Bartender was nice. The vibe of the bar was status quo dive bar. Older crowd of people.

I will bartender Robert and two patrons playing pool in the middle of the day. Only in San Diego. Looks like two liars oops I mean lawyers

Well no I'm not gay. In fact I'm not lgbtq plus plus plus or minus. I just love the vibe here. Robert is outstanding. My partner is a she and she is my better half. The drinks here are very, very strong. The music is fun. The atmosphere is fun and parking on the street after 6:00 p.m. Is free. What else do you want from a bar that's been around for just about 50 years come here you won't regret it. Oh and the service Robert is serving us not only serving us but he's singing and his voice is supreme. Last time I was here which was the first time I was here. Service was A+

You feel like part of the community the moment you step through the door, no matter who you are. The folks working behind the bar are absolute superstars. They're not just great at mixing up a delicious drink, but they're also super friendly and always up for a bit of banter. It's the kind of place where striking up a conversation with someone new at the bar is effortless. The drinks are strong and well priced, which is not a combination you can find many places these days! They don't serve food, but they are fine if you want to bring your own, which many folks do. We have enjoyed a cocktail and UberEats'd something so we didn't have to leave. Overall, while I am not a San Diego local (yet), I consider The Loft my local spot. Love this place!

Sad to say, but the advent of the internet and the inevitable generational changes have decimated bars and other small businesses.  San Diego Eagle's basically a dive bar which serves as an all male sanctuary where men yearn for the camaraderie of other men in real time and not in some online virtual space or hookup app. It is a place where men want to be exclusively surrounded by male hormones & pheromones. You can have anything you want as long as it's mostly BEER. Very "blue collar" feel as most Eagles the world over are apt to be. It's a place to let your hair down, burp, scratch crotches, tell your buddy that he's a bitch. Some of the clientele may be professionals, academics, entrepreneurs, but they're wearing torn jeans, "wife beaters", rough boots.  Prissy clean queens, who complain about how dirty, smelly, low down, funky with their noses up in the air, enter at their own risk. It's man's country with little of the niceties. You're not going to get Krug Grande Cuvée Brut nor Dom Pérignon here, and I'm perfectly happy with that. Go to the Addison for the fancy stuff.  In our increasingly digitized world, it's comfortIng to know there is a real bar with real people, drinking beer and talking schit.  4 stars  PS  Only drawback: Good luck tryIng to find any street parking at all even on a late weekday afternoon.

Later that day she tried to go there with her service dog, was denied entry and told her dog was not a service animal. Not only are they not dog friendly (which is wild to me for such a dog friendly town), they are not service animal educated. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), businesses and staff may only ask two specific questions when a service dog's status is not obvious: whether the dog is a service animal required because of a disability, and what work or task the dog has been trained to perform. After reading through the reviews this was not an isolated incident. It's clear that this business discriminates against individuals with disabilities by denying access to those with service animals. While I never want to patronize a place where all are not welcome, I advocate for families who are differently able. I will be reporting this place for intentional discrimination and exclusion.

Such an interesting layout, but it works! We got to sit at a table right next to the waterfall and pond. Our server was very nice. Probably the only slip-up in service, was that our main came out when we had barely put a dent in apps. We were probably chatting and sipping on wine too much? The expo realized, kept the mains, and said take your time. Then he brought out mains when we were ready. Everything on the menu sounded amazing.
