If rating on service and food alone, this would be a 4. Easy. Clearly a local joint which is the kind of place you should look for when in a new city/vacation spot. Waitress was very kind and welcoming. The food was spot on. Hubby got bacon and eggs. Simple but cooked exactly to order. I got Oma's hash which was delicious if huge. The kid got a pancake and bacon. Not sure what's up with Canadian chocolate milk but it was the richest chocolate milk I'd ever tasted. Sugar coma! All around great breakfast. That said, there were food remains on the floor and someone has clearly done some work on the toilet. Take that as you will. read more

There are a bunch of diners on Hartzell Rd and I'd like to say there are 2 that are considered pretty popular. I'd recommend you check this one out and The Lancer. Between the 2 I much prefer this one run by and older Greek couple who started out in Niagara Falls and are awesome. The breakfast is cheap and fast here. It's made just the way a greasy spoon diner breakfast should be made and the home fries aren't bad. I believe all breakfast spots are defined by if they don't screw up their bacon by overcooking it so it's black or undercooking it so that it's not at least a little crispy and by their home fries. A local recommended this spot and I was not disappointed. It is cheap and the food was good. I got the feta cheese omelette and they weren't stingy with the cheese. I also got a pancake because the person next to me had some and looked really good. I had the blueberry pancake which was good and crispy (if you like it that way). Blonde waitress very poor Costumer service . Not impressed at all ... . Asked for a 2 piece fish and chip , she asked if my girlfriend if she was having some . we both said no we are gunna split mine , because it's a lot of food for 1 person . Then she comes out with my plate 2 piece and a plate with a one piece ..? I said I didn't order the extra plate .... she rolled her eyes and walked away . Then asked if we needed anything I said more coffee and ketchup got coffee no ketchup had to ask for it 2 times , also I drink cream in my coffee I asked 2 times then got up myself and got it because she was to busy on her sell phone .... LOVE going out for breakfast....searching for my fav place in St. Catharine's, so far I've been to this place twice for the standard breakfast of coffee, eggs, toast, bacon, potato, each time never disappointed. The potato is real and not the deep fried hash-brown squares kind which I don't mind either but prefer real potatoes, they were seasoned well. The service is really good too, and fast. Every time I come here the food is great yet the service is terrible. I always get a young blonde girl that never checks up on her tables and I always have to ask if I need anything. Most of the time I get over it cause I enjoy the food yet this time she got my order wrong by not paying attention and could care less by replying with a "oh" and walking away. If you want good food I suggest here, as long as you are willing to receive crappy service. If you want good food and good service I would go elsewhere. read more
