood visible on the ground. It was unsanitary and honestly shocking. Cleanliness is the bare minimum for any establishment. The final bill came to $245, including an automatic $34 gratuity at the bar. Considering the service we received, this felt completely undeserved. There was no acknowledgment of the forgotten order and no attempt to make things right. As a final note, be cautious if you're wearing delicate or expensive clothing. The bar counter area has rough edges, and one of my friend's jerseys was snagged while we were sitting there. This was my first time here, and it will absolutely be my last. Between the poor service, mediocre food, lack of cleanliness, and high prices, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

Located within the historic Chelsea Market building--a former Nabisco factory where Oreo cookies were first produced--the restaurant feels theatrical in the best possible way. The soaring ceilings, dramatic lighting, and energetic atmosphere create a sense of occasion from the moment you walk in. It feels less like simply going out to dinner and more like stepping into a beautifully staged production. I started with a Botanist Gin Martini with a twist, which paired wonderfully with the meal. The surprise star of the evening was the new Cucumber Tiger Salad. The balance of flavors was exceptional: bright acidity, a pleasant touch of heat, and just enough mint to make each bite feel fresh and exciting. Every so often the mint would come through and suddenly all the flavors would click together in a way that made me immediately want another bite. This is a dish I would happily order again. Next came the Edamame Dumplings. They were delicate and comforting, especially when enjoyed with the accompanying broth. The broth adds depth and richness that elevates the entire dish. My only suggestion would be the slightest touch more salt, perhaps even a finishing sprinkle of black volcanic salt for both flavor and presentation. I also found myself wishing there were a bit more of that delicious broth because it contributes so much to the overall experience. For my entrée, I ordered the Glazed Alaskan Black Cod, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. The fish was rich, buttery, and perfectly prepared. What impressed me most was how thoughtfully the accompaniments were composed. The pickled cucumbers brought brightness, acidity, and crunch, while the black bean and eggplant relish delivered deep savory notes and unexpected complexity. I'm generally not an eggplant fan, but this relish was outstanding. The cucumbers and relish sit at opposite ends of the flavor spectrum, yet both somehow make the cod even better. Looking back, I think a glass of Sauvignon Blanc alongside the cod would have been the perfect pairing. I finished with the Miso Caramel Milk Bar, which was spectacular. Decadent, sweet, salty, and touched with just enough umami to keep every bite interesting. The chocolate crumble underneath added a wonderful crunch that contrasted beautifully with the creamy ice cream and luscious caramel sauce. Every component worked together perfectly, creating a dessert that was both indulgent and sophisticated. From start to finish, the meal felt polished, thoughtful, and memorable. Thank you!

It came with three pieces of bone with plenty of meat on them, on side of rice and beans. I loved the taste of the oxtail and the stew, was flavorful and meat was tender. I also got to try the seafood paella which lacked flavor, rice was so bland. The chicken & waffle's waffle was good but the fried chicken pieces were so basic. I got the mango mojito (non-achohol) that was so tasty, I ordered two of them. Our server was super nice, did an excellent job throughout the lunch. All staff members were friendly. Food came out in short intervals.

We have passed by Kuba thousands of times finally got a chance to check it out today. Honestly I…read moreexpected more from the food. Nice decor and welcoming vibes in the bar and dining areas. It has 2 levels. The staff were all nice and attentive. Unfortunately, the seafood paella was under seasoned. Very blend. Did not give me the saffron taste at all. Portion of seafood was generous. But again, blend. Chicken and waffle was dry. At least the chicken was seasoned on this one. Appetizer sampler was not bad. Get to try beef/chicken empanadas, chicken baos, pork croquettes, friend chicken dumplings. Ox tail was also blend to me. Overall the food was underwhelming but the service and atmosphere were nice.
