One of the breakfast places that I was excited to go in Portland was The Waffles Window. Their waffles looked amazing, I thought it is such a cute concept to get them over the window. To our surprise, when we got there, the window was closed. I was so sad, until we realized that they are actually in full operation in the inside. So, the "window-serve takeaway joint" was inside the cafe, which worked out great for us. It was nice to have a table seating. Inside the cafe was very large, with lots of tables and chairs. They offer sweet & savory Belgian-style waffles. I love Liege waffles, and excited to see how they do it with Portland Twist. Their menu was big, there is something for everyone. We decided to order one sweet, and one savory kind. We got Seasonal Special item, Rose City made with Strawberries, Rose Cream, Rhubarb Sauce, and Whipped Cream. It was super beautiful, the tart rhubarb sauce went great with the sweet strawberries and whipped cream. The waffle was amazing and fluffy, super tasty! For the savory kind, we went with Three B's. It is made with Thick Cut Pepper Bacon, Brie Cheese, and Fresh Basil, service with House Recipe Peach Jam. It was delicious! The combination of pepper bacon and brie was amazing, and basil added that extra flavor to bring them all together. Delicious! We had a really nice breakfast here. We loved the waffles we ordered, we enjoyed every bite. I wish if we could try so many more!

I love their fried chicken and waffle with gravy. It is so delicious. Half order is enough to get a delicious taste of their best item on their menu. But everything else is very good. Friendly employees. Very casual dining. Bus your own table.

It was an interesting concept because I think there was another restaurant next to it, but you have to buss your own tables. Get your own waters. But the fried chicken was so good like seriously I can tell that their oil is clean. You didn't feel heavy after eating it. The strawberry waffles were amazing. I got it in the morning time so it kind of felt like breakfast. The waffles themselves however, I have personally had better in Portland. not bad at all satisfied my cravings 8.5 out of 10.

The kiddo was in the mood for a waffle and boy did we find a good one! He's pretty picky about crisp, chew and fluff and he was happy as a clam. Piles high with fresh strawberries and cream with just the right amount of Nutella!

Must try! One of our favorite places to go for breakfast when in Portland. My favorite is the Three B's (Bacon, Brie and Basil). For a sweeter side try the Strawberries at Midnight! Waffle Bot is filling if you need more to fill your tummy. Good service. You can order at the window or eat inside the restaurant if you prefer sit down especially during cold rainy days.

Ordered "to-go" as a road trip meal back to CA. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was ready very quickly. Ordered the Pulled Pork Waffle and Half Order Chicken & Waffle. Unfortunately the Pulled Pork Waffle wasn't as flavorful as I'd hoped. The meat could've used more seasoning or more punch in the blackberry sauce. You also have to eat it fast because the coleslaw in-between will make the waffle soggy. On the bright side, the Chicken & Waffle was delicious! I'm addicted to Roscoe's, and this came in 2nd. The sweet & savory flavor was spot-on. Stayed crunchy, and just the right sweetness. I'm glad I ordered both because this really saved my experience. I'll definitely return for the Chicken & Waffle and rather than the pulled pork, try a sweet waffle option.

Amazing food and service! Seating available inside and outside. Nice, comfy breakfast spot (for any time of day). The waffles are delicious and can easily be turned into a larger meal by adding eggs, potatoes and/or bacon. I do wish they had a veggie bacon option, but otherwise a perfect experience. We will be back!

This is kind of an odd spot. You don't get to order from the waffle window itself, you have to go inside Bread and Ink Cafe. There, it feels like a covid-era throwback where the main dining room is cleared out with a makeshift ordering station set up on a folding table. Other rooms have people sitting and eating Bread & Ink's brunch. You have to stand in line with all the brunch people to place your order, which defeats the purpose of the "window" aspect. Also, the waffle was not packaged in an especially mobile way. You definitely have to sit down to eat it. I dunno, I was expecting the Waffle Window to be a walk up window where you could get an eat-on-the-go waffle. It's now just basically the waffle menu of the sit down restaurant Bread & Ink.

Nothing has changed! Came back recently and loved everything as always. I feel like it's a good sign when a business is consistently doing everything right and that's definitely them!

A popular waffle spot in Portland, The Waffle Window, serves savory and sweet waffles to satisfy your cravings! There were so many options, I didn't know what to order, I knew I wanted something sweet so I asked for recommendations and I ended up ordering a strawberry cheesecake waffle. Let me tell you, it was delicious! I loved every bite of it. The waffle was crispy, the cheesecake pudding was creamy and smooth, and the whip cream topped on top was perfect!

This place never disappoints! The service is always warm and friendly. The space is very chill, with lots of seating, both indoor and outdoor. The waffles are perfection! Crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. Tons of vegetarian options, especially on the sweet side. I've tried several, but the Bananarumba keeps calling me back. Pro tip: sign up for the Waffle Club on their website to receive a free waffle around your birthday.

I tried their chicken and waffles. It came with the options of gravy and syrup. I got both! The sweetness of the waffle and the savoriness of the fried chicken make this a perfect combination. I will definitely order this item again. It is highly recommended.

Welcome to the waffle window! I was intrigued by the variety and delicious looking flavor combinations. When we arrived there was ample street parking available during the weekday - I feel like the weekend may be a busy time for them so plan accordingly. You order and pay at the front desk, they give you a buzzer and you come back up for the food. The girl working the front desk was plain not very nice during our interaction - we tipped well and were polite so maybe it was just an off day for her - we all have those days! We got the strawberry Nutella and the "three b's" which had Brie , bacon and basil. I loved the combinations of flavors, however both waffles were over cooked and for the price point the toppings were skimpy. The waffles definitely left me wanting more Brie and more Nutella as the over done nature of the waffles dried them out. For the price point at $31 (before tip) for two waffles I would hope for more topping or at least table service. Like I said above we went on a weekday and there was plenty of seating available - I am assuming prime hours are weekend brunch. I would come back and invite friends for a casual brunch spot and there were several flavors I'm excited to try in the future!

We decided on outdoor patio seating since the weather was nice & it was generally quieter outside. We were people watching for a bit and noticed that our fellow restaurant goers were waiting for quite a bit, but we weren't in a hurry, so it was fine. When our waiter eventually tended to us, he was incredibly friendly & apologetic, owning up to the delay being on him, but we were cool with it -poor guy was working a double shift. We started off with deep-fried okra, I ordered the fried chicken meal, & hubby ordered the burger. I got to pick the chicken pieces I wanted, so I went with 2 thighs, thinking they'd be smaller pieces, so I could maybe finish my meal. I opted for collard greens as well. The food came relatively quickly and was super-fresh. The fried okra bits were piping hot down to the last bite. They went well with the spicy aioli. We hung onto the aioli so hubby could dip his fries. My meal was so good. The chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful. The batter was just perfect and crisp. Mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. Gravy was rich and well-seasoned. Collard greens were so tasty. The balance of textures was just perfection. I ended up having to pack up a piece of chicken because it was so much food, but I enjoyed every bite I was able to take of my meal. I appreciated their welcoming vibe & the beautiful pride balloon arch inside the restaurant. I appreciated the friendly service. I appreciated the thoughtfully and expertly made food. It was a perfect way to end my culinary experience for this Portland visit.

After trying several restaurants during our trip to Portland, this was one of the places I was most excited to visit because of all the hype. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The service was good, but it wasn't especially memorable or exceptional. Overall, I'd describe the experience as average. I wouldn't make a special trip across town or plan a vacation around eating here, but if you're already in the area, it's worth giving it a try. Everyone's taste is different, and you may end up enjoying it more than I did.
