I'm delighted to have found the ideal groomer for our little Queen. The salon is upstairs from the store and while I didn't enter the actual grooming area, judging from the rest of the establishment and level of service, I'll assume it's equally as pristine and posh. Best groomer and shop ever!! I've been taking my dogs (fIve different ones) to Ooh La La for 10ish years. Barb is consistently excellent as a groomer and the dogs don't dread going in, and are calm and happy when I pick them up. Scheduling is easy and I love only leaving them for as long as the appointment is - other groomers often want the dogs to be dropped in the am and picked up at the end of the day and they end up dehydrated and panicked. Ohh La La truly cares about the dogs and the customers - I drive 30 miles each way to take them there and I'll never go anywhere else!! Shop is super cute as well. read more

This is the only place I will take my dogs to get groomed, I found this cute boutique when I moved to Nevada and have been going here for over 4 years now. They care for your pets as if they were one of their own and are honest and patient with any of your grooming needs. I take both of my dogs here a miniature poodle and Maltipoo. One of my dogs has anxiety and is always anxious when she goes out a bit of a hand full sometimes but they always have a way of making her feel at ease and relaxed as possible, which I am so thankful for. I have been coming to Ooh La La for years. I had a few bad grooming experiences in Henderson where too many dogs were booked and it would take 5-6 hours to finish the grooming. We were so pleased to find Ooh La La in Boulder City! Candy, the owner, always greets me with a smile and warm conversation. They never overbook, and my sweet Arnie is normally done with his grooming in an hour-hour and a half. Barb, Arnie's groomer, is the best! She gets so thrilled to see my sweet boy and handles him with the utmost care. He is always so happy to get his grooming and wags his tail in excitement when I mention going to see Barb. It wasn't until after reading Yelp's policy statement that I learned a business CANNOT remove negative reviews. So, if ALL they have is 5-star comments, they've earned that special place among those providing goods and/or services. When my previous groomer became too scattered--with too much personal drama--I consulted Yelp for my new grooming home. Ooh La La's reviews were nothing but raves from those who patronized their shop. When you walk in, you'll immediately take in owner Candy's boutique--an eclectic variety of dog and cat items from refrigerator magnets to toys, harnesses and doggie dress-up outfits. The store is immaculate and appears that every detail has been considered, planned and executed, like a fabulous Hollywood movie set. It is as if the Art Director was told to create an easy on the eyes visual where the viewer would want nothing more than to visit that very location and take selfies: "I was at Ooh La La in Boulder City!" Candy's boutique notwithstanding, Barb the groomer is right out of Central Casting. She perfectly fits the part of someone with artistic sensibilities to provide "that look" as well as the practical down-to-earth technical skills that offer necessary services we "Parents" want someone else to do. When Barb handed our two Chihuahuas back to us, it was crystal clear she not only knows what she's doing but LOVES doing it. Both dogs were relaxed, looked and smelled amazing and clearly were none the worse for wear. My main concern when leaving my FurBabies with strangers is how they will be treated. Will they be traumatized? Never want to come back? I believe with all my heart, if my pups could talk they'd both ask, "When can we go back?" Just moved here and needed a groomer. Fortunately ohhlala is just a 5-minute drive. But I think I would drive a lot further just to come back. Took my chihuahua Chico in for a bath along with brushing his teeth. I was very pleased at the amount of plaque and tartar that they were able to get off his teeth with just a basic brushing. As I'm concerned about getting his teeth cleaned by a Vet, since he's 11 years old and I don't want to put him under. In addition, he was also treated to a nail clipping and anal gland expression. After walking into this place and checking out what they had they told me they groomed dogs and took me upstairs to check it out. I was very happy with what I saw and decided to take my dog (Midas) back to get groomed. He has never had this kind of grooming. Just the occasional hose bath from my husband and I. This was my first time at this shop. When I picked Midas up after his grooming and Blue Berry facial, I have never felt him so soft and fluffy and he smelled so good. He was such a happy boy. We have been very lucky to find Ooh La La. I have a 15 1/2 year old rescue pup. He has always had a lot of anxiety issues since I adopted him 8 years ago. He can't see or hear as well as he used to so that's added to his anxiety. Hes a Lhasa Apso so he needs grooming and Amy is so patient with him. I'm not worried about his looking "perfect" but he always looks so handsome. Candy and Amy help make his experience as calm as possible. Candy has also helped with product suggestions that help his anxiety and arthritis. He's eating better and more active. Definitely go check out all they have to offer. We love this place...and our dog does too! When you walk in, the first thing you'll notice is the adorable decor and unique pet products that you won't find at any big box store! Our dog loved his "spaw" day here too and was completely at ease from the moment he walked in. They don't keep dogs in cages, so he was able to play with a new dog friend there and get acquainted with the place and groomers before his service. Candy, the owner, is so kind and cares so much about each dog and makes sure they have a wonderful experience. I have purchased various items in the store when I make the journey to Boulder City but never ever again! We were attending the Boulder City wine walk and walking by the store. We were excited to see the light on and the sign say open. It wasn't a wine stop but we wanted to pick up a few things for our pups. Upon entering we were immediately told "this is not a wine stop", the tone was neither kind or informative but rather quite clipped. We responded by telling her that we were aware we just were interested in shopping real quick. She then in the same clipped tone said I'm closed. My friend pointed to her sign which was clearly flipped to open and said, we looked and the sign said open. Then she in a very nasty tone told us she hadn't flipped it yet obviously. I struggle to find the words to describe her rude disdainful tone. We immediately walked out and swore to never ever come in again. Had she politely said she was sorry the sign had not flipped but she was closed we would not have minded. Had she not began with her harsh assumption that we only wanted wine we might not have been so offended. This event brings so much business to Boulder and it's small businesses. What a shame that a shop owner would be so rude. I'm sure if you live in Boulder your grooming options are limited but I don't suggest going out of your way to visit this store. read more

I had just left here with my 2 little girls, and we had an EXCELLENT experience! My Boston - Cocker, Stella is 2 1/2, and on the timid side, but thanks to the energy of the wonderful groomer, her anxiety was an all time low. My cavalier mix Luna is a lover, but she had a few bad experiences with other groomers, which has caused her to become protectively her little paws. Once again, the groomer here gave my Luna every reason they just relax. By the end of her mani, there wasn't any sign of the kind of anxiety that I've witnessed at other places. I'm glad that I had found them on Yelp with all the great reviews and their wonderful picture gallery. There are no cages whatsoever, which was a huge factor for me, because that was another painful stressor for Luna. There are so many reasons why I'm going to bringing my little girls back there, and I think once you walk in, meet the owner and the groomer, you'll just get it. I highly recommend Ooh La La if you truly want your babies to be respected and loved while going through their spa day, then bring them here! read more

This was my son's dog's first "spaw" experience so I was nervous about how he would react. He was a very good boi for his procedures and walked out of there a very proud pup with his fancy spring bow tie. When he arrived home, our other two dogs were very excited to see him and thought he smelled like a new dog. In addition to the grooming services, there are so many other things here to look at, try out and purchase! I loved the clothes, but there are super practical things like cool water bottles for dogs, Kong toys, ID tags, toys and leashes. The owner, Candy, is so sweet and helpful. I mentioned my dog's potential nervousness and she made sure he was comfortable before they started the grooming process. The business hours are convenient and parking was not a problem. I like that the location is close to our home and also close to downtown so we could do some shopping while we waited for him to be ready. All in all, four paws up for Ooh La La! read more

I have two little Maltese Doggies. (Maltese are always white.). One is 13 years old and the other is a year old. The 13 year old has always had sensitive skin and although she is tiny, she is hard to handle and demands special care and gentleness when grooming. The baby is pretty easy and compliant but I obviously want her to stay that way. I don't want her to start fearing going to the groomer because she has been handled roughly by someone. I want to tell you that Amy at Ooh LaLa is the BEST groomer I have ever had. My pups come away from their experience at Ooh LaLa happy and ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Amy takes all the time that is needed so that my pups have a pleasant time. She does not rush her work which results in basically calm dogs at the end of the grooming session. Candy, the owner, is such a nice, caring person. It is a PLEASURE to use the services at Ooh LaLa and I cannot recommend them more highly! read more

Needed to get my dog's nails trimmed while passing through the Lake Mead area. Ooh LaLa was able to squeeze me in on short notice and was even able to make room in the schedule for a full grooming on my little dog. My big dog (Beric) is a bit of a challenge...we recently rescued him and he is still unsure of people and tends to panic. But the folks here were patient with him throughout the process (in his mind clearly attempted murder) but he survived it and when I returned with him to the shop to pick up my little dog, Beric happily strolled right in and even tried to go up the stairs to the "scene of the crime." Obviously they had not traumatized him which is important to his learning to trust again. This place is the best!! My mom turned me onto Ooh La La and would always tell me how great the groomers are and how kind the owner Candy is. We used to go to PetSmart to get our fur babies groomed, but I was blown away after picking up my dogs. As soon as I walked in with my 2 pups I was warmly welcomed by Candy- you can tell she is a beloved member of the community, everyone that stepped through the door lit up when catching up with her. I was pleased to meet the groomer and even more happy to see that they allow you to see their entire work area, which is clean and comfortable. My 10 year old poodle mix came out looking like an unrecognizable fluffy puppy, literally looked 8 years younger; I had never seen her that well groomed, it was a complete before and after. And speaking of before and afters, Candy always posts pictures of your babies and tells you how their day at the spa was. Amy, the groomer, did the best job I have ever seen. Yesterday I took my Niko (Shih Tzu) to Ooh La La and when I got there I was so impressed with everything I was looking at in the store! I was greeted as soon as I went in and we were walking around the store and they even gave me some food to try for Niko which he loved. Niko had a bad experience at my other groomers so I was a little leery with him going to a new one hoping he would be o.k. When I went to pick him up Amy was so great with him and he looked amazing.
