I ordered a savory crepe at the OHSU Farmer's Market. It was a charming operation of a middle aged man making the food and his teenage daughter taking orders. The crepe was filled with cheese, oyster mushrooms, salmon, tomato, and parsley, and topped with raddish and crema (or maybe it was cream cheese and I'm trying to be fancy). I liked it a lot, it had a lot of flavors going on, all of them complex. If I were to make a change I might have eased up on the parsley. Dreading another breakfast sandwich this morning, a bright yellow "Waffles and Crepes" sign grabbed my attention just as I pulled out of the closed - Mexican drive-thru across Canyon Rd. I'm so glad I stopped and even more that I patiently waited for Pierre to carefully prepare the two breakfasts ahead of mine. I ordered a savory crepe with eggs, cheese and spinach. Oh it was so perfect! The crepe was eggy and light, some kind of tasty swiss cheese and light fluffy eggs. In the paper basket, it was so big that it was split into two. And so filling that I saved half for lunch! This morning, I really didn't want to go to work, and I really didn't want a drive thru breakfast sandwich. I'm in love with this little truck! My partner and I were excited when I found this waffle/crepes truck on Yelp. Since my partner is Belgian, he's always eager for waffles and crepes. I tried the crepe with Nutella and he ordered a plain crepe with sugar because the owner didn't have the batter for the waffles ready at the time. My partner said the crepe and the sugar used in the crepe were as authentic as they come - He love it. I liked my crepe other than felt there was too much nutella inside and was so sweet and thick. I stood in line for 20 minutes to try to buy a very simple crepe order at the BEAVERTON Farmers Market. The line was moving at a snails pace and several people left the line while waiting because it was taking so long. After not even getting to the front of the line to place my order, the owner popped his head out of the truck and said he only had enough to make three more crepes. I would have appreciated him letting people know of that before waiting in the very long line for so long first. I wouldn't have bothered standing in his line so long and I would have gotten something else to eat before all the vendors started closing. Such a treat to try his egg and bacon crêpe, made on the spot. My wife got the plain waffle, which was also excellent.
