This place is awesome! The owner is super nice, knows what he is doing and makes amazing crepes for a good price. I got banana and Nutella crepes for $5.

I'm so glad I stopped and even more that I patiently waited for Pierre to carefully prepare the two breakfasts ahead of mine.

Park of BG's Food Cartel, Smaaken Waffle Sandwiches serves up way more than chicken and waffles…read more I was nervous when my friends suggested this spot, I've had waffle sandwiches before that were too much waffle and not enough filling... or just a mess to eat. But Smaaken has the perfect balance. The waffles are thinner so that they're more like slices of bread than a thick meal of their own. The toppings are well balanced and they have gluten free and vegan options. They were open late on the night we visited and have typical breakfast options as well as sandwiches with ham and Turkey, bacon, veggies, chicken and even sweet options. It took about ten to fifteen minutes for our order to be ready but it came out hot and fresh and tasted great! Keep an eye out for their specials and don't forget that they have other items like waffle fries.

Waffles are a family favorite…read more Both of my minions dragged me out of the house pretty early on a weekend morning to get waffles and espresso and eat outside at this food truck in an outdoor food court /food truck extravaganza in Beaverton. We got: - a Monte Carlo waffle ( turkey, raspberry jam, cheese, maple butter). - a Monte Cristo waffle ( ham, strawberry jam, cheese, maple butter). - a Holla waffle (super fluffy egg, cheddar, nicely cooked bacon, maple butter) It is all made to order so it is not fast but everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. The waffles are great. There were plenty of tables with umbrellas. Everyone was masked even outdoors. Parking is a little sketchy. Plan accordingly. Both espresso trucks that used to be here are apparently gone, so get your coffee before you come get your food if fancy coffee is a priority. Smaaken Waffles provided a lip smacking yummy breakfast. They have tons of choices: sweet, savory, vegetarian, vegan, meaty, fruity, and nutty. Their menu was extensive. I didn't spot the most probably delightful brie or goat cheese waffles until after we ordered. I really like brie and goat cheese. We will be back.

Good Day Yelpies!! You can go wrong with good brunch a cup…read moreof coffee and shopping for plants. Service is a bit slow but I'll chock that up to being busy. Spring brunch was a great choice with bacon. Very refreshing and well put together. Cheers The Dutchman

Second time coming to Cornell Farm Cafe, and probably the last (except to grab some pastries to…read morego). Hostess called the wrong 'Sarah' after waiting 50 minutes for a table, which is fine, mistakes happen, except she forgot to put us back on the waitlist which meant we had to wait even longer for a table. When we finally got seated for breakfast, we were told the kitchen was a little backed up so it would take a little longer than normal for food - we waited over an hour for our food to come, and no one came to provide us with an update until we asked for it. We stopped in for brunch around 10:00 on a Friday morning and didn't leave until almost 1:15 after waiting to be seated then waiting for our food. I will add, the Denver omelet (vegetarian with fried tofu instead of ham) was really good! We also loved the strawberry scones and chocolate chip cookies. Like I said - I would come back to grab some pastries and a coffee, but probably would not recommend this place to eat.

To be honest, when our plans to go bowling and have lunch at Big Al's today fell through because…read morethey didn't open till 3, but we still wanted to eat (and hadn't had breakfast yet at 1:30), I tried every option I could think of to not go to Bannings. When we moved to Oregon, it was under construction but we kept hearing how good it was - in fact, all the local FB pages would gush about it when a newcomer would ask about the best restaurant. And once it finally opened, we tried it, but it was kind of like Marie calendars and Shari's, but local. Ok, but not what we had expected for all the hype. So, after trying a handful of options it seemed Bannings was the only place we could still get breakfast so I begrudgingly agreed. Well, I was mistaken! I got the breakfast enchiladas and a strawberry orange mimosa. Now, the mimosa - I'll get that out of the way first. It was weird - it looked curdled. It just had mashed strawberry at the bottom and it actually was quite good. I'd do a normal mimosa in the future, but good. But the enchiladas - delicious. Like, I'll come back again and again for those. And they didn't charge me extra for the avocado, which I think is righteous because I asked for no hash browns. But not all places would do that, they'd nickel and dime even if you passed on one side for another. Additionally; my husband likes a savory breakfast and a sweet one too - so he often gets two breakfasts and though he may not eat all of both he gets that savory and sweet. Well, the omelettes come with 3 pancakes. Perfection. And, I took 3 bites of them - I usually might try 1 or not at all - they are very very good. Last - it did not break the bank. I've about ruled out breakfast out because of how crazy expensive the places that should be reasonable are. This was reasonable - PLEASE DONT CHANGE!! All in all 5 stars, will be back for breakfast; and hey - when I'm wrong I can admit I was wrong! Give them a try if you haven't!

You need a great breakfast, a solid lunch, or a slice of something sweet? Then this is a good spot…read moreto keep in mind. The last couple times I've visited Portland, my local friend has dragged me along here, and it has been quite satisfying each time. Nothing terribly fancy or nuanced about this joint. Just good food in a family-style diner kind of atmosphere. The Belgian Waffle is always a good choice, in my book. But they have plenty of breakfast scrambles and platters, too. And the burgers here are pretty darn good. But if you are at all in the mood, definitely try their pies. You see them right by the door, tempting you as soon as you walk in. And while my friend can vouch how their Pumpkin Pie is legendary (especially around the autumn holidays), I can say with certainty you want to try their Key Lime Pie! Prices are pretty decent for the portions you get. And service is generally very friendly and prompt, though they can get a little backed up on weekend mornings. Parking is also typically easy. And if the weather is nice, I would recommend taking a seat out on the patio. So yeah, nothing fancy, which is sometimes what you really need. This has become one of our most frequented breakfast stops when visiting PDX, and I can definitely forsee returning.
