Often, it's as though most service relationships are adversarial...you vs them, as though there must be a winner and a loser. It's uncommon to come across a business that treats you fairly and genuinely cares about your experience throughout the business interaction. What is even more exceptional is finding a business that is able to leave an impression on you not just once, but one that consistently exceeds your expectations. We discovered Stamps when my wife's car was in need of tires. Our first experience brought us back, and every experience since has reaffirmed my opinion that Tim and his team are truly a rare find in the service industry. Most recently, I brought my F250 in for servicing. Of course, it was a weekday morning, trying to get kids to school before heading to work, and the truck won't start. Based on the input of a roadside assistance team, I was expecting to walk out with two new batteries and at least one, if not two alternators (dual alternator vehicle), and a hefty unexpected bill. Once the roadside assistance team got me running, I immediately called Tim and explained the situation. Tim, understanding my need to find a solution before it was time to pick up kids, worked with his schedule and told me that if I came right in, he'd have me ready by that afternoon. When I dropped off the truck, Tim had me in and out, he even drove me back to the house so that I could make arrangements to get to work as quickly as possible. Around lunch Tim called me to let me know that he had checked the entire system (batteries, alternators, starter, wiring, etc) and the good news was that everything checked out except the batteries. Regarding the batteries, I asked his opinion on several brands I'd researched, including some of the top-tier batteries on the market. Tim had every opportunity to up-sell me but that's not how Stamps does business. Instead, he considered my typical vehicle use, and recommended a set of batteries that should last me much longer without breaking the bank. When I picked up the truck that afternoon, Tim was again there to meet me. He explained exactly how they tested the system, what they found, and asked if I had questions....what you typically expect from a good service provider. Tim then told me to check-in with him and let him know if I saw anything out of the ordinary. He specifically told me what conditions to be aware of that might be indicative of another issue and reiterated to call him if there were any other difficulties. This is what, in my opinion, makes Stamps a great service provider. As I was getting ready to leave, Tim understood that this was an unanticipated expense and let me know that he was going to help me out on the final invoice. He applied a generous discount and wished me a Happy Thanksgiving. I walked out feeling as though I had someone looking out for my interests and I hope the Stamps team takes pride in knowing that they have absolutely earned my loyalty...a win-win situation, which should be the goal of any service provider. read more

Stamps auto of Queen Creek is the worst auto mechanic I've been to. I'm not the kind that gives bad reviews to businesses, but you are better off finding a guy off the street or fixing your car by yourself than going here. A common toyota Sienna was too complicated for them to fix. They have one diagnostic tech that comes from outside and charges a separate fee for diagnosis. No joke! I came in for a simple oil change and to change the brake pads.They demanded I do other work I did not want done. I asked him to please just skip that part and the guy was bullying, rude and mocked me. He said since his technician suggested it it Hass to be done and I had no choice. I was leaving out of town the next morning and I didn't have time to take it somewhere else. Then when I went to pick up my car He tried to make me sign a waiver saying that they are not responsible if they caused any damage to my car. He told me it was the warranty which was a lie. I refused to sign that and so he held my car key saying he's keeping my keys. I asked for them several times and he said you're not getting your keys unless you signed that form. Again he was very condescending and bullying.I had already paid the over $600 bill. I asked to speak to the owner and he said he's not allowed to give the owners phone number out. I then started to call the police. As soon as he knew I was calling the police he threw the keys down and said take your keys. Do not ever go to the Stamps auto in Queen Creek! read more

I'll begin by saying I have a hard time trusting repair shops. I have had experiences in the past where I left the shop wondering if my concerns were really addressed, or if they even cared that I was their customer. That isn't true for Stamps by a long shot! What a great place! Making an appointment by phone was a breeze and I was able to get in right away. Tim was very friendly and you could tell immediately that he cared about you as a customer. It wasn't just "business as usual" and really gave me confidence in my choice to come here. I was also happy to know they do a very thorough inspection of your entire vehicle when you bring it in. The best part is that they send you a digital copy of this inspection. This includes photographs of your car along with their written analysis. They offer recommendations for future repairs (if needed) and repairs that need to be done immediately (if needed). They also let you make the call on whether or not you want them to fix it. You're in total control! I have never experienced something like this before. It was awesome! We got our car back the same day and all our concerns were addressed. The cost was reasonable for the effort and I was happy with the value I received from Stamps. I highly recommend this shop and will surely do business with them again! I brought my car in because it would start and immediately die. After looking at it and checking codes, they decided it needed a new battery. They charged me $550 for a new battery and the labor to put in the battery scan the codes. Two days later it continued to have the same problem, so I took it back to Stamps, thinking they missed a code. They kept my car for a week and not once called me about it. I had to continue calling them for updates. They said they looked at it and it was fine. So I took it home and one day later it won't start again. If they don't know how to fix a Volkswagen, they could've just said that. Their lack of communication and lying about the repair is unacceptable. read more

As with many auto repair joints, its either feast or famine. My last review offered glowing praise for the warranty repair they performed. This time, not so much. My car was leaking coolant. I dropped it off. Diagnosis: Top radiator hose had a leak. Cost to repair: $166.00 Yes - $166.00 I said "No", picked it up, went to NAPA next door, bought the hose for $15 and did it myself in 12 minutes. An experienced mechanic could have it done in 5 minutes. So does that sound reasonable? I don't think so, especially when I'm a repeat customer. BTW, Stamps, as do many other shops, charge you more for parts than you can buy them yourself. My hose cost me $15. Stamps would get it cheaper as they are a business, yet they charge $35. Why? Well, they need to keep the doors open and it covers the cost of any warranty work they do. Be aware. Be informed. read more

That means you can get them replaced at 50,000 miles and you'll pay only for labor but not for new shocks or struts." I think that's a tad bit better than your warranty 36000 or 3 year warranty..... Took my Honda Civic in for a cracked radiator, came here based on reviews and saw that you could get 20% off first service. We asked if they would honor the yelp 20% prior to service and the gentleman said yes. The bill came out to $600+ so at checkout I offered to show the yelp discount on my phone for checking in, gentleman said it was not necessary. After reviewing the bill he only discounted $20. Was really disappointed they did not honor it especially after he said he would, if they won't take the discount off the bill it should not be advertised on their yelp page. read more

We have been bringing our vehicles to Stamps for almost 3 years without questioning their service repair fees or their $60+ oil changes. Today we were quoted $570 + tax to replace a blower fan resistor. After agreeing to the price with Stamps I called the Mazda dealer in Gilbert to check and see what they would charge. Mazda dealer was $350 total including tax. I called Stamps back to see if they would come close to that and the answer was no. I can't believe a small local business would be willing to lose a loyal customer with such indifference. Service mgr could not have cared less that we were going to bring our vehicles elsewhere in the future. Shame on us for not comparing repair costs with other service centers sooner than this. Update: Part was $120 at autozone. It was literally 4 screws and I snapped in new resistor in back of glovebox in 20 minutes. Recently brought my Tacoma in for an inspection after seeing leakage around the transmission oil pan during a recent oil change. I also asked for a tire rotation. They emailed me a complete inspection report/findings w/ pictures. The inspection and tire rotation was free. I then scheduled to have the tranny oil pan seal replaced a couple days later. ***!*** I HIGHLY REGRET EVER VISITING THIS SHOP ***!*** $1300 is not even a moderately reasonable price with how much they messed up on my car. The main reason a had to go here is because the radiator had cracked and I really didn't have the option of driving the car very far. After driving 10,000 miles after the service here many things have gone wrong with my Mercedes after this visit. They cross- threaded the transmission cooling lines, broke my radiator fan clutch, damaged my water pump, and shattered a blade on my radiator fan. And on top of that, lost (or stole) a part of my air box cleaner that is necessary for keeping my car running cool. When I asked them look over the vehicle, when my water pump was leaking, they lied and said it was my compressor. Told me that I would need a whole new air conditioning system (which is something that other people have mentioned in their reviews as well) and didn't even mention the bad water pump...THAT THEY WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGING IN THE FIRST PLACE. This shop deserves a (-6) star review, but a single star is the lowest I can put. The difference of 7 stars was made up by Tim, the manager. He was the only individual at that shop that was any help. He helped me get some parts covered under the warranty that was provided with the service. His mechanics however don't deserve anything but a pay cut. Who knows, maybe they do good work on other cars, but if you have a Mercedes...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP, they do not have the correct tools to work on your car and will charge you tons of money for worthless work and damages to your car. read more

I have gone to this Stamps Auto for some time and until recently been very happy with the work. The new crew now is really bad, I had repair work on my 2006 Jeep Liberty. The window will go down but won't come up without help. After talking to the Jeep dealership, Stamps auto charged me way to much for the part. The day of me picking up my Jeep, the shop had misplaced my key and made me late for work. I tried to call Stamps today, 8/25/18 at 1430 hrs. and Jason put me on hold and never got back with me. I wanted to ask about the Jeep window, but I guess Stamp employees are too busy to help their customers. There are a lot of new Auto places in the area and going to check them out. read more

I wish I could give a 0! I'm out $1,200 and my car wasn't fixed! I took my car here to be fixed based on a recommendation as we are new to the area. As soon as I drove my car out of the parking lot after "being fixed," there was a new sound. I asked them about it and they said not to worry, but to bring it back in when it got louder. What do you think happened? Yep, the noise got louder, so I took it back in. They had my car for a day, then said that there was nothing wrong with my car. Fast forward a couple of months, I'm driving on the freeway and there's a loud sound and then the check engine light came on. At this point, I decided to take my vehicle somewhere else to be fixed as I've now been to Stamps 3 different times. The other mechanic did such a great job and haven't had any issues. I decided that I would call Stamps to see about some sort of refund/store credit. The "gentleman" who I spoke to...who has been a mechanic for more than 20 years...and apparently hasn't EVER interacted with a customer basically told me I was stupid. I then spoke to the GM who told me basically that I should have brought my vehicle back into them to get it fixed...um, no thanks. I gave you 3 chances...paid $1,200 for nothing. Well I have to say that I called Stamps already judging their work; due to the bad service I recieved elsewhere. But... I gave them a chance and they absolutely delivered. My service guy was nice and called me with updates and even better - I had my Jeep back the same day! I am also an auto mechanic by trade and recently broke my leg. So... I never write reviews. Good or bad, I usually don't have the time, but this irked me so much I needed to share. I have been going to this location for about 9 years now. It used to be a napa auto, but changed to stamps. I have had my vehicles serviced here several times since they changed and have not had an issue until now. A little back round: When Stamps first took over and found they raised their prices for an oil change from $22 to $32, saying they were using better oil... Cool. Went in today and the lowest they had was $49.99 + tax(not synthetic oil, but with an additive). When I told him I couldn't afford that price, he told me that he would like to work with me on the price, but it looked like I had been recommended repair services in the past, but only purchased oil changes. If he was going to work with me it had to be a "give and take." When I said the repairs they had recommended were done for hundreds of dollars cheaper at another mechanic's, I was told that maybe I was looking for more of a "jiffee lube experience." It blows my mind that anyone in a service industry would talk to a customer that way. I could understand the price if they were adding $20 worth of value to the service, but I can buy a can of additive for $5-$10 and dump it in myself. Fail... I will never take my vehicles there again... FYI, I went down the street to Firebird Automotive (also pricey) and their oil change with good oil, cost $19+tax. I took my car in because it randomly stalled on me the night before and I asked them to check it out...they didn't find anything wrong with it after several tests but they did make other recommendations. A gentleman by the name of Michael Reed who is the service manager assisted me. Michael was very attentive and kept me informed along the way about what my car required or didn't need right now and gave me a very good price for the work that was done.
