Such a fun time! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Said to get there before 6pm, but the show does not start till 6:45ish, gives you time to get a drink, go to the bathroom and get yourself settled in. Comedy, dance and extremely talented people will entertain you while you sit outside under the open sky. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. They do have a "speak easy" for more than water to drink. Hosted dessert is a nice touch towards the end. Can't wait to go back. read more

What an amazing show.... Great for date night or just to go out and have fun. You will be entertained all night long. Such amazing talent and it's all captured here in San Diego. The venue at Tango del Rey was very well suited. The house was sold out so the room was packed however youu could sneak up to the upper deck and check out the show from another angle and stretch out those legs. Burlesque, comedy, drinks and cheese and fruit platter I'm game anytime. I've been to two shows and both shows were completely different. Loved how they are involving local San Diego comedians as Bijan hosted last night. No one show is the same and you will definitely be entertained at each show. The show was misleading. It was not a true burlesque nor cabaret show. It was more like a talent showcase. The women were all beautiful, captivating and talented. There just wasn't enough burlesque that was highly publicized or properly showcased. We were very disappointed in the lack of performances. The rest of the show had filler entertainment which consisted of a comedian and a drum line group which took away from the whole evening. They were fun to watch but it just wasn't cohesive at all and took away from the Oh la la revue. It should of been 2 separate shows. The worst part of the evening was the venue. On top of the admission fee, we were forced to purchase $20 in drinks or food. The bar was a typical bar but lacked top shelf options. And for the patrons that were not drinking, we paid $10 for Costco bottled water! It wasn't even the large bottle nor were there other bottled water options. There was suppose to be a menu on the table for appetizer options which turned out to be just cheese and cracker plate with a spoonful of hummus in the center served on a cheap styrofoam plate. And yes it also $10 a plate with no other options. It was probably also purchased at Costco too. They were short on servers so we were better going to the bar to get service. There was also lack of seating and if you got there late you had to stand in the back. I've seen other cabaret and burlesque shows but not one that lacked the essence of a true revue. We were a party of 10 and were overall disappointed in the show and basically called it a talent showcase. They need to fine a new venue with more drink and food options with proper presentation. Using styrofoam plates and low grade plastic cups cheapened the whole evening. Proper staffing such as servers would be helpful too. We would not recommend going to this monthly review until they work on more numbers and actually showcase burlesque dancers rather than the filler acts. Don't waste your time or money because paying $10 for a Costco bottled water and $10 for a styrofoam plate of cubed cheese, 2 crackers, 10 grapes and spoonful of hummus was a total joke. read more

As a performer myself I tend to always be slightly over critical of the shows I attend. I have seen some really bad ones and some really great ones. I've been to other burlesque shows that seem to have the same thing 14 times in a row: girls in sexy outfits dance around, play with an audience member, and in the last 30 seconds take of their clothes. I know that's kind of how they work, but as a straight female that doesn't care one way or another if I see other women's boobs there needs to be just a little something more to really get me excited! I have to say that I had a great time last night at Ooh La La's first ever Revue. There were so many different types of performances! Always something new on stage and I really appreciated that. Here's the breakdown: It's a smaller, shorter show than I have seen them do before. It also was marketed as a "variety show", which contrasts their typical big, burlesque show they do bi-annually (which I love seeing). However, I really appreciated that variety they had last night. There were a few hot dance numbers, a couple of sexy burlesque numbers, a CRAZY amazing woman that did all kinds of gravity-defying balancing tricks, a comedian, a sword/belly dancer, and (my personal favorite) a "Stomp"-like group that created crazy intense beats on things like jugs of water, barrels, and pipes! Dance numbers: Fun! Energetic! Costumes were great! Burlesque numbers: The only act that I was slightly less impressed with was the burlesque dancer. She was great and had some great credentials, but I've seen better...even just in the larger Ooh La La shows or in other burlesque shows around San Diego. She was sexy and engaged the audience, I'll give her that. But, I personally don't think showcased a lot of actual talent outside of making taking her clothes off look sexy. Maybe that's just the over-critical dancer in me. I would have liked to see some kind of dancing or maybe a trick or two from her. Gravity Defying balancing Lady: WHAT THE ****!!!??? HOW DOES SOMEONE EVEN DO THAT!? Definitely blew me away! I would pay just to see her again! Comedian: Funny. It's tough to do a ten minute bit in the middle of a show and actually make people laugh! He pulled it off pretty well. Belly Dancer: The swords were definitely cool. It wasn't as energetic as some of the other acts, but I could see the high skill level this performance required so I think I'm okay with the mellow-ness (is that a word) of this act. It definitely was different, which I guess is the point of a "variety" show. Chris Rubio's Crew- I've seen them before and I have to say every time I see them they are the absolute HIGHLIGHT of the show! I love the strong beats and they are just SO TALENTED and so high energy! He's funny, too! He incorporated jokes while they were switching props and I LOVE that he brought audience members up to help sometimes. It really made you feel connected to the show! LOVE THEM! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Just this act alone makes it worth every penny to me To my understanding there will be new acts every monthly show. If the rest of the shows live up to this show I think you're in for a real treat. I agree with some of the other reviews that $10 for a glass from a $5 wine bottle I can get at Costco is a little irritating. That's not really an issue with the Ooh La La Revue itself, though, as I know they just rent the space. It's the fault of the venue (Tango Del Rey). If you're gonna charge me that much for a glass of wine maybe just hide the bottle so I can be tricked to think it's more expensive? Just saying. But, as far as the quality of the show goes: top notch! read more

LOVE this show! I don't think I've ever that entertained for 1.5 hours straight. It was constant from the comedians, to the sexy strip teases, to the drum line, to the HOT cosabella's dances. My cheeks hurt at the end, because I honestly don't think I stopped laughing/smiling the entire time. The emcee, Tito, is now my favorite human being too. Everyone that was involved with the show, especially Susie, the producer, seemed so humble and so full of love for what they do and the people who come to support. And really $20 for tickets and $20 for food and drink is a great deal. Dinner and a show for $40, probably the cheapest you can find in the SD area. Heck, probably the cheapest in SoCal. read more

I went to see their first monthly show last night and had a GREAT time. All of the acts were very entertaining and I know I had a huge grin on my face the whole time. I went with a friend and she had a great time as well. I loved the variety of the acts. All of the performers were super talented and the girls were beautiful. I can't tell you the last time I had that much fun at a performance. The energy level was through the roof. It is definitely a fun way to start off a Saturday night. The show lets out early enough so that you can still go out afterwards without having to be out too late. In terms of the venue itself, someone left a review saying that they didn't like the venue. My friend and I were commenting about how we thought the venue has charm and how beautiful it is; it would be a great place to hold a reception. In terms of seating, it is first come first served and no one is forced to stand in the back. There is a balcony with additional seating. Maybe the person who wrote about that in their review didn't notice. Also, some of the people who were standing around watching the other acts were the performers themselves, not paying guest. The $20 drink minimum didn't bother me or my friend. I remember we literally said "challenge accepted." We were drinking cocktails so for us it worked out. Seriously, check out the show. I would highly recommend it and I would definitely come back to the next show with more friends. read more

This is my second show and every time it has not been disappointing! They have amazing dancing by beautiful women but they also have other acts that aren't dancing but very entertaining! From my perspective, it's not so much about the high quality of the performances, the diversity of the shows presented or the sexiness of the dancers. Of course, you'll get all of that when entering the premises. It's more about the magic of the theater where all these wonderful performers execute their shows and how it makes you feel during each one of these performances. I attended Ooh la la review twice and, each time, I felt dynamic and hilarious when watching it, grateful and very considerate for the performers when leaving it. You can tell these people live for what they do, real people dedicated to the pursuit of their dream they will share with you. All the sexiness of the show is in their talented dedication and the irresistible sensuality they are able to unleash, when most of us would struggle at making a touch of charm emerge. Awesome show, and even more awesome considering it was the first! They squeezed so much variety into this show that it's hard to pick my favorite part --everything from beautiful talented burlesque acts to comedy and even cirque-style performances. The venue is beautiful and an intimate setting; perfect for a night out with the girls or even a date night. I bought advanced tickets and you just can't beat 15 bucks for that level of entertainment. Since I bought in advance I was very aware of the two drink minimum...you would be hard pressed to find two cocktails for less than 20 on a Saturday night in SD so it didn't bother me at all.
