Now usually I don't give five stars unless I'm blown away by my visit. I'm blown away for now and hope that I stay that way. First off there are no cashier's and I don't recall if the tablets took any form of cas so everything is tap and pay through the tablet. I was greeted by a staff member and me explained to me how there ordering process goes. You order through the tablet and find somewhere to sit, and they bring you your order. I decided on some shrimp tacos and a horchata drink. I was really happy with what I ordered although my taco was over dressed with onions, my shrimp was bursting with flavor and my taco shell slightly crispy. Along with that horchata that tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, it was a very tasty meal. The restaurant itself is pretty trendy. It's very spacious with some cool decor to take photos and the bathroom is awesome. I never seen a bathroom that has a lock that you have to pay to get inside. Now of course you can get in free if you're dining there or are a paying customer. It's also very clean and very low lighted. This place is definitely giving good vibes. 3.5 Stars for me, couldve been a better experience, some people might say I sound picky but honestly, it's just basic, it's looks like a cool place when you go inside... it's all hype in my opinion the food lacks soul it's taste so franchisie if you know what I mean, I had the burrito and the tacos because they put wayy too much sauce and way too much rice, or too much lettuce... the amount of meat they put is laughable should call them Talkin Carbs the sauces isnt even mexican crema its just a wack sauce its like mayo or something, youre next to a dang gym give the men more freaking PROTEIN !!! This was a takeout experience and my first time ever having TT. They have a fusion situation going on in the menu, but I decided to play it safe with a classic--bang bang shrimp tacos. I generally thought the tacos had good flavor, but were a tad salty. The shell was also noticeably greasy and the filling didn't include enough shrimp for me. I would rate this first experience a 3.5, but am offering grace as I have friends who have recommended it. Will have to reassess in person. read more

I've ordered talking tacos a few times via delivery app but I figured it was time to visit and eat in store! The atmosphere was trendy, casual and had lots of neon lights. It was a chill vibey environment with great music. This store in particular was a bit small, doesn't have many tables or seating. The whole restaurant was also neon so it looked like everything was glowing! Cool to look at but hard to see my food without my phone flashlight. They have tablets to order to your own food/drinks and the staff will bring your food to your table. Service was very quick and food came out hot. The tacos themselves are very delicious but extremely rich. My fave thing was the guacamole! It was salty and fresh. My fave tacos were the Caribbean carne tacos. I never thought to put maduros on my tacos!! It may seem simple but it was creative to me and I enjoyed it a lot. Recent opening near Washington Square Park, on 6th Avenue between 3rd Street/Minetta Lane, offering relatively budget friendly Mexican from the Talkin Tacos franchise. I tried the Birria Tacos, good flavor, not overly salty... based on the juice from the meat, I know it's tough to keep the corn tortillas from getting messy or falling apart... I ate mine immediately and after the first bite, I opted to eat with them with a fork/ knife. You get 3 tacos per order. Convenient to Washington Square Park, Greenwich & West Village. I would grab a bite here when in the neighborhood (or pass by one in another location). They have a nice menu selection and would try other tacos, quesadillas, burritos or sides. read more

Ugh. This review pains me to say. I've been coming here weekly for the last 2 years and I've watched my go-to place just nose dive in quality. However, I don't blame the workers. I'd go as far as blame management. I've seen the workers bust their backs in service. The front knows me by name and has been very welcoming in my visits. However, every time I've come in I see the server at the to-go working solo and drowning in orders, and someone constantly trying to run out orders. So why is my pick up order (of one $18 quesadilla) 30 minutes late? I remember when the management here made a point to check in with customers, there would be workers helping in the dining room, and there wasn't a line obstructing the path inside. Alas, I fear my favorite has gone the way of all chain restaurants. More concerned with being a chain that sells a $7 mini tacos without actually caring about the customer. I definitely will be talkin about these tacos! I absolutely loved Takin Tacos so much! I would absolutely recommend this place. This place has some amazing nachos, that is bursting with flavor. The nachos also has so much stuff in it, from beans, guacamole, and tomatoes. And the portion sizes are really big, I was able to take a lot home for leftovers. Essentially, this place is so colorful, festive, and vibrant! They also have alot of halal options as well. You order the food through a kiosk, and the food comes out really quick. The place also wasn't really crowded when I went which is good. The customer service was pretty good at this place. I've ordered here 3x through delivery and the Birria tacos are consistently delicious!!! I can just drink the entire consome. LOL Ate here once and the dining experience was also very nice! Excellent Cali chicken burrito with French fries in the burrito. The chicken was tender, everything flavorful. I'm glad I sat there and ate because there was a selection of Talkin Tacos hot sauces that added a lot to the burrito. Talking tacos is a cute taco spot uptown. The decor is pretty. They have kiosk where you can place your order either to go or eat in. The restaurant is not huge but they have seating at the counter and i believe at least 5 tables. The birria tacos were good and so were the achiote chicken tacos. All of he tacos were cold so idk if that's the vibe there. I prefer my filling hot. The nachos were goooood. The tortilla chips were crispy and salty. I'm not a fan of the avocado cream it was sweet. I'm honestly very disappointed with my experience at Talking Taco last night. I stopped by for a late-night dinner and ended up witnessing extremely unprofessional behavior from one of the employees. A customer placed a second order, and the employee accused them of trying to get free food. The customer calmly explained that wasn't the case and that they were simply ordering again. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the employee became loud, disrespectful, and escalated things way too far. At one point, the employee even took off his shirt and tried to fight the customer, while other staff members had to hold him back. He continued to provoke the situation, even going as far as threatening to spit on the customer. It was completely inappropriate and uncomfortable to witness. Situations like this should always be handled with professionalism and respect. We should treat people the way we want to be treated. The mixture of ingredients made for an enjoyable lunch. The tortillas tasted good, but I would prefer two per taco. Plenty of steak was given on each taco. I would have liked more fish on the mahi mahi taco, as I had a few bites that were all cabbage. I wouldn't call this authentic, as there was a certain something that is central to Mexican cuisine which this restaurant does not offer.
