My personal favorite nail salon in Poquoson. Kim, the owner, is so sweet and has a fantastic memory - she remembers almost every client! Make an appointment because the secret is out and the salon is usually busy. I have not felt rushed or felt like I was strongly upsold here. I tend to get gel manicures and pedicures. They have a collection of wonderful smelling foot scrubs if you opt for a premium pedicure. It's worth the money to go above basic, but don't get me wrong the basic is good option too. I used to go to this location for a few years. But, things turned for me for three reasons. Those three reasons made me disconnect from here and go somewhere else. Before things turned I enjoyed going. I was able to make appointments and they were usually always running on time. The pedicures were great and my manicures were always done to my liking. The salon was always clean. But here are the reasons why I had to find a new nail salon. 1. My daughter would get her nails done from time to time. She always wanted to use my person who happen to be the owner. She liked that she paid attention to detail and liked how her craft with nails was done. So when I would make appointments for her or she would make them for herself we always asked for the owner by name. She was always placed on the schedule for her. But, when we arrived 85% of the time my daughter was pushed onto someone else. That in time upset her and me. It was as if it was because she was 15-17 at the time her requests were not important. Money is money no matter how old the person is. I felt like she was judged for her age. I taught her to tip well, and pay etc. 2. I would average my nails to be done every 10-12 days. I get anxious and will start to pick it they are growing out too much etc, or if the cuticles were getting to be out of shape. Things were fine, but after almost a year of that the owner told me she just couldn't do that anymore. She said she really needs me to do 14 days. Personally I felt like that was not harming anyone or myself to have it done every 10-12 days. There is more I could say, but I'm just not going to. My nail tech now said she understands why I want them done when I did. She also stated that it is my choice and I pay for them to be done which is my choice. 3. I would pay with a card a good portion of the time. But, one day the owner saw that ai had cash in my wallet. Her question, "Heather, why don't you pay in cash?" I replied because I chose to use my card. My cash is used for other things. Either way how I pay is how I pay. This was strike three for me.'I did not appreciate being questioned about my cash. Overall what started out good just got worse and I just wasn't enjoying myself there anymore. When I went in to cancel my appointments there was a nail tech who helped me and she was so polite and apologized but completely understood what I was feeling. OP Nails is hands down the best nail shop I have ever visited. I randomly walked in the first time as my salon was booked- best thing I could have done! The salon is open, clean, bright. They open a new package of tools for every client and take alot of care with the manicures. Any design or color combination I have brought it to show them, they accomplished. Super relaxing and fun. DO NOT SEND TEEN GIRLS HERE! My teen daughter went to get her nails filled tonight and felt incredibly uncomfortable. She was pushed repeatedly to get gel polish even after she asked for regular, the nail tech was incredibly rough with her cuticles and left her nails a mess. She was over charged and even after questioning it, was told it was fine and given no receipt. Her nails look terrible, are uneven, oddly shaped and she came home on tears saying she felt bullied the whole time. She tried texting me to come meet her and was scolded by the nail tech and told not to touch her phone. This is unbelievable!!! Avoid at all cost!! read more

The worst salon I have ever been to. I am 36 years old and have been getting manicures since I was 16. I've lived in Chicago, San Diego, Phoenix, Poland, and many other places and I have NEVER had an experience like this. When I sat down to get my manicure the lady began with filing my nails, then she proceeded cutting my nails with clippers. As she got to my pinky finger she cut a good size piece of my skin off!!! I pulled away in shock from the pain, looked down at my finger, and it was bleeding! The manager apologized (I believe Kim was her name), gave me a bandaid, but then had me CONTINUE with the same lady. I refused because I was not comfortable after what happened, so the manager then took over. I was VERY concerned about the pain and possible infection from clippers that have been used on numerous other people. Considering this has never happened to me before and the fact that I was not comfortable at the time, I decided to leave. The manager told me she would give me a free pedicure when I returned and wrote me a gift certificate. I thought to myself that I would never return. After 2 months I decided to give ONLY the manager a chance to redeem the nail salon and use the gift certificate she gave me. I made sure to cut my toenails beforehand just in case. I figured the least I could get out of this whole thing was a free foot massage and some nice nail polish. I went to the nail salon and the manager was there. I asked if she remembered who I was and she stated she did. I told her that I would like a pedicure to which she replied that they were fully booked and that they don't have any availability for several days. I am beyond disappointed in this business, to say the least. BEYOND disappointed. If I cut a piece of skin out of someone's finger I would make room for them to have a pedicure because it would be the LEAST I could do! Don't go here! I will never go back here....they can give me a 100 gift certificates. Never! read more

Latex Alert! This salon only uses latex gloves and cannot accommodate a client with a latex allergy. I attempted to try this salon for the first time today but assumed they would have non-latex gloves for their technicians. I had to leave without any services because the owner/manager told me that I needed bring my own gloves for their technician. Noted, but I won't be going back. read more

All of the ladies here are my favorite! No matter who I see at OP Nail Spa, I always receive service beyond my expectation. All of the ladies are detail oriented and do not rush. My polish stays forever and my acrylics outlasted all of my coworkers who go somewhere else. These ladies are true artists. Oh and the pedicures are the best! Even their basic pedicure is better than anywhere else. They also remember your name and what you like. I work full time, and I can always get an appointment when needed. Today I visited the OP Nail Spa for the first time. This salon is bright, beautiful, and so clean you could eat off the floors; it is really impressive and comforting to see how exquisitely clean it is - not just the salon, but their practices as well. I had made an appointment for a basic pedi. Their massage chair was to die for. After I chose a polish I was seen right on time by Rose who did a great job. I decided to stay and get a pink & white full set by Kim. She was so friendly and personable; I was so happy that she took such great care of me. The mani stations have these little fans imbedded in the table that pulls all of the nail dust, etc. so that there are literally no fumes or strong chemical aromas of any kind in the salon. The overall atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing; there was background music which was a fantastic selection of current tunes. My visit was great and I plan on recommending this salon to my friends and family! read more
